Windblight Revali
Nintendo missed a viscerally heartbreaking opportunity to fight your blight possessed friends and comrades bodies. I was obsessed with this idea when BOTW first came out, and I’ve seen some amazing variations of it!
I just never felt comfortable enough with my art to draw the version in my head. But with all the bird man practice I’ve been getting, he’s here at last! (Plus he’s relevant to my Revalink RP with my partner~)
Anyway, I’m sad now so I’m gonna go cry abt it.

Headcanon/theory - The Blights - Aoc/botw
Just here sharing a thought i had in mind for quite a while now :
Blights were actually way stronger during calamity - aka by the time they killed the champions.
This is emphasize by their designs in aoc (yes this is an AU but i think it's still nice to take that into account) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can clearly see how they all glow, seemigly full of energy while in botw they're rather "pale" and seem powerless.
They lose power probably due to :
Their fight with the champions
Waiting 100 years doing nothing
Zelda fighting Ganon in the castle
And thinking this is actually kinda scary because that would mean the blights we fight in botw are weaken versions of them. (also looking back and forth around i feel like everyone kinda agree the blights in aoc are buff compared to botw)
Which is probably the reason why Link (and be extension us) can take down the blights easily (that and MANY other factors like Sheika runes or the fact they aren't made to fight Link to begin with so don't take this as the only reason aefhpaeihfpahe)
That's it ;w;

i already yapped abt this au on this blog (expect me to start hyperfixatimg) BUT eurghhg lemme explain this au ONE MORE TIME because i love to infordumo… hrhghgho (also so all of the current info abt my au is all in one post so it’s easier to understand)
so erm instead of being a creation of ganondorf, mucktorock/morcka is actually a follower of him, as well as the other temple bosses. i might expand on why morcka (since it’s not a creation of ganon i feel like giving it a name would be cool ig) is but for now let’s just say it joined for the evil doings (SO SCARY 😨😨)anyways morcka still has its icky yucky sludge powers ofc, everything’s mainly the same except for its shark form. it resembles a zora bc i fucking had to lol. but i imagine morcka would wear its disguise as a weird ass bodysuit and stuff, also small tad tiny weeny little fun fact, morcka is usually in its shark from even when it doesn’t need it (especially around the other temple guardians) it does this because it’s short as hell and is very pissed about that.
anyways the regional phenomena was able to happen cus morcka was told to steal the secret stone of water by ganondorf, so ofc it did because it was evil. this resulted in the secret stone becoming corrupted, since morcka had been hanging out with ganondorf so much it actually became a source of corruption. this also resulted in morcka’s sludge powers amplifying to the point that its powers could affect a whole fucking region , though not that much because of the initial corruption. anyways yada yada yada and link beats the shit out of morcka with sidon, and morcka fucking dies, and the two take the secret stone back and purify it. however morcka is resseructed by the blood moon, and ends up in the depths. this causes it to have “scars” (more like its wounds being patched up by gloom), and stuff. idk
also side thing, i made a separate au back where it was the ganon blights that were the same species of their champions and were ALSO followers of calamity ganon , instead of being creations of him (idk i thought zora waterblight would be cool…) i kinda abandoned that au, and recycled it into this lol. BUT i wanted a way to bring that au back, so i thought of making it again but NO @master-kohga-dating-sim CAME UP WITH THIS GODAMN IDEA /pos
Tumblr media
im probably going to actually make the blights their parents, but idk. but it seems like a really cool idea!!!! (also so i could make this lmao)
Tumblr media
anyways credit to @kollieflower for the inspo!!!!! and @master-kohga-dating-sim for the potential idea!!!!
(EDIT: THIS IS OLD AS HELL I FUCKIMG HATE THIS??)

