“Building Sacred Bridges: An Interfaith Musical Experience” marked the end of another successful celebration of UN World Interfaith Harmony Week in Calgary, Alberta. Two concerts, held at the Knox United Church and the Beth Tzedec Congregation, supported the Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta initiative to build affordable homes for local families in need.
Featuring choirs and performers from faith communities throughout Calgary, the concerts included the All God’s Children Choir, consisting of children from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Beth Tzedec Congregation….”…..
3 hours ago I receive a fb notification of an update in the lds news room ; however when I click the notification , the link goes to the desired link - and then changes to the home page of the website , leaving the shortcut that I was trying to access.
It happens fast - if you aren’t looking you wouldn’t even notice it -
It annoys me.
So I google it to find the actual link -
And this is the link - it’s a 5 year old story.
lol.
Weird fact?
I was literally just voicing my testimony of why I joined the church.
The reason that I stated was how the church encouraged interfaith communication and understanding, not to be feared for people to leave - but as a means of having an even deeper understanding of what you know to be true -
If you continually hear the same thing without any questioning , how your your faith ever be tested and how would you ever k ow what is true if you didn’t here what wasn’t to be able to compare that “feeling” to?
They always gave me the agency to question, learn, understand, and choose.
Knowing the unknown.
And I feel like that is exactly how The Savior also deals with me , and exactly how He let’s me come to the understanding of His love for me.
Agency.
What it ultimately is about.
And He always wants me to choose Him.
And so I will 💙💙💙

February 4th is...
Bubble Gum Day - Helps raise money for schools and the charities they support. Students donate 50 cents to be able to chew bubble gum in class on Bubble Gum Day. It wasn’t until 1928 after decades of failure by those before him, and several of his own, that Walter Diemer created the first bubble producing gum. His employer, the Fleer Chewing Gum Company, marketed it as “Dubble Bubble”.
Create A Vacuum Day - Explores spaces void of matter. On this day, we are challenged to create one. A vacuum is created when the pressure inside a space is lower than the pressure outside the area.
Hemp Day - Did you know hemp has been a part of human civilization for thousands of years? The world’s earliest civilizations used hemp fibers to make fabric for clothing and other materials. Even America’s founding fathers drafted early documents on hemp paper. During the last century, leaders used a “Hemp for Victory” campaign during WWII to encourage farmers to grow hemp for military use. Since then, hemp has been an essential material in the innovation of several industries. For example, shipping, construction, and textiles rely on hemp for numerous products. The construction industry started using hemp in place of concrete (known as hempcrete) since it is windproof and offers a lower carbon footprint.
Homemade Soup Day - Before the era of modern transportation, soup was a product of regionally available foods. For this reason, there are thousands of soup recipes available today.
International Day Of Human Fraternity - Seeks to promote cultural and religious tolerance. The day also focuses on interfaith harmony, dialogue, and mutual respect. The word fraternity is defined as a group of people that share common interests. Fraternity also means the state of mutual support within a group. The United Nations hopes people around the world would begin to embrace these ideas. Instead of focusing on our differences, we should focus on what we as human beings have in common.
Thank A Mail Carrier Day - Reminds us that someone makes sure the mail gets through 6 days a week 52 weeks a year. The day reminds us just how important mail carriers are to our daily lives. Take time out of your day to thank the mail carrier responsible for delivering your mail.
Wear Red Day - An annual campaign to raise awareness about heart disease in women. The national campaign urges women to learn their risk for heart disease and to take steps to lower their risk.
World Cancer Day - Every year, 17 million new cases of cancer throughout the world are diagnosed. Cancer will be fatal for nearly 10 million of those who receive this news. By the year 2040, it is estimated that there will be 27.5 million new cases of cancer. The most common cancers include lung, female breast, bowel, and prostate.

