A man regails a prostitute with stories connected to the motel room they stay in...
Well...uh...hmm.
As far as extreme horror goes it could be worse. Gross but palatable, in my own sense mind you. I knew where it was going but the description was much worse. Absolutely bananas. A real "wtf did I just read" story. Can't say I'm a huge fan of shock horror like this but these books are testing my limits for sure. And that alone is an adventure lol
Tiktok definitely influenced me to read this one. Every review I saw of it was intriguingly vague made me curious. I was also unfamiliar with "extreme horror" as a book genre until this little gem. Wow. Another wild ride. I love how all the little stories within this book were related but you didn't know exactly how until the end. But each story was so good on it's own and so graphic and icky in the best way. The end was hilariously gross and I told my partner aaaalll about it when I was done because I couldn't just keep this information to myself. I think this was a wonderful introduction to the genre for me, and I'm looking forward to exploring the it more and checking out more from this author.
Favorite quote:
"Some places hold the pain in their walls, in the carpet snags, in the cracks of the ceiling, and chinks in the baseboards."
These two books are relatively short, both under 150 pages.
Everyone really hyped up Things, and I was kind of let down. That being said it is not an easy read if you have a weak stomach and get queasy at gross stuff.
However, Woom? I'd only heard a few people talk about it and I really had no idea what I was getting into. I loved it. There were a few sections where I was physically squirming cause it grossed me out, and I'm not easily bothered usually. I did however figure out the twist towards the middle of the book, but it was still worth the read.
Got a really awful email from my 'sperm donor' I cut contact with over 2 years ago, so just in case anyone is questioning what's what after being in an abusive situation, Tom with Game Theory makes an EXCELLENT point in the Indigo Park theory
(clip title context, QED is a statement sometimes used in court to wrap up a statement as essentially irrefutable)
Woom: An Extreme Psychological Horror Novel, by Duncan Ralston
Angel is a tall dark and spooky man that has rented dusty motel room number 6. He hires a sex worker Shyla to tell her 7 gross stories that seem to all have something in common.
I read this last year hoping for a gross and shocking number of short stories and all I found was a retelling of a young 4chan. I know not everyone had unsupervised internet access at 13/14 but because I did, I could predict exactly where this story went, which was disappointing. It was a nice quick read though and I would recommend if your just starting to get into splatter punk/ gross real life.
⚠️Read at your own risk this book contains graphic content ⚠️
this was a past assumption but. bestie for the longest time i thought you were a past animator of the show and that sandro was a character that got cut
I think ive gotten this one a few times bc of my NLTL animations ? Then people pay closer attention and realize that is Not True
I think Hawks' pupils should do that creepy shrinking thing parrot eyes do. I think it'd be funny if nobody told him but they're all very much unnerved.