The Only Way To Get Someone's Head Out Of The Clouds (Is To Shoot Them Down)
yet another fic for @bugger-loz's Dark Disciples AU,,, this one is Revali and Windblight's fight (might write all of the fights as a series,,, who knows,,,,)
(note: Windblight's name has been changed from Thyelli to Anhemi. Anhemi uses he/she and Revali uses he/him)
Word count: 821 Characters: Revali, Anhemi Warnings: Major character death, gun(??? gun-adjacent weapon) violence
Black night winds blew through Revali’s feathers. He raged against the push of the air to dive and roll out of the way of the rods flying towards him.
POW, POW, POW! POW, POW, POW! Six shots fired, it was always all six at once. Revali had to swing downwards into the current in order to avoid the kinetic bombardment, but he knew he couldn't afford to lose any more altitude. Anhemi was going to chase him away from Vah Medoh or die trying, so he’d damn well stay in this dogfight until he proved the latter.
Blue lights flashed through the clouds. The rods had dissipated again and reloaded themselves into Anhemi's ballista. The heavier flap of his wings rejoined the fray as she barreled towards him. Revali pulled up just in the nick of time to avoid a collision, but the blight swung back around and grazed his side with his talons. “Your skills are impressive, Revali, but predictable. You just can't tell when you're in over your head.”
His voice hadn't changed a bit since the beginning of the fight, she was still so infuriatingly calm. “If I have to die to kill you, so be it! Don't underestimate spirit because you’ve never had it yourself, freak!”
He had to peel away before he was finished speaking. Anhemi had stirred up more tornados and flung them towards him. He beat his wings furiously to escape the cyclones threatening to send him spiraling out of control.
Anhemi was moving. It was hard to see him, but ever so often, Revali would catch a flash of her appearing from one cloud and disappearing into another. Even though he had a good idea of the direction he was headed, it was too risky to fire blind shots into the clouds and waste arrows.
Noise rang from the clouds. POW, POW, POW! POW, POW, POW! The shots came out of nowhere, Revali was barely able to weave out of their way. He bent his back in a bad way to dodge one, causing him to drop and spin for a heart-stopping moment.
Anhemi was out in the open now, his silhouette bold against the clouds. All he did was hover there menacingly, not saying a word. The beating of her wings cut through the screams of the squall surrounding them.
“Come on! You’re never gonna get me like that! Don't be a coward! COME AND GET SOME!”
He got the pattern this time. Turn up to avoid the tornados, just like that…He pulled out his bow. The rods flew out- POW, POW, POW!
Only three rang through the air. In the split second that Anhemi was still, he drew an arrow and fired.
THRK!
Anhemi plummeted to Vah Medoh, screeching and writhing in a mess of feathers. Revali had scored a direct hit, the shaft of the arrow was stuck firmly into the blight’s left eye socket. She hit the deck with a hard THUD.
Revali couldn't hold back a triumphant shout. Anhemi was a sitting duck, the moonlit shine of his blood already visible. For just that moment, he let his guard down. Range be damned, he was gonna score a point blank shot to the skull. Hell yeah, that’d show the bastard.
As he dove in to get closer, his heart stopped. The drawstring of the ballista pulled back again.
The three unfired rods shot. POW, POW, POW!
Revali was too close. He didn't have the room to pull back or the time to turn sharply. All he could do was watch as he went headfirst towards the bombardment.
A white-hot pain shot through his entire arm as one of the rods tore through his wing.
The adrenaline was enough to get him back away from the deck. For a second, it felt like nothing had happened at all, but then he started to stagger through the sky. He tried to beat his wings, but to no avail. The wind wasn't catching in them anymore, he couldn't gain altitude. He couldn't fight gravity's grip on him, and he started to fall.
He blew past Vah Medoh’s underside as farther and farther he plummeted. With every fiber of strength he had, he raged against the wind. He hoped for any kind of breeze or lift, but nothing he could do was enough.
Blue lights crackled through the air. Anhemi was above him at the height of the deck, looking down. She wasn't so calm anymore; the beating of his wings was more erratic, the arrow was still sticking out of her skull, the look in his remaining eye was one of the only details Revali could still make out. Gone was the expressionless mask, peeled away to reveal the skin under it. A look of raw, visceral hatred and spite.
