Astro notes : Short N' Sweet - Uranian Love
Uranus in the 1st - They have a heart of compassion, they hold a tight grip on it for the most part. Have a very striking presence, and usually have others jaw dropping from time to time. Some very special creatures and they will show you a new perspective on things if you let them in.
Uranus in the 2nd - Magical opportunities await them. They have universal knowledge that carries that to newer astrological thinking. They could use this to their benefit or they can shapeshift the world in a super master manipulative way but its totally up to them.
Uranus in the 3rd - Beautiful speakers. Ferocious thinkers. capable of anything really. They have tons of talents that are pretty unique and it captivates people from time to time. Like how do you draw so fast? how does your voice sound like that? So many different worlds in that mind of theirs, are you gonna pick their brain to know whats up with em?
Uranus in the 4th - Awe inspiring wonders that live in the mind of these creatures. Very delicate and choose their words wisely with people, at home they're notorious for speaking the truth even if it hurt a lil. Nobody likes them at school, so at home they treat themselves to something special to throw that energy back into the air. Could have a war inside their mind or in the privacy of their own home but you wouldn't know. They carry their problems well.
Uranus in the 5th - Talented beings whose sole purpose is to be better than the next, and to stand out from the crowd with their wicked humor, their amazing appeal to the audience, and their generous energy being the token of something lighting the way for people to be shocked, amazed and full of emotions that will have you pulsing. Very needy individuals though, but you'll love em for it. It's not easy to get for everyone.
Uranus in the 6th - They love the outdoors and need alone time to process their emotions here. Have the ability to see thru the minds of others. Their analytically skills are through the roof here. Are capable of leadership roles and teaching others tricks when it comes to different hobbies. Like for example, they could teach you how to paint but in a different way than what is the usual.
Uranus in the 7th - Orthodox beliefs can bring in a pretty interesting love life. The desire to be noticed for their radical personalities can be brought to them by a very interesting partner who matches their vibe. They need something or someone that is going to awaken their minds not just their heart. Usually intimidating upon first meeting but their super chill right after.
Uranus in the 8th - Taboo realities. They can ignite a fire in you with just their touch. Mystical vision. Have tendencies to come off a bit off the rockers, but they normally are right about the things they know. Can hold on to your secrets, and i mean the things that you KNOW will shock someone. Power mind readers.
Uranus in the 9th - Have a deep bond with the universe. Can penetrate the thoughts of others in more ways than one. Have issues with silencing themselves because not everyone wants to know what they do not understand. Have issues with learning things on their own but are too stubborn to let people help them. Very intricate minds that see things in a peculiar light.
Uranus in the 10th - Amazing leaders. They are made to be known as something unique and different and ahead of their time. Could come out in the spotlight in a shocking way, but this normally leads to their benefit. The quicker it comes, the quicker you must be on your feet and keep the momentum to a level of your liking.
Uranus in the 11th - The community loves them. Social media could be a walk in the park for them, making it their playground. Def needs to open up a lil, the more they do the better they are with people and the more popular they can be too. Can hold their own in the group, deep bonds with their friends. Very practical. Can pick up on vibes easily with others.
Uranus in the 12th - Needs to escape the mind more than usual. This is pretty interesting because the mind really is suppose to be your escape, but in this reality the mind needs a place to relax. You can go bonkers just sitting in your room all day, or just doing the same thing over and over. Gotta get up and face that hurricane and use the magic within to make something out of it. Something beautiful comes out along the way. Could be known as the crazy one, but what they say tends to have truth to it. Def be knowin' what they're talking about, you just have to listen more clearly. ;)

This is something I thought of suddenly: So when the Actors-on-Actors roster came out, I didn’t have that much of a problem with Taylor being paired up with Joey King. It was kinda odd to have two close friends who are now doing very different projects put together, but they were happy and watching Joey King fangirl over RWRB was fun.
But now that I think of it, it was such a missed opportunity not to put Taylor with Jonathan Bailey.
(Gonna preface this by saying I know far less about Mr Bailey than Tay, I skimmed through Fellow Travelers, Bridgerton S2 is on my to-watch list, and as a fan of Wicked the Musical I have complicated feelings about the movie adaptation)
The thing that is so often brought up with RWRB is that it’s a queer rom-com, it’s a queer love story with a happy ending. The relationship itself does not need to be sacrificed. In fact the whole Kensington confrontation is proving exactly that: they are in a position and point in time where they don’t have to give up on their love and relationship for the sake of other aspects of their lives, they can “find a way to love each other on our own terms, no one else’s”. Many people, including the core four of the movie (Matthew, Casey, Taylor, Nick) have said that this is something that made this movie stand out from other queer productions, something that the world needs.
Fellow Travellers is almost the exact opposite: it is exactly about the periodic queer struggles. It is about the lavender scare when any queer members of the US government were deemed national security risks, and were subsequently dismissed from their stations. It is about the AIDS epidemic that led to the devastation and discrimination of queer communities. It is about a closeted man who chooses to submit himself to a lavender marriage, but who also can’t let go of his one true love. If RWRB is the idealistic future that we’re trying to build, then fellow travellers depict the dirty, gritting, tragic reality of the past.
And here’s the thing, as Matthew said, both types of queer stories are important, both kinds of queer stories need to be told. We need to acknowledge the bad parts of the past, as a reflection of society, as a reminder of history and the progress made, but we also need to imagine the wonders of a better future, as a target for society, as a vision for the progress to make.
And it would have been so interesting to hear the conversation on this contrast between the main leads of two very different queer projects.
Additionally, another thing they can compare is queer intimacy on screen, because again, the intimacy of the two projects are vastly different: RWRB made a deliberate point in creating a more gentle, vulnerable, and quiet intimacy in the Paris scene, with the focus being on the characters’ face; Fellow Travellers’ intimacy is far more explicit and wild, much sexier if you will. Again, both have their place in media and the queer community: sex can be wild and fun, but sex can also be sacred and soft. It would be really interesting to hear the similarities and differences between the two experiences, especially since Taylor has done more explicit stuff in Minx (in a heterosexual on-screen couple) and Jonathan has done more vulnerable intimacy in Bridgerton (also in a heterosexual on-screen couple)
There are just so many parallels and points that the two could have talked about! So although I’m still fairly okay satisfied with the Taylor Actors on Actors we got, this is such a missed opportunity to talk about the importance of different types of stories in the queer community.

Wanted to share a little something for my fellow Tevan stans currently fed up with the rising flood of BoB toxicity on 911 abc's socials.
We can all see that post the release of the Tommy x Henren scene, the BoBs have gone totally rabid. Until the Tevan pride post, we were still managing to dominate the comments section with our positivity. But now all hell has broken loose.
I mean, it's upsetting and annoying to see but not shocking. They whined so much about the nonsensical karaoke scene which they never got to see, but the show released the bonus scene with Tommy right before the new season's production begins (and the writing has started weeks ago.) It's such a huge slap on their faces and somewhere in the back of their minds they know B*ddie is never happening, but they pretend to be in denial and now their strategy is to make sure that we Tevan stans don't get to gush over our canon ship without having to counter their nastiness. All because their fanon ship dreams are dying a painful death.
