North Node Aries ♈︎ South Node Libra ♎︎ Musicians
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(left to right) Mariah Carey, Frank Ocean, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Kesha, Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Florence Welch, Solange Knowles
The karma that an Aries NN, Libra SN faces consists of past lives where the native not only lived through other people, but based their identity on how other people felt about them. Continuous people pleasers, causing a resentment to others who don’t reciprocate the good energy back to them. There is also a huge need to try to speak for everyone, be diplomatic and concise, but throughout this life, the universe pushes them to learn and get to know themself. Aries NN asks: Who cares what other people think, do you even really know yourself? It brings a necessary drive for these individuals to be creative, find their power, and ultimately find out who they really are.
One thing that I see throughout these musicians, is their music usually reflects dependency within romantic relationships or their relationship with the world.
Mariah Carey has a 0 degree Aries North Node. Majority of her music focuses on romantic relationships, and specifically love that doesn’t come easy. 0 degree represents this is Mariah’s first life where she is able to be independent in any way.
“You have given me the courage to be all I can. And I truly feel your heart will lead you back to me. When you’re ready to land.” The Butterfly.
Frank Ocean has a 1 degree Aries North Node in the 5th house, South Node in the 11th House. His music is incredibly nostalgic, and will teleport listeners to times when life was prettier and more fun, which are 5th house themes. In past lives, Ocean was incredibly involved in his community, but this life he is learning to just enjoy life and creating things that speak his trouble with being so emotionally connected to past lovers.
“I care for you still and I will, forever. That was my part of the deal, honest.” White Ferrari.
Wiz Khalifa has a 2 degree Aries NN in 3rd house, SN in the 9th House. Khalifa’s top hits are collaborations, which is extremely shown through the 3rd house. The 3rd house represents groups, childhood friendships, siblings, and blind trust. His music is fun, and expresses his loyalty to his friends. In past lives, Khalifa spent most of his time pondering on karma, which is why in this life he values trust within his friendships so much.
“When brotherhood come first, then the line will never be crossed.” See You Again.
Kendrick Lamar has a 8 degree NN in the 6th house, SN in the 12th house. Lamar’s music reflects the constant grind he is on to make his own way in the world, independent from others. In past lives, Lamar was heavily controlled, maybe even through legal means, and in this life he feels the need to constantly work so he isn’t stagnant enough for anyone to take advantage of him. It’s hard for him to trust the universe, and instead he feels the need to go above and beyond to make sure he is taking care of himself.
“In another life I would be perfect world, I don’t trust people enough beyond their surface world, I don’t love people enough to put my faith in man, I put my faith in these lyrics hoping I make a band.” PRIDE.
Kesha has 11 degree NN. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find her houses, but if we compare her to Carey, we see that she has a higher degree, which means she is further along the aries NN lessons. For example, after she made her accusations public against Dr. Luke, her music became a lot more independent and genuine to her. Marriah also has genuine music, but her music has a fixation on romantic relationships. Kesha is clearly learning how to stop putting others before herself, which is key to aries NN, Libra SN natives.
“I can thank you for how strong I have become, cause you brought the flames and you put me through hell. I had to learn how to fight for myself.” Praying.
Bruce Springsteen has a 16 degree NN in 11th house, SN in the 5th house. This is opposite of Ocean’s. Springsteen’s music has heavy patriotic themes, which is very 11th house, but his lyrics more so call out the delusion of the American dream, which highlights the individualism of Aries. In past lives, Springsteen focused on pleasing passing flings, and in this life he finds speaking on how majority of people really feel is his destiny. He likes expressing the grim, rebellious reality (aries) of the collective he was born in, America (11th house).
“At night, we ride through mansions of glory, in suicide machines.” Born to Run.
Celine Dion has a 18 degree NN in the 10th house, SN in 4th house. One of Celine’s greatest hits is from the movie titanic, which is very 10th house of her. The 10th house rules over reputation and fame, and in this case, it expresses that she is known by something that has more reputation than her, a box office hit. In past lives, she was always striving for her family’s acceptance, so in this life she finds acceptance through making a good career for herself. I don’t know much about her personally, but based on this placement it seems like she might avoid talking about the family she grew up in.
“I’m your lady and you are my man, whenever you reach for me I’m gonna do all that I can.” The Power of Love.
Florence Welch has a 22 degree NN. Majority of Florence + The Machine’s music focuses on all encompassing love, which Libra SN’s know very well. Florence has a realist take on what she experiences, but positive and negative. Throughout their discography, you notice that Florence learns more of independence, and finding love without having to contort to someone else’s standards.
“Leave all your love and longing behind, you can’t carry it with you if you want to survive.” Dog Days are Over.
