Rajasthan: Rising, Reliable, and Refined — PM Modi at the Rising Rajasthan Summit
Rajasthan, a state known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes, has always been an integral part of India’s development journey. But on December 9, 2024, at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that Rajasthan is not only “Rising,” but also Reliable and ever-evolving, constantly refining itself to meet the challenges of the present and future.
In his address at the summit, PM Modi emphasized the state’s transformation and its growing importance as a global investment and tourism hub. He also acknowledged Rajasthan’s ability to adapt and grow in line with modern global dynamics. Let’s break down the key elements of PM Modi’s speech and understand how Rajasthan is carving a path towards a new era of growth and prosperity.
Rajasthan: Rising with Resilience and Potential
Prime Minister Modi aptly described Rajasthan as “Rising,” referring to its exponential growth in various sectors including infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and tourism. Over the years, the state has made impressive strides in improving its economic landscape, becoming an attractive destination for both national and international investors. With several policy initiatives, including the introduction of investment-friendly reforms and a focus on promoting entrepreneurship, Rajasthan has witnessed a surge in industrial growth.
The state’s initiatives in solar energy, renewable resources, and IT infrastructure are helping Rajasthan claim its space as a leader in sustainable development. Moreover, Rajasthan is emerging as a major contributor to India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision, with its strong potential in areas like mining, textiles, and agriculture.
Rajasthan: Reliable and Trustworthy for Investments
In his speech, PM Modi highlighted that Rajasthan is not just rising, but it is also “Reliable.” This reliability comes from the state’s stable governance, robust legal framework, and a favorable business environment that assures investors of long-term returns. Rajasthan has successfully attracted global businesses, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, and tourism, by offering incentives, subsidies, and a business-friendly ecosystem.
The state’s steady growth and the commitment of the government to maintain transparency and ease of doing business make it a trustworthy destination for foreign investments. Rajasthan is becoming a hub for industries looking for a blend of cost-effectiveness, skilled labor, and vast resources, making it a promising investment hotspot.
Rajasthan: Receptive to Change and Refined with Time
One of the most powerful messages from PM Modi’s speech was that Rajasthan is not static; it is “Receptive” to change and continuously refining its systems and infrastructure to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving world. Whether it’s embracing new technologies, improving urban infrastructure, or fostering a culture of innovation, Rajasthan is adapting to global trends while preserving its traditional values.
The state has shown a remarkable ability to blend its ancient heritage with modern development. From digitalizing its administrative processes to modernizing transportation and energy sectors, Rajasthan is learning to innovate while preserving its rich history and culture. The state’s focus on eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and heritage conservation is a prime example of how Rajasthan is keeping pace with the times while offering something unique to global visitors.
Key Focus Areas of the Rising Rajasthan Summit
The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 provided a platform for government officials, business leaders, and global investors to engage in discussions on various sectors where Rajasthan is poised to excel. PM Modi discussed key focus areas, including:
Renewable Energy — Rajasthan is one of the frontrunners in India’s solar energy revolution, and the state is committed to expanding its renewable energy capacity, making it an energy hub in the country.
Infrastructure Development — With the launch of mega infrastructure projects like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), Rajasthan is well-positioned to become a major manufacturing and logistics center in the coming years.
Tourism — Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage, along with its unique landscapes, makes it an ideal destination for global tourists. PM Modi emphasized the importance of upgrading tourism infrastructure, promoting Rajasthan’s distinctive heritage, and developing newer tourism circuits to further boost the sector.
Agriculture and Agri-Tech — PM Modi also focused on Rajasthan’s agriculture sector, encouraging the state to leverage technology and innovation to improve productivity and create sustainable farming solutions.
Skill Development and Employment — Creating employment opportunities through industrialization, IT development, and tourism, while also focusing on skill development to equip the youth of Rajasthan for the future workforce.
Rajasthan’s Vision for the Future
Rajasthan is showing the world that it is not just a state with a great past, but also one with a bright and dynamic future. Through government initiatives, infrastructural projects, and a thriving business ecosystem, the state is positioning itself as a leading player in India’s growth story.
PM Modi’s speech at the Rising Rajasthan Summit reinforced the idea that Rajasthan is not only “Rising” but is also a reliable and refined state, receptive to new ideas and ever-evolving to meet the demands of the 21st century. With a combination of rich heritage, modern innovation, and sustainable development, Rajasthan is ready to play a central role in India’s economic transformation.
