Martin 000-18 1955
Extremly nice Martin 000-18 from 1955 … a very nice guitar with a cool vintage vibe! In the time after the 2. wolrd war Martin created wonderful guitars – that are highly sought after today. It was an era where the guitars were built with no commercial consideration whatsoever … they were thin and used the finest first growth tonewoods. Entirely hand built from every perspective. Beautiful mahogany sides and back and a very nice spruce top – makes this guitar to a canon. The guitars of theses period are of the finest of what Martin has produced in all of these years … and that says something with the quality that they have put out over the last 100+ years. This Martin 000-18 1955 is in incredibly good condition. It has received a neck reset and plays like butter. From The pictures you can see that it only has extensive finish wear! Most importantly, it’s one of the most articulate, mature mahogany guitars that we’ve owned – just amazing. Rich and deep … one would think it was rosewood. The whole construction and the matured woods create this most haunting voice that can’t be described with any degree of accuracy. This is one of those: to play it is to want to own it !! guitars. It comes with a period correct hard case. Read the full article

New DC titles quite often had spotty or no distribution in my area, at least as far as my regular 7-11 was concerned, so there were several books over teh years that I became aware of in ads but never saw until much later. SUPER-TEAM FAMILY was one of those. The first issue’s cover had been in House Ads previously, and I was interested because the Flash was on that cover--but none of the first three issues materialized in my neck of the woods. Fortunately, this fourth one did--and it was a whopper!
Behind another Ernie Chua cover that I don’t much like at all was a grand slam as far as I was concerned: a full-length golden age adventure of the Justice Society of America! And it was one in which I was already familiar with their antagonist, the monstrous Solomon Grundy. I was already a huge JSA fan, and I presume this selection of reprint was intended to help promote their then-new series in ALL-STAR COMICS.
The story itself doesn’t make a heck of a lot of sense in one regard, but it is good fun. Having previously been imprisoned in a bubble by Green lantern, Solomon Grundy is freed by a stray lightning bolt, and he makes his way towards the city to take his revenge. Meanwhile, Green Lantern is early for the JSA meeting, when he’s surprised by the appearance of a mysterious figure. When the rest of teh team arrives, they find their headquarters trashed and no sign of GL. Radio reports alert them to Grundy’s rampage, and give them a list of the places he’s already been--that’s an important point--so the JSAers split up to go to each of those sites, hoping for a clue as to Green Lantern’s whereabouts.
From there, we get a series of short five-page sequences in which each member reaches his objective city, only to run afoul of Solomon Grundy in it (along with whatever other trouble is being caused that they can take care of along the way.) Which doesn’t make sense as the radio report indicated that Grundy had already left each of those spots, and there’s no indication in the story that he’s doubled back. But whatever! We get to spotlight each member of teh Justice Society in action individually, but none of them have the wherewithal to bring Grundy’s rampage to a halt.
Thereafter, we wind the clock back to reveal that Green lantern’s visitor at JSA headquarters had been his pal Doiby Dickles, with news of Grundy’s rampage. GL jets off to track down the monster--narrowly missing him, as Grundy appears and then trashes the JSA’s meeting room. Green Lantern has built a radio that’s attuned to “the mental wave-length of Solomon Grundy”, which he’s able to use to chart the creature’s progress. He phones this information in to the radio station (becoming responsible for the broadcast that put the JSA on the trail--it’s possible that writer Gardner Fox’s intention here was that GL’s gizmo was predicting Grundy’s path, but that’s not what’s on the page.) and by using those locations as a vector, he’s able to predict where the beast will be at a certain point in time.
And Green Lantern’s prediction is correct! But that’s not enough to save him from a pummeling at Grundy's hands, all of his will-power not enough to subdue the creature. He’s saved at the last moment by the arrival of his assorted JSA teammates, who together are able to hold Grundy down with their combined power--but that’s no long-term solution. Johnny Thunder accidentally hits on the answer: Green Lantern uses his Power Ring to once again entomb Solomon Grundy, and then he transports Grundy to the surface of a barren planet. So even if Grundy’s prison is once again shattered, he will have no way back to Earth.
Next was the second in the public service series Justice For All Includes Children, illustrated by Neal Adams. This was an ad rather than content, but it’s worth looking at for the naivety of its message. The intention was good, but the situation being dramatized would likely have played out a different way in real life--especially for the two black kids.
The back-up story in this issue was a fun World’s Finest story illustrated by the always-wonderful Dick Sprang, in which exposure to a strange comet while on a moon mission transforms Pilot Rogers (he’s never given a first name anywhere in the story) into the crazed super-villain Moonman whenever the moon is in the sky. Your two favorite heroes Superman and Batman (and Robin!) contend with Moonman, and are able to bring him back to sanity, while also corraling a bunch fo generic criminals who try to use Moonman for their own gain.