Solange has a 28 degree NN. Her music celebrates her individuality (Aries), her culture, and grief (Libra). This is another artist where I wish I knew what house it sits in, but overall Solange captures the way she feels perfectly within her music. She can go from heavy themes to songs that are more fun, which is the perfect balance of Aries NN, Libra SN!
“Now I don’t want to bite the hand that’ll show me the other side, but I didn’t want to build the land that has fed you your whole life.” Don’t You Wait.

See You Again
I can still remember the first time that I heard this song back in 2015 because it was an instant hit everywhere. It was also an important part from a movie from one of my favorite series of all time Fast and Furious. The song was made as a tribute to one of my favorite actors Paul Walker after passing away in a tragic car accident. The Songs artist include Wiz Khalifa an American rapper from North Dakota and Charlie Puth an American singer, writer, and producer. I listen to both of them as individual artists and would have not expected them to sound so good together.
youtube
Starting off I have no idea any terms related to music because it sounds like a foreign language that I could never understand. Over the summer I bought a keyboard and tried learning a couple songs including this one and it was probably the most confusing thing that I have ever tried. I was only able to get the simpler parts of the song or only use one hand at a time. With that being said the song starts off with a piano with “simple” keys and it sounds like a repeat of the same chords if I am using that term correctly. The sound of the piano is the more classical sound instead of like the electronic keyboard kind. The second I hear the piano and those keys I could tell within seconds the song that is going to be played. Following the keyboard Charlie begins to sing his verse and with the very talented artist that he is, he absolute kills it and gives the song such an incredible goose bump giving vibe. The recording of this version sounds like they tried to keep his voice more natural sounding but just cleaned it up some. I listened to a live version and it seemed like he was able to hit those high noted pretty good and sounded pretty similar to the studio version.
Tumblr media
The song sounds like it is going to be a slower sadder piano and singing kind of song from the beginning. Then all of a sudden Charlies first chorus is done it instantly gets more of an upbeat kind of vibe and I think that has to do with the drums that are being played. it also sounds like there is a background of harmony singing that is probably Charlie which keeps the mood through Wiz Khalifas verse. Honestly I listen to rap a lot and enjoy wiz but he is not in my favorite artist list but I have to say he absolutely also killed it as well. it instantly switched back into the more serious sadder piano playing with Charlie's chorus just like in the beginning of the song. I feel like for everyone that has lost someone close to them this song always brings up memories and makes it even more emotional. I originally did not plan on doing this song but it randomly came up and instantly made me emotional because it brought up something that happened during the summer. at one point of the song Charlie hits such a high note and adds such a unique touch to the song because it adds such a euphoric experience. I think its called the melody and in this it matches the lyrics perfectly creating the perfect combo for the listener. All of these things put together made an incredible song and it's no wonder why it became so popular.I think that is all I have for this blog see you again on the next one.

“The Thrill” by Wiz Khalifa & Empire Of The Sun
Rapper Wiz Khalifa puts his own spin on the electronic duo Empire of the Sun’s song “Walking On A Dream” in “The Thrill.”
It was over a decade ago where Khalifa’s “Walking On A Dream” remake was the hit of the blogs after appearing on his 2008 Burn After Rolling mixtape. The song features the Australian band’s stand-out hit with Khalifa’s own lyrical twist overlayed on the iconic production.
The multi-platinum band recalled hearing about the remake around the same time their original was breaking around the globe. In a statement they mentioned that “’Walking On A Dream’ is a song that morphs and transcends so many emotions and musical plains that it’s great to hear it alive in another world, Wiz’s world.”
For the rapper he recalls his special connection to the song and how it even came to be:
“’The Thrill’ is a really special song to me because I seen that one grow from the ground up. I remember being at a low key show at a college and one of the kids told me about the song and he said ‘man you’ll be that dude if you sample the song.’ So I immediately went home, started thinking of some bars, went to the studio and recorded it. And it was one of those songs that we took on the road and made our own videos for, and performed it, and the world loved it. And I’m happy that it’s available on all streaming platforms and that people can enjoy it the way that they need to now.”
Check out the Wiz Khalifa version above and be sure to give the original some love HERE.

Ooh! I noticed you reblogged the 3 asks so... #3, 6, 9, 11, 12, 20, 25, and 34?
Oh my hEck, you have no idea how happy I am to receive these (and to have you back in my inbox; it feels like forever). The notification cut off after “3”, so I thought there was only one question but was still pleased to have an ask. Then I opened it and kfjsjfjsj happiness multiplied.
3. Three songs that mean something to you?
This one was the last one I answered out of this list because it was really hard convincing myself not to just choose three random songs from the Planes soundtrack.