The rods clicked back into place.
POW, POW, POW, POW, POW, POW!
Revali was dead before he hit the ground.

BotW’s blights and divine beast designs are so fucking boring and I’m mad no one seems to recognise this enough. To me, the most interesting was Vah Ruta because it had such memorable puzzles to me. I will never stop remembering how it took an embarrassing amount of times to jump off that fucking trunk correctly. Anyway, the main issue for the divine beast interiors are that it all looks so similar inside that I got lost so often (and it’s not just my bad sense of direction talking, I’ve heard this from a bunch of other people too). And with the blights, they all look so damn same-y that there’s nothing very memorable about each individual design unless you’re looking at them for so long trying to recreate them in some way. I genuinely cannot tell you which one had that massive arm and which one was basically just a torso.
It would have been so cool to incorporate elements of each Champion and their hometowns into the Blight designs to differentiate them. Vah Medoh floats above snowy mountaintops that houses the Rito, so why not have Windblight be this monster formed from blackened snow and ice and the feathers of those it’s claimed the life of held together by Calamity Ganon’s bindings and Malice, using Revali’s Gale to form its tornados. Waterblight could have its chest cavity completely frozen over with Mipha’s body inside, feeding off of her healing magic as it chucks around giant ice projectiles from freezing the surrounding waters. Fireblight could be formed purely from rock and stone with weak spots from cracks of magma instead of just its eye, compared to the sleeker designs of its brethren, making it a heavy hitter but very slow and easily susceptible to Link’s mining weaponry, meaning it uses Daruk’s Protection to keep it safe in times of low health. And Thunderblight, the bugger, has easily got the most recognisable Blight design because of its smaller build and the ancient weaponry it uses. But I’d go one step further and make it made purely of different golds and metals, with those pillars it throws at Link spiking straight through its back like a warped, metal spine. If I wanted to go even further, I’d say it adorns itself with the jewellery and headpieces of those it has killed like trophies of its accomplishment.
And the inside of the Divine Beasts could have been just as interesting as their exteriors, despite being discovered as Sheikah-built relics. Imagine if once each race found the Divine Beasts, they made them their own since you know, they are known to be able to communicate with the beasts somehow and literally pilot them. Perhaps these decorations were created by the previous Champions from 10,000 years ago, rather than the ones of more recent memory.
Vah Medoh gives me such huge Castle in the Sky vibes, all I can think about is if they made the inside this grand, overgrown relic of a structure. I imagine stone and wooden archways and pillars with engravings of the Rito, covered in frozen moss and vines. Feathers and once-vividly coloured, now greyed pieces of cloth hang from them by string, some broken off by Malice and burnt to crisp, while others were consumed by plants in the hundred years it took Link to wake from his slumber and free both Revali and his divine beast.
The Zora are quite proud with their culture and people and Vah Ruta was likely considered a part of said culture. Imagine if Vah Ruta were covered in luminous stones and beautiful gemstones naturally lighting the beast and its slumber within the depths of the reservoir lake covered it in corals and seagrass and kelp and colourful algae. It had become a beautiful oasis for ocean life while spewing out all that water that had begun to overflow the reservoir. But, these fish had to adapt to the Malice that contaminated the waters, and so became mutated and not quite right. They all glow with the shadows the luminous stone don’t light. It may be best that Link doesn’t try to fish from or drink the waters within Vah Ruta.
Personally, I feel that the best part about Vah Rudania was the part right at the beginning that had Link lighting torches and killing Malice in the dark. I feel it would be fun if the inside was basically all done in complete darkness and each terminal would open up one of Rudania’s little sunroofs, showing the place is completely full of volcanic rock and magma seeping through small cracks that initially provide slivers of light for Link as he marches through without a torch. Doors are made almost completely of  strong volcanic glass structures that shatter upon the original doors, now almost completely crumbled in from some crushing force, mechanism forcing it to open. I imagine that the floor had barely any Malice due to it being burned to nothing by molten lava flow, which is what Link has to avoid instead. Doesn’t stop it from growing on the walls, though.