The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 has not only showcased the state’s development achievements but also highlighted the immense potential Rajasthan holds for the future. As PM Modi rightly put it, Rajasthan is “Rising, Reliable, and Refined,” and with continued focus on innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability, the state is well on its way to becoming a global leader in investment, tourism, and economic growth.
Rajasthan’s journey is a testament to how a state can honor its traditions while embracing modernity, and this balance will ensure that the “Land of Kings” remains a force to reckon with on the global stage.

Europe proposing taking the technological lead because of Donald Trump’s climate statements
COGwriter
Europe is very concerned about Donald Trump’s trade proposals:
17 December 2024
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday that the EU must take a pragmatic approach with the incoming Trump administration in order to head off a trade war between Europe and the US.
The EU has been bracing for trade problems ever since the recently re-elected Trump vowed to impose tariffs of 10% to 20% on imports from all foreign countries– https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2024/12/17/italys-pm-meloni-says-eu-must-be-pragmatic-with-trump-to-avoid-us-trade-tensions
But trade is not the only matter that Europeans are concerned about related to Donald Trump. There is also his environmental policies:
Trump 2.0 will hurt planet, open door for America’s green rivals: EU climate chief
In an interview with POLITICO, Teresa Ribera said Donald Trump’s expected climate withdrawal presents an opportunity for others to boost their clean industries.
December 16, 2024
BRUSSELS — Donald Trump trashing United States climate efforts will empower rivals to control the industries of tomorrow, Europe’s top competition and climate official said …
Theresa … Ribera is in her third week as a European Commission executive vice president, https://www.politico.eu/article/teresa-ribera-america-clean-energy-donald-trump-reelection-climate-change-competition/
December 16, 2024
Looking ahead, Ribera envisions a future where Europe emerges as a leader in both the green and digital revolutions, setting ambitious targets to drive innovation and progress. With the EU poised to propose legislation aimed at significantly reducing emissions by 2040, Ribera’s strategic vision aligns with the broader goal of positioning Europe as a global powerhouse in sustainable development. https://motorcyclesports.net/the-shocking-repercussions-of-trumps-climate-policy-reversal-a-green-power-shift-in-favor-of-americas-rivals/
Europe has long wanted to lead the world digitally, and we see EU leaders sometimes publicly voice that.
Regarding climate concerns, Euronews reported the following right after the November 5th 2024 vote:
Trump victory casts shadow over upcoming COP global climate talks
6 November 2024
Donald Trump already pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement to halt global heating once, and his presidential election victory means he could be about to do so again. Many are now looking to the EU to hold the line. …
In his victory speech, president elect Donald Trump made clear his position on fossil fuels: “We have more liquid gold, oil and gas, we have more liquid gold than any country in the world, more than Saudi Arabia. We have more than Russia.” His campaign team signalled in June that he would pull out of the Paris Agreement again.
For many it was already clear that he planned to take a wrecking ball to domestic green policy as well as throwing a spanner in the works of global climate diplomacy. …
EU has ‘moral imperative’
The reaction of many in Europe suggested that incumbent president Joe Biden’s negotiating team – announced just last week – for the COP29 summit in Baku has been transformed into something of a lame duck by the spectre hanging over it of a likely US withdrawal after Trump takes office in January.
“Lack of US leadership does not alter the scientific and moral imperative to immediately address global emissions and build climate resilience,” said Chiara Martinelli, director of Climate Action Network Europe.
“It also doesn’t change the high expectations of the EU to constructively contribute in reaching an agreement in Baku for a new financial goal that meets the scale of the emergency and truly moves resources from the rich to the most climate vulnerable countries, particularly in the global south,” she said.
A major question to be answered in the Azeri capital is the degree to which other powerful and growing economies, and major polluters, will feel less pressure to contribute if they sense the largest economy in the world is about to walk away from the table. https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2024/11/06/trump-victory-casts-shadow-over-upcoming-cop-global-climate-talks
Even though the world HAS NOT been living up to the Paris Accords, the US looks like it will be blamed in the future. Europe will consider that the US is immoral and needs to be eliminated one day, consistent with several biblical prophecies.
As far as being called immoral for that, notice something I warned about in my January 2017 book Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse:
Donald Trump does not seem to think there is any climate problem.[i] But many who do believe there are climate problems tend to equate them with fossils fuels, not biblically-immoral behavior (other than greed). …
Donald Trump’s view of climate change is expected to set up some type of issue between the USA and Europe. Europe will tend to see the USA as an irresponsible polluter of the planet, while Europe will claim to be the protector that the world needs.
