au/fix where the sabretooth that gets sent down to the pit and does the sabretooth war stuff is uhmmm just a clone. its the clone plot again. for the 3rd time.

i mean im kinda torn on this since sabretooth 2022 + sabretooth and the exiles did have some good moments. its just the ending and everything that happened after that was. weird. and off.

so maybe before the pit, the clone was doing some Evil clone stuff, but being in the pit triggered some genuine memories for the clone, allowing for it to have a brief period of victors actual self. then, by the end of sabretooth and the exiles, that wore off, and he reverted back to normal Evil clone. that would also give a good reason for the brief moments in sabretooth war that felt ‘real’ being at the same time he was remembering things, his actual self slipping through again. fuck now im feeling kinda bad for this hypothetical sabretooth clone…..

meanwhile, the real sabretooth(inverted) is chilling at home, watching this go down from the outside. cuz like, lets be real, his friends wouldnt just leave him in that reverted state at the end of weapon x 2017. they would absolutely kick some ass in order to get him back to normal. and i bet it was weird for him to hear about the graydon thing too, seeing as hes now got a solid relationship with his own graydon.

oh. and ben percys wolverine is totally a clone too. cuz he just seems so different from the wolverine in infinity watch.

and the real ones are definitely living together.

anyway, extra -> tbh the whole percy run feels like an au to me. mostly due to the way both of their memories are handled, wolverines especially, as shown in x lives / x deaths. its a mashup of a bunch of different wolverine runs, but with the authors own spin on them.

its kinda representative how every new wolverine run is like their own au, each author taking bits and pieces of canon as needed, but also slightly rewriting them to fit their personal take. bit like a game of telephone, plot points getting forgotten over time as new authors dont bring them along, and other authors ideas getting remixed. especially in the earlier days, when runs were way longer, plot points getting abandoned in their own run.

a good example of this comes from return of wolverine and infinity watch, which are both considered ‘canon’, but due to their length are never referenced again. and even though infinity watch is an immediate sequel to return of wolverine, the concept introduced in that run where wolverine has all the different versions and variants of wolverine in his head wasnt ever mentioned.

its like the previous stories set up new plots only for the future ones to drop them. like how weapon x 2017s ending of sabretooth being reverted back to a ‘feral’ state never gets elaborated on later, despite seeming like something that would lead into a new arc.

all different stories, all somehow labeled as canon.

Wolverine is on the way to a certain destination when he is stopped over by Apex (Otherone, a.k.a Prince of Power or Powerstone) who is now in his fight-happy mode. Apex has been looking for anyone who has the Infinity Stone and he assumed that Wolverine had one. Wolverine tries to tell him that he is not in his fighting mood but he gets punched by the crown prince of Muscula. As Apex reels from feeling the hardness of Wolverine's adamantium bones, Multitude warns him not to pick a fight with Wolverine. Multitude tries to reason with Wolverine and Apex but the latter does not listen to the robot boy and instead, he keeps picking a fight with the mutant. As Apex keeps hitting Wolverine, the bridge is starting to collapse and the bystanders are in danger. Wolverine is thrown off the bridge but he manages to climb back up by using his claws.

Just as Apex holds Wolverine down, Multitude distracts him with a holographic image of Hulk so that Wolverine could get the bystanders to safety. Angry that he had been interrupted from the fight, Apex impulsively throws Multitude off the bridge. Without Multitude the Soul Stone user around, Apex feels the Soul Stone boost fade and he has a slight feeling of regret for throwing his new friend. Apex's feeling of regret is interrupted by Wolverine who is angry with him for endangering his friend and the civilians around him. The brutal fight continues until Multitude distracts Wolverine with a conjured image of Rose O'Hara the childhood friend and old lover of Wolverine. Somehow, Multitude managed to return to the bridge and he tries to stop them from fighting. Just as Apex was about to hit Wolverine, Multitude distracts him with the ghosts of the inhabitants of Planet Muscula. The Ghosts of Muscula are angry with Apex for his carelessness of blowing up their planet without realizing it and they tell him that he has to learn and live with his guilt. Apex realizes his grave mistake and begs Wolverine to kill him but the latter refuses, telling him that he should learn his mistakes and do better as a hero. Soon, the remorseful Apex helps Wolverine and Multitude to fix the bridge. Wolverine thanks Multitude for helping them to overcome their demons.

