24 25 Favourite Screenshots of 2024 (Part Two)

It was so hard to narrow down my favourite shots, I had to do this twice!

Starting off round two, Conrad took a magic subway to Glimmerbrook (1) and got there in time for a perfect sunset, and then (2) he met his first ghosts on Casters Alley! (Well, his second few ghosts, since he'd already met Ben but didn't know Ben was a ghost yet.)

(3) Heather coming home at the perfect time to spot a woman who became a major problem but is finally in handcuffs!!

(4) Heather chats with her family while Ash blows super hard to reach his birthday candles.

(5) Child Ash playing in a pile of autumn leaves in the front yard.

(6) The grey apartment building where Conrad grew up as seen from the above-ground subway track running through San Myshuno's Spice District.

(7) Conrad finds a boxing gym to channel his anger after his mother's death, where he meets a pretty redhead - his first love, Ximena - punching a nearby bag.

(8) Lavender was even adorable as a newborn object. I can't explain it just look.

(9) Posing with Reaper Rewards swag for fun to make Lavender's infant debut on Halloween, and I love this photo so much.

I added the painting of Lady Mimsy in the Garden to the Deadgrass Isle Historical Museum because I want to stare at it until it turns spooky like I read about online.

(10) Conrad takes the stand at John Brindleton's bench trial in front Heather and a room full of deco sims.

(11) Conrad and Heather being so wholesome after she just shouted down George Brindleton for threatening her kids outside the courthouse.

(12) Conrad checking his clue board at work.

(13) Conrad helping Ash with a school project while Heather plays with Gord in the living room. Sweet slice of family life.

(14) Meeting Felix Psyded, Esquire at the Salty Paws Saloon, and Conrad downs a whole pint of cream cola to calm his nerves over all the drama in his life.

(15) Conrad feeding infant Lavender while mending fences with Felix before they resurrected him with ambrosia.

(16) I love this shot of the Goth mansion in Brindleton Bay from outside their front gate. With the snow and the moon it still gives me Gothic vibes even though the house is nothing like their original lot in Willow Creek.

Because I knew the legacy would move to Brindleton Bay in Gen 2, I wanted them living there, so when I added them to the save back when Mortimer and Bella were still married in Gen 1, I gave them the mansion and Bella's lived happily here ever since!

(17) Ghost Conrad smiles as he contemplates possessing the Goths' grand piano after drinking a Spectral Spritzer mixed for him by Bella.

(18) Infant Lavender smiles proudly when she learns to grab her toes.

(19) After finally coming clean about his past, Heather and Conrad talk things out on a bench near her childhood home in Henford-on-Bagley.

(20) The first family photo I ever posed in game and it's so cute, I framed it a bunch of times!

(21) Conrad gets down on one knee to give Heather a ring on Winterfest Eve, after their unceremonious engagement when Heather was in labour with Lavender.

(22) Can't get enough of those cc jammies, or this perfect candid shot of Heather walking in to find her son passed out above the covers, Conrad getting sleepy, and Queen Cupcake curled up and sleeping at his feet.

(23) Infant Lavender in her unicorn onesie getting a nuzzle from Gord while she pets him.

(24) Conrad and Gord meet ghost dog Captain Whitaker on a snowy Deadgrass Isle. I was so happy to find him and get this arc started and then the game updated and made him a living dog before I could resurrect him! (Not to worry, the plan is still in place because the Gallery saves!)

Bonus (25) Picky Lavender gives Conrad the stink eye over a jar of nasty peas.

I've truly had such a blast on simblr since my arrival, loved getting to know so many of you, and I can't wait to see all the screenshots you'll share in 2025! Happy simming!!

30+ Sims4Ever Save File

30+ Sims4Ever is a group of adults aged 30 and up. The group was created back in May at the request of a Redditor. The group has taken off since then with 165 members with the anticipation of more leading up to the drop of our save file.

We are looking to release 4 worlds as early as December 1st and as late as December 31st:

Willow Creek (Heavily inspired by Georgia)

Lore:

The biggest industry left in Willow Creek is tourism, and even that is beginning to fade. Desperate to revitalise the city, the mayor relaxes several local restrictions to allow more fishing, and restart the previously decommissioned riverboats. Meanwhile, he heavily advertises to the movie industry, leading to a surge in movie tourism after a major period drama is filmed there. Overall, the plan works, and Willow Creek begins to distinguish itself as a destination, but the costs are high. The historic downtown area is cleaned up but also gentrified, and many workers can’t afford to live nearby, being pushed to the outskirts of Newcrest. The fishing and riverboats have brought in tourists but also gangs of environmental protesters, angry at the pollution and habitat destruction. But hey, the money has been good, and construction on the mayor’s new estate has finally finished.