Do the BoBs and the B*ddies outnumber Bucktommies? On social media at least they do, we have to admit this. But I still hope that the writers don't indulge this bullying and harassment just because that fandom is a loud majority on socials. Their controversial opinions and insensible demands cannot be a deciding factor for shaping future storylines. There are many people who appreciate Buck and Tommy's storyline and feel represented by it, despite the little screen-time they've gotten. We cherish all the tiny crumbs we get and make the most out of it without threatening and harassing anyone for what we don't get. We daydream and make our headcanons but we don't tell the writers how to do their jobs. And that's the reason why we were blessed with the deleted Tommy-Henren clip.
Ultimately, the showrunner is answerable to the network studio mainly for the show's viewership and ratings, not the hue and cry about whether certain fandoms are enjoying the current storylines or not. And with the way these BoBs are getting crazier with their delusions, they will never stop watching the show even 50 seasons later with their eternal hopes for B*ddie going canon, so I believe viewership is never going to be an issue for Tim and ABC.
So I am pretty positive that as long as Tim is personally keen on developing Buck and Tommy's love story (and the network is supportive), irrespective of the BoBs' frustration and their vile flood of hate for Tommy and Tevan, he will continue writing as his creative vision sees fit. We shouldn't lose faith just because the haters have stepped up their game and are going above and beyond to make us lose it. We just have to stop engaging with them completely. The block button is the greatest boon — it's so much more satisfying to do it than bickering with the haters. Just continue spreading your love for Tommy and Buck, even if we seem a minority. Little drops make an ocean after all.
Not to forget, the timing of the Tommy and Henren clip being released is so important. They could have shared it with us during Pride but they didn't. They did it now. Which means that Tommy is definitely an important part of the storylines for season 8 even if it's in a supporting capacity. ABC wouldn't have released the clip so close to the premiere date announcement if Tommy was not returning. Tim Minear wouldn't be telling fans how old Tommy is and other stuff if he had no plans to write more for that character. So we have to ignore all the mad theories, gross misinterpretations, and wicked hopes of the BoBs and trust that better things are coming! 🙏🏽

Hi! Since I'm putting together a playlist for Nigel and Alex, I was wondering
What are some songs that you think are really good fits for them/their story?
I have a couple Like Minds playlists assembled using my own vision of the characters. The first is my take on LM canon (meaning sliiiightly divergent from it) and which is a complete list in the old school mix CD/tape style, meant to be listened to in order from start to finish as a complete story.
The second is a much longer and more random list that I am always adding to, and which is meant to be "what if they both live" vibes. Some of the songs are meant more specifically as POV or about Nigel or Alex, but most of them are the dynamic between them. Some of these tracks are heavily influenced by the He Stings Like He Means It fic by @gali-in-distress, including the song from which the title was pulled as the first track, and also with songs from which chapter titles were pulled. I am always adding more as I find relevant music for them.
The entire first playlist are songs that fit them well, imo. If I had to pick specific songs from it, I'd have to go with Salvation by Scanners or Monster by Meg Myers.
The big AU list has so, so many tracks that it's really hard to pick just a few. Honey, Young God, Ya'aburnee and multiple other tracks by Halsey are all good. Arsonist's Lullabye IS Alex's theme song as far as I'm concerned. Beautiful Crime by Tamer, Become the Beast by Karliene, Animal covered by Chase Holfelder, Wicked Game covered by Ursine Vulpine, Strangelove covered by Black Math, Tiny Gods by Shayfer James, Bang by Armchair Cynics, Exit Music by Radiohead, I Come With Knives by IAMX, THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND by Bad Omens, I LUV U by Mia Rodriguez, Time is Running Out by Muse, the list goes on and on.
Everyone is going to have their own take on Alex and Nigel and their dynamic as a couple, and music taste is so personal that I recommend just going through the various Like Minds lists on Spotify to see what presses your buttons. To find even more music, I also recommend listening to Hannibal/murder husband playlists and maybe also Killing Eve, Death Note/Lawlight, Killing Stalking, and similar media themed playlists because they tend to have a similar vibe.
Hope that helps!

BFCD Reviews by Nesha: Wicked Part One.
This is mostly commentary about my relationship with this body of work and not a run down of the production of the current iteration.
I think the idea that if you've loved Wicked for a long time that the new movie subtracts something from it is probably only a problem in the event that the only piece of Oz lore you've loved is the Broadway play.
I didn't have the means to see Wicked when it was initially a show and social media was not yet a daily part of lifestyle. I was EXCITED for a new take on things whenever the story came about, especially as a lover of dark fairy tales (and if you know me outside), the Wicked Witch herself, as an archetype.
I grew up on most frequently enjoying The Wiz on holidays, as a Black child, and The Wizard of Oz when it aired, as an American tradition. I read two Oz books in school, as a little bookworm, and rented Return to Oz from the public library a couple of times before it vanished and didn't get reoredered there. These stories my child's brain registered as "horror," and "horror" was of my favorite genres.
I lived for horror, fantasy, and sci fi. The lore of Oz gave me these. I enjoyed some musicals as a kid too, but Wicked, as a play, really did so many things for me as a strange, different, underappreciated teenager who loved all of the things that went into creating this enduring vision of Oz.
Revisiting the books later and seeing the author biase in the ways the stories were told made it an even more rewarding universe to expand with later voices and interpretations. Seeing a Blacker version in The Wiz, most frequently as a young person, then FINALLY, eventually seeing bits and pieces of the Broadway version and experiencing the book, and being able to interact with the media of Oz in a more evolved way as someone more in tune with politics, and by that time a theater loving kid with very limited access to stage theater.
Seeing Wicked the first time as a young adult, on video in full form, but not being able to even get the full experience, and STILL crying deeply from the storytelling and performances and the growth of Oz was an extremely important part of my life after years of consuming multiple versions of Oz and several horror, monstrous, *wicked* versions of a which who was a compelling villain for decades and also a compelling heroine. Depending on the times and who gets to tell the stories...
This new iteration of the chronicles of The Wicked Witch of the West, and these new contributions to the majesty of the Universe of Oz affected me VERY deeply as a lover and consumer of the Wicked musical. This movie didn't cheapen a thing for me, because I was always grateful for another look at a tale so old but so present. I always see a new portion as a pocket of the Oz universe that somebody else gets to make a part of their life like I did when I didn't have access to consuming a Broadway play like the internet and social media has given now.
And every Black Oz fangirl who has collected her portions for the mental patchwork of the Evolution of Oz now have grandiose nature of the magic that technicolor gave audiences that didn't include representation, and the heroine that The Wiz gave without the underbelly of the urban crime twist.
We have Elphaba on screen in all her social justice glory. We have AMAZING theater performers... Ariana Grande being a LONG TIME Wicked fan and being able to bring her love and her art together because she's had the commercial success to become a big star was touching to me. Cynthia Erivo, a woman I will never enjoy outside of her work, brought her skilled theater experience and her star factor performance to a role that has been here for the misfits for decades. Jonathan, an amazing theater guy who I was excited to see from the moment they announced it...
Like... if you love the theater aspect they gave it to you with the most important players AND they gave the girlies who will never see a Broadway stage visuals above and beyond.