[i] Eilperin J. Trump says ‘nobody really knows’ if climate change is real. Washington Post, December 11, 2016
Fox News reported the following:
December 16, 2024
President-elect Donald Trump has indicated that he would withdraw the U.S. from a global climate change agreement when he assumes office …
those in favor of Trump releasing the U.S. from the agreement tell Fox News Digital that there would be many benefits to a second withdrawal.
“The benefits of exiting the Paris climate agreement are many, first and foremost reclaiming U.S. sovereignty while respecting the rule of law,” said H. Sterling Burnett, Director of the Arthur B. Robinson Center on Climate and Environmental Policy at the Heartland Institute.
“Paris encourages the U.S. to agree to emission reductions that are both unnecessary from a climate perspective, since we don’t control the climate, but which do place substantial costs on Americans while putting the nation at a competitive and geopolitical disadvantage to China, which emits more than double the U.S. with no firm reduction commitments,” he added. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/potential-second-withdrawal-from-paris-climate-treaty-under-trump-could-look-different-than-first-u-s-exit
The reelection of Donald Trump has served to accelerate certain steps in Europe.
For saying he would pull the USA out of the Paris Accords (which he later did), the USA was declared “rogue nation” back in 2017. Related to that the Continuing Church of God is put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
youtube
17:19
The USA Declared a ‘Rogue Nation’!
Because of US President Donald Trump’s position on ‘climate change’ as well as certain executive orders from him, the USA has been declared a rogue nation by various ones in Europe, Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world. How does Webster’s Dictionary define ‘rogue’? Is it possible that considering that the USA is a rogue nation will be part of the justification for it getting taken over in the future? What does the Vatican want done? Does the Bible teach that friends, who do not mean to takeover the USA will one day destroy it? Might ‘climate change’ be part of a false gospel?
Here is a link to our video: The USA Declared a ‘Rogue Nation’!
The USA may be considered as a “rogue nation” again.
One that the Europeans will consider need to be punished (cf. Isaiah 10:5-12).

HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
DEC 13
Ten days ago, on December 2, President Joe Biden arrived in Angola, the first U.S. president to visit central Africa since President Barack Obama traveled there in 2015. In the United States, the story got lost under the president’s pardon of his son Hunter Biden, but it is the far more important one, since events in the 54 countries on the continent of Africa are key to the global future.
The Biden administration has made it a point to strengthen relations between the U.S. and Africa. It recognizes the importance of a continent whose 1.5 billion people are expected to climb to 2.5 billion in the next 25 years, as Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post pointed out last Thursday. The median age of Africa’s inhabitants is 19, and by 2050 it is expected that one out of every four humans on Earth will be African.
The administration has worked to ease African distrust of the U.S. stemming from its history of enslavement, its tendency to back right-wing forces during the post–World War II and Cold War period when African nations threw off colonial rule, and the disdain with which Trump treated African countries during his administration.
The Biden administration hosted the U.S.-Africa leaders' summit in December 2022, backed the admission of the African Union to the Group of 20, and pledged more than $6.5 billion to the continent to aid security, support democratic institutions, and advance civil rights and the rule of law.
During Biden’s term, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield, First Lady Jill Biden, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have all visited the continent. In March 2023, Vice President Kamala Harris visited Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia.
In Angola last week, Biden said that the U.S. is “all-in on Africa.”
He was in Angola to highlight the Lobito Corridor, a development project centered around a rail line linking the port of Lobito, Angola, on Africa’s Atlantic coast, with the city of Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), in Africa’s interior mining region. Biden traveled to Angola for a summit on the Lobito project as well as other infrastructure investment in the region, joining leaders from Angola, DRC, Tanzania, and Zambia on their own continent to demonstrate his conviction that the African people themselves must determine their own future.
The White House, other democratic countries, regional development banks, and international investors have put more than $6 billion behind the Lobito Corridor. They are hoping to ease the transport of critical minerals from interior countries like Zambia and DRC to Lobito. It currently takes a truck about 45 days to make the journey from the interior to Durban, South Africa; the railway would cut the trip out of the interior to about 45 hours.
The railway will strengthen global supply chains for those minerals while also benefiting local people, local governments, and the local region in Angola, Zambia, and DRC. The project includes investments in clean energy, agriculture, trade between countries, and clearing the mines from Angola’s decades-long civil war along the route, all of which will create good jobs for local workers.
“It’s a game-changer. Imagine how transformative this will be for technology, clean energy, for farming, for food security as a whole. It’s faster, it’s cleaner, it’s cheaper and most importantly, I think, it’s just plain common sense,” Biden said at the summit.