Newcrest - 90's Time Capsule (Heavily inspired by Maine)

Lore:

Newcrest has a reputation as a quiet bedroom community. The schools in the area are some of the best in the country for beginning and intermediate education. One such school is Newcrest Charter, a well-funded private school. The reputation is glossy on the outside but there are cracks.  The police chief and Charter administrator have a deal to keep both their kids out of trouble - one with the law and one with their grades.

Mayor Azalea Simmons is oblivious to this scheme, and likely any others in the world. Unlike her surrounding politicians, Azalea doesn’t get wrapped up in legislating mumbo jumbo, she’s too busy keeping Newcrest affordable, and pleasant to live in. Which in her mind means - keeping it 1996 forever.

Magnolia Promenade (Heavily mixed with Georgia & Maine)

Lore:

Many of the buildings in Magnolia Promenade are old. Once historic structures like schools, warehouses, and homes, many have been converted into businesses. Maerina Walsh owns one such business in the prestigious shopping district - a quaint bed and breakfast. She has a reputation as an absolute nightmare of a boss. It's said to be lucky if she fires you on the first day, as she punishes others with impossible or gruelingly menial tasks. There is a longstanding rumor among locals that the ghost of an employee she once locked in the basement now haunts the establishment, though older residents say the ghost dates back to the original building. Maerina is well aware of the rumors but hasn’t disputed them, because as many people as they scare off, they also attract potential customers looking to catch a sight of the ghost.

San Sequoia (Heavily inspired by San Francisco)

Lore:

Ricky Pyler has grown San Sequoia into a major contender in the pharmaceutical and medical fields. Many large companies, production facilities, and conventions have relocated to the city, bringing a boom to the economy. Pharmaceutical companies have manipulated development deals, health information, and begun to illegally dump their waste in the river that runs downstream to Willow Creek. Zara Marquez, has been a nurse in San Sequoia for decades. She’s noticed an uptick in certain illnesses that are symptoms of this pollution which has brought her to run for Mayor herself. Another campaign opponent comes onto the scene in the form of Caleb Vargas - a rather young man from the business sector. Nobody really knows who he is, but he is extremely and strangely well funded. In reality he’s starting to bribe and bankroll many of Ricky’s old contacts with the intention of using them for his own devices

Important to note:

As we move closer to the deadline for the release of the save file a release of which simmers worked on which lot will be released

A list of all expansions, game, stuff and kit packs will be released advising what was used for the save file. There are no pack restrictions for contributors

All townies will have base game outfits so that no single townie is walking around partially naked

All townies have been assigned careers, children have grades and everyone has a relationship with their current houehold and others

Ghosts will be available in game

Townies will be added to clubs

Newcrest is a 90's time capsule

All lots that have additional structures were built in mind that if the structure differed from the lot type it would not impact the overall gameplay. (this means that a lot set as a Resturant with a resturant and movie theatre does not impact the overall function of the lot)

All lots have been game play tested

There will be a tool mod version of this game

Any simmers who are not comfortable downloading a tray file or those playing on console will be able to follow a legend to download from the gallery to upload lots and families

What to Expect in the coming months:

As we move closer to deadlines we will have more members submit. From the time members submit the lot is play tested by a second person to ensure that everything functions correctly and the lot has met minimum requirements. Once that is completed we have the file upload to the save.

Hi! Unfortunately, I have no clue when Silent Pines will be ready. I'm hoping sometime in the next few months, as I'm starting college again next week. My course is rather intensive since I study science, but I'm hoping to relieve stress by building in Silent Pines steadily!

Here's the map of Silent Pines (Willow Creek) so far. It's coming along, but I definitely need to finish the shopping district at the bottom. Plus the gaping empty park in the middle, lol.

Been building up Willow Creek, and why am I just now realizing it has 5 districts, and yes one is community lots only, but that's still four for residential ???

There's also Newcrest, Magnolia Promenade and the two career locations that also match its aesthetic.

Today's (2/6/2025) Episode: Thinking About Tomorrow

“Are you sure you feel up to going out tonight?” Noemi asked Skye at lunch the day of xir prom date with Elyse.

