so YMTJAD has two drafts and they’re both a logan stepping up into a mentor role with Kimi and Ollie.

In the original draft, Logan becomes a test driver for Mercedes during the 2025 season. Kimi and Logan become super closer during the year and George is moving onto another team so he vouches for Logan.

Kimi has been struggling and Toto’s everlasting disappointment was not helping so George gets Logan a seat with Mercedes (Toto does not approve btw). I ended the wip around the time pre-seasons testing for 2026 started.

For the current draft, Kimi and Ollie are sent to Logan during the 2024 pre-season testing. Logan agrees out of love and loyalty to Prema so the first half is just a 24yr old tryna bond with a 17/18 yr old. Logan picks up Italian, bonds with Kimi and Ollie and solidifies himself as their favorite grid brother.

Closer than strangers is based off of Closer than Strangers by 5sos and it’s a Loscar fic.

Logan gets dropped mid-season to make way for another driver and he gets picked up for another team but not until 2025 as a test driver.

Oscar starts to realize how Logan was always by his side and now he’s gone so he’s just kind of like “bro what do i do at this point” and starts to realize like “lmao i’m in love with him and this is the longest we’ve gone without being by each others side” so there’s touch of co-dependency

Logan who has been in love with oscar since he could put a name to the feeling tortures himself by becoming Oscar’s unofficial wag and the whole world sees Oscar fall in love with Logan. It’s kind of angsty because of Logan’s insecurities with being good enough and the detrimental effects of being dropped by your team and cutting contact with almost everyone as a form of coping.

I THINK I may have talked about this with you before? I will say the very first line of the doc is

I started this before ep.12’s whole Kenta is Tony’s dog thing…. whew.

I was picking up the vibes!!!

it starts off like this:

Kenta on his knees is a caged animal. For a long time he was a loyal obedient dog. Then he went feral. Bit his master. Ran away. And now here he is, kneeling at Kim's feet, only because Kim told him to. Just because Kim told him to. This kind of feeling—this is what makes men go mad with power. “Comfortable?” Kim asks. “Yes,” Kenta answers without hesitation. There’s a cushion under his knees, and no tension in the neat line of his shoulders, so he’s probably telling the truth. Kim runs a quick hand through Kenta’s hair.

and then it will devolve into porn 😌 I mostly like writing it because I really have a lot of fun writing from the POV of the top/dom and also I feel like Kim's POV is tricky to capture! so this is partly an exercise to see if I can.

I have three (3) (😩) (🤔) active WIPs at the moment.

One is a mess but very dear to me and it is a secret in that I am being weirdly precious about it and don’t wanna talk about it.

But I’ll share some little snippets from the other two.

This is from a 5+1 fic that is mostly Ted/Rebecca (with a probable guest star), covering last nights of Ted’s visits to London starting with the first night they hook up. (Fun fact: the charades snippet from discord has morphed into the start of the first night!) Here’s a few lines from the end of part one of the story:

At three in the morning, they calculate when Ted needs to leave to get his stuff from the hotel and make it to the airport on time. They’ve been lying in the dark awake together, unwilling to stop touching or talking, but the sobering calculations make Rebecca turn a light on. There’s barely any time left. 

“I’ll take you,” she says. 

They shower together, nearly dazed under the hot spray of water. After, he dresses in his rumpled clothes, and she puts on soft things—yoga pants, a sports bra, a gauzy jumper. His hotel isn’t far, and she idles on the street in the Range Rover while he rushes inside to pack. He’s back in under ten minutes, and then all that’s left is to drive to Heathrow and hold each other in the departures lane and cry.

And then this next one is also from a post-s3 story, this time a Beard/Rebecca/Ted situation in which Beard is single-parenting and Ted and Rebecca are in a long-distance relationship that they very enthusiastically invite him to join despite him being all kinds of fucked in the head. :)

This is from right in the beginning:

The only reason Beard is awake this early in the morning is because Lavender is crying. It’s cool and dim in Rebecca’s bedroom, the perfect conditions for sleep, and he’s been sleeping deeply until now. Even the sound of the baby crying is almost soothing in its familiarity, but she gets louder almost immediately, upgrading from dissatisfied whimpers to a proper caterwaul. 

