Apuesta ganadora: El X44 gana por primera vez con nueva combinación de pilotos y nuevo partner técnico
Una importante victoria logró el Vida Carbon X44 de Cristina Gutiérrez y Fraser McConnell al quedarse con el triunfo en el primer Hydro X-Prix en Escocia. Es el primer triunfo en una importante apuesta del equipo de Lewis Hamilton al cambiar de soporte técnico a Carlin Racing y subir a Fraser McConnell a reemplazar a Sebastien Loeb. El resultado también le permite al equipo de Cristina meterse de lleno en la lucha por el título.
Después de ver la Clasificación 1 cancelada por niebla, con mejores condiciones se disputó la Clasificación 2 y en su Heat, X44 dominó con claridad mostrándose como favoritos al triunfo. En la Final, una espectacular largada por una línea alterna puso a McConnell puntero en las primeras curvas, pero fue adelantado por Timmy Hansen del Andretti United luego de irse ancho en una frenada.
Hansen y su compañera Catie Munnings liderarían toda la prueba con McConnell y Gutiérrez de escolta, pero una penalización por un mal protocolo durante el cambio de pilotos les quitó el triunfo. Así, la dupla española-jamaiquina se convertía en una nueva pareja triunfadora en 2023.
El podio lo completaron Christine GZ y Timo Scheider del Carl Cox Motorsport en una carrera donde debieron sobrevivir ya que el Ganassi sufrió un pinchazo y el Rosberg X Racing sufrió un fuerte vuelco tras una salida de pista de Johan Kristoffersson.
Con los resultados de hoy, el campeonato queda muy apretado con Acciona Sainz de Laia Sanz y Mattias Ekstrom, ganadores de la Redemption Race para los picados liderando con 56 puntos seguidos de Veloce con 52, X44 con 49 y Rosberg X Racing con 42.
Mañana se disputa otra ronda en Dumfries and Galloway, Escocia.

O que muda na Extreme E em 2024
A principal mudança que a organização anunciou que a temporada de 2024 será a última da Extreme E, más não é o fim totalmente da categoria será uma troca de energia que os carros usam nas baterias, sendo usadas baterias de hidrogênio e sendo renomeada para Extreme H, além de ter a troca para um novo carro.
A ideia inicial era que a Extreme E , e a Extreme H , correrem no mesmo final de semana em grids separados , tendo as baterias de classificação da serie E , logo depois as da serie H , e depois tendo as finais das duas separadas , como é feito nas categorias de rallycross.
Outras mudanças a saída da ABT Cupra , inicialmente ficaram somente 9 equipes , até a entrada da nova equipe Sun Minimal Team .
A X44 Vida Carbon Racing sai da Extreme E em 2024
A Hummer EV Chip Ganassi Racing não estará na Extreme E em 2024, há interesse de retorno para a Extreme H em 2025.
A Carl Cox Motorsport não participara da Extreme E em 2024 pensando na temporada de 2025 da nova Extreme H.
E com a saída demais três equipes da temporada de 2024 , ficaram somente 8 na temporada atual. com a entrada além da sunminimal team , a equipe da Nascar Legacy Motor Club entrara na temporada de 2024.

I really enjoyed your brocedes lore drop, do you have any lore about princess cake that you think people should know?
i could hardly talk about princess cake without mentioning the britney of it all. jenson talked multiple times about how into britney spears he was, how attractive he thought she was, he once even said that if he was stranded on a desert island he would take britney and an ugly man with him so she would sleep with him. he then nicknamed nico that because, and i quote "he was so beautiful". one time when nico and jenson went out clubbing with some of the others (mark, lewis, felipe etc.) jenson called out to nico "hit me baby one more time" and nico immediately got upset. since then jenson has gone on to date and marry a woman called brittny, reaching a stage of the psychosexual cycle that most don't ever get to.
jenson used to dock his yacht (park his yacht? idk the technical term) in the harbour overlooked by nico's building. i have no idea whether it was the most convenient harbour for him or not (although i'm pretty sure he didn't live in the same part of monaco as nico) and there's no indication it made any difference to their lives, but it amuses me. like a gatsbyesque kind of cry for attention.
jenson was a huge fan of triathlons, even organising some for charity i think, and nico also got into them. nico did what (according to jenson) many triathlon lovers do and got into finding ways to reduce his time, including getting a really lightweight bike. he and jenson would talk about that sort of thing leading to (what i consider to be) this iconic "hey jb jb jb" moment. they even competed together in several triathlons, including a charity triathlon they did as a team with alex wurz (jenson did the swim, alex the bike and nico the run).
nico originally wanted to do his extreme e team with jenson. he asked jenson, but jenson had already been looking into it and struggling to find sponsors so nico went off and did his team alone. they eventually both ended up entering teams, and nico's team rxr, lewis's team x44 and jenson's team jbxe ended the first season of extreme e as the top three teams (in that order). nico also later stole jenson's female driver mikaela ahlin-kottulinsky for the second season.
jenson's dad's favourite f1 driver was keke rosberg, so when jenson got the chance to meet keke at the 1998 spanish grand prix he was really excited. in his book he wrote about how irritating he found nico (who was 12) because nico was trying to tug keke away and jenson just wanted nico to leave them alone.
this is them both on that day. i like to think that it really is nico pulling at keke's arm in the second photo.