“I’m fine mom” Skye said, rolling xir eyes.

“All right,” she said reluctantly “you can’t blame a mother for worrying. You just had emergency surgery. I just don’t want you to overdo it.”

“I’ll be careful” xe replied, softening. Xir mom was right that xe was still feeling rough, but xe wasn’t about to let xir girl down.

“This place had stellar reviews online, I can’t wait to try it!” Skye gushed after the waitress took their order at their pre-prom dinner date. “So, Elyse, how are your university applications going? Mom and dad are excited about Foxbury, but I like Britechester’s culinary and fine arts programs better.”

Elyse frowned as she was suddenly faced with a conversation she’d been dreading.

She’d been letting Skye believe what xe wanted but she couldn’t outright lie to xem. “Skye… about that” she began “I don’t think I’d get accepted into Britechester. My grades were never good like yours. Honestly, …”

Xe cut her off before she could finish “Well that’s OK, we can both just get standard degrees at Foxbury. My parents will be thrilled I’m going to their Alma Mater, and your painting skill is sure to get you accepted there even if your grades aren’t great.”

Elyse ducked her head, a lump forming in her throat “No, Skye” she said quietly “I don’t want to go to Foxbury either. I don’t like school; I’m ready to be done with it. I want to find a place of my own, get a job supporting myself with my art, start living my life!”

“University just delays everything, and for what?” she continued, her eyes stinging as she tried to stay calm. “I’d like to have kids before I’m an old sim with forehead wrinkles and bags under my eyes. Without a degree it takes a little longer to level up in your chosen career, but who cares!?”

Seeing the look on Skye’s face at her admission she quickly added “Of course, you can go to college if that’s what you want, we’ll figure it out.”

Skye had been preparing to argue with Elyse about tying to “force” xem to skip out on University with her, but xe relaxed at her words.

“Right” xe finally said “I can do what I want… and I guess you can to. I just thought we’d be like my mom and dad, but without all the trouble they went through. If I’m in Britechester and you’re somewhere else establishing yourself in your art career…”

“I was thinking I’d rent a place in the Art District, really immerse myself in the scene” she nodded “Were you planning to live on campus?”

Skye returned her nod with one of xir own “My folks didn’t live on campus long, but they said it’s the best way to get started for your first semester.”

Just then the waitress arrived, and they turned their attention to the exotic dishes in front of them.

“Oh, I’ve got to get a picture of this!” Skye exclaimed, completely missing the look of disgust on Elyse’s face as xe pulled out xir phone and focused on getting the shot just right. “It looks amazing, right hon?”

Elyse poked her fork at the meal uncertainly, before complaining: “Its so… WEIRD! We came here for dinner, not whatever this even is.”

Skye, already savoring xir first bites, looked back across the table guiltily.  “Sorry, I guess this sort experimental cuisine isn’t for everyone.”

“Its OK, its not your fault.” she soothed “Anyway, I can eat at school. Unlike SOME sims “ she smirked pointedly at xem across the table “I’m perfectly happy with plain old “normal” food.”

Skye shrugged, cleaning xir plate happily. “A chip off the old block my dad likes to say.”

As soon as xir fork hit the table, Elyse bounced up and grabbed her date’s hand. “Come on, let’s get out of here, the dance is starting soon.” She dragged xem to the front to settle their bill and head onwards to their next destination of the evening.

Don’t worry, this was a chaperoned date 🙃… the restaurant is in Willow Creek; Noemi and Luigi dropped the teens off and then enjoyed a little fun in the park nearby while they ate.

Prom of course counts as a group date  - can’t trust these two on their own 😬

If Maxis ever updates "Get to work" (maybe only aliens, but let's dream about normal business town with 12-14 lots), it would be nice to see the Curios family, where Pascal is talking about this.

Or today we can settle their family in Willow Creek, where Magnolia is essentially shopping district. Or Oasis Springs where the secret laboratory is located and sims is trying to find aliens.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME.. like.. having pascal's version of his relationship w Nervous/Nyon and why he "ghosted" him 🥲also that ep really needs a refresh, it deserves it hsdjhhjhdfj it has a lot of potential, it's sad that the devs didn't know how to take advange of that

I have a feeling that if they wanted to include Pascal in some next ep, they would do it in one that does not correlate to the essence of Pascal (although if it were to happen, I wouldn't complain hehehehehehe i need fresh content of that guy)
