Totally get where they are coming from with moving to a subscription set up, YT ads ain't what they use to be, and they deserve to have the fruits of their labour. But the way it's been announced, the build up and even the title of the video were just massive fumbles. Very alienating to the very people they want to bring across.

Hope it works out for them though.

Sorry edit here : Am seeing alot of comparisons to dropout which is valid, but another YT channel that has its own service for its channel is Mr Sunday Movies with Big Sandwich. They have a bunch of stuff only on there plus release caravan of garbage a week early there.

It can be done, just not by blindsiding the audience.

How do you make gifs and clips? Do you download the YouTube video and use VLC Media Player, or something else? (In the past when I’ve used it, the time cutoffs have been inaccurate and an attempt at a 3-second clip was either 1 second long or 5 seconds long. Couldn’t get it to the right 3 seconds.)

I screenrecorded the whole video on YouTube then cut stuff up on capcut. Caput lets you cut things to the tenth of a second (? I think?) so it's pretty accurate. It's also easy to extract audio because there's a button.
