new Lulu is really growing on me. I'm here for it. She has the Spencer survival instincts.
Sad times that Lulu was so forgotten by everyone that James didn't recognize his mom's bestie. Like for real, you didn't have a single pic out? He doesn't realize y'all live in your bff's house?
That scene with Gio was SO unnecessary. They have nothing for that guy to do, so they throw in a scene where he's playing outside in late November in New York so he can... see Lulu? Who he doesn't know. and does nothing to move the plot along
Huge points for Rocco being the first to see her and recognize her. What a wild Thanksgiving for him
Tracy better be the next person to come into that room. Or Olivia. But if they don't include Tracy in a scene, it's a crime.
And like... call Laura, fam
I swear to God, if they try to bring in Willow into this Lulu reunion stuff because she's "a nurse," I will rage. Keep your Bensons away from this.

The General Hospital audience has had some pretty strong opinions about Drew — after bedding his enemy, Nina — turning around and kissing her daughter, Willow. Aside from the “ick” factor of Drew’s romantic entanglement with mother and daughter, Willow is married to his nephew, Michael!
As it turns out, Drew’s portrayer, Cameron Mathison, was caught off guard by the unconventional, controversial plot twist as well! “I do understand why it’s touched such a nerve with the audience. It touches a nerve with me, too,” he admitted to Soap Opera Digest. “But I also think it’s a really good soap storyline.”
Generally speaking, Mathison pointed out, Drew is a stand-up guy, even if his moral compass is skewed at the moment. “He’s cheating on his nephew, in a way. There are things he’s doing that are not in line with who he is,” the actor said of his character’s flip-flopping between Nina and Willow. “It doesn’t make sense to the audience. But I think we all know that not everybody is perfect all the time.”
Mathison pointed out that while Drew tried to fight his feelings for the two women, he couldn’t help but be drawn to them both. “I think that’s like real life. I think sometimes stuff like this happens,” he mused. “I also think that sometimes these are the greatest love stories ever when it’s the most unexpected and surprising direction.”
“I don’t think he means for the two people he’s being intimate with to be related — it’s not like it was a conscious decision,” the GH star said in defense of his character.
While he understands how viewers might have been taken aback by Drew’s actions, Mathison noted that people doing out-of-character things makes for good daytime drama. As do mothers and daughters sharing a love interest! “It’s not the first time a story like this has been played,” he pointed out.

It is very problematic for the General Hospital writers to have Willow forgive Michael. There hasn't been any acknowledgement that he acted out of the gender role where men are supposed to protect "their" women.
This is an example of how there is no equality in gender roles. Women who have to be protected cannot be active.
When it comes to fiction, the said woman is written in such a way that allows the author to justify her protection. Like how Willow in General Hospital is written to be the forgiving type who puts having father around is more important calling out sexist acts.
Or how Ran and Kazuha in Detective Conan are depicted as being scared very easily and see no problem with doing all the cooking and cleaning so the guys can be active. I will never forget how in volume 59 they were literally like "lets cook dinner while the guys are active in the plot."
Like I said, women who have to be protected cannot be active.

I came to see CW devour as Nina in the thick of the reveal but unfortunately I didn't think the script gave her a lot to work with. I shockingly ended up enjoying Michael and Willow's fight (I know, I KNOW) more than Sonny and Nina's.
While Sonny and Nina's felt like yet another convoluted instance of Nina being told to bend the knee to Carly (pls end this Granny War already) and barely felt like it was about the issues embedded in Sonny and Nina's relationship.
Willow and Michael's fight felt like the first time the power imbalance in their relationship was being recognized in the text. Michael throwing Willow's cancer secret in her face to deflect from his mess? Nasty stuff. Willow pushing back on Michael and calling him out for not respecting her was the first time in years that she sounded like the girl who fought for her freedom from her cult past.
I'm not going to get too excited because this regime is this regime, but if Willow's characterization gets back to being one where she values her sense of agency because she fought so hard to get it, I think that would be really positive for the character.

My two cents:
Part of me understands Willow still being upset with Nina.
Like Nina was awful to her before the whole Wiley stuff started. She was rude and cruel and badgering before Wiley was ever in the equation.
And then the Wiley stuff happened and everything else and it was awful. Yes, Willow and Michael have plenty of fault and Nina has her faults. Im not trying to pretend they didn't.
But from Willow's perspective, Nina's been on her ass for longer than just Wiley. It started when Willow was a teacher.
And Nina talking about how "if she had known, she never would have-" stuff just makes me shake my head. This is probably just my raising, but that isn't an excuse. That's like showing your true colors because there's no filter to sharing your thoughts.
And yes, it goes for Willow too. Willow didn't know Nina as a mom, so she went after her far harder and harsher than she did Harmony. Harmony was fucking awful for the Shiloh shit but because Willow saw/still sees her as her mom/woman who raised her, there's like a nostalgia/familiarity/love that's still there. Why she still can remember fondness in certain memories with Harmony.
But after this revelation: both women are reeling and their worlds are shaking.
I'm not hoping or thinking there will be reconciliation. Willow especially isn't into the thought because in her mind, Nina is still this woman who's harassed her for years.
Both need therapy honestly. Nina to deal with not smothering or trying to insert herself in places and to process how fucked up HER mother was, and Willow to process all this shit Harmony and Carly did and the fact the woman she hates most is her mom.
Maybe in a few years, they'll be close like Bobbie and Carly. Or maybe have a begrudging sort of relationship. Who knows?
I'm just glad they're not doing an immediate "i forgive you for everything" scene. Forgiveness for years of animosity takes time.
Also...
A quick note on the Heather/Hook thing. Please tell me Heather is ONE Hook and not the main one/original. Because Trina was supposed to be Final Girl. Not Josslyn.

So, I am conflicted.  I am 100% my body, my choice.  But the way that they have been writing Willow like a glorified incubator is making me UNCOMFORTABLE!
I mean, like team Nina all day today.  The fact Willow just thought cancer would just magically wait for her, and made no preparations in the meantime for the well-being of the child she already has was selfish.
Wiley being a ball of drama for the win!

You know, I had no idea that Kiki, Willow and Nelle were sisters. That they shared the same father Silas Clay (Michael Easton, who now plays Finn). Funny how Willow never asks who her real father is.

GH thoughts (12/6/23)
The only way the Chase/BLQ wedding only makes sense is that the show runners decided that there should be a wedding every month.
It's not good that they are justifying an old woman's belief that couples living together HAVE to be married, because that is justifying slut-shaming.
I disagree with Alexis that what happened with Anna counts as gun violence. Gun violence is specifically when someone uses a gun with the intent to harm someone else. Unlike most people who do gun violence, Anna does not have a history of relationship or domestic violence.
I think it's likely that there's going to be the problem of Sonny seeing the Molly/TJ baby as his grandchild since they're using Kristina's egg.
I really hope Willow divorces Michael when she finds out he is making decisions behind her back.

There's not a whole lot for me to say about the Michael and Willow situation that I haven't already said the last time I ever gave a damn about Willow. She never recovered from being raised in a cult. She chose Michael because he came with a new cult for her to be ingratiated in.
Of course Michael blackmailing Nina to stay away from Willow is disturbing. What's more disturbing is that when Willow finds out, it's more likely for her to thank Michael for knowing what's best for her instead of being pissed at him.
