I was wondering if having multiple seasons has allowed you to write at slower pace and go more in-depth with plots and characters.

Can you use tropes to describe lis route

Hmm, I've sat here and tried, but I don't think I can.

There are tropy elements in all the love interests' routes, but to box them in too much would be a shame.

Lauritzen has a bit of forced proximity, break down his defences about him.

Safaa is a bit friends to lovers, a bit forbidden love.

Yasin is very much 'you can count on me'.

Alba..... well, she's Alba.

I played out of curiosity, then restarted the chapter 'cause I didn't want to disappoint Yasin my love... but fell right back into the trap and picked the steamy scene with Anders again!!

Hi Faye! Just wanted to pop in and say that I've been enjoying The Missing a lot so far! And idk if this will make sense but I really like how you write dialogue between the characters, when I'm reading it I just get the sense that ''yeah this is definitely the way a real life person would talk''. It makes the characters feel much more real and human.

That makes a lot of sense! That's what I aim for. I read it outloud to myself again and again while writing. Sometimes I read it after the update and I still question if people actually speak like that. It's not always easy to strike the right balance between written and spoken conversation.

I once read a writing tip that was something like 'write as you speak, but not as you really speak'. In real life conversation, we make a lot of pauses, a lot of well, hmm, ehm, which is annoying to read in prose, but also conveys mood and state of mind. I think about that a lot.