The Lobito Corridor is the flagship project of a new investment program from the Group of Seven (G7) called the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII). The G7 is a forum of advanced economies that share values of liberal democracy, and the PGII is the answer to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which has invested billions in infrastructure in developing African countries but brings with it the risk of debt traps for the governments that borrow from it. PGII is designed to connect democratic countries, the private sector, and development banks to create sustainable and transparent investment in quality infrastructure.”
On December 5, Eugene Robinson noted in the Washington Post that Republicans are blasting Biden’s announcement last Tuesday of $1 billion in additional humanitarian aid to 31 African countries to address famine and displacement. Biden said that this help was “the right thing for the wealthiest nation in the world to do,” and Robinson noted that it is also smart. “Ultimately, it will be Nigerians, South Africans, Ethiopians, Angolans and the people of other African nations who decide the continent’s future,” he wrote. “They will remember who was there beside them all along. And who was not.”
Russia has also been working to gain influence in Africa with an eye to extracting the continent's valuable minerals. It turned to the continent after Putin’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine began to isolate Russia from other nations and their resources. The Russian Wagner Group of mercenary fighters has been a key player in Africa since then, often called in by authoritarian leaders to suppress political opposition in exchange for access to mines or other valuable resources. Russia has become the biggest supplier of arms to the continent.
The fall of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad threatens Russia’s ability to continue to operate in Africa. As Mike Eckel of Radio Free Europe explained on Monday, Russia launches most of its African operations from the Hmeimim air base and the Tartus naval base on the Mediterranean coast of Syria. Their loss would hamstring those operations. Russian officials are trying to negotiate with the insurgents who overturned Assad’s regime in order to secure those bases as well as Russia’s other footholds in the country. They have gone from calling the insurgents “terrorists” to referring to them as “armed opposition,” and Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Putin has no plans for a public meeting with Assad.
The Syrian ambassador in Moscow told Russian media: “The escape of the head of this system in such a miserable and humiliating manner…confirms the correctness of change and brings hope for a new dawn.” Former Russian and Soviet diplomat Nikolai Sokov told Pjotr Sauer of The Guardian: “Moscow prefers to deal with those who have power and control, [and] discards those who lose them.” But, as the Institute for the Study of War noted, Russia’s inability to preserve Assad’s regime will make the African autocrats see it as an unreliable partner, an impression the Kremlin’s rapid about-face will do little to relieve.
On Monday, a senior administration official emphasized the same idea of self-determination that Biden’s administration applied to development in African countries. He told reporters that Assad’s collapse “is a day for Syrians, about Syrians. It’s not about the United States or anyone else. It’s about the people of Syria who now have a chance to build a new country, free of the oppression and corruption of the Assad family and decades of misrule. We owe them support as they do so, and we are prepared to provide it. But the future of Syria, like the fall of Assad today, will be written by Syrians for Syrians.”
That system, the official suggested, caused Assad’s fall. “[I]t is impossible not to place this week’s events in the context of the decisions the President has made to fully back Israel against Iran and its proxy terrorist groups, including Hezbollah, and Ukraine against Russia,” the official said. After bipartisan support for that position, the official added, “Hamas is on its back; its leaders are dead. Iran is on its back. Hezbollah is on its back. Russia is on its back. It’s just abandoned its only ally in the Middle East. Now, the Assad regime, Russia and Iran’s main ally in the Middle East, has just collapsed. None of this would have been possible absent the direct support for Ukraine and [Israel] in their own defense provided by the United States of America.”
The official recounted the importance of sanctions against the Assad regime and noted that the U.S. has maintained a military presence in Syria to counter the Islamic extremists of ISIS, targeting 75 ISIS targets immediately after Assad’s fall to ensure that ISIS does not regroup in the chaos of the moment.
The official noted that the administration still believes there is a path to a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza, especially in the wake of Assad’s fall and the “dramatically changed balance of power in the region”—“a path…to a Middle East that is far more stable, far more aligned with our interests, and far more aligned with the interests of the people of the Middle East who want to live in peace, without wars, and in prosperity in a region that is more integrated and prosperous and peaceful.”
Today, Secretary of State Blinken traveled to Jordan and Türkiye, where he met with King Abdullah II and President Recep Tayyip Erodğan to promote an “inclusive, Syrian-led” government transition in Syria.
Journalist Mike Eckel noted that “[t]he fall of the Assad regime this past weekend was a tectonic event, reverberating across the entire Middle East and further.” Considering the ties of Russia to Syria, and the role Syrian bases have played in Russian influence in Africa, those reverberations will, in some form, echo across the African continent.