If anyone is wondering, this tutorial to make this skirt is still a method that works. Both those links are from wayback machine captures from a time before Photobucket betraying us all and deleting pictures.
Yes, I'm still mad about that.
Anyway, in the spirit of seeing if budget lolita was still doable in 2023, here we go with a cost breakdown:
>Main skirt fabric was a $10 walmart 4-yard precut; enough fabric to make waist ties not pictured here >Skirt is fully lined with a polyester bedsheet I got for $1 at a surplus store >The bow lace was part of a bulk purchase, ended up costing 21cents a yard. Skirt probably has 6-8 yards of lace on it. The little vertical strips were scraps from another project. Back shirring on skirt is 1/4" elastic, which covid conveniently made super cheap. >I didn't have the zipper on hand, so I had to buy one for $1 at walmart. As anyone who has been on Wawak knows, that's massively overpaying for zippers.
This skirt is 3" longer and a few sizes larger than the one in the post. I had to make a new cutting layout for the skirt, and it took a fair bit of additional fabric. In addition, to save on fabric width, the "side seams" on this are actually a little bit farther back than the side of the skirt. I cut the back of the skirt to full fabric width, and then added the adjustment for the fullness into the side front pieces. Clarice, who wrote the original tutorial, mentions that the person she made it for was very small, so I sized it up a little bit.
I make sketches like this as I go for personal reference, but maybe it'll be helpful.
In the spirit of livejournal, I "clarified" my sketch by making it more confusing in GIMP. (Your pieces you need to cut will be back: 44"x19.5", cut 1. Side Front, 22"x19.5", cut 2. Center Front, 15"x25.5", cut 1. Frills, 5.5"x44", cut 9 or 10).
So, when we get into it, yeah, if you have a good design (or can copy a good design) and you're willing to put some time into it, you can still do a budget lolita skirt for under $20 of materials, if you're careful. I'm mostly making this post to save which archive.org captures are the ones with working pictures.
(It also helps if you don't mess up on the waistband so many times that it slowly shrinks into a 1" waistband.)
Fun fact: the trim on the ends of the waist ties may or may not be because I hemmed them sloppily and the hem came up bubbly, and zigzagging some lace onto the bottom handily covered up the bubbling. One of the advantages about knowing a decent amount about lolita fashion is that you can look at things and go, "Yeah, if I added x here, it'd be fine," and knowing enough about sewing to go, "yeah, if I do x cheat here, it'll look better" and being able to put the two together and go, "hey, if I cheat here, it'll still look lolita!" It's a good feeling.
Anyway, if anyone else has ever used Clarice's tutorial to make a skirt, I'd love to see it! This is my second time using it, but the last time was almost a decade ago at this point, and I think I've improved a lot since then.

El equipo de Lewis Hamilton tendrá una importante evolución para 2023, cambiando tanto de preparador como de alineación de pilotos luego de obtener el título por lo justo en 2022. Para esta temporada, X44 Vida Carbon Racing se ha asociado con Rodin Carlin, conocido y exitoso equipo de las categorías menores de la Fórmula 1 e intentará seguir rompiendo barreras de integración con nuevos programas de inclusión. Las primeras dos temporadas, X44 estuvo asociado a Prodrive.
En cuanto a los pilotos, Cristina Gutiérrez seguirá en la escudería campeona pero ahora acompañada por Fraser McConnell, piloto jamaicano del Nitro RallyCross que hizo su debut junto a JBXE el año pasado luego de ser piloto de campeonato.
El renovado X44 será dirigido por Stephanie Carlin, que compartirá este cargo con liderar la estructura Rodin Carlin en la nueva categoría femenina F1 Academy. Además de Carlin, el equipo de mecánicos e ingenieros estará formado por integrantes de diversos orígenes buscando aumentar la inclusión en la categoría.
“Después de la victoria de la temporada pasada, estoy muy emocionada de volver a la pista y darlo todo de nuevo por el equipo. Fraser es un joven talento emocionante y tengo muchas ganas de competir con él este año. A equipe do Sir Lewis Hamilton , X44 anunciou ontem que não vai disputar a temporada de 2024 da Extreme E , após três anos na categoria , a equipe que foi campeã em 2022 com a dupla Sebastien Loeb e Cristina Guttierrez , que teve 4 vitórias na categoria , uma na temporada de 2021, e também 2022 e em 2023 duas com a dupla Fraser McConnell e Cristina Guttierrez que terminou a última temporada da 4ª posição.

“Depois de três anos como parte da família Extreme E, anunciamos hoje que o X44 deixará a série. Tivemos três temporadas incríveis competindo como X44, vencendo várias corridas e até um campeonato mundial. “Obrigado aos nossos pilotos Cristina, Fraser e Sebastien, e a todos os nossos talentosos companheiros de equipe que trabalharam duro para nos ajudar a alcançar tudo o que fizemos.
