That TFATWS deleted scene! Whether you're SamBucky or BuckySarah or neither, something that's certain is that Bucky is now part of this family. When he arrives, the kids immediately greet him and ask 'what took you so long', indicating they've grown fond of him and there have been interactions that we haven't seen. The whole cake thing seems to be something he brought to the cookout with them in mind, too. (Kinda like, 'oh, I need to bring something. I bet the kids will like cake!')Then we get Sam's "Uncle Winter Soldier" comment, then at the end of the clip we see Bucky interact first with AJ and then Cass. He's important to them, and they are important to him. That concept of found family in this context, with all Bucky has lost and been through, is just really beautiful to see. It's a trope I've seen play out in fanfic again and again, and something I've written myself--and it just feels like the fandom won in so many ways in this clip.💖

Aside from the gut punch of Denny almost dying in an otherwise silly episode, the other thing that bothered me about Wilson family plot was Karen complaining about Hen working on Halloween. She's used to this. It's part of the deal when you're married to a firefighter, and taking three kids trick-or-treating isn't all that hard when two of them are as old as Denny and Mara. Complaining about it didn't feel like a Karen thing to do.

I think it would have been much more interesting if Mara was the one who had a hard time with it. Sure, she's been living with first responders for seven months or so, but Halloween might be the first Big Occasion that one of her moms or foster parents has missed. We could have had some great scenes with Denny and Mara (played by two fantastic young actors!) talking about it, or Mara giving Hen a bit of the cold shoulder when she doesn't take the night off.

And it would be neat for Mara to see Hen being amazing at her job for the first time, and then change her mind about Hen missing Halloween with the family.

Anyways the Henren disagreement felt like cooked-up drama, when we could have had something more interesting and realistic about Mara adjusting to her new family.

Everything about Mara’s backstory is absolutely heartbreaking but damn this little girl has hit the jackpot of families, baby girl you don’t know it yet but you are going to be so loved and supported and protected, and it is going to be amazing to watch you grow ❤️

Can we talk about how Denny is a national treasure too. Like, this precious baby boy, lost his little sister and was so upset by it. But he still said yes to his moms to foster more kids even though he knows none of them would stay AND is so super sweet to them as their temporary older brother 🥹. Most kids don't have empathy like he does. Denny is such a gem.

SLADE: A Deathstroke Fancomic #3

Part I

Hey guys! Im sorry for not posting anything all these months, this is the first part of what it is the 3rd and last issue I did for my fancomic series SLADE that i made a year ago, the idea was to make an issue for each of Slade’s child but unfortunately i never got to make Rose’s 😣, but at least here is Joey’s, or as most of you know… Jericho, i really hope this could be a nice introduction for the character if this is the first time you are going to read about him, Joey is basically the kind and heroic son of Slade, younger brother of Grant but older than Rose, but who unfortunately pays the direct consequences of his dad’s job , changing his life forever.

Okay by the end of S8 we are owed Wilson family happy domestic scenes please. Let Karen walk into the living room and Denny is telling Mara about his mom's work and space for her school project. Let them celebrate birthdays and have silly family disputes that aren't devastating and life altering PLEASE. Also if we don't get a happy adoption party for Mara I am going to fight someone. Although I think we probably most likely will, and potentially by the end of 8a?
