First let’s appreciate Lee Do Hyun’s acting skills, he amazed me by his performance switching between the character and the spirit.

So let’s start:

So tbh we thought Bong-gil and Lee Hwa-rim would be a couple and got a little disappointed.

But the chemistry guyssss it’s something about the chemistry.

When you watch the movie it’s not a chemistry between couples but more of a siblings relationship thing.

The way he protected Hwa-rim from the Japanese evil spirit and she didn’t runaway although anyone would’ve done it.

You can’t tell me it’s not a sibling kind of a relationship because if you have siblings you’ll understand my point.

I think no one told him what happened exactly when he was unconscious in the hospital and the evil spirit possessed him. Or maybe they told him he was just possessed, nothing more, no details.

He is either an only child no other siblings or he’s the youngest.

In my opinion the youngest is more open to the spirit world. Not in all cases though.

If he’s an only child it explains his behavior towards the others, very kind and caring because he sees them as his family.

He’s a foodie, you’ll always find him with something to munch on. If it’s not a snack it will be a piece of gum.

It came from his anxiety, his interactions with spirits are sometimes overwhelming and by time he became anxious.

Ok oh my god. OH MY GOD. I just saw treasure planet for the first time and It was fucking amazing. Like yeah Duh I KNOWWW i know it’s like. “underrated Disney movie bla bla it was a commercial failure” . You know the deal.

But if there is 1 thing I want to say:

I cannot emphasize enough how meaningful and touching it is to the audience when you allow your male main characters to cry, and hug, and be emotionally vulnerable without shame. That brought this film to a whole new level 🥺

its a beautiful movie that took so many creative risks and that’s so admirable. It’s so clear they had a vision and they crafted that vision with endless amounts of love :’] I DID CRY.

More rambling below

I was CONSISTENTLY delighted by how creative the characters were and incredibly entertained throughout. So fucking fun and engaging and it feels like a 2 hour movie so much happens. How is it only 1.5 hours.

I CRIED !!!!!!!!!! John Silver and Jim’s relationship was so COMPLEX like actually amazing. The father figure dynamic is so sweet and heartwarming and so heartbreaking simultaneously like I was not expecting that AMV montage in the middle like that shit cut me so deep it was outstanding. A montage about Jim’s troubled childhood with a neglectful absent father and then DIRECTLY PARALLELING THAT WITH HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH SILVER. Can’t find a gif of it but during his introduction there was a ROTATING SHOT of him cooking (❤️) while using his arm and his arm has so many tools inside it like a cyborg Swiss Army knife it’s the coolest fucking thing ever. Just Amazing

Also the fact they introduced an entirely new character 53 minutes in when the main cast has already been established was such a risk, but it so paid off. I love B.E.N. Captain Amelia was fucking awesome for the first half of the movie. One of the best characters. Yeah. ……………. They fumbled her so hard. MAYBE ITS JUST ME BUT ME AND MY FRIEND WERE NOT A FAN OF HER AND DELBERT AT ALL. Disney was like. We have a competent woman character ! Competent woman has to get injured and then the incompetent man has to take care of her and then they HAVE to fall in love. It’s actually so tragic like they did NOT deserve her.

IN FACT HERE’S MY SCORCHING HOT TAKE: Delbert should’ve been the one to get injured and Amelia nurses him back to health. Delbert might apologize profusely because of his self confidence issues and cuz he internalizes things that go wrong as his fault. Amelia reassures him, realizing that she was too harsh on him earlier. Delbert becomes less intimidated by her because she opens up to him and they grow to trust one another. Amelia stays with him while Jim goes to hide. And whapow !!!! Same relationship is built up without disempowering a female character. It doesn’t even have to be romantic they can just be friends……. 🫶 cuz it comes off as weird because since the start Delbert was like “wtf the captain is a GIRL?? Wait ooh la laaa she’s pretty” and she had 0 interest in him. so like the ONLY way they could pair them together was to get her injured and have him care for her . And she falls in love with him out of nowhere. No. Being cared for does not mean you’ll fall in love with your caretaker. She’s so ace coded to me and my friend. Until SUDDENLY. Am I crazy

