How Behind The Scenes with Ynna started
Tumblr media
One afternoon, my sister Anykka, who had launched her own production and digital company called TRIPLE A PRODUCTION, asked me, "Why don't you revive your YouTube channel?" I responded, "You know, Anykka, I'm not quite ready for that yet. I don't have the time, and there are various other reasons, but okay, I'll consider it and brainstorm what I could do."
At that time, my husband and I were planning to travel around the Philippines, so I suggested, "Why not create a travel vlog? Eventually, it could really take off. When Bully becomes a pilot, we'll be traveling all over the Philippines anyway, so why not document it? But it might be too much effort, it could be costly, and on top of that, we have a child to take care of. Also, my husband is concerned that we might share too much and expose our private life. He's not comfortable with that, and I respect his feelings."
On June 11, 2023, I found myself unable to sleep, so I began praying and seeking guidance from God. I pondered how I could continue pursuing my goals and dreams now that I was married and a new mother. I realized I needed to devise a plan to redirect and align my aspirations. That's when the idea struck me: Why not create a talk show?
Having my own talk show had always been a dream of mine. I had started my showbiz career as a TV host at the age of 14, before transitioning into acting. I hosted two seasons of a teen magazine show called CANDIES on QTV CHANNEL 11 in 2005. Landing that job involved auditioning and waiting in line for nearly six hours under the scorching sun at the GMA 7 network studio. I vividly recall the excitement of being offered the role of main host alongside Inah Estrada and Win Wyn Marquez. The show aired for 7 months, during which Rhian Ramos and Andi Manzano replaced Winwyn Marquez in the second season. After that experience, I ventured into acting, but the desire to host my own show never faded.
Tumblr media
So, as a gift for my 32nd birthday and marked 18 years in the showbiz industry, I decided to turn my dream into reality. I envisioned a talk show that would inspire and empower mothers from all walks of life, especially celebrity moms like myself. Recognizing the lack of representation for our generation of young celebrity mothers, I aimed to create something different from the typical vlogs or travel content. Whether the show became a hit or not, I was determined to pursue my dream with faith in my project, my team, and myself, knowing that God was on our side.
And thus, "Behind the Scenes with Ynna" was born on YouTube—a talk show where every day is Mother's Day. Featuring celebrity and real moms, the show delves into daily life struggles, offering both information and inspiration for families. Join us for a roller coaster ride of emotions as we share real stories and remind everyone that celebrities are human beings too, and moms deserve to be celebrated.

Remembering 2017 :(
Tumblr media
2017 has been a year of upsets. Many Filipinos still can’t begin to grasp why some of these happened or even believe that they did. Their repercussions will echo into 2018, whether good or bad. Here are 10 of the top stories that spilled broadsheet ink, captured broadcast airtime, and were shared virally in social media IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER.
 10. The Marawi siege
Marawi witnessed one of the Philippine military's longest and bloodiest battles since World War II against local armed groups whose leaders pledged allegiance to the international terrorist network Islamic State (ISIS). And despite the liberation of Marawi from terror threats, Mindanao is still placed under martial law. Initially declared on May 23 through Proclamation 216, President Duterte asked Congress for an extension twice. Martial law will remain in effect for one more year, until the end of 2018.
 9. Continuous denial that extrajudicial killings happened
The killings under Duterte's war on drugs continued in 2017 with the number of those killed in police operations reaching almost 4,000 – according to government-released data. Patricia Evangelista's series on police operations – particularly those in Quezon City – highlighted how the drug war is fought in places where privilege does not extend.
Cases involving teenagers like 17-year-old Kian delos Santos and 19-year-old Carl Arnaiz resulted in a public outcry, yet law authorities have refused to acknowledge that extrajudicial killings happened.
 8. The rise of fake news and trolls
The Philippines continued to battle fake news and trolls in 2017 – and based on how the Senate hearing on the issue was handled, 2018 might not be any different. The year 2017 was also the year of Mocha Uson as she was appointed assistant secretary in the Palace. Caught spreading disinformation several times, Uson claims she is a victim of fake news.
7. 'Improved' friendship with China
The Philippines used to be the strongest voice against China's aggression in the South China Sea. Under Duterte, the two countries formed a bond that could challenge the existence of a Hague ruling. A pragmatic Duterte has defended this position, saying the Philippines cannot afford to go to war with China. The rekindled friendship has resulted in the entry of a Chinese company as an investor that could break the current duopoly in the Philippine telecommunications industry.
 6. ASEAN Summit ‘17
The 31st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits gathered leaders from the ten ASEAN member countries and their dialogue partners from November 10-14 where world leaders discussed hot topics from economic integration and extremism to trade and territorial dispute – both during the summits and bilateral meetings on the sidelines.
 5. Back-to-back pageant wins
And who would forget the two Pinay beauties who brought the crown in our country? Karen Ibasco who won Miss Earth 2017, while Wyn Marquez bagged the Philippines’ first-ever Reina Hispanoamericana title.
 4. Power to prison
It was on February 24 when De Lima surrendered to the Philippine National Police over drug charges filed against her by the Department of Justice (DOJ). The Supreme Court has since ruled against her, legitimizing her arrest.
To this day, De Lima maintains these are fabricated cases against her and that they were a way for President Rodrigo Duterte to get back at her for investigating the Davao Death Squad.
 3. The Dengvaxia Controversy
Around 10 percent of over 800,000 students who were immunized with Dengvaxia, but did not have a prior dengue infection, now face contracting a "severe disease," according to the vaccine's manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur.
Following the announcement, the Department of Health (DOH) halted its nationwide dengue immunization program and has demanded billions in pesos as a refund for the vaccines.
Meanwhile, both Congress and the Justice Department are digging deeper into the controversy, with officials from the current and previous administrations.
 2. MRT’s mishaps
Who would also forget the most loved transpo of almost everyone? For just a span of two months some of our fellow Filipinos experienced the ‘never-experienced-before’ of their lives. MRT train catches fire, MRT coach gets detached, MRT unload passengers because of technical failure (and imagine walking trip from Ayala to Buendia), and two women who met a… terrible fate: one who loses her right arm and another one who died after being collapsed inside the train.
1.      Duterterserye
Of course! The first family of the country. What I like most about this family is that they never failed to make headlines everyday. And just before 2017 ends Isabelle Duterte managed to be listed on the list. With her Malacañang inspired err no, her place for her pre-debut shoot. The photoshoot sparked an outrage and are questioned by many according to the law.