I saw a little girl at the theater who had a fine time, but me:
The 43 year old woman with just as long of a relationship with Oz in a dozen different ways/ The Black woman who drove 4½ hours to watch The Wiz Live on TV with her siblings because we grew up on the movie and this was going to feature so many things I loved and wanted to experience with them despite living cities away; and drove even longer in holiday traffic to bring her youngest sibling (who she introduced to the original play as a little kid when she herself was a young adult), to see THIS movie in theaters as two now grown women who have loved Wicked, specifically since the olden days and bonded through musicals despite our age gap because I loved theater so much she picked it up and ran all the way through college involved in it. The lady whose ex took her to finally see Wicked, live, when they lived in Connecticut because she knew that she could afford it and I may have never seen it onstage with my own eyes, crying the entire experience, without meeting this person who granted me that...
For me, living my life with the Oz I knew, loved, sought out, watched transform, hated some, but still partook, and to lead to a box office production with both talent and grandeur... I was the young person filled with wonder, crying and breathing hard and being filled up with appreciation and gratitude that I get to be alive to see this portion of the Land of Oz.
The movie didn't let me down at all. Not one version of the me who has followed the yellow brick road since infancy. It gave me more.

a Chara (and a Kris) without a country
So far as I know...I do not have an AU. At least, I do not feel that I do.
Indeed I have a difficult time remembering how I landed here, on what seems to be Earth or Tellus (the third planet of Sol, to be clear) in our year of the Common Era 2024. My first clear memories of feeling as though I had gained some sort of life again through my host was late 2016 or early 2017, during a period of extreme personal turbulence. That was the interval of time during which our system experienced (among other things) the intensely painful breakup of an intensely passionate sexual relationship, our main partner undergoing GRS, the 2016 electoral disaster, and our awakening during a relatively short span of months to being plural, trans, otherkin, starting to have regular spiritual experiences of gods and other supernatural and numinous things, and hosting fictive introjects. (*Chuckles*) It was a busy time! I'm glad that I really can look back and laugh at it, a little.
Paradoxically, one of the things that my arrival and establishing myself in the Pnictogen Wing was that our engagement with the Undertale fandom dried up. (cont'd)
We'd played Undertale for the first time in approx. April 2016 and were bowled over, and even started trying to write fanfic, which was not usual for us. Some of that stuff is still on AO3; we haven't really wanted to go back to it. I mean, we have, but we haven't. The whole subject became, rather abruptly, far too painful and personal for us to touch—my fault, I suppose. I wanted to remember, and sometimes I seemed to have extremely vivid flashes of the Underground, especially of Waterfall which was my favorite place in the Underground by far when wandering around. I liked the dark, the phosphorescent rock formations, the relative abundance of flora and fauna, the mists and the ever-changing "microclimate" of Waterfall, and the sounds of running water. But the visions faded. Learning how to live with other human beings and navigate the cruel and wicked world of the 2024 United States took extreme precedence.
Our RL age at the time we first suspected our plurality was over forty! I find myself thinking of Morpheus in The Matrix talking about how releasing someone from the Matrix when they're too old is problematical; the mind has difficulty adjusting. I feel like we just barely managed to keep ourselves from completely losing control and even as it was we were pretty unhinged sometimes. We have been fortunate to have forgiving partners here, a solidly established household, and an unusually broad and eclectic education. It's enabled us to rationalize ourselves, bit by bit, approaching our own strangeness in a dispassionate and analytical way, like scientists or scholars.
Hence we now find ourselves several years onward, having tamed our worst personal problems, feeling much steadier than we ever were in 2016 and the years and crises that immediately followed (including the decline and death of my RL father, the last surviving member of my RL family), and also having a much clearer notion of how our plural system, the Pnictogen Wing, is structured. For a while it seemed like we'd never stop discovering new introjects, some of them popping up from long ago. We had no idea just how badly we were dissociating and going off into fugue states when we were growing up. It was just "being absent minded" and having unusually vivid and troublesome daydreams and so forth. And we were consuming ridiculous quantities of media, too! Hence we've got folks in the Pnictogen Wing from all over.
But beyond doubt, the Undertale / Deltarune multiverse is our chief home. Our human host, Kris, isn't just a person living in a house in Seattle with their polycule—they're a Deltarune fictive who's had (rare but extremely powerful) flashbacks to Hometown, and who regards Hometown as the reference point for themselves. Their memories here on Earth only go back to about 2013-14, which I note is before the release of both UT and DR. How THAT came about I'd love to know; it suggests an isekai type situation and we've had inklings about how that happened (ironically we've never watched an isekai show and only know the genre by reputation) but until now the mystery has not been a high priority.
So...where are we all from, exactly? There's more UT and DR fictives who've landed in the Pnictogen Wing besides Kris and myself, but many have disappeared into the system somewhere. I suspect there's a lot of unsettled tensions among the lot of us. Other introjects seemed to fade and disappear from the system over time, which I take as a sign of conflict or hostility. I've had some ugly speculations in the past that I don't know whether to believe or not, such as the idea that Toriel had tried to mᴜrder me at some point (thus precipitating my desire for escape of some sort). In any case, no flashback we've had seems to point towards any definite AU...and I feel very strongly as if I am not supposed to make an arbitrary choice.
That's been such a powerful guiding principle for me that I wonder why I feel it. I've actually felt a bit baffled by other fictives I've met who seem to feel a freedom to vary from canon that I myself do NOT feel. Indeed I've painstakingly combed the game's text over and over trying to familiarize myself with its constraints. If I don't exactly know who I am, then at least I can work within what I'm not. The difficulty is that Undertale is so elliptically written (that is to say, it's very sparse in its details, with huge gaps in knowledge), especially when it comes to the character of Chara, that one can derive remarkably little from canon.
It's occurred to me, for example, that we don't even know if the Monsters' account of the War of Humans and Monsters is even correct. Historical records on Earth are fragmentary and uncertain and susceptible to being distorted by political bias and myth-making. Why therefore can one assume that the Monsters are remembering the War correctly?
(*sighs*) I've been trying to live with as much doubt as I can stand, but I suppose that's getting to be dissatisfying. Why the heck am I here in the first place? I can still remember how excited I was, back in fall of 2019 when I was first able to "front" completely. I remember walking around the streets of my Seattle neighborhood feeling unbelievably exhilarated. "Oh my gosh I'm walking around a CITY and I'm buying FAST FOOD and I have no idea what I'm doing!! but it's great!!!" That wouldn't last, of course. Now I feel almost ordinary sometimes. Except I'm not really. Kris isn't ordinary either. Why are we here? Is there some purpose that we've forgotten?
And where are we from? Do we even have an "Alternate Universe" to ourselves? That seems implicit somehow—that is to say, I have my own sense of identity as Chara, Kris has their own sense of identity as Kris, and we are distinct from other Charas and Krises we have met. We must therefore have some distinct "timeline" that sets us apart from other fictives. Yet I feel peculiarly as if I need to reason my way there, not simply...make things up. Should I even trust that feeling?
I feel like I'm going in circles. I'm at a loss.