Oddly enough, I imagine Vah Naboris to be the most like its canon design, mostly because the main chamber functions exactly as it should. It’s got a huge amount of space for the turning mechanism and the Thunderblight fight, and I think that’s how it should be. Though, it would be nice to imagine that there’s a bunch of engravings and scratchings into the surface of the Divine Beast about the Gerudo and their beliefs and such. I like to imagine that even Urbosa has contributed to them despite having her hands tied with all of her chiefly duties.
Yeah, BotW had bland dungeons and bosses, but pretty much everything else makes up for it tbh.

2 for the wip game
Thanks for the ask! Ooo... my darkest fic (so far). This one's in pieces at the moment, but here's a bit of it, set not long after Zelda seals Ganon in the castle, allowing Revali a moment of clarity after his possession. I'm going to put it below the cut cause there's some possible triggers in here (and it's a little long). CW: vomiting, implied/suggested rape metaphor. This clip is rated M for Mature, you have been warned!
Revali collapses to his knees and falls over, just barely holding himself up with his shaking wings.  The Malice falls from him in clumps, each one making a sickening splattering sound as they hit Medoh’s back.  Suddenly his insides clench, and he hurls for a full minute.
Once that unpleasantness is over, he can hear the thrum of Medoh’s propellers, the hum of the control panel, the sound of wind.  Goddess, he can feel the wind blowing through his feathers!  He can sense the wind currents…  He can see again, through his own eyes!
Fuck! Everything hurts so much!  He has a horrible taste in his mouth…  He stares at the black filth that just came out of his body, staining Medoh’s back.  He can feel how matted his feathers are…  Shit, he can’t fly like this!  The demon’s filth is caked around the base of his beak, his nares, his ears, his…
Revali sobs upon realizing how thoroughly he’s been violated.  He’d retch again, but there’s absolutely nothing left inside him now…
“Master, please hurry!  We don’t have much time!”
Revali looks behind himself, that THING has collapsed into a puddle of filth and scraps of Ancient Sheikah tech.  If he was armed, he’d shoot every bomb arrow he had into that pile, but alas he dropped the precious bow his maternal uncle gave him, and he has no arrows at all.
“What should I do?” he says in a weak, pathetic voice not fitting of the Champion of the Rito.  Goddess what a disgrace he is!
“Get to my control panel!  Hurry!”
In spite of the excruciating pain he’s in, Revali succeeds in pushing himself to his feet.  He slowly stumbles his way to the control panel, one agonizing step at a time.
“You’re doing good Master.  Keep it up!”
“Don’t patronize me!”
Suddenly, a Rito woman of the Orni Tribe appears before him!  She has the usual slightly curved beak, but her feathers are black and… gold?  Wait, why doesn’t she have beak markings?  Every Rito has ultraviolet markings on their beaks, unique to the individual!
Never mind that!  How did she just materialize in front of him?  Is this a hallucination?  Has he lost the last bit of sense that he had?
Wait…  Her braids…  The frame holding them is adorned with Vah Medoh’s emblem!  Her eyes… that blue glow…
“Vah Medoh?!”
The woman speaks, confirming that she is in fact a project of Vah Medoh’s…  Spirit?   “Since you are being stubborn, I shall have to switch tactics,” her feathers bristle, “Get off your tail feathers and get to that control panel now!”
She points at it and while Revali’s in no mood to be sassed by HIS Divine Beast, he complies and heads that way as best he can.  Time’s running out, he can hear the Malice behind him beginning to gurgle again.
“You are almost there,” she attempts to reassure him, “Just keep going, one foot in front of the other.”
He snaps, “I know how to walk!”
He trips, but manages to catch himself on the edge of the control panel and pulls himself up.
“What now?”