Climate Change and Public Health: The Emerging Crisis
Climate change is no longer just an environmental concern; it has become one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. From heatwaves to the spread of infectious diseases, the impacts of climate change on human health are profound and far-reaching. In this blog, we will explore the connections between climate change and public health and discuss what can be done to mitigate these effects.
How Climate Change Impacts Public Health
1. Rising Temperatures and Heat-Related Illnesses
Global temperatures are rising, leading to more frequent and intense heatwaves. This results in heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke, particularly among vulnerable populations like the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions.
2. Spread of Infectious Diseases
Warmer climates and shifting weather patterns are expanding the habitats of disease-carrying vectors like mosquitoes and ticks. Diseases such as malaria, dengue, and Lyme disease are spreading to regions previously unaffected.
3. Poor Air Quality
Increased temperatures and pollution contribute to poor air quality, exacerbating respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Wildfires, fueled by dry and hot conditions, release particulate matter harmful to lung health.
4. Food and Water Insecurity
Climate change disrupts agriculture and water systems, leading to food and water shortages. This insecurity can result in malnutrition, dehydration, and the spread of waterborne diseases.
5. Mental Health Impacts
Extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, and wildfires cause trauma and stress. Displacement and loss of livelihoods due to climate change further exacerbate mental health issues.
What Can Be Done?
Addressing the public health impacts of climate change requires collaborative efforts at the individual, community, and global levels. Here are some steps:
1. Advocacy for Climate Policies
Support policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, transitioning to renewable energy, and promoting sustainable practices.
2. Strengthening Public Health Systems
Invest in health infrastructure and early warning systems to better respond to climate-related health emergencies.
3. Community Engagement
Educate communities on the health risks associated with climate change and encourage practices such as planting trees and conserving water.
4. Personal Action
Adopt eco-friendly habits such as reducing waste, using public transportation, and conserving energy to lower your carbon footprint.

+ “Living the life that you love and loving the life that you live is the truest demonstration of abundance.” ~ Lisa Nichols
2024 | A Year in Review
As I reflect on 2024, I am reminded of Lisa Nichols’ profound words: “Living the life that you love and loving the life that you live is the truest demonstration of abundance.” This year has been a journey of growth, creativity, and joy—a tapestry woven with milestones, moments of learning, and the privilege of helping others discover their greatness.
Celebrating Creativity and Connection The year began with a burst of energy in March, as LCI Melbourne’s Graduate Fashion & Costume Design runway event became a standout highlight of PayPal’s Melbourne Fashion Festival. Witnessing our final-trimester students showcase their raw, authentic creativity to packed matinee and evening audiences was a moment of deep pride and inspiration. It was the culmination of their hard work, passion, and innovative spirit.
Around the same time, Game Changers Series Sixteen launched with an extraordinary lineup of thinkers, educators, and creatives, including:
Professor Bill Lucas – Chair of the Global Institute of Creative Thinking,
Lamis Sabra – Associate Director, Creativity, Culture & Education (CCE),
Pip Cleaves – Associate Principal, Global Village Learning,
Michael Anderson – Co-Founder of 4C Transformative Learning,
Susie Wise – Author of Design for Belonging,
Russel Howcroft – Advertising Guru and Broadcaster,
Mykel Dixon – Author of Everyday Creatives
Each conversation delved into what it means to lead, learn, and inspire in today’s complex world. Surpassing 800,000 listens was a powerful reminder of the resonance of storytelling and the shared human experience.
Milestones and Impactful Moments March brought another milestone as our book, Game Changers: Leading Today’s Learning for Tomorrow’s World, became a bestseller, sharing its message far and wide. In partnership with PauseFest, LCI Melbourne hosted The Future of Business is Creative during Melbourne Design Week. This event emphasised creativity as a vital compass for addressing global challenges, from climate change to an ageing population.
June’s Intermission exhibition showcased the creative journeys of Bachelor of Design Arts students at their midpoint. The displays radiated not only their talent but also the incredible potential that lies ahead for each of them.
Leadership and Learning: Paving New Paths Mid-year, I had the honour of presenting LCI Melbourne’s groundbreaking Student Success Strategy at the National Education Summit. Later, I facilitated a Design Thinking for Learning masterclass at the Catholic Secondary Deputy Principal’s Association (CSDPA) conference in Western Australia. Working alongside passionate educators to navigate complexity and change was a humbling and enriching experience.