Fearless by Liveloud, See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth, and Stupid Deep by Jon Bellion. Every time I hear these songs, I pretty much drop everything I’m doing to kgjsjfj let the lyrics and schist wash over me. Who says I don’t have fleblings?? I just don’t really experience them without music to activate them. :))
6. Three characters that inspire you?
Hoshi Sato. No hesitation. Boom. Hoshi Sato of Star Trek: Enterprise. First one on the list.
Suddenly every other character I have ever met except Shrek evades my memory. I think my brain is getting back at me for filling it to the brim with Planes crap as of late kgjsjjf. Anyway. Two other characters who inspire me…
Teresa Lisbon from The Mentalist and Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano from the Riordanverse.
9. Three things you like doing on a rainy day?
Look out the window to watch, be safe, and uhh sit on my porch in cozy clothes with a steaming mug of hot choco. I can’t do that last one very often because Life doesn’t usually spare me the free time and energy, but I have once or twice and it’s nice.
11. Three books that you would recommend everyone to read?
Funny you should ask, for the first one on this list is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. The second one is The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. (I have a Lot to say about this book kfjsjfjs.)
I had some trouble deciding on the last one because I’ve read so many good books and 99% of the time I call a book my favourite until I read the next one. (Kfjjsjf any Charlie vibes from me?) However, I kind of went, Screw it, just gonna choose one of the lesser known ones I read recently so it can be a good and more clear-minded recommendation (one of the wisest instructions starting with “Screw it” the voice in my head has given me, I must say), after a while sO. The third book I would recommend everyone to read is The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz by Mordecai Richler.
(I just searched it up to make sure I was spelling the author’s name right and… There’s a movie??? Okay, maybe it’s not as lesser known as I thought it was??? Still, I’ll keep it on the list because that book was a journey. I loved it, and it was pretty memorable to me. I mean, that’s in part because right after I finished it I read Brave New World and lemme tell you… My brain did Not like that shift ksjfjsjf.)
12. Three apps you use the most?
Tumblr media
Hghshrjdjs I was about to go defending myself and saying I only use Tumblr so much because I don’t have school yet but… ’Twould be a lie,, I would make a liar out of myself,,
I’m low-key salty about how much I depend on Spotify now because I used to say, “I’ll never be like my peers, letting Spotify take advantage of my music and podcast addiction like that! Six skips per hour? A heckton of ads? Dishonest ‘watch this short video for thirty minutes of ad-free listening’ bargains? Or pay? No way, José.” And then I went and did let Spotify take advantage of my music and podcast addiction.
Safari is for reading fanfiction, Docs is for writing fanfiction.
Safari is helpful. I turn to it a lot.
20. Three adjectives that you’d use to descibe yourself?
Independent, annoying, and uhhhh thorough.
25. Three people you’d never get tired of?
Jfjsjfjs the only people I’d really never get tired of are fictional characters. Like, I get bad days and wanna be alone, and I get off days and just get irritated/frustrated with people easily. I’m not so much getting tired of them, just getting tired. Say we ignore that for the sake of this question though. Then, I would name my ninth grade Eng. Lit. teacher, my sister, and pretty much all of the people I always see in my [tumblr] notifs.
Yeah, y’all count as one person now. You’re all a single blob. Make amends with your individuality now because you’re never seeing it again.
34. Three people in history that inspire you the most?
Ching Shih was the first to come to mind. She entered my line of sight in, like, fourth or fifth grade and hasn’t entirely left it since. Then, hMmmMmmmMMMMMMmmmm… J. R. R. Tolkien and Jesus dhfjskfj. There are probably more that I’m forgetting. History contains many heroes.
Thank you very much for these! I loved answering them, and I hope you’ll return with more. ;P
Send me numbers to ask me three of something!

okay 6 (i feel like i can probably guess a couple lmao), 20 (bc we were raised on scrubs and greys and physically cannot stop ourselves from doing this), 24 (THE current mood) and obvs 17 for the hell squad
6. A song that’s on at least 3 of your playlists
i don’t really do playlists, which is a SHAME bc it would help keep it all in place but if i had to make three different playlists for let’s say three different characters i’d choose:
brother’s boat by eliza and the bear, ghosts by kensington, on my way by lucine gregster, not easy by alex da kid feat. x ambassadors, elle king, and wiz khalifa all my friends by dermot kennedy, epiphany and death by a thousand cuts by taylor swift and third eye by florence + the machine.
20. A song from the soundtrack of a film that you like so much after the film finished you immediately looked for it
the most recent one is “this is the world we made” by ruelle after finishing the old guard. it’s so good and i use it as a writing background right now. (also it’s the title for the 12m og fic, lmao). also “husavik” from the esc movie.
that being said, remember when enchanted came out? ever ever after by carrie underwood is still a bop.
as for tv shows “keep breathing” by ingrid michaelson after the grey’s s3 finale and the song from the s2 trailer for mozart in the jungle - “say it out loud” by katie herzig.