Jeff is so nice and cute as expected. He loved my pirate notepad as a gift. He was a little surprised when I told him I had watched Manson's Lost Girls, and I added it was a great performance. He seemed genuinely touched. He was always smiling, he was really happy to be there, though tired. He was jetlagged, thus he had bags under his eyes but he was still handsome to me. I've heard him laughing sometimes, he has a cute and loud laugh, but not as loud as Taz's laugh. Also, Jeff is pretty calm and has a soft voice. But it was hard for me to make eye contact especially because of his gaze. OMG guyssss his eyes! They made me weak in the knees, literally, because I was trembling while walking down the stairs. 🫠

I forgot to say it, but just after my picture was taken, I told him he was a sweetheart, and he said thank you.

Taz is genuine and kind, for real. He's really chill. He was always smiling and laughed very often. Such a sweet guy too. He's really extroverted and SO talkative. His eyes were shining, he was very happy to meet his fans. We waited a lot, especially because of a guy who asked to sign a loooot of funko pop figurines boxes... Anyways  it was totally worth it. Also, he noticed I was French, so he said "merci beaucoup et au revoir" lol. I offered him a notebook that looked like a chocolate tablet, he asked me to sign it lmao. Then we did a high five because I told him I drove 3 hours to see him and he apologized for the queue. Finally he shook my hand as a goodbye.  ❤️

i did already go on a whole rant in a different post about how much i hate dulcy the dragon, but i wouldn’t say that’s much of a controversial opinion considering most people don’t know who she is 😭

i don’t have many tbh but i’ll share the few i do have

first off i don’t like sonic x that much and it’s definitely a lot of people’s favorite sonic show. i think there’s a generational difference, seeing as though my fav sonic show is sonic boom 💀 i’ve only seen the first season so like my opinion could very well change if or when i finish it, especially cus i’ve seen clips of later stuff such as shadow and the chaotix being introduced and that seemed cool and a lot more interesting to me compared to the formulaic things i’ve seen so far. i think the argument that sonic is barely in his own show is a decent one too, bro literally never wants to do anything but nap and avoid chris (which i can’t blame him for that part). i personally also just haven’t gotten back into anime in general for several years becus i’m tired of the whole “you gotta wait for it to get better” type thing and i would rather just watch mindless stuff but everyone has their cup of tea and i don’t think it’s an inherently bad show at all either. it can never be as bad as the knuckles show…*shivers*. and ofc animation wise it’s fantastic and super nostalgic.

next hot take is about the song “almost dead” from shadow the hedgehog. it’s one of the most hated songs in the fandom however i LOVE it. i will blast that shit in my headphones thanks to the kind soul who uploaded it to spotify podcasts. the criticism that it doesn’t really match shadows character is valid, and it especially makes sense becus it was also in a horror movie. but as just a song in general my brain goes “ooo funny noises” and doesn’t really think about that part. i’d say the other infamously hated sonic song is sweet dreams from sonic 06 (and while i haven’t listened to it in awhile so i can’t be certain) i remember that song being pretty bad imo so i agree with that part at least

lastly i’m just gonna say that i’m not a fan of the ships sonjet, sonilver, and blazamy. this is not me hating on them at all!! and i have seen super cute fanart of them as well. the only ones i straight up despise are the ones that are illegal (looking at the weird ass sontails shippers on this app…). i just don’t particularly like them becus of either personal headcannons and/or just a gut feeling. with sonic and silver i feel like they have kinda like a sibling or cousin dynamic. for sonjet and blazamy i feel like they haven’t had enough interactions to really warrant a relationship, and i think they would be better off as playful besties. also i just realized that all three of these are gay ships and i really really hope people don’t think i’m homophobic for this especially also becus i spam sonamy on my page GUYSSSS IM A MULTISHIPPER I LOVE SONADOW TOO AND IM FRUITY MYSELF DONT KILL MEEEE 😞😞😞