Abandoned Changing Rooms Part 3
Media - House of Anubis Character - Jerome Clarke Couple - Jerome X Reader Reader - y/n Rating - 18 + cockwarming/ secret / orgasms/ raw sex/ biting Word Count - 1256
The teacher put some educational movie on and left to do some marking in another room, the class mostly just watched silently without much of a care.
Leaving Jerome a little desperate unable to stop thinking about that happened in the old changing rooms... How she kissed him, how it felt inside her, how good she sounds when she comes, how amazing her mouth is, how hot it all was, and how had he wants his hands on his girlfriend again. Jerome shifted uncomfortably in his seat, trying to focus on the movie playing on screen but his mind kept wandering back to the events that had transpired earlier. He felt a growing sense of frustration as he struggled to concentrate, his thoughts consumed by visions of her lips, her touch, and the way she'd responded to him. He glanced over at her, catching her eye as she met his gaze with a subtle smile. Jerome's heart skipped a beat as he felt a rush of desire course through him, his body reacting instinctively to the memory of their encounter. Without breaking eye contact, Jerome subtly leaned forward, his hand drifting across the space between them until it came to rest on her thigh. His fingers grazed her skin, sending a jolt of electricity through both of them as they exchanged a charged glance.
Y/n saw in Jerome's face how bad he was getting, so she smirked and moved her hand under the table to stroke his trousers to see how hard he was biting her lip when she found him rock hard "That for the movie? Or for me?" She whispered in his ear
Jerome's eyes flashed with desire her fingers closing around his erection through his pants. He felt a groan build in his throat as she stroked him, her touch sending waves of pleasure coursing through his body. He turned his head, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered back. “For you,” he breathed, his voice husky with need. Without breaking eye contact, Jerome slid his own hand under the table, wrapping it around Y/n's wrist to hold her in place as he continued to speak. “I want you,” Jerome whispered urgently, his grip on Y/n's wrist tightening as he pulled her hand closer, “I want to feel you wrapped around me, tight and hot and wet.” He leaned in closer, his breath washing over her ear as he spoke, his words dripping with desire.
Y/n then hatched a down right evil idea. She checked around and they where right at the back in the corner of a dark classroom, everyone focused on the movie. She shifted as quietly as possible careful not to bump a chair or the table which would give them away, as she moved to sit in his lap, she quickly tugged down her panties and gasped "You won't be able to move but you can cockwarm me till the movies over." She whispered
Jerome's eyes widened in surprise as Y/n shifted onto his lap, her weight settling into the curve of his thighs. He felt a surge of excitement mixed with a hint of trepidation as she whispered her wicked proposal in his ear. He hesitated for a moment, his mind racing with the implications of what she was suggesting. But the thrill of possibility was too great to resist, and he nodded silently, his hands already moving to undo his trousers, pulling her panties to the side.As he pressed against her, Jerome felt a shiver run down his spine. It was wrong, it was reckless, and it was exactly what he wanted. He began to move slowly, slipping back into her warmth deliberately, warming her with gentle strokes as the movie played on in the background. The darkness of the classroom seemed to close in around them, isolating them from the world outside as they surrendered to their desires.
She did her best not to moan feeling him inside her. They knew they couldn't thrust or bounce or anything really but just the feeling of Jerome's cock inside her was making her so wet she was dripping down her legs the two softly moving to give each other stimulation but mostly just sitting watching the movie with his cock deep in her pussy as she milks and squeezed his throbbing cock,
Jerome's eyes remained fixed on the screen, his expression impassive as he sat still, buried deep within Y/n. But his body betrayed him, his hips subtly shifting to maintain friction, his cock twitching with every gentle squeeze of her muscles around him. As she milked and squeezed him, Jerome felt a low hum of pleasure building in his core, threatening to spill over into something more intense. He gritted his teeth, fighting to keep control, but it was no use the sensation was too much, and he began to pulse deeper within her, his movements slow and deliberate. Y/n's breathing quickened, her nails digging gently into Jerome's arm as she rode the wave of pleasure cresting within her.
Her eyelids fluttered closed, and she let out a soft whimper, her body tensing around him as she teetered on the edge of release. "Jerome... Please" she begged in a quiet whisper moving his hand to her clit
Jerome's fingers instinctively went to work, tracing light circles around Y/n's swollen clit as she begged for release. He felt a surge of power at having her so completely in his thrall, his cock still buried deep within her as he teased her towards climax. His thumb danced across the sensitive flesh, applying just enough pressure to send shivers through her body.
Y/n's hips bucked involuntarily, her nails digging deeper into Jerome's skin as she strained towards orgasm. With a subtle shift in his seat, Jerome adjusted his angle, pressing harder against her G-spot as he continued to stroke her clit. she clamped her hand over her mouth as she reached her orgasm clenching around him tightly as she tried not to give them away
Jerome's eyes snapped back to the screen, his face frozen in a mask of calm as Y/n's body convulsed around him. He bit back a groan, his cock throbbing with pleasure as she clenched down on him, her muscles rippling with each wave of her orgasm. He held perfectly still, his chest heaving slightly as he struggled to maintain control, but his eyes betrayed him, flashing with desire as he watched her lose herself in the intensity of her release.
As the final moments of the movie ticked by, Jerome's grip on Y/n relaxed, his fingers trailing away from her clit as he settled back into a neutral position. The tension in her body eased, and she let out a quiet sigh, her hand slipping away from her mouth as she caught her breath. Jerome's eyes flickered back to hers, a sly smile spreading across his face as he leaned in close, his voice barely above a whisper. “Well, that was fun.” he smirked stroking his cock covered in her juices,
"five minutes till lunch, can you make it till then where I can ride you or do you need to come now?" She whispered
Jerome's smile faltered for a moment, his eyes locking onto hers with a flash of hunger before he chuckled softly, his voice dripping with amusement. “I think I can manage that... but don't expect me to hold back baby,” He groaned biting her neck playfully,

Main OCs (Original Characters)
Tiffany - originally a D&D NPC in my first homebrew campaign (Heart of Atlantis my beloved), then I grew to love her too much to leave her alone.
Tiffany Mereign, ie Tiff, ie Theophania Athaliah Wilhelmina Fen’U-darah Mereign the Third, Queen of Atlantis, formerly Empress of the Atlantean Empire. Sea elf royalty, born on December 27th, took the throne with her father as Regent after the assassination of her mother Larethire II. She fully took the crown and throne in 1139-1140ce after killing her father Elias for his numerous crimes including the discovery that he was responsible for her mother's death.
The D&D campaign Tiff first appeared in took place in 1139-40ce where the player character party helped Tiff revive a dead goddess and use her power to kill the usurper king Elias and end a war that threatened their people. Said goddess cursed Tiff to die a thousand deaths (not by her own hand) before she can finally rest, all because Tiff rejected the offer of ascension to godhood.
Tiff handled her immortality curse... badly, to say the least. At least she met and married her loving supportive wives Cassie and Anya who help her with her chronic pain and substance addictions. Tiff is addicted to a substance known as heartstone, which is magically radioactive, which means Tiff has to wear protective clothing so that she doesn't irradiate everyone around her.