24. A song to listen to on a long drive when you have the really strong urge to keep driving until you find somewhere to start a new life (preferably a europian city whose language you don’t speak)
this is the most difficult question, okay?  calma (alicia remix) by pedro capo feat. alicia keys & farruko, probably. it has this beach mood, you just wanna drive until you hit the ocean. (also “how big, how blue, how beautiful by florence + tm, i recently discovered it in my car cd player again, and it’s just so good. ship to wreck, delilah, third eye, queen of peace? HYMNS, all of them.
17. A song that makes you want to grab your friends jump up and down dancing and screaming the lyrics
SCREAM AND SHOUT by britney spears ft. will.i.am (it’s britney, BITCH). also narcotic by liquido. plus basically any abba song ever, but i’m gimme gimme gimme right now (we really all need to get an island and have a dance party)

In 2015, Hamilton and The Force Awakens remixed essential American myths
Tumblr media
A decade has elapsed since Lin-Manuel Miranda told President Barack Obama and a room full of White House guests that he was writing a concept album about “the life of someone I think embodies hip-hop: Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton.” It was May 12, 2009, and the first time Miranda had performed the project’s opening number. Watching that video, you can see that Miranda knows the laugh is coming. He not only knows, but welcomes it with open arms. It’s clear that even then, he knew his angle was a good, even brilliant one, that the skepticism conjured by the apparent absurdity of describing one of the Founding Fathers of the United States as embodying hip-hop would vanish once people understood the reasons why. They could laugh. Maybe they should laugh. Then they’d listen, and that would be the ball game.
“I’ll be playing Vice President Aaron Burr,” he says, to audible giggles. “Snap along if you like.”
...
Much of Hamilton’s success is due to its writer’s keen understanding of two American art forms, as well as his formidable gift for language. But the real key to unlocking the greatness of Hamilton is this: Lin-Manuel Miranda looked at the life of Alexander Hamilton—at its particulars, not just some marble bust. He saw the story of an immigrant, of someone who used language and hustle and boldness to make a place for himself in a world that would otherwise have shut him out. He saw an audacious loudmouth, a genius who didn’t know when to shut up, a trait which dazzled and backfired. He saw feuds and sex and swagger. And then he did something both simple and revolutionary: He wrote it exactly that way. He reflected the world in which we live. He told the truth, and it will live on.
Inspired by Ron Chernow’s bestselling 2004 biography of Alexander Hamilton, Hamilton is, unequivocally, hip-hop—just not in the form of the concept album described in the White House in 2009. When the musical’s songs were compiled into an LP, a Billboard review dubbed it the best rap record of 2015. Busta Rhymes sat in the front row, grinning, when the show played the Public Theater in New York, its home before the inevitable Broadway transfer; he was later one of many artists to appear on The Hamilton Mixtape, a list that includes Ja Rule, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Common, Miguel, Queen Latifah, and Chance The Rapper. After seeing the show, Questlove, who would later produce the original cast recording with Black Thought, found himself asking: “Is this the most revolutionary thing to happen to Broadway, or the most revolutionary thing to happen to hip-hop?”
And that’s because Hamilton is just as unequivocally a musical, with choreography, costumes, an intermission, scenework, a massive set, and a few powerhouse ballads. It’s a sonic experience, but a dramatic one as well. It’s not a musical about hip-hop; that is simply the form it takes. As all great hip-hop artists do, Miranda places Hamilton in conversation with other great artists by quoting and sampling their sampling their work—it’s just that he’s as likely to cite Jason Robert Brown as Mobb Depp and Biggie Smalls. The lyrics contain more than 20,000 words, far, far more than your Evan Hansens or your Hadestowns—just as, say, your average Busta Rhymes track would have far more words than something by Dolly Parton.
And it’s not a gimmick. “This music is the only way you can tell this guy’s story,” Miranda told Grantland in 2015. “You could do a Les Mis-type musical about Hamilton, but it would have to be 12 hours long.”
And so a story about the founding of the United States—previously captured in films like The Patriot, television shows like the miniseries John Adams, and musicals like 1776—was told again, by pairing one American art form with another. It’s a choice that this time in a way that reflected the country’s diversity. George Washington (Christopher Jackson) was Black. Burr (Leslie Odom Jr.) was Black. Hamilton, initially played by Miranda himself, was Puerto Rican. Thomas Jefferson was Black, played by a biracial rapper (Daveed Diggs) who went to Hebrew school and would win a Tony for his Broadway debut. King George (Jonathan Groff) was white, deliberately so; his menacing, wickedly funny, Beatles-inspired songs sound unlike anything else in the score. The other named characters, and the vast majority of the ensemble, were all people of color.
