Six of Crows duology was a pretty fun read, even despite the fact I find most YA annoying. But I just couldn't stand Jesper and Wylan together! I found Wylan to be boring and apart from that I think their chemistry was a bit forced (like they are two gay characters so they should be together). I loved Kaz and Inej romance, but if I were to pair Jesper with anyone I think Kaz would be a pretty good fit for him (they come from a similar harsh backround and they are already pretty close, but they also give that nice opposites attract dynamic). What are your thoughts?

i was surprised how much i loved it, given that i could barely get through shadow and bone itself. soc really captured my heist-movie-loving ass tho!

and arghh, i really feel you on that jesper/wylan thingy!! i like both of the characters, but just really couldn't see them together, esp not long term. i couldn't feel the chemistry, the bickering felt flat and i just wasn't feeling the emotions at all. their lifestyles and temperaments seemed rather clashing too! i can't imagine jes actually wanting to stay out of the dopamine-kicking life and choosing a calmer set-up.

also i'm generally not a huge fan of that whole "all characters in a friend group must end up dating, preferably pairing up inside the group" thingy and was really hoping to avoid it with crows. i'm much fonder of the idea of them being a polycule, keeping some of them single or have them date people outside of the group.

as for jes, i really loved his dynamic with kaz actually and would love to see it explored in romantic-ish context! it was complicated in the best way, and i felt like the emotional load between them was both heave and genuine. they really seem to be able to bring up both the best and the worst in each other, but i feel like there was always a clear level of respect and care for each other. i also think that untangling the mess between them is such an interesting thing to explore, given their vastly different coping mechanisms!

So, Ima admit. I very much had a HP phase. A lot of my rp time was HP. It wasn't where I started [see above] but it is where i did most of my writing/met a lot of the people I still write with. THAT. SAAAAID. One OC that ended up surviving That Time was Maxwell B. He had too many surnames, one being Bianchi. How do I solve a problem like Max? Max was charming. I don't usually like to call my characters charming because I feel it's a matter of perspective. If I can get you to feel a character I see/hope will be charming as charming, then job well done. But Max was CHARMING. I feel in an olden days, people would call Max a knave or a rapascallion, but in an 'oh, you!!' sort of way. But the thing is, the most important thing, is Max wasn't half as charming as HE believed himself to be. He was a silly guy. And he knew it. It was part of his personality but it was also on purpose. He was "lazy" and a bit of a prankster, and seemingly, didn't take a lot of thing seriously, so don't go taking him seriously. Which often lead to underestimation of his character and his values [both a matter of his fault and people not looking beyond the surface]; but he was a flirt who was very respectful of boundaries and other's relationships, he was extremely loyal, and while not entirely book smart he was very observant and intelligent. I miss Max a lot sometimes. [Max while not the prototype, he was the culmination of previous prototypes lmao. I haven't done a character like him in a minute tho. Amos and Ferryn are the closest but Amos is an asshole. And Ferryn is -- not a good person. And Max was GOOD. I also don't play either a lot, lmao.]

Apologies if this is a bit morbid, but my partner died a year ago and I've been left with their vast collection of sex toys. I've cleaned them all with a spray cleaner intended for toys, but I don't know if that makes them safe to continue using? Some of them are things we bought and used together, but many of them predate our relationship, so idk much about their history or the kind of material they're made of. I can tell some are pretty expensive tho and it seems wasteful to throw them out...

no need to apologize! this is a great question, and not one that I imagine is covered in most advice about grieving. I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm glad to be a resource figuring out an answer to this question.

so first off, re: cleaning, I'd check Dangerous Lilly's toy cleaning guide to make sure everything has been cleaned as thoroughly as possible based on what material it's made of. if you aren't sure what kind of material a toy is made of, that's a great sign right out of the gate that it's time for that toy to go - if you can't identify it, you can't make sure it's clean, and you can't even be sure it's body safe at all.

broadly speaking, I don't have any objections to keeping and using sex toys that you don't know the full history of, as long as you can verify that they're made of something non-porous that can be thoroughly cleaned. some people might balk at the idea of using a toy whose sexual history predates your relationship, but I'm a pragmatist and I think if you can handle having sex with a human person whose genitals have had sex with other people then a sex toy functionally isn't that much different. again, as long as we can clean it thoroughly!

overall, just from a health and safety standpoint, I'd say anything that we can confidently identify and clean is good to stay, if you want to keep and use them, while mystery toys or toys made of porous materials need to hit the bins. whether or not you continue to use these toys or turn them into a treasured collection is up to you! a lovingly preserved sex toy museum is as sweet a memorial as any.

This is an updated version of a chart I made a few months ago. I had gotten some feedback and then TFOne came out and I kinda had to update it. I also added a Gen 1 Optimus Prime for scale, for fun... no other reason... (edit: slight adjustment made, just corrected a slight mistake in the order)

Listed Heights, Explanations, and Justifications below the cut, bc you couldn't shut me up if you tried and I had shit to say.

Gen 1 - ~10 feet (TFwiki says greater than 3 meters so I rounded up to the first whole number because round)

Netflix Cybertron Trilogy - ~10 feet (He looks identical to Gen 1 so... the reason his photo looks weird is because I couldn't find a good full body photo with him standing straight up facing the camera so I put two images together to make the worst looking photoshop job you have ever seen)

Earth Spark - ~10 feet (There is no confirmed height yet, but using this screen shot (see below) of him standing in front of a barn door, I was able to make a reasonable guess, bc I'm so smart.)

One V1 - ~13 feet (I am well aware of what the TFWiki says: 26.429 feet. And I fully reject that number. A: These numbers are sourced from the Walmart Promotional AR Experience that came out before the movie. B: There are three decimal points, and that number does not convert into a whole number in meters (which is originally what I thought was weird about it). C: The director has said that this movie is both canon to the LA movies and its own separate canon, and Bumblebee in both sets of LA movies does not exceed 20 feet tall. Ever. So, for sanity's sake, I have used the KCV numbers as my baseline. Bee grows when he gets his t-cog so shrink this one down a few feet. Look, I'm working on the Optimus chart rn, and one of the numbers from Beast Wars on the wiki was very observably wrong, and if I can dispute numbers older than me, I can dispute numbers 2 decades younger than me from fucking Walmart. Cyberverse - 18 feet (I'm gonna be honest, the only info we have is from a really shitty screen shot of a magazine. SO if any one has a copy of this book from the video below, a high quality scan would be greatly appreciated and I will kiss the ground you walk upon. This is Sam compared to Bee from one of the BV movies, I'm too lazy to check which one. Sam is average size for a human and we know Bee is 16 feet tall in the first three movies. Checks out. Let's now look at a TFP Character who is also 16 feet tall.

Jack is average size for a human, and the size difference is about the same. Can you see why I can't question the Aligned heights, even if they don't have a source??!?! They specifically made this universe to be full of freakishly tall robots for some fucking reason.)

"Like I can poison you, for example, poison your Doriyaki and then get rid of every single evidence or frame someone else or make it look like an accide-"
