You were tough all of your life. You had to be, everyone who was supposed to care always let you down so you needed to care about yourself and protected yourself emotionally to keep from letting people hurt you any more than you dealt with your entire life.

Meeting Logan was the best and yet somehow most difficult thing you've ever had to deal with. You loved him more than any man you had ever been with, but being with a man that cared about you more than even your family did was a hard thing to come to terms with. No matter how many times you tried to get a rile out of him to argue with you, or if you tried to provoke him, or whatever you did to try and get him to make him see that you were too cold to be with someone it didn't work.

He never yelled. Never got anything more than annoyed. He didn't ignore you or walk away and never looked back. Nothing that you expected.

It was so frustrating, why wouldn't he be like everyone else and walk away? Why wouldn't he take the hint? One day you just couldn't take it any more and just screamed at him to leave you alone, basically pouring your heart out on why you couldn't understand what he saw in you.

You were struggling so bad mentally and always put up this facade and he wouldn't fall for it in the slightest, and that absolutely killed you. And yet even after all that he just stared at you and let you get everything off your chest before pulling you into his arms to your surprise.

You thought this out be his last straw. Finally seeing you weren’t as tough as you made everyone believe. But no. Instead he comforted you. You never knew what to expect from the older man, but this certainly wasn’t it.

You were so relieved that the two of were in your place because a sudden wave of exhaustion hit your body as your tears started to lessen.

His large hand grabbed yours and led you upstairs to your bedroom. It was like second nature for him to take care of you. As much as you usually fought him to not “baby” you the energy just wasn’t you. It was quiet between the two of you.

It wasn’t necessarily a bad silence but you just felt so vulnerable after finally being honest to not only Logan but yourself why you couldn’t accept his love as much as you wanted.

Logan’s hand lightly traced your back, feeling every stretch mark as he helped you out of your shirt so you could switch into pajamas. His eyes move down to yours and saw you were still kind of out of it, yet tears remained in your eyes. He tilted your chin so you were looking up at him, a soft sob finally escaping your lips.

Repeating apologies over and over for constantly trying to push him away and making it seem as if you didn’t love him. You could barely get anything out though. Your words were mixed with your cries making it hard to understand.

He shushed you by pressing his lips against yours. Pulling back after what felt like forever. At that moment you finally knew what he was trying to say with just the look that he gave you. He was there. And he wasn’t going anywhere, ever.

“You wanna lay down bub?”

A small shaky nod was all you could muster up hips letting him finally do what he wanted to since you got together.