“I’ll go,” Rebecca murmurs. 

“No,” he tries to say, but he’s sleepy and slow, and Rebecca is already shoving the duvet down her body and sitting up. 

“You got her last time,” she says. “It’s fine.” She brushes her hand against his bare shoulder and she’s gone. 

He’s glad he doesn’t have time to say what he’s thinking, which is But I’m her dad. He doesn’t mean You aren’t her parent; you don’t count, but there’s a good chance she’d take it that way.

He means You shouldn’t have to help at all. He means We shouldn’t even be here. I should be better at being on my own.

Please tell us about Undine!

Three years ago I read "Undines Valediction" by the Austrian Author Ingeborg Bachmann, in which a mystic creature, the mermaid Undine, rants about the vicious cycle of her life, which dooms her to be lured ashore, take on human form, and inevitably fall in love with a man called Hans.

Hans can be good looking, rich, poor, nice, loving, a goon, a prince ... and will in the end always betray her, which leads to his downfall.

(It's short and worth reading.)

It inspired me to start a ReyLo story.

Rey, the spirit of a river, is used by her grandfather, the spirit of the ocean, to be drawn ashore in regular intervals, where she would fall in love with a man called Ben, who always was the offspring of someone who angered her grandfather.

This time she was fighting the urge as long as she could, but ended up in human form in a big city on the shores of her river in the end. Working at a coffee shop with a mermaid as its logo (ha! the irony!), she meets her Ben. She is sure it must be him, she recognizes him, is drawn to him, but the name he gives her is Kylo, and he is appears uninterested in her...

How will it play out? Will they be able to defy fate?

When the Day Met the Night [Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney]

Ah yes! My fake-relationship/co parenting/family drama au! One of my old favorite ideas for AA4, and one I'll probably return to when I get started replaying the game (just as soon as the FE brain rot abates a tiny bit)-

[CW for inaccurate sex ed information? A character believes that being on T acts a kind of contraceptive in this snippet, even though that is in no way true, though it is a common misconception]

[Also like, spoilers for Ace Attorney 4, for anyone that cares about that sort of thing.]

            When he gets back to his shitty one bedroom apartment and vomits immediately into the toilet, he puts it down to the stress of the day- the worst court debut in history. When he wakes up the next day, dizzy, a little feverish, and with a sore chest, he decides he caught something and is half way to calling into work when he remembers that his boss is currently being indicted for murder, so he just goes back to bed.             A week later, his period fails to start, which is weird because he’s always been stupidly regular. A fear takes root in the back of his mind, an irrational thought he refuses to give credence. A few days pass, still he dosen’t bleed.             He gets the tiny plastic stick from the drug store, telling himself it’s just for peace of mind. He’s been on testosterone shots since he got his job, the insurance he had gotten through Gavin and Co Law Offices leaving him with a only slightly outrageous co-pay to worry about, and even then he and Kristoph use condoms. Even if they hadn’t, everyone knows that T drastically diminishes the possibility of conception. The chances of a condom tearing even once and that once just happening to beat the odds to knock him up are astronomically low. Apollo’s unlucky, but no one is that unlucky.             He watches the ceiling, making himself wait for the timer on his phone to go off. When it does, he takes a deep breath, picks up the pregnancy test and sees the tiny pink plus sign that indicates that he is in fact, that unlucky.

Basically the premise is 'Klavier x Apollo fake relationship/co parenting AU'. Apollo had been in a relationship with Kristoph Gavin prior to the events of the game and discovers he is pregnant right after the first case. Knowing what a spectacularly bad idea it would be to tell Kristoph (and that Kristoph couldn't help anyways since he's you know, in jail awaiting a murder charges) Apollo decides to go it alone, and this influences his decision to join Wright and Co Law Offices despite being pissed at Phoenix for the events of 4-1.

Game unfolds as normal, with Apollo meeting Klavier Gavin, who shows a surprising amount of care and respect to Apollo after it comes out that he's pregnant (never acting like it's weird or treating him poorly even as the Judge and other law folks patronize him), but when the baby is eventually born it is impossible not to see the resemblance to Kristoph, and Klavier offers to help Apollo in whatever way he can, both because he likes Apollo and because he wants to take care of his nephew.

