"Michelle Dee: Our Miss Universe just set her self free"
Michelle Daniela Marquez Dee is a Filipino actress, model, TV presenter, talk show host, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023. She will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2023 competition in El Salvador. Dee previously won Miss World Philippines 2019. Michelle Dee is the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and former action star Derek Dee. Michelle is the second Filipina beauty queen to win both the Miss World Philippines and Miss Universe Philippines crowns. Michelle Dee of Makati bested 37 other candidates to take home the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2023 during the pageant’s coronation night on Saturday, May 13. The 28-year-old stunner succeeded the title from Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi to clinch her second crown from a national pageant. For avid pageant fans, Michelle needs no introduction. Before competing in Miss Universe Philippines, she already reigned as Miss World Philippines 2019, and competed in the international pageant, wherein she finished as part of the Top twelve. Being the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and cousin of Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Winwyn Marquez, many think that Michelle was also keen on becoming a beauty queen. According to Rappler.
Recently, Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee confirms her sexuality. Giving us the facts and real time answers about her identity. "I definitely identify myself as bisexual. I've identified with that for as long as I can remember. I'm attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes," she said on the cover story of Mega Magazine's digital June issue. June is celebrated globally as Pride Month. After her photos ten years ago gone viral like a virus on the internet; Michelle clarifies and give a wonderful statement that she labeled as "confirming" rather than "revealing". By the confirmation she gave, it makes herself free the feeling; just how the true queen in the making. We all know her as an icon in showbiz and pageantry, but this side of herself is just a sublime entry. Being brave to come out after all those years as a public figure, letting the truth comes out even its shade her from being so pure; is the reason why she needed more love, support and exposure. As our current Miss Universe Queen, Michelle already give a remarkable feeling; by her snake like walk and venomous thoughts that is literally killing. Many people hoping that Michelle can get a honorable position in the Miss Universe pageant, since Celeste Cortesi ends our 12 years streak in the prestigous pageant; making the country feels sad on the last year's event.
This wonderful woman named Michelle Dee mark herself as a inspiration and beauty definition, she deserves the crown and all that attention. Being part of LGBTQIA++ Community is a top tier challenge, yet Michelle took the crown and be a queen for a better change. So lets support her for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant this year, by getting the fift crown let them hear. .

MICHELLE MARQUEZ DEE : READY TO CONQUER THE WORLD Noli A. Berioso Reigning Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Marquez Dee is set to leave the country on November 19 to compete at the 69th edition of Miss World beauty pageant to be held at the ExCel Arena, London, United Kingdom scheduled on December 14. A special send-off press conference was given to her by Miss World Philippines organization led by their CEO and President Arnold Vegafria held last November 13 at Nanka Japanese Restaurant in Roces Quezon City. He believes that Michelle will be a clear standout when she get there in London. “Her Filipina looks, plus her experience as an actress and model is a big plus factor and her heart is in the right place when it comes to her personal advocacy”, Vegafria says. “There will be a lot of pressure living up to her family’s legacy, (her mother Melanie Marquez actress and Miss International 1979 and cousin Winwyn who was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017), but let’s just hope she does her best”, Vegafria adds. The afternoon send-off party was hosted by former Miss Eco International 2017 and now a GMA Artist contract star Tia Thomalla. Her Miss World Philippines 2019 sisters were also visible (Miss Eco Philippines Kelly Day, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Katrina Llegado, Miss Multinational Philippines Isabelle De Leon, Miss Philippines Tourism Glyssa Perez, Miss Teen Eco Philippines Mary Daena Ressureccion and 2nd Princess Casie Banks) to wish her the best of luck and to give her the much needed support. The best of the Philippine fashion also contributed to ensure that Michelle will be wearing the best outfits, gowns, costume and shoes through-out the Miss World 2019 pageant. Francis Libiran, Renee Salud, Nono Palmos, Chris Nick and Jojo Bragais come together with a unified goal to support Michelle in her quest for the second Miss World crown for the country. “I’ve always wanted to be someone who can lend a hand to those who need it and someone you can rely on. Something I aspire to become is a pillar of positive influence as well. We have a long way to go in our quest for a perfect world , but it is through example that we can make large wave together. I believe that pageantry especially Miss World has really changed through time. Beauty With a Purpose is their motto, hence it is not just about finding the prettiest among a group of women, but finding a girl that has the most to offer not only for her country but to the whole world as well. If given the chance to wear the Miss World crown, I want to be a queen that doesn’t just have title, but someone who can actually make a change and won’t settle for less”, Michelle says in front of the media and other guests who attended her press conference. Michelle will be accompanied by her family, handlers from MWP and GMA – 7. The Miss World 2019 pageant will be telecast live via satellite via GMA-7 on December 14, Saturday at 10pm. Miss World Philippines would like to thank Goju, Blue Water Day Spa, M&M’s and Double mint for providing the souvenirs for the visitors of the press conference.