“But of course, you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” He murmured, kissing her shoulder and just holding her close as he watched her lay there and think. “Thank you for not looking at me as they all do.”
While Star was coming around on Winter and allowing him to kiss her and hold her, there were several people on the team who didn’t agree with it, seeing him as trying to make Bucky lose her for himself but they were just wrong. Bucky adored her and Winter did too.
If Winter had it his way, Star would be treated like a queen; sleeping on golden sheets and dressed in the finest things the world had to offer, she would rule beside him and they would take over the whole wolrd together.
He also knew that dream wasn’t realistic but it’s what he wanted, he wanted to see her have her rightful place as a goddess. “You are a goddess to me, majestic and powerful in the most beautiful ways. I wish I could fully capture your beauty, I would want to show you what I see you as my darling, but I am unsure of how to do so.”
Winter’s Heart [ x ]
[ @cutewarmachine ]
It had been a few times now that Star had encountered Winter. The first time he tried to kill her, which instilled a fear within the demon of what would happen if he surfaced again. However, as time progressed, it seemed that Winter wasn’t targeting Star anymore and instead was… Protecting her.
It was odd, to say the least. The first time it happened was when Sam was teasing her and Star clearly wasn’t having it. Winter had stepped in and put the hero in his place with a glare, leaving after nodding to Star. Things only got stranger from there to the point where Star was no longer afraid of him—if anything, she had come to accept him as another part of her life with Bucky.
Currently, Star was in the kitchen at the tower, standing at the island counter and snacking on a cookie while Steve rambled about something. Tony was there as well, preparing some coffee from what Star could tell but no really participating in the conversation. She was too focused on Steven to notice the other member joining them.

So next year is supes 80th anniversary, what you think wb/dc might do to celebrate? I personally think they should make the big announcement that the batsolo is actually wolrd's finest and you know half of Bruce's scenes will be cut out, yeah I know is not like them to treat such an iconic character like this, they never did before maybe it wouldn't be fair right? But why not, is not like is unusual to other characters appear in other movies and steal it. I mean maybe is a new thing for batman.
The tea is hot tonight.

WOCtober Teen Superhero Parade Presents: Tanya Spears a.k.a. Power Girl!
Tanya possesses a genius level intellect, which helped her gain PhD at the age of 17. She used her scientific knowledge when two lost superheroines from Earth-2 – Power Girl and Huntress – asked for help in returning to their Universe. For yet unexplained reasons, sending them back gave Tanya powers similar to that of Power Girl and an ability to increase her size.
Recommended Readings:
World’s Finest #23-26 – Tanya’s debut and event which gave her her powers.
Teen Titans #1-24 – While the book is overall medicore and sometimes stupid (I mean, the team gets manipulated by Manchester “obviously Evil” Black, for fuck’s sake), it’s also the only place where Tanya gets to be featured since her debut appearance and one that largely got to define her.

NO NO NO Versus, we want a Team Up movie not Frank Miller BULL$H!T
Damn you DC, how come every-time you announce something that excites it has to be immediately followed up by something that pisses me off. We do NOT want Batman Vs Superman, we want Batman And Superman: World's Finest. We want their relationship to be like the the DCAU not like Miller's BS.
