Sorry if this is controversial but trying to talk about music on TikTok is so exhausting why is there a new argument over what band is what genre every few months!!! Or when a song gets popular and now it's a 'TikTok song' reduced to fifteen seconds out of the whole thing!!!
#the yapper yaps#people keep arguing over what is nu metal and what is midwest emo#stfu just enjoy it bro#also like people hating on shit for no reason#nobody just says 'hm personally this isn't my taste'#it's always 'X is so bad why would anybody like that ew'#hate them for what they did to Radiohead fr#idc Front Bottoms aren't midwest emo anymore#and idc you don't think mcr are 'heavy' enough or whatever#YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE ALL THE REALLY LESSER KNOWN BANDS OF A GENRE TO SAY YOU ENJOY IT!!!#YOU CAN SAY YOU LISTEN TO SIOUXIE AND THE BANSHEES AND BAUHAUS AND THE CURE AND SAY YOU LIKE GOTH!!!#FOR EXAMPLE

What Makes Someone a Goth?
If you answer mostly yes to these questions, you’re a goth.
1
Do you listen to Goth music? (the Cure, Siouxie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Christian Death, etc) Remember, you can listen to other music too! I myself listen to Slipknot, Journey, BFMV, Asking Alexandria, Guns n Roses, etc.
2
Are you progressive? While I was doing research on gothic political views, most people were saying it doesn’t matter as much as the music, because goth is a music based subculture. However, most goths support the people who are “different” and not as widely accepted by society, such as cross dressers. I feel like for the most part, Goth is left leaning because goth is inclusive and no offence to conservatives or whatever, but y’all aren’t really. I don’t know much about politics, I pretty much hate them because that’s all people talk about, but I felt like this was an important thing to mention.
3
I disagree with this. I’m pretty sure goth is about individuality and inclusion within reason. So if you support either of those, then I’m pretty sure that also means you’re goth. But music comes first. Always! Any goths who can tell me if the above picture is true or not, please tell me <3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s all I can think of, so that’s all I’m writing until I know more

Been listening lately to a playlist that spotify recommended me named "Dark 80s". And look, almost all of the songs were real bangers, and the only time I've skipped a couple of songs are because 1 I didn't like, and a couple more because I can't stand that fascist motherfucker of Morrissey.
But the thing is, the playlist it's like the most surface level "dark" music of the 80's, and sometimes, there are some songs that, again, are absolute bangers, but had no reason to be in a "dark" playlist.
Do The Police have "dark" songs? Sure, but "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" it's not one of them. Is "Land Down Under" from Men at Work a "dark song"? Unlikely. Maybe "Just what I needed" by The Cars? Don't think so (also, that one's from 1978, so it's not even fom the right decade). How about Duran Duran's "Girls on Film"? Yeah, thematically it is, but musically? I dunno, I think songs like "The Chauffeur" are darker.
How can your "dark playlist" have more U2 songs than songs by The Cure? Or have only one theme by Siouxie and the Banshees, and no sight of, say, Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance or Oingo Boingo. How can you include Talking Heads but leave "Psycho Killer" behind? Or have no metal songs of any kind.
Again, it's not a bad playlist, but it's far from what I would consider a proper showing of "dark 80s" music
#weas que sólo me importan a mi#pero de verdad me molestaba que la playlist no fuera lo suficientemente dark#if it makes sense