This isn’t “colorblind casting,” the kind of thing where you sit down to see Hamlet and the fact that a Latinx person is playing Claudius is never acknowledged. This is “color-conscious casting,” an indispensable element of the show, operating—as most things in Hamilton do—on multiple levels. It elevates and enlivens the story, kicking preconceptions about what this period of history should look and sound like to the curb; in doing so, “you rob it of its inevitability, you rob it of its sort of plaster sainthood,” Miranda said in 2018. It’s also a practical artistic consideration: “I wanted to write a hip-hop, R&B musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton,” he added; “If it had been an all-white cast, wouldn’t you think I messed up?”
But it’s another element that most lingers. It pops out in lines like “And when I meet Thomas Jefferson, I’m ’a compel him to include women in the sequel,” and, most famously, shines through in “Immigrants: we get the job done.”

Rockarchive Music Eras
Modern folks music refers to all kinds of genres that emerged within the mid twentieth century and afterwards which have been associated with conventional folks music Starting in the mid-20th century a brand new form of common folks music evolved from conventional folk music. 2. Why does it matter? I do know you talked how individuals would take pleasure in music better if they listened to extra complex, but I am talking about greater than this. Like, the music industry has always been unpredictable, but now it's extra so than ever, with untalented people scoring #1 hits and musical geniuses not making a cent. If complicated music was more valued, there would still be huge untalents and small talents, but for probably the most half, on average, true musicians would get the spotlight. For the chords it doesnвЂt quite make sense because it is vitally biased as a result of these are the 3 primary chords of the C major scale. So of course the most popular scaleвЂs major chords would be the most popular he encountered. Roman numeral analysis would have been rather more useful right here, as it's not dependent on the actual chord letter or key, Pop Music 2018 Download Mp3 however its general perform. For instance C-F-G is generically describing a I-IV-V motion and describes all main scales in any key not simply C major. Functionally this is known as root-predominate-dominate development and is the preferred movement in all fashionable music. ItвЂs cool he did his personal examine although, but a bit pointless in its closing information since this can be very biased to the most well-liked scale C major.

The Liceu Conservatory has made an amazing guess for Jazz and Modern Music recognition as specializations in the Bachelor's Diploma. The Division's academics are large names of the Jazz and Fashionable Music scene in Barcelona and overseas. The Department presents an ideal surroundings to study this music with maximum accuracy and with complete information of its tradition and trendy trends. The students of the Bachelor of Music Efficiency, Major in Jazz and Fashionable Music, have at their disposition several packages of instruments: electrical guitar, bass, electric bass, piano, drums and percussion, singing, saxophone, trumpet, flute trombone, and violin. The explanation why these songs had been excluded appears clear sufficient: They are proudly trunk-rattling rap songs that make no concessions to a white audience. Yet by advantage of their sheer ubiquity they were two of essentially the most successful pop songs of the 12 months. If pop stations are really purported to characterize a snapshot of what is popping at a given second, those big Kendrick and Migos hits belonged on the airwaves. Will probably be attention-grabbing to see whether top-40 stations cave to these cultural currents and becomes indistinguishable from the Spotify charts this yr or holds robust as a gated group ruled by Sheeran and Mendes and Horan and Puth and Levine. (Additionally referred to as heavy steel) A form of music characterised by aggressive, driving rhythms and highly amplified distorted guitars. Its origins lie within the exhausting rock bands who, between 1967 and 1974, took blues and rock and created a hybrid with a heavy, guitar-and-drums-centered sound. From the late 1970s on, many bands would fuse this sound with a revival of European classical music. Heavy metallic had its peak popularity in the 1980s, throughout which lots of the now existing subgenres first developed. However, while there may be plenty of trash in the music business, accounting for normally around 30 of the top forty songs each week, there nonetheless is plenty of good music to go around, you simply have to look tougher. Occasionally some actually actually good songs come out, like for instance The entire Lights by Kanye West, The Show Goes on by Lupe Fiasco, Chandelier by Sia, Rap God by Eminem, and See You Again by Wiz Khalifa. I name these songs golden nuggets as a result of you have to shovel via quite a lot of crap to find them, however they are gems of the music trade. This complicated relationship between motion, instrument and perceived result has had a massive influence on the language of music; but in classical music the influence is subterranean, not acknowledged in textbooks, precisely as a result of it contradicts the foundations. There's a clue right here that factors us towards an entirely different conception of music—extra communal, where the sovereign isolated subjectivity of the listener is not the main focus of consideration. That ought to make it of burning curiosity to a thinker of music, however Scruton prefers to look the other approach. And this is why his book ultimately, for all its passion, feels curiously thin. Scruton is a vastly gifted philosopher and author, admirably committed to the form of music that he loves. However there are such a lot of extra things in music than are dreamt of in his philosophy. c Labels warning of explicit lyrics on recordings prompt adolescents normally to love the music much less. They see it as "tainted fruit," reasonably than as "forbidden fruit" they have to strive, Christenson found in the one research accomplished of music labeling. Not everyone in the study reacted negatively to the labeled music, nevertheless. "An advisory sticker would possibly properly be a come-on for some children who're alienated from their dad and mom, their college or the mainstream peer culture," he stated. The style's identify functions much as Foucault described the creator's title in literature. 2 2. For an account of the various ways of understanding and finding out genres of music, see Classification as Culture: Types and Trajectories of Music Genres" by Jennifer C. Lena and Richard A. Peterson. View all notes Like the creator's title, a named style performs a classificatory perform. Such a reputation permits one to group collectively a certain number of texts, outline them, differentiate them from and distinction them to others." The textual content" of heavy metallic bands—their output of songs variously mediated—capabilities simply as the fact that several texts have been positioned beneath the identical title indicates that there was established amongst them a relationship of homogeneity, filiation, authentication of some texts by way of others, reciprocal explication, or concomitant utilization" (Foucault 452).