August’s Open Day featured an inspiring Creative Careers Panel with leaders such as Ty Henschke, Sophia D’Urso, David Constantine, and Ashleigh Falconer. Their insights into turning creativity into a fulfilling career left a lasting impression on attendees and on me.
Another cherished moment was MCing The Connection Curriculum book launch at LCI Melbourne, followed by an invitation to join Philip Murdoch on The Tattooed Teacher Podcast.
Sharing Stories and Sparking Conversations In November, I presented at The Second Arab International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education on Rethinking Education in the Age of AI: Unlocking Human Potential in an AI-Driven World. This experience highlighted the urgent need to blend technological innovation with human-centered creativity—a theme that resonates deeply with LCI Melbourne’s “Different By Design” philosophy.
November also marked the launch of LCI Melbourne’s partnership with Football Australia, opening doors to new opportunities for our students. Returning to The Art of Teaching podcast and preparing for the Pedagogy of Encounter workshop for ReimaginED24 rounded out a month rich in meaningful connections and conversations.
Moments of Reflection and Gratitude Amid these milestones were quieter, deeply personal moments. Writing 40 entries for Permission Is Triumph offered a space for reflection and growth, while continuing to care for my 90-year-old mother reaffirmed the importance of love, service, and family. Her resilience in the wake of her stroke has been a profound reminder of the strength we find in connection.
As I stand on the threshold of 2025, Lisa Nichols’ words remain a guiding light: “Living the life that you love and loving the life that you live is the truest demonstration of abundance.” The year ahead is a blank canvas, ready to be painted with our dreams, aspirations, and the beauty of everyday life.
Go gently, my friends. Know you are enough. And always remember to be kind.

Top
Top,
The word "top" often represents the pinnacle of achievement, the height of success, or the best in any category. It signifies a point where effort, talent, and dedication converge to create something exceptional. Whether it’s about reaching the top of a mountain, being at the top of a class, or showcasing the top products in a specific industry, the concept of “top” inspires people to aim higher and achieve greatness.
Climbing to the Top
The journey to the top is rarely easy. It involves challenges, perseverance, and an unwavering focus on goals. From athletes pushing themselves to win championships to professionals striving for leadership roles in their fields, the climb demands consistent effort and resilience.
One of the greatest rewards of reaching the top is the perspective it offers. Much like standing on the summit of a mountain, achieving the top provides a clearer view of possibilities and a sense of accomplishment that motivates others.
Top Trends in 2024
The word "top" also reflects what’s current and noteworthy. For instance, here are some top trends that are shaping the world this year:

Cultural Movements: Global conversations around mental health, inclusion, and sustainability are gaining momentum, becoming top priorities for individuals and organizations alike.
Entertainment: Streaming platforms dominate the entertainment world, with top shows like [insert a trending title] capturing audiences globally.
Top Qualities of Leaders
Being at the top often means leading others. Great leaders embody qualities such as vision, empathy, and integrity. They inspire their teams to perform at their best, creating a culture of excellence and innovation.
Staying at the Top
Reaching the top is one thing; staying there is another challenge entirely. It requires constant learning, adaptability, and a willingness to reinvent oneself. Industries evolve, competitors emerge, and trends shift—those at the top must be agile and forward-thinking to maintain their position.
Conclusion
“Top” is more than just a position—it’s a mindset. It encourages people to pursue their passions, overcome obstacles, and continuously strive for improvement. Whether you’re aiming for personal growth, professional success, or societal change, embracing the essence of "top" can propel you toward greatness.
So, what’s your top goal, and how are you planning to achieve it?

The name of the episode is taken directly from the title of a recent report bearing the same name released by the Deputy Head of the National Energy Security Fund. It shows that the sanctions slapped on Russia by the G7 have backfired spectacularly and have created massive opportunities with other nations who share a desire to bypass the marketplaces controlled by the American empire.
The 2024 BRICS Summit in Kazan wrapped up in late October with a directive to find a way around the Western-led SWIFT banking system, with a CBDC proposed as the solution. Putin also teased a mocked-up BRICS banknote to prep the world for the possibility of a regional gold-backed currency sometime in the future.

12 November 2024: Deputising for King Abdullah II, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II participated in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) hosted by Azerbaijan in Baku.
Crown Prince Hussein delivered Jordan’s address at COP29, which is held with the participation of heads of state from around the world, as well as heads of delegation and representatives of international and economic organisations.
“In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful,
On behalf of Jordan, I thank His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev and the people and government of Azerbaijan for hosting this important summit.