Vah Medoh’s projection walks up to him, “We need to lock Windblight out of my systems before it regains its strength.”
“Windblight?”
“It is what Primary Target calls his creation.”
Well, the name certainly fits it…  But, “You can’t call it something else?”
Medoh’s projection tilts her head, “Why?”
“I,” Revali’s voice cracks, “…I’d rather not personify that…  abomination!”
She suddenly looks very… sad.  “I see,” she replies gently, “Very well.  Secondary Target is recovering and we are currently heading straight for Torikirika (Toe-re-key-ri-ka).”
[Torikirika is the Rito name for Rito Village BTW]

Link tober day 15 but actually 14 because my Ganon sketch prompt was more inspiring.
Yeah, so, I’ve had a crazy busy week and also I slept like all day yesterday to become something of a person again. So we just are gonna press on and see what prompts inspire me?
Revali is a fighter, with what shreds of his pride he withholds in his last moments, he makes sure to let Ganon know that worse is coming for him. His last hope is believing that Link will come and do what he could not…the lingering regrets that he didn’t tell him everything would drive his belief in him for the next 100 years.
I tried to match the injuries on my Windblight Revali design since this would be moments before his possession—anyway ✌️ I’m going to sit in my feelings now!

reblogging this again but
BIRTH OF GOHRRA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Faces Of Eons
more for Sakiru, this is kind of a follow up to Return. here we have Sakiru meeting the main silly guys of the AU :3
(for @bugger-loz's dungeon boss AU, Dark Disciples)
Word count: 1268 Characters: Sakiru, Astor, Original characters (the blights and temple bosses), Kohga and Sooga (briefly) Warnings: None
The four stood there in silence, facing Sakiru and the apostle with exaggerated expressions ranging from bewilderment to annoyance. Not knowing what to say, Sakiru stood there and studied their features.
There weren't many collective similarities between them. They were all different shapes and species- a thin and lanky gerudo who appeared to be a man, A built and stocky goron, a tall-statured zora, and a barrel-chested rito. All of them were flicking their eyes between Sakiru and the robed man.
After a minute of silence, the apostle spoke. “I told you that the Demon King’s alchemist turned himself into a construct.”
“I… guess that is a construct… but you at least could’ve told us what that meant! We weren’t exactly expecting a full on robot, ya know?” “What were you expecting?” He threw their hands in the air. “I don’t know, but it damn well wasn’t that!”
The apostle sighed and rubbed his forehead. “Enough. The point is that he’s here now. You may call him Sakiru. That was the name that he took in life.”
“Sakiru,” The rito murmured under his breath.
The apostle turned his head to Sakiru. “I wanted you to meet these people. These are the ones who call themselves The Blights, followers of Calamity Ganon. Each of them serve as their respective element.”
He gestured to all of them, one by one. First the gerudo. “Raedihn is the blight of thunder.” The rito. “Thyelli is the blight of the winds.” The zora. “Ahvesus is the blight of the waters.” The goron. “And finally, Kohlasi is the blight of fire.” He crossed his arm over his chest and bowed. “I am the prophet of doom. You may call me Astor.”
Sakiru looked from Astor to the blights. “...That’s not all of them. What do you mean?”
Astor stood up from his bow, masking his confusion with false confidence. “I assure you, that is all four of them. Each counteracts a certain person, a general in our enemy’s army. Every single one is accounted for.”
“But what of light? What of spirit?”
A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, but he still kept some of that confusion. “You’ve been down there quite a while, you must not be up to speed. There is no ‘spirit’ that you speak of. The light, Princess Zelda, is opposed by the calamity itself.”
Before Sakiru could ask any questions, Ahvesus cut through with a sarcastic laugh. “Look, prophecy man. We don’t have all day. This isn’t exactly, you know, time for a little history lesson.” They hissed that part through gritted teeth. “So can we please get to the point?”
Astor nodded. “Of course. Right this way, Sakiru.”
