One more word, light!
Tumblr media
Sometimes, I see a word and I know I'm screwed. This was definitely one of them.
Sometimes! The words are just something I decided to drag into a theme! Okay!
Wait! This is including words like "flight!" Maybe I'm saved! (No)
Tumblr media
SIGH.
On the plus side, in addition to my five paragraphs I found a "dimly light" that has somehow persisted from draft two in here to fix.
The bottom of the chasm was lit with strange wickless candles in carved stone sconces on the walls that gave off a flickering, greenish light.
Several of my options also had "music" in them, which leads me to wonder how obvious good hits are from the other sentences I've shared.

no wick = not a candle. however wax melts exist (i count wickless candles in this same category as you must put them on or in a heat source to use them) and are used the same way scented candles are for their perfume and not to actually light a space up. so you're in another territory and no longer fcking a candle
no, no, no, we can't just be fucking wax dildos here. i'm changing my proposal to a steel rod wrapped with a wick, so well it probably wouldn't be a functional candle, it'd still be a candle. we can't lose sight of the goal, even on technicalities.

She tried to mold herself into the shape that people decide for her, until her wick is completely depleted and she's left as a wickless candle in the drawer, futile.

Our shop is back open now (after almost a year of being on hiatus)! There's a whole explanation over there about what's been going on with us (spoiler alert: it's nothing good :P) but we figured with a shop that's staying in one heckin' place, we'd reintroduce you to all of the scents in our lineup! :D
This is Wanna Hear a Joke? and besides being the first non-vg inspired candle, it’s also the first candle inspired by a pairing! It’s one of our favorite pairings -- Jacen Solo & Tenel Ka Djo from the Star Wars: Expanded Universe (the old books and such -- now called Legends) -- and was originally just us messing around with scents and stuff. But we liked it so much we wanted to include it in this first batch!
This candle is an 8oz. glass jelly jar with a pewter daisy cut lid and has a cotton/paper wick. All of our candles are made with 100% natural soy wax, are handmade and are poured in very small batches. You can find Wanna Hear a Joke? and others over at Waxing Sky Studios!
You can also get wax melts of all of our scents as well (aroma beads and wickless candles are also on the horizon!) in case you are in a place where you can't burn candles but still want a scent!

If you want to make candles like that, make them wickless. The ones that you heat from the bottom. Safer!
Rant on fire safety
Tumblr media
While absolutely gorgeous, I HATE this trend of "aesthetic candles". This is from a local witch shop, that sells these candles. Look at it! It's an absolute fire hazard. A plastic flower molten into the wax. You should not have plastic anywhere near a candle flame. Look at the glitter. Guess what? ALSO PLASTIC.
At best it's gonna smell horrendous, because molten plastic stinks. But burn enough of these candles and you're likely to give yourself cancer. Yes, you read that right. Do no inhale fumes of molten plastic!
Stop making candles with materials that shouldn't be burnt! ffs

Hello Everyone and Welcome back to my blog! If you're new here, I'm Danielle and this is my blog where I'll be sharing tips and tricks all about candle making. I also share my journey with my candle company. And maybe help you with yours. The first thing you need to know is the type of candle you would like to make. In this blog, I'll be talking about 5 different types of candles.
5 Types Of Candles
Pillar
The first candle I'll be talking about is the pillar candle. A pillar candle is made from rigid wax like paraffin wax so it doesn't need a container to stand up straight. These candles are stand-alone and collapse into themselves. They can be thin or thick, short or tall. With the paraffin wax, they are very easy to dye as well.
Votive
The second candle is the votive candle. They are pretty similar to the pillar candles but they are different in size and the type of wax that is used. The votive candle is small and typically made from beeswax allowing the candle to be able to stand up on its own but you can also place it in a container.
Container
Now to my favorite candle, the container candle. For this candle, you will need a non-flammable container to hold the hot melted wax. You really can use any container you would like. You'll just have to find the fill line to determine how much wax you'll need but that is a different article.
Tealight
The last candle will be the tealight candle. This candle is very popular for weddings and special events. The tealight candles are made in a thin metal or plastic cup so the wax will completely melt. They are very small circular and not very tall.
All these candles I've named need a wick. There are different wicks for each candle. You'll need to do more research after you know which candle you will want to make.
Melts
There is one more "candle" I wanted to talk about but it is not a candle with a wick. That would be wax melts. Wax melts or tarts are wickless scented pieces of wax that require a warmer to melt the wax to smell the aroma. These have become very popular over the last for years.
How Do You Choose
I decided to make some of those candles just to see which one I would like the most. When I started, I made container candles, along with votives, tealights, and wax melts.
I would say make all of the candles and see which one you like. You don't know until you try. I recommend starting with candle kits. They are affordable and that is how I got all my supplies for my company. I purchased my first kit from Michael's and my second kit from Hobby Lobby. There were so many different options in the store. I soon found some other kits on Amazon which came pretty quickly. I suggested going to your local craft store first before online thought to avoid any shipping fees.
Well, I hope this helped you out a little in making your decision on what type of candle you want to make. Leave a comment about which type of candle you decided to make. Check out the website for healing aromas.

DIY Wickless Candle Business: How to Get Started
Tumblr media
Wickless candles offer a unique way to enjoy candles without the risks associated with an open flame. Instead of using a wick to draw in oxygen and produce smoke, these candles utilize a liquid fuel that is melted and vaporized by a heat source. This process allows for a cleaner and safer candle experience. What are Wickless Candles? Wickless candles, also known as melt and pour candles, are made from a liquid fuel, such as soy wax or paraffin. These fuels can be melted and poured into a container, where they cool and solidify into a solid form. As the melted fuel evaporates, it creates a beautiful, scented ambiance. Advantages of Wickless Candles Wickless candles have several advantages over traditional candles: 1. Safety: Wickless candles pose a lesser fire hazard as there is no open flame. This makes them safer for homes with children, pets, or individuals who may be prone to accidents. 2. Clean Burning: Wickless candles do not produce soot or smoke, making them a cleaner alternative to traditional candles. This makes them ideal for individuals with respiratory sensitivities or allergies. 3. Easy to Make: Wickless candles are easy to make at home, making them an attractive option for DIY enthusiasts. With a little creativity and patience, you can create unique and beautiful candles that reflect your brand.

Photo by Joshua Rodriguez Choosing the Right Fuel for Your Wickless Candles When selecting the fuel for your wickless candles, you have two main options: soy wax and paraffin wax. Both types of wax have their own set of advantages: - Soy Wax: Soy wax is a renewable resource, making it an eco-friendly choice. It is also biodegradable and cleaner burning compared to paraffin wax. However, soy wax may require more blending with other oils to achieve the desired fragrance. - Parafin Wax: Parafin wax is a petroleum-based wax that provides a good balance of fragrance throw, burn time, and affordability. It is commonly used for candles due to its stability and ease of melting. Packaging and Branding When selling wickless candles, it is important to consider packaging and branding. Here are a few tips to keep in mind: - Presentation: Choose attractive packaging that reflects your brand's image. Consider using high-quality containers, such as glass jars or ceramic pots, to enhance the beauty of your candles. - Labeling: Include relevant information on the candle's ingredients, scent, and burn time. Use visually appealing and easy-to-read labels to make a lasting impression on your customers. - Customization: Offer customization options such as personalized labels or scents to create a lasting impression on your customers. Conclusion Wickless candles offer a unique and safe alternative to traditional candles. With their clean burning, easy to make nature, and customization options, they are an ideal addition to any DIY business. Whether you choose soy wax or paraffin wax, make sure to carefully select your preferred fuel and create captivating packaging to showcase your creations. Read the full article