We have gathered here under the banner of solidarity: The family of nations joining as one to protect the planet we share.
We all know that without common action, we are destined to fall short.
Yet, we meet at a moment when faith in our ability to stand together is broken. When global norms, including the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions, are being flouted with impunity. When trust in the international community to stand up for its own values has collapsed. When humanitarian violations are broadcast daily, for the whole world to see, yet continue to be ignored and dismissed without consequence.
Saving our planet must start from the premise that all lives are worth saving.
The solidarity we need depends on embracing that truth.
Yet, over the past 13 months, the world has stood by as thousands of Palestinians have been killed in Gaza—the majority women and children.
How can we work together for our shared future, when some are deemed unworthy of one?
The ongoing violence in my region undermines peace and security beyond its borders. In the end, this will benefit no one.
My part of the world is already exposed to the harsh realities of climate change—to heat, to drought, to loss of biodiversity.
The war is compounding environmental challenges, for Gaza and beyond.
A recent United Nations Environment Programme study highlighted contamination of land, water, and air. Sewage and waste management systems have been destroyed. Entire communities are now graveyards of debris.
Another study found that rebuilding Gaza will result in total emissions higher than the annual emissions of more than 135 countries.
An inclusive, just approach to the climate challenge requires that we address the links between climate, peace, and security.
Nowhere is this clearer than among global refugee communities and their hosts, who are some of the most vulnerable to climate change.
During COP27, His Majesty King Abdullah II launched the global Climate-Refugee Nexus Initiative. Fifty-eight countries have signed on to date—and we invite others to join.
One in every three people living in Jordan is a refugee, and our infrastructure is feeling the strain. We face rising demand on stressed resources and services, including water, health, and education.
And while we in Jordan have made significant strides in clean energy, water conservation, and climate-smart agriculture, these efforts are not enough.
We need to rally communities around climate action and secure a better future for our youth and generations to come.
In my country, we are implementing climate policies while grappling with the impacts of conflict, yet we cannot solve these twinned crises alone.
As our Summit works toward a New Collective Quantified Goal, we must prioritize refugee-hosting countries, especially those in climate hotspots, and ensure that global climate financing mechanisms uphold accountability and transparency for all.
Just as urgently, we must rebuild trust in the international community itself, and acknowledge past failures. Our inability to collectively do what is right is turning us into passive observers… fully aware, yet unwilling to act.
As His Majesty King Abdullah II has said, no one is a bystander in the fight for life on Earth.
That means fighting against climate change, fighting for peace, and fighting to alleviate human suffering together.
Because every life is worth fighting for.
Thank you.”
The Jordanian delegation to COP29 included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Environment Minister Muawieh Radaideh, Planning Minister Zeina Toukan, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Omar Nahar.

Lisbon: Capital of Innovation. Navalny Memorial in Lisbon. 4,000 Strong. Fundraising for Ukraine.
You are watching the news from the weekly rally at the Russian Embassy in Lisbon. Today is November 16, 2:30 PM.
Two weeks after last year’s Web Summit, the European Commission declared Lisbon the European Capital of Innovation for 2024. https://eic.ec.europa.eu/eic-prizes/european-capital-innovation-awards/european-capital-innovation-awards-icapital-2023-winners/lisbon-portugal_en
We join Lisbon Mayor Carlos Moedas in congratulating those who gathered at the Web Summit this week. We also echo his call for those who have achieved success to give back to society and help improve lives. https://www.youtube.com/live/12P1ocHOvCg?t=1272
On November 12, politician Yulia Navalnaya spoke at the Web Summit. She emphasized the responsibility of tech companies to participate in the fight for democracy and access to truthful information rather than solely pursuing profits. She highlighted Apple’s removal of hundreds of VPN apps in Russia as an example—a topic we have discussed in previous videos. Alongside Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo López, she called for opposition movements from countries with authoritarian regimes to unite against collaborating dictatorships. https://www.youtube.com/live/37ZyhwgYqCY?t=21532
That same day, Navalnaya attended the opening of a memorial for Alexei Navalny, which was installed at a legally approved distance from the Russian Embassy. We hope Alexei’s memory inspires Russians to fight for freedom from Putinism and to work toward a peaceful, forward-thinking future for their country. https://adrl.pt/navalny-memorial/en
For more details on why this memorial is significant and how Putinism endangers the world, read my article in Sapo 24. https://24.sapo.pt/atualidade/artigos/navalny-continua-a-inspirar-coragem-russos-expatriados-colocam-memorial-em-frente-a-embaixada-da-federacao-russa-em-lisboa
