Will Noon is one of my favorite drummers bc you’ll catch him on an emo or pop album playing for his life when absolutely no song on the lp calls for that kind of carrying on.
This band was so unserious bc they really did what they wanted in this album—and it only worked 50% of the time. Almost every song in the album started weak but finished strong. It was so odd but through each one you have this ramping up from Will. He even gets a drum break track in this album. Why????? And on this track “How Do I Fix My Head” he just goes on ahead and turns it in to a Mars Volta song at the end. It’s so incongruous but I don’t even care because I enjoy him.