He opened the wooden doors and let them out. The quiet of the room they were in seemed infectious, the bustle of the outside going silent in nearly a second. The strange masked men clothed in red suits stared at them and shuffled out of their way to clear a path.
While they walked, Sakiru perked his mechanical ears up. He noticed two men in the crowd: one of them significantly taller than the rest of them, the other jumping around and waving his arms in the air. “Sooga, lift me up! I wanna see em!”
The tall man named Sooga picked him up by the armpits and lifted him to about the height of his chest. The other man, wearing a more extravagant mask and noticeably more stout than the others, put a hand at his forehead to shield his eyes from sunlight that wasn’t in the underground hideout. “Woah! What in Ganon’s name is that? Is that the alchemist guy that Astor was talking about?”
The man stopped speaking and demanded to be let down when Sakiru looked at him. Before he could fully squirm out of his position, they entered the next room.
Just like the one that they met in, this room had no masked men in it. There were three mounds of blankets and cushions, along with a wooden tub of water clearly separated from the fabrics. As they walked in, Astor jingled the jewelry in his hair.
The four beings in the room perked up, intrigued by the noise. They were… babies. A gerudo girl, a goron pebble, a zora fry, and a rito hatchling. They crawled a little closer to Sakiru. Fascinated, but wary of danger.
The Blights looked at each other and waited for one of them to say something. Thyelli took that responsibility. “...These are our children,” she said. “Moruka, Gohrra, Gyba, and my son, Colgheri. You… can imagine why this is so important to us.”
“I see…” Sakiru rasped as he kneeled down. Gyba got a little closer and reached out. Her little fingers grasped one of the zonaite prongs at the end of his arm. She giggled as he raised his hand a little bit, lifting her a few inches off the ground.
The other kids joined their friend to meet the newcomer. Ahvesus picked up their child as they waddled over. “This is war. If anything goes wrong… yeah, not risking it. We can’t fight and take care of them at the same time.”
“What about these masked men? There’s plenty of them.”
Astor scoffed. “Sakiru, let’s just say that I wouldn’t trust those buffoons with a dog, much less children. The Yiga are a bad influence, and I doubt they’d feed them anything but bananas. We only work with them out of necessity.”
Ahvesus wiped off a bit of water that Moruka spit in their face. “We need our futures and legacies to be protected, unless the calamity doesn’t go entirely to plan. Since you have no counterpart, could we rely on you?” Sakiru picked Gohrra off of the floating pieces of his arms. “For fellow disciples of darkness, I will do what I can.”
-
“What do you mean, ‘no spirit’? What happened to the fifth sage?”
Astor and Sakiru were alone now in the quiet of the night. Everyone else had gone to bed. The only sound accompanying them was the wildlife in the highlands.
“I found out about you through the stone archives in the temples I’ve unearthed. I’ve seen depictions of the ‘sages’ you speak of, but I assure you that there were only four. Perhaps something has been lost to time.”
“But you spoke of Princess Zelda, I remember her… It can’t have been that long.”
“Interesting. It seems there really is more going on here than I imagined…” He turned back to him. “But it really has been that long. Based on the age of the archives, you’ve been in that temple for at least ten thousand years.”
“T- ten… ten thousand years…”
Sakiru couldn’t move his arms. His whole body seized up. His heart stopped beating in its jar.
“It’s a lot to take in, but-”
He cut Astor off. “Ten thousand years…! Ten thousand-! TEN THOUSAND YEARS!”
And with that, he threw his glass head back and looked up towards the sky. From his jaws, brought from the air itself, he let forth a cackle like he had never laughed before. Such a deep and throaty noise that didn’t travel through his severed neck, not coming from jarred lungs that never filled with air to create it. All through the night, he laughed and laughed up towards a sky full of stars that he didn’t recognize anymore.
Rauru was dead. Mineru was dead. Every single hylian under their command was now the dirt that his zonai feet walked upon. It didn’t matter. He did it.
He was immortal.