Last weekend, Berlin hosted the fourth conference of the Anti-War Committee, with our representative in attendance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsaz5wCDjqA
The conference resolution called for transparency about the sponsors of anti-war organizations, stressed the importance of aiding victims of the war in Ukraine, and cautioned against letting the fight against propaganda devolve into propaganda itself. https://antiwarcommittee.info/rezolyucziya-konferenczii-antivoennogo-komiteta-ot-10-noyabrya-2024-g/
Regarding transparency in our own funding, we receive no grants for our work, which we do in our free time and at our own expense. Donations go toward specific projects, and none of our labor is paid. To counter Putin’s propaganda, we share truthful information and provide verified sources. We also extend our gratitude to our 4,000 supporters in Portugal and Russia for valuing our work. https://adrl.pt/
Together with activists in other countries, we continue raising funds for portable power stations requested by hospitals and schools in Ukraine. With sub-zero temperatures already gripping the country, we urgently need to meet the €100,000 goal. https://antiwarcommittee.info/en/energy-for-life/
Please also support the Emile Foundation (formerly the Orphans Feeding Foundation), which is dedicated to returning Ukrainian children abducted by Russian authorities. https://www.every.org/orphans-feeding-foundation/f/help-us-return-the-deported

What Trump can do to reverse US climate policy − and what he probably can’t change - Gautam Jain
Trump attends a session of the United Nations Climate Action Summit in 2019. When he announced he would pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate agreement in 2017, he said he would try to renegotiate the global agreement to make it what he considered more fair to the U.S. AP Photo/Evan Vucci
As the U.S. prepares for another Trump administration, one area unambiguously in the incoming president’s crosshairs is climate policy.
Although he has not released an official climate agenda, Donald Trump’s playbook from his last stint in the Oval Office and his frequent complaints about clean energy offer some clues to what’s ahead.
Exiting the Paris climate agreement
Less than six months into his first presidency, Trump in 2017 formally announced that he was withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate accord – the 2015 international agreement signed by nearly every country as a pledge to work toward keeping rising temperatures and other impacts of climate change in check.
This time, a greater but underappreciated risk is that Trump will not stop at the Paris Agreement.
In addition to exiting the Paris Agreement again, Trump could try to withdraw the United States from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The 1992 treaty is the foundation for international climate talks. A withdrawal from that treaty would make it nearly impossible for a future administration to reenter the UNFCCC treaty because doing so would require the consent of two-thirds of the Senate.
The reverberation of such a step would be felt around the world. While the Paris Agreement is not legally binding and is based on trust and leadership, the stance taken by the world’s largest economy affects what other countries are willing to do.
It would also hand the climate leadership mantle to China.
U.S. funding to help other countries scale up clean energy and adapt to climate change rose significantly during the Biden administration.
The first U.S. International Climate Finance Plan provided US$11 billion in 2024 to help emerging and developing economies. And commitments from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation surged to almost $14 billion in the first two years of Biden’s presidency, versus $12 billion during the four years of Trump. Biden also pledged $3 billion to the United Nations’ Green Climate Fund.
Under President Trump, all these efforts will likely be scaled back again.
Targeting clean energy might not be so simple
In other areas, however, Trump may be less successful.
He has been vocal about rolling back clean energy policies. However, it may be harder for him to eliminate the Biden administration’s massive investments in clean energy, which are interwoven with much-needed investments in infrastructure and manufacturing in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Since both are laws that Congress passed, Trump would need majorities in both Houses to repeal them.
Even if Republicans end up with a trifecta – controlling both houses of Congress and the White House – repealing these laws will be challenging. That’s because the laws’ benefits are flowing heavily to red states. Trump’s allies in the oil and gas industry also benefit from the law’s tax credits for carbon capture, advanced biofuels and hydrogen.
However, while the Inflation Reduction Act may not be repealed, it will almost certainly be tweaked. The tax credit to consumers who buy electric vehicles is likely on the chopping block, as is the EPA regulation tightening tailpipe pollution standards, making battery-powered cars uneconomical for many.
Trump may also slow the work of the Department of Energy’s Loan Program Office, which has helped boost several clean energy industries. Again, this is not a surprise – he did it in the first term – except that the impact would be greater given that the office’s lending capacity has since skyrocketed to over $200 billion, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act. So far, only about a quarter of the total has been doled out, so there is a rush to ramp up the pace before the new administration starts in January.