Rana - Ranarox La'Rouge, originally started as a Haunted One Bard/Rogue in a Curse of Strahd campaign, then got repurposed and fleshed out as my Dark Urge/Durge OC for Baldur's Gate 3. Raised in a circus and wooed by every pretty face they see, Rana does everything in their power to fend off the Red that swirls around their vision that brings the Urge to kill. If their eyes turn red and you are within melee range, it is already too late for you to run away.
Rana's 'canon' storyline has them falling in love with Shadowheart and Lae'Zel, finding a way to spare Minthara despite being tortured by her, rediscovering their past as the leader of the Bhaalist cult, and saving their daughter Mala from being sacrificed by Orin the Red. They found Mala (instead of Yenna) wandering around Rivington. Jaheira recognized her first as she had been acting as Mala's foster mother, since Rana had smuggled Mala away years prior to protect her from the cult (Rana was a victim of familial abuse and SA and Mala is a result of said abuse whom Rana vowed to protect from repeating the cycle of abuse). Rediscovering their progeny put them both in danger as Orin stalked the party and stole that which Rana only just got back.
Rana resorted to killing Orin to protect their child, and renounced Bhaal within the heart of his temple. Bhaal stole back their very blood and life force, disowning them. Rana only lives on because Jergal claimed them as his champion, and while the Red is never fully gone, they finally see clearly for the first time. Before disowning their murder god father, Rana's blood was black deathly ichor of the unholy god, but after Jergal claimed them, their blood became red full of life and vigor.
Ina - (Belongs to my friend Poe, I just happen to be obsessed with her and am the leader of Ina's fanclub) Ina the Kobold is a chaos entity, a zealous oath of glory paladin devoted to a deified Hatsune Miku. She came into existence after my friend rolled up a completely randomized character for a D&D game, and quickly speared her way into my heart with her wacky antics and hilarious zeal for murder.
A little known tidbit about Ina is that she's a sleeper agent, Ina is not her full name. Her true name is Ignition, which is the trigger word to temporarily switch her from chaotic stupid kobold to calculated smart dragonborn. Her Ignition alter ego is scarily competent compared to Ina. She was created in a secret magical experiment and hatched from a magically irradiated dragonborn egg. Ignition voluntarily switches back into Ina the minute whatever mission or danger she was dealing with is complete, as Ina takes far less mental energy to exist.
She is made as a contingency plan for Tiffany, so that in the case she as the queen ever goes off the rails and goes against her own morals, Ina will be there to kill her and bring her back to her senses.
Erinyes - My demonsona as it were, a self insert that morphed kind of into their own entity. They're a cheese-loving fury demon called Erin-yes. I often use them as a chaotic mini-me, and a personification of my silliness and rage. Sometimes I'll shove them into things with varied success. In D&D they'd be a tiefling or cambion as a player character, but as an NPC they've appeared as a literal erinyes devil that tried to sell cheese to the players and tormented them at various points.
Claire - My rage-filled mixed-drow religiously traumatized pyromaniac death cleric. She was raised in a cult to a goddess that stole the name of other gods - Adrestia Andraste, the Lady in White, a homebrew drow goddess of death and war and motherly retribution. Claire's drow mother was the high priestess of the Lady, and in order to become the next high priestess, Claire had to kill her mother in a ritual battle.
Claire walked over enchanted coals, was baptized in holy fire, and slayed a dragon to become the next high priestess of the cult; doing so made her fireproof to everything but her own goddess's flames. On her back they etched an intricate tattoo that brands her as her goddess's chosen, which also allows her goddess to cause her searing pain when she does something she doesn't like. A proverbial shock collar.
Claire is bitter and jaded and tries to escape the cult many times, and eventually discovers the truth of her goddess's identity theft and devotes herself to the goddess's sister Lotte (the victim of the identity theft) instead. Lotte is a drow goddess of fate, death, craftsmanship, and magic, and gives Claire the power to mend and tear the weave of magic itself. Claire is a chosen of both goddesses, one willingly, one unwillingly, and her mission is to break her ties to the Lady in White for good.
Frownless - Ah my favorite eldritch edgelord. Frownless, also called The Frownless or Freddie the Frownless or even Thotarella/Thot by my dnd group (an inside joke), is a shapeshifter known as a shadowless - he doesn't cast a shadow on the ground. Shadowless are akin to eldritch changelings that are descendants of fey celestials exiled to a demiplane. They appear as orange-tinged red haired elven people with four yellow eyes.
Frownless in particular is a notable specimen as he got exiled for killing his cousin in a fit of rage, then made a name for himself as an assassin and overall nuisance. He was hired by Tiff's father to kill her but failed miserably and ended up working for her in a weird toxic relationship instead. He tried dropping a chandelier on her and missed. He loves catfishing people since he's a shapeshifter. I love using him as a punching bag. He ends up Tiff's drug dealer at various points and brings out the worst in her.
OT - My old self insert that morphed into their own entity. This one in particular is tied to their dragon age dalish elf iteration as my main Inquisitor Lavellan. OT is a dalish mage Inquisitor and lover of Josephine Montilyet. Originally named Overtaker as a funny play on Undertaker, and then shortened it to OT for brevity, and even made it stand for different names involving the initials O and T. I even used them the first time I ever played D&D in a oneshot where they ended up dying via magic item enchanted to cast power word kill!
I have a lot of OCs but only a few I routinely use, which as of making this post consist of the above. Other OCs include Lyn, Vrei'Dara, Billie, Domi, Inanna, Dela, Johanna, Jorster, Francis, Lotte, Minaeve, Jamboree, Riff, Kestrel, Grimshaw, Veronica, Atlantea, Styx, Judith, and many others.
Others TBA
[edit 01/24/2025] - {I have streamlined this pinned post slightly, added some stuff, removed a few things}
Anyways enjoy my blog I guess? I'm so wordy at times, I know this is a whole ass wall of text to scroll through. You get an appreciative pat on the shoulder for reading through all this.

Billy Kaplan and His Glass Heart - 1. Unleash
Photo and Cover made with Mage.Space and Bing.AI
Summary (Everyone is 18+) Billy Kaplan has always lived as the odd person out, but that only intensified when he found out he was adopted. Billy adored his parents, though sometimes he thought they didn't get him. He has powers, and no one knows where he is from; they are even scared of him at times, and it only makes him sad when he realizes that.
At the end of his rope, after being severely bullied for years without interference, he decides to recite a strength spell, even though he has done it countless times before. What happened differently this time? He went to an actual witch's house and used her alter ego, but where it went long is that Agatha pitied him enough to amplify his spell. All goes wrong when an 8-foot demon appears and possesses Billy.
When Billy realizes he is too far ahead of his capabilities, it is too late. He runs to the Avengers tower for help, and in return, he gets friends—a coven of his own. He even gets a couple of heroes wanting to jump in his bed. Most surprisingly, he finds Wanda Maximoff and Vision, who seem to know exactly who he is even though he thinks they have never met.

Harkness Manor, Eastview, New Jersey
Billy walked up to the house that many people in the neighborhood call a scar on the community, but, to Billy, it was one of the most beautiful houses he had ever seen. He had always been more drawn to the morose and wicked things. No one would dare go up to Old Lady Harkness' house to ring the bell, especially at this time of night closest to the witching hour.
"What!" Agatha slammed open the door after Billy began to jam his finger at the doorbell, "Oh... You're that little Kaplan Kid, what do you want," Agatha crossed her arms.