Marvel Comics Reveals 9 "Infinity Watch" Titles

Marvel Comics' "Infinity Watch" event will take place across nine annuals as both established and newer Marvel characters battle to contain or control the power of the Infinity Stones, culminating with the formation of The Infinity Watch, made up of the stone's guardians. The event will introduce the bearer of the Mind Stone and will follow up with the other Infinity Stones' bearers - Star, Overtime, Prince of Power, Quantum, and Multitude. These Stone-Bearers will deal with their new powers, the mistrust from their peers, and, of course, Thanos.

The "Infinity Watch" event is spearheaded by writer Derek Landy. Landy will write key chapters in the saga and, along with artist Sara Pichelli, create backup stories in each of the nine annuals that follow the creation and pursuit of the Death Stone-Bearer. Covers for the "Infinity Watch" annuals are by Salvador Larroca

The saga begins in June with Thanos Annual #1 - "Infinity Watch" Part 1, from writer Derek Landy and artists Salvador Larroca and Sara Pichelli, on sale June 26, 2024.

In July the saga continues with Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 - "Infinity Watch" Part 2, from writer Derek Landy and artists Ron Lim and Sara Pichelli, on sale July 3, 2024, Immortal Thor Annual #1 - "Infinity Watch" Part 3, from writer Al Ewing and artists David Baldeón and Sara Pichelli, on sale on July 17, 2024, and Ms. Marvel Annual #1 -"Infinity Watch" Part 4, from writers Iman Vellani and Sabir Pirzada and artists Giada Belviso and Sara Pichelli, on sale on July 31, 2024.

In August check out  Wolverine Annual #1 - "Infinity Watch" Part 5, from writer Ezra Claytan Daniels and artists Yildiray Çinar and Sara Pichelli, on sale August 14, 2024, and Incredible Hulk Annual #1 - "Infinity Watch" Part 6, from writer Derek Landy and artists Geoff Shaw and Sara Pichelli, on sale on August 28, 2024.

This goes out to the Good Omens Fandom, and it applies to other fandoms as well:

1. Respect other fans, the actors, the writers, the artists, and anyone working on the book/comic/show/film/genre!

2. Quit asking questions about Good Omens Season 3 until after it is finished being filmed, and when asking questions, don’t ask “Spoiler” questions. It puts everyone in a terrible position.

3. Remember what happened to X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity Wars, well, if no one wants a repeat of that, then don’t ask “Spoiler” questions and/or leak anything from the book/comic/show/film/genre. Anyone working on certain shows and/or films have to sign NDAs or Non-Disclosure Agreements, and they can’t really say anything until after the release of said show and/or film, so please respect that!

4. Yes, I heard about that fan who asked David Tennant that question about Good Omens at that convention in Dallas, Texas, and I know about the aftermath from it, and that’s why I am posting this because that fan put David Tennant in an awkward situation by doing that. Also, note: Never record or film anyone without their permission or consent because yes, that is a violation of their privacy.

5. If certain fans need to distract themselves from other shows and/or films while waiting for the next season and/or episode and/or film, then books, magazines, comics, podcasts, fanfics, music, other shows, other movies, films, walking, running, dancing, playing games, playing sports, knitting, drawing, writing, and other various hobbies are available. I love to read, walk, sing, watch various shows and films, and listen to music, when I’m not working at my full time job.