Regardless of being raised by corporate administration as a teenager, Kate Bush at all times retained a fierce sense of individuality. Her expressive voice continues to face out on the radio as a fresh break from monochromatic pop singers. It is impossible to select the best album in her catalog as each document has its personal distinctive aptitude. Nonetheless, Hounds of Love is a straightforward favorite. Critics proceed to adore the report on account of its intricate preparations and Http://Www.magicaudiotools.Com/ the unparalleled passion of Bush's unmistakeable voice.

Pearl Jam Dances to a Different Beat, and 11 More New Songs
Introducing “Gigaton,” its first studio album since 2013, Pearl Jam has come up with what might have happened if Talking Heads had invented grunge when they made “Speaking in Tongues.” The beat is funky, jabbed by jumpy rhythm guitar, and Eddie Vedder’s vocal lines hop all over the place, leaping an octave or arguing with themselves in staccato bursts or turning to sustained melody: “Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore/When the past is the present and the future’s no more.” Even if its references are obvious, Pearl Jam is clearly pushing itself. JON PARELES
Hayley Williams, ‘Simmer’
This is not pop-punk. Hayley Williams, from Paramore, drives her solo statement (although she’s still collaborating with Paramore’s guitarist Taylor York) with syncopated, almost Caribbean-tinged drums. The song starts with her panting breath pacing the beat; the video shows her on the run, nude, in a horror-movie pursuit. But her voice is levelheaded, refusing to panic, trying to gauge “the line between wrath and mercy” while vowing to protect her child. There’s more tension because she refuses to explode. PARELES
Megan Thee Stallion, ‘B.I.T.C.H.’
Megan Thee Stallion is still trying to determine the best way to package her ferocious, sharp-elbowed rhymes into a package that has both hard and soft appeal. On “B.I.T.C.H.,” she turns for inspiration to a star of an era when that was the norm: 2Pac. “B.I.T.C.H.” updates “Ratha Be Ya ____,” one of his more salacious songs (and itself an update of the Bootsy’s Rubber Band track “I’d Rather Be With You,” the bedrock of many a ’90s rap hit). But while 2Pac’s song was a flirtatious encouragement by a sexual scalawag, Megan’s version is brimming with stern resentment to a man who can’t seem to commit. Not that she’s waiting around: “I got my mind on gettin’ paid, we ain’t spoke in some days/He prolly’ thinkin’ I’m in pain but I’m really on game.” JON CARAMANICA
Mitski, ‘Cop Car’
Mitski unleashes psychic demons and massive grunge guitar chords in this inexorable eruption of a song. She sings with a sociopathic air of control as the music floods in around her — distorted guitars, queasily hyperactive strings — and she sweetly delivers a final threat. PARELES
Tony Allen and Hugh Masekela, ‘We’ve Landed’
Tony Allen, 79, is the Nigerian drummer who helped Fela Kuti invent Afrobeat in the 1970s. Hugh Masekela, who died in 2018, was a South African trumpeter who became symbolic of his country’s long-suppressed culture during the darkest years of apartheid. The two master musicians first met a half-century ago, when Masekela was working with Kuti; they discussed recording an album together for many years before finally doing it in 2010. Now, 10 years later, the results are finally being released. On “We’ve Landed” — the album’s low-key but persuasive debut single — only a simple, repeated bass line and a generous cloud of reverb stand between Allen’s quilted drumming and Masekela’s loose coils of trumpet. GIOVANNI RUSSONELLO
Madame Gandhi, ‘See Me Thru’
The singer, songwriter, drummer and producer Madame Gandhi finds a swinging backbeat — often doubletiming into drum-and-bass — for “See Me Thru,” a dreamily multilayered love song happily buffeted by rhythmic crosscurrents. The extended a cappella vocals over the video credits are an invitation to remix. PARELES
Jessie Reyez, ‘Love in the Dark’
Jessie Reyez has a special voice that’s capable of serrated soul belting and several more nuanced modes. It can sizzle, it can hiss, it can quiver with nerve. On this arresting song about loss, it’s pulsing with perseverance and strength in the face of trauma. The song moves slowly and with reverence, and Reyez is singing with sadness and restraint while drizzling in some of her signature twists. But the raw power of the words is undeniable: “I’d do anything to relive our memories/And listen to your songs play in my head/’Cause I hate the silence, it’s the only thing I get.” CARAMANICA