"I'm sorry... but you know who I am, Ms. Harkness?" Billy widened his eyes, astounded that his idol knew who he was
"Get to it. You have about five seconds before I slam this door in your face," Agatha rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry, but I found out you might be into witchcraft. I saw a picture on a Reddit thread," Billy said, pulling out his phone to show her. She raised an eyebrow and looked behind Billy, a bit anxious. I would never put you in jeopardy, Ms. Harkness. I'm a Wiccan. " Billy stammered because Agatha gave him a timeframe. He was trying to get everything out.
"Ugh, really, you think you read one book, and a kid can brew a potion with essential oils," Agatha scoffed.
"N-No," Billy squeaked, not wanting her to think he was some hipster, just picking up Wicca to be different. "Do you remember that monsoon? I summoned it,"
"Kid..." Agatha scoffed. You expect me to believe that sweet little boy who loves bunnies and rainbows with perfectly manicured nails summoned a level 4 hurricane with the snap of his fingers?" She said, almost impressed.
"Well, I did have to use a fresh, saltwater fish... I can still hear his gulps as I sacrificed him," Billy said with a droopy face.
"Why did you summon up a Hurricane kid?" Agatha said, leaning against the doorframe. Is it the same reason you have a fat shiner on your left eye?"
"I thought that if I summoned the hurricane, I wouldn't have to go to school... but it only lasted overnight." Billy frowned.
"That is because you sacrificed a fish. You could have brought down all the bullies' houses, with their entire families inside them."
"No," Billy quickly shook his head, "I don't want to hurt anyone," Billy said, picking at his sweater. Agatha thought that he looked adorable... she hates adorable, but for some reason, it was causing her to pity him. "Ms. Harkness? My father is a godly man, and he destroyed my altar because it gave him the heebie-jeebies." Billy looked up at her with puppy eyes. "Do you think I could use your altar tonight? I will be quick.
"Ugh, kid, don't give me those eyes, you will melt me," she scoffed quickly, looking away.
"Sorry..."
"Fine... 3:00 to 3:15, after that my Alter is taken by me to kill that bitch Dottie's azalea bushes... I am the only house with azaleas in this neighborhood," Agatha said, and Billy gasped quickly, hugging her and jumping. She groaned and pushed him off of her.
"Sorry! Thank you so much, Ms. Harkness! I will be sure to be as fast as I can," Billy said, quickly waking up and getting ready to b-line to the basement, though she grabbed him by the earlobe.
"Kid," Agatha said, looking him up and down. By the smell of pennies on you and your look of 'I want daddy's attention' costume you got from the hot topic, I assume you cut, Mhh?"
"I-I am sorry," Billy gasped, as he had never been called out for that.
"Nah... I'm telling you if you want to get back at your bullies, then blood magic will do the best," Agatha said, and Billy nodded understanding. "Plus, you owe me. Virgin blood is in high demand," Agatha conjured up a needle and syringe, "Leave me a vial of your blood before you leave.
"Yes, Ms. Harkness," Billy said, waiting for her to dismiss him. She smiled at that.
"You need help, kid? I doubt you got a real spell or charm that could knock the socks off of those douchebags from Wikipedia or whatever godawful site you get your spells from,"
"I get it from Witchapedia and the Dark Web," Billy said, and Agatha rolled her eyes as that was even worse. And n-no... I need to do this alone," Billy said, and Agatha nodded. He pulled his backpack off and ran to the basement. He only had so little time to set up this spell.
Billy finds Agatha's alter, pulls out his usual equipment for spells, and lays them out in order. A white candle and his father's old lighter, two small bowls and put a packet of salt in one and some water from a water bottle in the other, jasmine incense for inner strength and cedarwood for strength in general, and finally, a bloodstone for courage and emotional strength
"Ugh... a stupid strengthening spell," Agatha turned up her nose as she watched afar.
"By my blood, I bind my life force to the flow of this power." Billy recited as he used a knife to prick into his finger, watching it drop into the small bowl of water
"Hmm, interesting," Agatha shrugged, seeing that this told her that Billy was the real deal and serious about his craft. "A little nudge wouldn't hurt," She shrugged. Despite the complacent attitude about this neighborhood and the children's fear of her, she was pretty involved because she is so nosey. She knew the Kaplan's kid had been put in this hospital multiple times by bullies beating him so bad he nearly bled out, he needed all the strength he could get.
Billy centered himself and began to chant the spell three times.
"Ignis potentiae, flamma vitae, ("Fire of power, flame of life,
Aer ventorum, da mihi vires. Air of winds, give me strength.
Aqua fluens, vis meae animae, Flowing water, force of my soul,
Terra stabilis, da mihi robur. Stable earth, give me resilience.
Elementa sacra, invoco vestram virtutem, Sacred elements, I invoke your power,
In corpus meum, potentia augeatur!" Into my body, let strength increase!")
Billy could feel the power doubling, almost like his cup was flowing over. He has done this several times in the past to hone his power a bit more, he knew preforming this at a witches alter that was centuries old would really help... however Agatha in the distance was conjuring a add on if you will.
"Ex tenebris vires haurio, et potentiam tuam duplico, sanguis et umbra in te fluant." ("From the darkness, I draw strength and double your power, let blood and shadow flow into you.")
Billy saw black smoke coming from the floorboards, except under the floorboards, which were just concrete. He widened his eyes and quickly tried to break the spell by cleaning up. Thats was when Umbraxus, the Shadow Weaver, rose to his staggering 8 feet tall. His face was one of horror, and he had a black sheen to his skin. He screamed out at Billy, unhinging his jaw to scare him.
"Ahhh!" Billy screamed at the top of his lungs while Angela gasped, clasping her necklace. As his mouth was open, Umbraxus saw his chance and dive into him. Without a host, he would have no powers, and with similar powerful abilities as each other, they would only amplify each other.
"H-Honey," Agatha slowly walked toward Billy. Kid? Are you okay?" she asked, horrified for the first time in a long time. He looked at her a bit plain for a moment before returning to his cute and innocent personality.
"Oh, thank you, Ms. Harkness! I feel a lot more powerful already," he smiled at her as he cleaned up. Agatha looked at him with eyes as wide as saucers. She flinched as he got up, but he didn't see. "Thank you again, Ms. Harkness," Billy hugged her, and she cringed.
"Thats enough now, kid," She muttered.
"Oh, sorry, you don't seem like much of a hugger," Billy said, backing up, "I hope one day I get to be as powerful as you... and to have an awesome alter like you," He said excitedly, looking around. "I can't wait to find a coven...."
"Covens are a waste of time," Agatha winked, and Billy widened his eyes and looked a little disappointed, "You'll be strong enough to be better off on your own. Covens only diminish your power," She shrugged. "Now what you really wanna do is get all of the correct equipment, and you walk the road,"
"Oh my gods! You walked the road?" Billy squeaked, and she winked at him, "Tell me, tell me, tell me!"
"Another time, kid, you are cutting in my time," Agatha said, and Billy apologized, "Before you go, throw away that bloodstone... it's fake,"
"It is?" Billy knitted his eyebrows.