Prince Charles stocks up on holy water for royal christenings during tour of Jordan
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have dipped their fingers into the holy waters of the Jordan, in a moment of reflection at the site where Christians believe Jesus was baptised. Later this week, they will fly home to Britain with a “few dozen” bottles of the water for future royal christenings, in a once-in-a-generation souvenir for the Queen’s great-grandchildren. The Prince and Duchess, who on Tuesday arrived in Jordan to begin their first overseas tour since the Covid-19 pandemic, are to fly home with a new supply of the blessed water, which has been used in royal christenings including those of the three Cambridge children and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. The royal couple, who will visit Jordan and Egypt this week, spent time at one of the most important religious sites in the region, walking down to the riverbed to see the spot where Christians believed Jesus Christ was baptised. The UNESCO world heritage site, situated in the Jordan Valley north of the Dead Sea and on the border with Israel, welcomes pilgrims from across the world and has been authenticated by all major Christian church leaders as one of the three holiest sites of Christianity, along with Bethlehem and Jerusalem. During his visit, the Prince went on to call on faith leaders to work together on environmental issues just as they had united for peaceful dialogue between religions. The Prince and his wife held hands as they walked carefully down the well-worn steps to the small pool of water, where they stood for a few moments in quiet reflection before bending forwards to dip their fingers. They also visited nearby Elijah’s Hill, where John the Baptist is said to have lived in a cave and Elijah ascended to heaven in the 9th century BC. The director general of the baptism site, Rustom Mkhjian, said: "They are actually touching a water table described by pilgrims in the 6th century, worn down by hundreds of thousands of feet over the centuries."
Royal christenings steeped in tradition dating back to Queen Victoria
He said the British Embassy had arranged for a “few dozen” bottles of holy water to be sent back to Britain to replenish stores for future Royal baptisms. The bottles will be flown back with the Prince and Duchess on the RAF Voyager, which is now using sustainable aviation fuel. Little has been known about previous deliveries, with royal christening steeped in tradition dating back to Queen Victoria. It includes the use of the Lily Font and a Honiton lace and satin gown - now a replica of the delicate original - first worn by Victoria's eldest daughter. “It is pure water blessed from the spot where Jesus was baptised,” said Mr Mkhjian. “It is holy and blessed from this particular spot in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.” The newest of the Queen’s great-grandchildren - Princess Eugenie’s son August, Princess Beatrice’s daughter Sienna and Zara Tindall’s son Lucas - are due to be christened in the near future. It is not known whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s second child Lilibet will be welcomed in the Church of England in the same way as her older brother, or whether a service will be held in their new home of California. The first day of the Royal visit also saw the Prince take part in an interfaith meeting about religious tolerance and the environment, telling leaders he "prayed with all my heart" that they could lead the way. "You are the people, who are the leaders of your communities, you are the people to remind your flocks of living in harmony with nature," he said. "There is hope. There are ways we can change." Queen Rania of Jordan, wearing stiletto heels, drove the Duchess of Cornwall to visit her children’s centre, which offers help and therapy to refugees, families suffering gender-based violence and vulnerable young women. In a television interview, Queen Rania spoke of concern for the health of the Queen, who has recently been compelled to pull out of several events due to ill health, calling her a “strong woman” who “even at this age is very active”. She said Prince Charles is "a leading figure in the fight for our planet" while “Prince William is just as passionate”. The Prince and Duchess spent part of the afternoon at Al Husseiniya Palace with King Abdullah II, Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, the couple’s 27-year-old son. The Prince of Wales told them: "How hugely we all admire Jordan and your Majesty’s efforts on looking after so many refugees coming from all around the area. Jordan is so unbelievably hospitable – it’s marvellous."

Offended by Jesus? Join the Crowd!
Offended by Jesus? Join the Crowd!
They say you can’t go home again. Maybe that has some truth in it. Or at least sometimes going home can cause discomfort – in both your old hometown friends and family and yourself.
In 1996, it was the 100th anniversary of my home church. As a daughter of the congregation, I was invited to preach at one of the services that anniversary year. Now I have to tell you, that my relationship with that…