TOP 10 MOST TALKED OF 2017
Ten days to go before a brand new year kicks in I have compiled news and events that strike the country by surprise and makes us proud being part of the Filipino wave including that of the Philippines hosting the ASEAN Summit. So, the list goes on with being the most talked and something to be proud of, to something that is raising awareness to daily happenings.
1. August 16 – A 17-year-old Kian Loyd Delos Santos was fatally shot dead by police officers conducting an anti-drug operation in Caloocan, Metro Manila. The case became controversial when the official police reports differed from witness accounts and CCTV footage. This would cause thousands of marchers to protest in EDSA heeding calls from the Philippine Catholic Church to criticize the drug war and the Senate to investigate the killing. Hundreds attend the funeral procession of Delos Santos on August 26.
2. September 12 – The House of Representatives of the Philippines approves a bill that limits the budget of the Commission on Human Rights to only ₱1,000 or US$20.
3. November 10–12 – The Philippines hosted the 31st ASEAN Summit Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City, Pampanga.
4. August 19–30 – The Philippines competed at the 29th Southeast Asian Games held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Philippines finished the 29th SEA Games in 6th place with a medal haul of 24 Golds, 33 Silvers and 64 Bronze which is the country's worst finish in 18 years. The next edition of the Southeast Asian Games will be hosted by the Philippines in 2019.
5. June 2 – A gunman attacked Resorts World Manila in Pasay around midnight, caused a major panic within the complex. Around 38 people were dead, due to smoke inhalation from the fire while injuring 70 people.
6. June 28 – Maureen Wroblewitz, representing the Philippines, was declared as the grand winner of Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5.
7. November 4 – Karen Ibasco, was crowned Miss Earth 2017 held at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, followed by Wynwyn Marquez being crowned as Reina Hispanoamericana-Filipinas 2017 held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on November 5.
8. October 3 – The controversial and fearless transformation of Marlou Arizala to Xander Ford featured by Sunday show Rated K on ABS-CBN channel.
9. November 4 – actress and singer Isabel Granada died in Hamad General Hospital Qatar she had suffered from brain hemorrhage and aneurysm that affected her heart. Isabelle is just 41 years old and many had saddened by the sudden news.
10. December 1 – The Department of Health (DOH) temporarily suspends a school-based dengue vaccination program after Dengvaxia vaccine maker Sanofi Pasteur made a statement that its product poses higher risks to people without prior dengue infection.
Overall, the year had shaken us with anger, happiness, and awareness. Some events made us realize how talented the Philippines is in different aspects, and how the government is changing its rules and some for our rich entertainment culture.

Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 in NYC
Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Lacsamana Marquez, Reina Hispanoamericana 2017, planned her New York vacation after her Bolivian sojourn. “I really wanted to visit NYC again. It has been a long time since I have been to the “Big Apple”. I want to explore and see NYC again.” she enthused during an interview in Wyandanch, Long Island where she was staying during her vacation.
Winwyn revealed that during the first few days during the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant she felt so lost because of the language barrier. “I would cry every night! My Tita Ailyn and Kuya Yeoj kept me sane during those times. I am so grateful that the other delegates really helped me out. I used sign language if I could not say something I wanted to express. Some of the ladies would translate for me most of the time. Then out of nowhere the Filipinos in Bolivia started to visit me and that really boosted my confidence. There are around thirty Filipinos living there and all of them assured me of their support on the night of the Finals. Hearing them cheer made me do my best throughout the pageant. There were only thirty of them in the venue, but it felt like the whole Philippines was there!” It is interesting to note that apart from the tremendous support of Filipino fans online, Winwyn also got messages from several beauty queens from other neighboring Asian countries. “I am so thankful to everybody who showed their love while I was in the competition.”.
She also mentioned that she learned many things during her stay in Bolivia. “I have learned to be a stronger person and that I can face all the challenges thrown my way. Being with the Latin Beauties made me strive to give everything I had during the competition. I only had three weeks to prepare for the pageant and I will make sure the the next Filipina delegate will be more prepared next year.
Winwyn believes that being cooperative, friendly and always being receptive helped her a lot during her stint. Her answer to the question came from her heart. “I experienced it first hand. The organizers and fellow candidates made me feel loved despite my limited knowledge of Spanish, that’s why I will learn Spanish so that I can express to them all my gratitude and love when I see them again in the future.”.
The queen also revealed her plans of partnering with her alma mater, Southville College, in projects that will involve teaching students in the near future. “I already have my teaching certificate so I would really love to influence people by sharing what I know. As Reina Hispanoamericana 2017, I have a bigger voice and can influence more people.”.