6. This is a shout out to Neil Gaiman, David Tennant, Michael Sheen, and everyone working on Good Omens: Thank you all for everything that you all are doing with Good Omens! Keep up the good work, and I apologize for the fans who aren’t behaving themselves. I know you all are working very hard on the show, and I personally appreciate everything you all do!

7. Lastly, don’t be that fan who ruins a great thing for everyone else! The people working on your favorite book/comic/show/film/genre are doing it as a courtesy and gift for the fans who love those books/comics/shows/films/genres. Respect their time and their talents. They don’t have to do anything for the fans if they don’t want to, but if you all want those people who work on your favorite books/comics/shows/films/genres to continue to do so, then please respect them and their time and their talents!

Logan, y-your priorities...!

From Wolverine: Infinity Watch

I connected the dots! (a.k.a. I'm autistic and "meta" isn't enough)

Okay, okay! I get the whole anchor-being thingy being a metaphor for the X-Men franchise falling apart since Jackman's retirement as Wolverine, but.... I'm autistic and had to look at it too deeply !

I came with this conclusion that solve most questions regarding D&W's main plot!

Ooookay, maybe I need to explain it further....

So, the main questions I had/heard after watching D&W were :

Why would Logan's death in 2029 affect Wade's timeline in 2024 ?

So, first thing first : Logan (2017) isn't set in the same universe as the rest of the X-Men franchise. It's set on Earth-17315, though it's unclear which events differ from Deadpool's universe (Earth-TRN414).

The anchor being residing in a different universe means all the movies we saw, except for Logan (2017), were NOT main timelines, but branches.

When Mr. Paradox talked about pruning Deadpool's universe, he meant cutting down the whole tree, every universe derived from Logan (2017)'s timeline. The "trunk" slowly withering, all the "branches" will slowly die with it, including Deadpool's universe.

Yeah, but it's the future...

Actually, the notions of past, present, and future don't mean the same thing from one universe to the next. One example would be Logan from Earth-21923 (a.k.a. Old Man Logan), who fought the War of 1812 (despite most Logan variants being born in the 1880's) :

Meaning, who's to say when year zero of each universe starts. 2029 doesn't mean anything... It doesn't matter when the anchor being died, he just isn't here anymore at the time of Wade's present.

Logan (2017) is a different universe, okay... So, why didn't Wade go to his timeline's Logan for help ?

I don't have a 100% irrefutable answer here, but...

a) It's Deadpool, who's just traveled to another universe (Logan (2017)'s) and might've wanted to check out other universes ;

b) Logan from Earth-TRN414 is already gone. Logan has died a bunch of times on Earth-616. For example, in the OG Infinity Gauntlet event, Wolverine died by Thanos' hands.

c) Deadpool has messed with the timeline of Earth-10005 (the Fox X-Men Universe up to the Events of Days of the Future Past) by killing a variant of himself. We can't say how that affected Earth-10005, from which Logan from Wade's universe is originally from... Lemme explain myself here by answering another question :

Are there two Logans and two Lauras in Wade's timeline now ?

Applying the logic of the other movies, no. The Worst Wolverine and Laura (Earth-17315) replaced the ones from Earth-TRN414, if there were still/already existing.

In Days of the Future Past, Logan (Earth-10005) wakes up on Earth-TRN414, an universe where Scott and Jean didn't die. He only remembers the events from his universe, but every other person remembers their version of Logan. By changing the past, Logan didn't fix his timeline, but made his universe (Earth-10005) disappear in favor of another (Earth-TRN414).

Linking this to my previous point : Logan from Earth-TRN414 has been overwritten by a variant from Earth-10005, the same Logan that Deadpool interacted with in the end of Deadpool 2. Butterfly effect, etc. Either the Worst Wolverine erased Logan, or Logan was already gone, and the Worst Wolverine "filled the spot".

Again, I *know* there's a meta explanation about the X-Men & Co. universe revolving around Wolverine (even more so now that they got Dafne Keen as well to take over the role until she's herself 90 or something), but my brain needed a diegetic answer to my questions 😅