Apollo worried about his son (who is named Orestes, Ori for short, because I can't resist a good mythological reference) having to deal with the stigma of being a murderer's son, accepts Klavier's offer, and the two pass off Ori as Klavier's child, rather then his nephew. In order to shield him from the media attention bound to come with having a rock star's out-of-wed-lock baby, Klaiver insists Apollo and Ori move into his penthouse.

Apollo is determined that this arrangement, which he is only participating for Ori's sake (he 100% does not like Klavier Gavin That Way Thank You Very Much and also he does not enjoy the sight of Klavier shirtless just Out of the Shower, he swears), remain strictly platonic (which Klaiver is 100% cool with and not all bummed about he swears, it would be weird to want to date his brother's ex-protege/lover), but of course, the two have to put on a convincing charade lest the truth come out thanks to nosy journalists like Lotta, and play at being the domestic new family.

Romcom/domestic shenanigans ensue, eventually followed by more murder and family drama and Klavier having to wrestle with his feeling of inadequacy compared to Kristoph, and Apollo having to wrestle with his sense of Not Belonging since he was a foster kid from a foreign country and-

Well you get the idea.

A sense8 au??? Tell me more please!

That's a really old WIP I pulled out of the drawer recently 😂 it's Dragon Age II fic from back when I was firmly in my Fenders (Fenris/Anders) phase for a couple months!

The idea was to have the DA2 crew be soulbonded a la Sense8 canon from early pre-canon. The main goal, and the majority of the snippets I've written, focus on what this means for Fenris and Anders and their particular relationship, what with the parallels of their history of abuse. I figured they'd be drawn to each other and support each other mentally while going through that stuff, so when they meet in Kirkwall they have a good basis to work through their differences of opinion!

It would still be complicated, of course, but due to having lived through the trauma together, they have a better understanding what shaped each other and a willingness to breach the gap between them.

I had a feeling you’d get on that one. I talked to you about it when I first got the idea after all.

It’s still in the planning stages but the goal is for it to be about 10 chapters and an open “onto another adventure” ending. Very episodic feeling.

Basically: Jaster is a professor at a university, setting is still GFFA but there’s no more Sith or Mando civil war etc. Jaster’s always getting drawn into Nonsense and his department head wants him to settle down and stop coming back from research with blaster burns etc. so he assigns him a GRA.

Luckily, Walon is proficient with both a rifle and a sword.

They fall in love while bonding from the trauma of whatever mess Jaster has fallen and dragged them both into this time. (Is it possible this will become a series? Perhaps.)

I think I may give them a weird temple with booby traps.

But yeah this is the next long fic I work on after Spar solo fic (btptg).

lol I'm guessing this is for the WIP tag meme? it is! I recently watched the special episode for the first time and. MY HEART. I love them so much.

anyway it begins like this:

It's difficult for Nuea to decide which of Lom's outfits he likes best. The suits are magnificent. Always tailored to perfection, they show off every elegant line of Lom's body, and the combination of the waistcoat and blazer serve wonderfully to emphasise the broad expanse of his chest and shoulders. Not to mention the way Lom, when he notices Nuea looking, will get that look in his eye that says he knows several delightfully wicked ways to use his tie, and the only reason he's not demonstrating them on Nuea is because they're not alone.

and carries on from there... Lom has a lot of great looks okay!! and I adore how these two are always just so hot for each other. and the title is from the quote "dressing well is a form of good manners"

I think my favourite part of the fic so far is this part though:

“I thought we were going to go out for lunch,” Nuea asks, his eyes wide with faux-innocence. Lom shudders, clearly torn between his desire to have Nuea right now and his desire to always give Nuea whatever he wants. Nuea loves him so much it hurts. “We can—Of course. Lunch,” Lom says, taking a few deep breaths and shifting away. Nuea loops his arms around Lom’s neck and tugs him back down. “I’m just kidding. We can go out for dinner instead.”

Nuea's willingness to throw Lom over for good food is the best. so here is a little declaration of love.