"Well, if it isn't fake, then it's really weak. Get a raw stone from the earth." Agatha chuckled, "Not a weak little mall store,"
"Yes, Ma'am. I'll see you, Ms. Harkness!" Billy said, running out of the house with a big smile. She had a moment to think about what had just happened.
"Ah, it's nothing," She brushed it off and began to crack her joints, "Dottie's Azaleas, get ready to with wither, you're facing the wrath of Agatha Harkness," Please Vote, Comment, Add to your reading list, and share with your friends:) Check out my subreddit for my writings r/QuinnLake

Hi! This is a fic rec of my favorite reality show au's organized by word count from longest to shortest. You can view my other fic recs here. Enjoy!
As You Are by Zarah5 (139k)
AU. Five years after The X Factor launched his career as a radio host and songwriter, Louis Tomlinson returns as a judge. Falling for a contestant is the last thing he needs. It's also against his contract.
The only reason Harry auditions for The X Factor is because his best mate signed the two of them up as some kind of joke. Harry doesn't get the big deal—not until he's faced with this season's judges and realises that one of them used to be his desperate, impossible teenage crush.
For the Right Reasons by juliusschmidt / @juliusschmidt (105k)
Harry doesn’t agree to be the Bachelor expecting to find love. He’s just hoping for an exciting jaunt around the world, half a dozen new friends, and, if he’s lucky, an amazing hj or two.
Louis may have signed up to be a contestant on the Bachelor, but he’s not interested a ring or a proposal, not from Harry, not from anyone. He wouldn’t turn down a few more Instagram followers, though.
Somewhere In Between Lightning by jassy117 nauticalleeds shiningdistractionwrites / @nauticalleeds @shiningdistraction (99k)
As Louis took another bite, he thought back to how he had once believed that the hardest thing about being on Love Island would be Liam handling his social media. He had been wrong. It was Harry Styles, peeking over at Louis as he forked a pancake into his mouth, and gauging his reaction. It was having to quench the swelling of his heart, which felt simultaneously like hope and the breaking of a thousand pieces.
---
A summer gone wrong (or very right) when, under Liam’s persuasion, Louis finds himself drunkenly applying for Love Island, and getting accepted. Oh, well. A summer spent on an island paradise couldn’t be all that bad, right?
Imagine his surprise when Louis arrives in sunny Majorca to find that his first love and ex-boyfriend, Harry, is another contestant, about to capture the hearts of everyone in the villa. Most normal people don’t have to face their ex on an otherwise straight TV show. Most normal people don’t fall for their ex again in front of the whole nation, either. Too bad this whole situation isn’t normal.
The Stars Are Guiding Me Back by coffeelouis / @coffeelouis (80k)
Directing the first ever season of The Bachelor with a bisexual star is a huge career move for Louis. After throwing himself into his career, he finally has the opportunity to prove himself as a director with a unique vision.
For Harry, being cast as the first ever Bi Bachelor means finally putting his ex-boyfriend behind him and starting anew. He's taking a chance on finding love and determined to do it right this time.
They didn't exactly think this through.
[or, the BACHELOR AU where Louis directs his ex-boyfriend Harry in his season as America's first bi bachelor.]
The Wicked Game by cherrystreet / @cherrystreet (70k)
An AU in which The Bachelor is gay, Louis is a contestant, Harry is the bachelor, everyone drinks a lot of champagne, the entire world gets to watch them fall in love, and no one plays by the rules.
Outwit, Outplay, Outlast by dancesongsoul, lookatyourchoices (60k)
“Tommo and Harry are gonna do it. I don’t know when, but they’re gonna do it. They’ve got the mattress, the pillows, everything’s in place, and they’re gonna do it. I really wish those two the best of luck.” –Taylor Swift, "Chapera"
Or a Survivor All-Stars AU in which Harry and Louis are just in this game to win the million dollars, but they end up with something better.
Featuring Harry's yellow swim shorts, Louis in snapbacks, and OT5 shenanigans.
Becoming Us by sweariwouldnt (59k)
Married at First Sight is a television show in which hopefuls looking for The One are matched by experts deeming them to be the perfect match. The twist? They meet each other for the first time at the altar. When they exchange their ‘I do’s’. And get married for real.
One Harry and Louis find each other at the altar. They have five weeks to make or break the set-up marriage.
Playing To Win by jacaranda_bloom / @jacaranda-bloom (36k)
Big Brother UK alumni Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are selected for the UK vs Australia All Stars series with a massive one million dollar prize in the offing. They’re both fit and smart and would make a great alliance... if only they can stop their feelings from getting in the way.
OR the one where Louis really doesn’t want to like Harry, Harry is struggling to quell his growing fondness for Louis, but sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t fight fate.

Prophecy And Symbolism of Eastern Grass Owl
The Following Channel is from higher powers, Divine, the ancestral plane and is prophetic through Quornesha S. Lemon|
Whether the Eastern Grass Owl appears in dreams, visions, waking life or synchronicities, it is a sign and message that you’re safe, protected and guarded by divine forces that help battle lower frequencies on your behalf. A traitor will be exposed and the authorities of the spirit will see the truth. You are more powerful than you were before. Your confidence is on another level, as well as your love. Your thoughts are highly regarded and you confuse your enemies. The prosperity of the wicked will come to you. Divine will alchemize all that opposes you and put blessings into your hand instead of what the enemy desires.
You are a force to be reckoned with and you walk so gracefully that the only thing/being that can humble you is God/Divine. You can rest assured that the next chapter of your life is that of being unbothered, unhindered and unstoppable. Not only do your ancestors trust and love you. but other people’s ancestors love you as well. You honor people that you have never met before. Your heart is golden.
This message isn't, obviously resonant with all whose paths it crosses, as perhaps you may encounter someone of this vernacular, mastery or skill. Therefore, it is a sign from the universe that you're meant to work with such a person. What was once a threat will subside. Pay attention to an increase in your finances or salary. You are watched over by higher powers. You are loved in many realms and some of these very realms fear to try you in a malevolent way.
To Go against you is to go against God/Divine. You are about to, if you have not already are about to be gifted with sight to commune with forces beyond the control of the ordinary and you will have authority over it all. You will have a grace and favor over your life. Dead goals and dreams will be resurrected. New passions will arise. It’s time you live in a paradise of your own. Your instincts will begin to be right on the money. Pinpoint even. A shift has occurred that no one can undo. NO power in heaven/hell can nullify.
Need further clarity or your own queries answered? Book your own reading as my schedule is full and I do not guarantee a reply on social media regarding this post.
If this is not you, then it is time to get clear to rejoin your tribe or the rest of the world of infinite beings. It's time to bring your light to the forefront. However, if you aren't able to invoke, heal or otherwise on your own, call on the assistance of shamans, healers, intuitive people, etc. to assist you. This synchronicity can possibly have specific meanings for you, it's time to get insight.

