* As it turns out, even dimensional counterparts aren’t exempt from setting off Durandal’s clinginess. (This would have to be a ways into their tenuous partnership, as Mirror Durandal is actually rather scared of Mirror Vince...)

* June in a shirt from a Venus catalogue I got recently. Most of the second-gen battleroids are self-conscious of their implants to varying degrees; June’s not as bad about it as Vince, but that’s mostly if what she’s wearing doesn’t emphasize ‘em.

* An idea for one of Vince’s potential past lives that probably came about from browsing @vintagegeekculture‘s blog. This guy would directly precede Austin del Rosario, who would’ve been born in the 60s; he’s a WWI spy who narrowly avoided getting his head taken off by shrapnel (note the scar) and, after the war, adopted a German-American kid who would’ve otherwise been stuck in the foster system forever. He’s faintly aware that some of his memories, while unquestionably his own, aren’t of his current life.

The weird occult interests of the 1920s, such as reincarnation, seem like they could be useful for a Marathon story. Haven’t got a name for this past self of Vince’s yet, but I do have one for his ward (Kitty Hertz).

* Detouring to the angel-verse for a bit. Valkyries have a good reputation in Norse mythology, but here, they’re fallen angels who serve as Satan and Lucifer’s enforcers (for a given definition of ’serve’). There are six of them, divided into groups of three aligned with either Ira or Superbia; this particular Valkyrie is Sanngriðr, an especially callous and vicious woman in a small group already infamous for its ruthless methods.

* Filler doodles of the UESC Marathon’s AIs’ names written in Arabic (originally typed using Yamli)...a language I can’t actually read, so I hope these are coherent.

Assalamu Aleikum,

It is tough for people not living in an Arabic country to have an Arabic keyboard at hand. Of course you could buy one online probably for home usage, but what if you needed to have it say, at an internet café or at the airport's internet terminal?

It basically comes down to two choices:

Either you need to learn the arabic keyboard by heart (good luck!)

Or then you are a reader of THE MUSLIM GEEKS, your techy blog for muslims, and you remember reading that article about an online phonetic Arabic text editor called YAMLI !

Yamli is a "smart" Arabic keyboard because unlike other visual keyboards you can find online, it translates the Latin phonetic writing of Arabic that many people use while chatting, texting or writing casual emails into magical Arabic words!

As you know this type of writing mixes letters and numbers to compensate for the missing sounds in Latin languages. bellow is a little memo on this type of writing.

Memo on Arabic phonetic writing:

Letter "أ" : is written with a "2" like in 2adab (أدب)

Letter "ع" : is written with a "3" like in 3arab (عرب)

Letter "خ" : is written with a "5" like in 5alid (خالد)

Letter "ح" : is written with a "7" like in 7asan (حسن)

Letter "ق" : is written with a "9" like in 9ur2an (قرآن)

Browser extensions (Firefox, Chrome, not for IE nor Safari though)

The engine has also been ported to many browsers in the form of Firefox Extension, Chrome extension that once toggled will enable the smart Arabic keyboard mode.