Wye Oak, ‘Fear of Heights’
“You say it’s worth it for the view,” Jenn Wasner sings to a partner who forces her to confront her fear of heights. The song’s restlessly strummed folk-rock ponders whether the trauma was worth it, circling through possibilities but never settling on an answer. PARELES
Wiz Khalifa featuring Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child, ‘Speed Me Up’
Maybe eight months ago, the quasi-comic sleepy-voiced rapper Sueco the Child made his debut with a viral hit, “Fast.” Now he’s on a song with Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty and Ty Dolla Sign from the soundtrack to the forthcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Also: There is a forthcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Also: Wiz Khalifa persists, rapping about “rings of gold.” This year is already wild. CARAMANICA
Endless Boogie featuring Stephen Malkmus and Matt Sweeney, ‘Jerome’
Guitars, guitars, guitars: churning and tangling and wriggling and racing and squealing. Endless Boogie, founded in 1997, put its concept in its name, bringing Minimalist drone and endurance to basic garage-rock. “Jerome” has Rolling Stones roots — it’s “Live With Me” turned into a manic fixation. Joining the members of Endless Boogie are Stephen Malkmus and Matt Sweeney on additional guitars, keeping things especially frantic. PARELES
Wire has been making lean, cleareyed, dystopian rock since its 1977 debut album, finding the common ground of punk and Minimalist repetition and distilling dire observations into telegraphic lyrics. The band is still trenchant in “Cactused” from its new album, “Mind Hive.” The song has two contrasting sections — one clinically spoke-sung, one ominously cheerful — as the lyrics note “the collective hive mind algorithmically scanning” and warn “Ooh, you better watch your step.” PARELES
Ben Williams, ‘We Shall Overcome’
Soon after he won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, Ben Williams made it clear that he intended to be more than a virtuoso bass player. His debut album, “State of Art” (2011), put him near the top of his class in a generation of jazz musicians just starting to get comfortable with their omnivorous appetite for fusion. Now 35, Williams has stayed that course; on “I Am a Man,” his forthcoming third album, looming synths and steady-rocking beats accompany songs that insist upon perseverance and social justice. The album ends with Williams’s trudging but faintly glamorous take on “We Shall Overcome,” the Civil Rights Movement anthem, with a droning synthesizer alternating between just two chords while Williams sings the lyrics in harmonized overdubs, echoes of D’Angelo’s “Africa” ricocheting around. Playlist/Notes
Smif N Wessun : The A.L.L.
The number of times I've played this since it was released, it's sure to be in my top Spotify tracks of the year. Brilliant title track from the new Smif N Wessun album, their first in a little while, this is concentrated dopeness. Nothing hidden, just Tek and Steele putting their hearts out there on the mics with 9th Wonder providing a somewhat ominous beat. It's got a little skip to the drum track, and a perfect use of the vocal and choir-like samples. Could not have been done any better.
Lil Will Productionz : Another Day, Another Dollar
The Beat Tape Project released the 36-track "Common : The Beat Tape Project" back in 2014, but it's one of their projects I only recently picked up. Lil Will comes with the crunchy drums right here.
Slum Village : Multiply
This was the easiest of the four operators to find, since this track still gets regular play on the iPod! Slum flip an old prog-rock sample (but only a tiny piece!) to spit some pure sex talk. Find this one on their self-titled fifth album.
Show & A.G. ft. Lord Finesse and D-Flow : Add On
Absolutely signature boom-bap from the 1995 "Goodfellas" album (second disk of my copy is still mysteriously missing...), with the beat magic coming from the SP and S950 of the legendary Show. The lyrics absolutely match up, with Lord Finesse opening up, D-Flow from the Ghetto Dwellas on the second, and A.G. bringing it home.
Soul Position : Share This
Not something that was in my collection before this month, but I bought it as it represented "division" in this section of the show. This is very much from the early 2000s alternative Hip-Hop scene, the strain that was a little left-field even for the underground. Soul Position brought together RJD2 on the beats and Blueprint on the mic, and this is from their debut release, "8 Million Stories". If you like Anticon-type stuff, this will be right up your street!