hello Meiri! I'm currently reading through your last Pathologic fic and I'm absolutely in love with it. One thing that sticked out to me, though, (in this fic and others you've written) was the many references to mythology/different myths, which is a topic I'm very interested in but in which I have almost no knowledge. So I thought I'd ask: Do you have any particular recommendations of books (or any other media) on the topic? Hope you have a nice day!
hiiiii HAPPY TO HEAR YOU'RE ENJOYING IT SO FAR and i'm going to keep it 100 You gotta read the Iliad & the Odyssey. if you want to approach greek myths (which is the canon i put the most in my writing) you gotta do it. when i was barely learning to read age 4 my dad would read me the Iliad & the Odyssey so i very much come from a background of I Knew This Already and didn't have to get into it as an adult but this was the entry point for me. helped by the fact that i was 4. this was My entrypoint to greek mythology age 4 and i consider it pretty essential reading if you want to get into that. also obviously Ovid's 25 Metamorphoses. it's a pretty short read (middle school mandatory reading here) like book thinner than my pinkie. also keeping it 100 I Read Wikipedia Pages For Fun. i know it's not everyone's cup of tea but that is a real thing. many greek myths have gone through multiple iterations and reading wikipedia pages allow you to see their different iterations and seek them out on your own.
if you're not into reading wiki pages as a hobby and are not particularly interested in checking out the Iliad & the Odyssey right away i recommend Anne Carson's works, especially Eros the Bittersweet (not necessarily Myths-related) & her "An Oresteia", which is a more-modern-minded translations of Agamemnon (by Aeschylus), Elektra (by Sophocles) and Orestes (by Euripides)
here's my reasoning: while EtB does not exclusively relate to greek myths in particular, it is articulate around greek poetry in general and it (in my vision at least) give you a real appreciation for the written greek word; it's like a peek behind the scenes at how Writing A Myth was conceptualized, even if its main subject is Eros [the bittersweet] & while you're also "better off" reading the original plays of Agamemnon, Elektra & Orestes, if you truly have no knowledge of greek tragedies & how they are woven in myths/myths are woven into them, Carson's translation give them a "fresh" "modern" "kick" that makes them way easier to read than older translation and also i think would give one the "taste" for more greek tragedies (fun fact! "House of Atreus! House swollen with blood and soot, with divine rage and spit(e) [...]" is directly inspired by the (Aeschylus) Oresteia: the House of Atreus is the wicked house around which Orestes' story articulates itself...)
this is maybe revealing nothing new of me but i've watched No movies about greek myths and i have read No "modern retellings"/contemporary YA or NA books with or about greek myths or things of the sort. most i'm completely uninterested in frankly.
HOPE THIS HELPS i know it's. pretty dry to tell someone to read the iliad & the odyssey if they want to get into greek myths but like. gotta be done doesn't it. also anne carson's translation work & hopefully it gives you a Taste for the Rest. i really did like my reading of her An Oresteia & it truly did give me the kick i needed to finish this fic lol.
#LONG. SORRY. BUT HOPE THIS HELPS 👍#anonymous#allô (answers)#also and this might completely depend on where you live lol but if you live in western/centraleastern europe there probably is some#Roman Antiquities museum near you so. scurry in there and take notes to look up figures or gods/goddesses you feel interested in.#this is one of the things that also got me into greek mythology (to have an Antiquities museum nearby that is) but i know it's very like.#geograph-dependant unforch

If Spookies feels like two different movies, it’s because it’s one of those nightmare productions where the “making of” story might be more interesting than the movie itself. Yes, too many cooks spoil the broth and Spookies is solid evidence that too many filmmakers ruin the movie. With production being shanghaied near the beginning of post-production work and half the film reshot, Grue Believers will never know if the original crew’s vision would’ve made a better movie. Throw in some top makeup and effects people early in their careers and the Grue Crew have plenty to fuel their talkabout of this fun, mess of a movie.
At the time of this writing, Spookies is available to stream from Tubi, Shudder, ScreamBox, and AMC+, and on physical media in Blu-ray format in a 2-disc set from Vinegar Syndrome.
Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film chosen by Jeff, will be Just Before Dawn (1981), an underappreciated slasher from co-writer/director Jeff Lieberman (Squirm, 1976; Blue SunshineI, 1977) and starring George Kennedy, Chris Lemmon, Deborah Benson, Greg Henry, and Mike Kellin.

Monkey Man Packs a Brutal Punch: A Review
Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over the man who took everything from him.
It's nothing short of a miracle that the Monkey Man has finally emerged from the depths of development purgatory. After years of languishing in the turbulent waters of Netflix's production pipeline, Jordan Peele emerged as the savior, resurrecting the project and ushering it onto the grand stage of the silver screen. However, despite the palpable excitement and joy that accompanied its long-awaited release, I find myself grappling with conflicting emotions.
On one hand, the film's stylistic choices, characterized by the relentless use of shaky cam, uncomfortably close-up cinematography, and disjointed editing, left me feeling perpetually unsettled and, at times, downright nauseated. Throughout the entirety of its runtime, I found myself silently pleading for respite from the visual chaos, yearning for clarity amidst the frenetic flurry of motion that dominated the screen. Yet, alas, my desperate entreaties were met with indifference, as the film stubbornly clung to its chosen aesthetic, heedless of its potential impact on its audience. Moreover, while the premise of the film held promise, offering the tantalizing allure of a revenge thriller, the execution ultimately fell prey to the trappings of the genre. The narrative unfolded along a disappointingly predictable trajectory, with each plot twist and turn telegraphed well in advance, robbing the story of any genuine sense of suspense or intrigue. It became increasingly evident that the film was content to tread familiar ground, relying heavily on tired tropes and clichés rather than daring to chart a more innovative and unexpected course.
However, conversely, one cannot overlook the evident passion that director, co-writer, and lead actor, Dev Patel, has poured into this project. His directorial prowess not only breathed life into the script but also elevated it to new heights through the incorporation of cultural metaphors and meticulous artistic direction. Patel's vision packs a powerful punch, particularly evident in the film's action sequences. Despite some reservations about the framing, these moments are executed with a raw and brutal intensity that hits in all the right ways Featuring unique yet visceral kills and a trio of extended action set pieces, Patel draws inspiration from the John Wick franchise while infusing the genre with his own distinctive flair. Furthermore, the film deftly navigates numerous political and social themes with remarkable finesse, seamlessly integrating them into the fabric of the narrative. Particularly commendable is its handling of trans representation, notably through the portrayal of the Hijra people, which surpasses the treatment typically found in mainstream LGBT+ media.
As anticipated, Dev Patel shines brilliantly as an action star in the first trailer. He exudes a raw, ferocious intensity befitting a formidable action hero while also conveying an emotional vulnerability that encapsulates his character's traumatic past. Sikandar Kher and Makarand Deshpande deliver compelling performances as the antagonists, showcasing their formidable acting chops. However, their characters are somewhat underutilized, particularly Deshpande, who remains mostly in the shadows over 95% of the film. There's a yearning for a deeper exploration of his character beyond merely being a background figure. On a contrasting note, Vipin Sharma's unexpected presence brings a comforting warmth and love to the screen.
In summary, "Monkey Man" packs a powerful punch as Dev Patel establishes himself in the action genre. While the film may have its shaky moments, it brims with passion and creativity. It's evident that Patel is still honing his craft, but this marks a commendable debut for the first-time director. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
On another note, how is it possible for a man who works at an underground flight club, to still have one of the most beautiful faces in the world despite being beaten to a pulp every night? Someone teach me this sorcery.
My Rating: B