Wiz Khalifa : Take Away
It was much tougher than I thought to get a track that would fit the "subtraction" theme! Eventually, Wiz' sophomore album "Deal Or No Deal" turned up the goods. Big Jerm has this one sounding big and bold, and Wiz comes off raw as he expresses the feelings that came from his then-newfound success.
Eric B & Rakim : Chinese Arithmetic
When I was a kid and heard this track, I knew nothing about DJing and just imagined being able to scratch like Eric B does here - I'd say that nowadays I definitely could! An instrumental track from the debut "Paid In Full", this is pure 80s business.
Cut Chemist : Lesson 4 - The Radio
"Return of the DJ, Volume 1" was an absolute groundbreaker of a compilation. After years of the DJ being pushed to the back, and the demise of DJ tracks on Hip-Hop albums, Bomb Records had the great idea of doing an all-DJ album. The whole thing is an essential, but this particular track is significant not just because of how good it sounds, but because of the lineage it asserts. With the title "Lesson 4", it plants itself as the latest in the series of "Lesson" sample/break mixes as originally constructed by Double Dee and Steinski between 1983 and 1985. You might only know Cut Chemist as part of Jurassic 5, but he definitely holds it down on his own.
The Roots : Table of Contents (Part 1)
A short track - in fact, only half of the track as it's presented on the must-own "Things Fall Apart" album. This one is The Roots' take on/homage to "Kibbles and Bits" by Alliance - now that is digging in the crates!
Gang Starr : As I Read My S-A
Not the first song mentioned when the classic "Step In The Arena" is mentioned, but excellent just like all the rest. The young Guru (not to be confused with Young Guru) is fresh as ever on the mic, and DJ Premier is on production as well as cutting up fiercely on the turntables!
Cut Chemist : Lesson 6
Appropriately for his name, this track from "Deep Concentration" works in a bunch of chemistry samples that might just take you back to high school. The sheer volume of samples and the way they come in and out on this cut is quite something - and if you want some really deep background, check out this tape of his sketched-out ideas and sounds!
Mark B & Blade : 24 Hours (Everyday) (Instrumental)
There's always love for Mark B (RIP), but why this beat from the B-side of the "Ya Don't See The Signs" 12" in particular? Well, to follow up on the close of the Cut Chemist track, what is four times six? ;)
MF Grimm : Teacher
I love a good martial arts film, and Grimm channels that feeling on this pick from the "American Hunger" triple album. JL on the production while Grimm works everything from pressure point techniques to "Fist of Legend" and "Karate Kid" into one long verse.
Kev Brown : Homework Part 2
"No substitutes, but y'all students." It's a real shame that Kev Brown is retiring, because his records are so good. This isn't even him at full power but the quality is there to hear on this short track from the "Homework" LP, his long-awaited follow-up to the also mighty "I Do What I Do". Plenty of school references in this one, especially in the first part of the first verse.
Poor Righteous Teachers : Each One Teach One
Wise Intelligent has been on the podcast a couple of times, but this is the first inclusion of the whole PRT crew. Coming out of Trenton, New Jersey, this group hit the scene back in 1989 with conscious lyrics heavily influenced by the 5% (plenty of references in this track if you listen), and are highly respected by those in the know. This cut produced by the late Tony D from their sophomore LP "Pure Poverty" blends some reggae flavour into the mix, while Wise and Culture Freedom give us some words to live by!
Lord Jamar ft. Sadat X and Queen Tahera Earth : Study Ya Lessons
Unabashed Gods & Earths content here, from Lord Jamar's lone solo release, "The 5% Album". Sadat X is of course Jamar's bandmate from Brand Nubian with an incredibly deep catalogue of his own, but Queen Tahera Earth, the extra guest on here, makes her mark on her only on-wax appearance to date. Lord Jamar does a solid job on the production here too, it should be noted!
Kev Brown & LMNO : We Got This (Instrumental)
Went back to the "Selective Hearing" album for this beat, nice and low-key to follow the production on the Lord Jamar track without being jarring.
Leaders of the New School : Teachers, Don't Teach Us Nonsense
Long Island's Leaders were still young when their debut "A Future Without A Past" was released, and they may well have been writing from extremely recent experience here! As it happens, they were also influenced by a song from the legendary Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti, who years before recorded "Teacher Don't Teach Me Nonsense". While Busta Rhymes closes things here and ultimately became the big breakout star of the crew, I personally think Charlie Brown had a better verse on this particular track.
Please remember to support the artists you like! The purpose of putting the podcast out and providing the full tracklist is to try and give some light, so do use the songs on each episode as a starting point to search out more material. If you have Spotify in your country it's a great way to explore, but otherwise there's always Youtube and the like. Seeing your favourite artists live is the best way to put money in their pockets, and buy the vinyl/CDs/downloads of the stuff you like the most!
  Check out this episode!
