The Bear - Sleight Of Hand Movie Posters

The Bear and films go hand in hand. @chefkids has mentioned movies that influenced the Bear, @thoughtfulchaos773 talks about filmmaking please see the link (thank you for your help! :)) and we discussed the horror themes of S3. (Check out thoughtful for that too.)

We know anything that can be read or seen in a scene is important.

So, let's talk about the movie posters from S1,S2 & S3. Sorry gang, it's a bit long lol.

Each season has a set posters that depict the plot of the season and where the next might go.

S1 - All the Right Moves, Marked for Death, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Speed, Jumping Jack Flash, and Only The Lonely

All the Right Moves- a talented footballer who longs for something more outside his hometown and the family job. (Carmy)

Marked for Death- Main character, DEA agent, his partner is killed in an undercover drug deal. Main character returns home to Chicago to find it taken by drug dealer. (Carmy and Mikey)

Ghostbusters- I don't think I need to explain this one. Lol S3 and haunting and how they have to work together

Speed - the 2 main characters need to stop a bad guy before a bomb goes off. The characters become love interests. (Every Second Counts, Sydney and Carmy.)

Jumping Jack Flash - Whoppi Goldberg is a computer genius who needs to help a secret agent. The characters become love interests. AND HE STANDS HER UP AT A RESTAURANT. I shit you not. (Sydney and Carmy) Also, every second counts theme and calling someone cousin is in this movie.

Groundhog Day -another I don't need to explain BUT it's interesting this theme is more striking in S3. AND how Bill Murray's character falls in love

Only the Lonely - now this one I'll link here. This one needs it's own post. But essentially it's a guy who cares for his mom but he meets a girl, likes her and starts dating her despite what his family and friends say.

BUT I THOUGHT THE BEAR WASN'T A ROMANCE. THEN WHAT THE HECK IS THIS DOING IN S1 SAYING THE PLOT OF S2 and part of S3 and probably S4?!

S2 - Rounders, Alien, White Squall

Rounders - Main character MIKE loses 30k to mobster KGB. And how he pays it back.

Mikey had the original loan and don't forget KBL. Carmy is now left with it.

Alien - this is S3!!!! Alien life force takes over one of the crew and they get tormented (fucked) by it. (Carmy gets taken over and Sydney is left to figure out her shit :()

White Squall - S2 and S3 - how they need to overcome a storm together and learn together

S3 - 25th Hour and Say Anything

25th Hour - guy spends his last day before going to jail trying to make things right. (Possible S4? Main character has a love interest!)

Say Anything - another 80's love movie. "The film follows the romance between Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack), an average student, and Diane Court (Ione Skye), the class valedictorian, immediately after their graduation from high school." <Wikipedia

What I will say about this movie is that the girls DAD does not approve of Lloyd. And Lloyd makes GRAND GESTURES.

Now, again, a romance when we're told it's not...Pppffftttttt! It's been a freakin romantic plot since the start.

8. SantaClausula me encanta, me recuerda a mi hermana.

9. De Mendigo a Millonario esta película me recuerda a mis abuelos, a mi papá y a mis tíos.

#RIP Patrick Swayze dang. I was 17 when I saw this movie. Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze was either married or boyfriend and girlfriend. Either was . Swayze character was targeted and killed by a man name Willie. Whoppi Goldberg played Ada Mae Pierce. Medium/ conartist. Swayze character spirit could not move on; once Swayze character found out who killed him. Why he was killed. Willie died. The demons took him to hell. Swayze character best friend also was dragged to hell by demons. Swayze went to heaven. Money is the root of all evil. Yes, Swayze character was killed over money. All the embezzlement funds that the best friend stole from people. Was transfer into an account to help the needy. Not the greddy.

Porco once did a presentation on whooping cough for high school and he opened the Powerpoint with a photo of Whoppi Goldberg coughing. He and Pieck were the only people who laughed at it and he couldn't start the presentation for five minutes because Pock was laughing too hard at his own joke.

I'd argue you don't have the child until it's born. But if thata not enough, I'd also argue that nobody else has the right to use someone organs without their consent, so why does that change here.

And you know what? Even beyond all of that, the 16 year old being pregnant does not change any of the other legitimate points brought up in this picture.

The 16 year old hasn't finished her education, and because of an accident, now she might not be able to.

She can't financially support herself. So unless there are programs that can consistently help her (there aren't because they keep getting gutted or changed), or her family can help (coin toss on that), the mother is now stuck with an incomplete education, limited options to get income, and the extreme expense of parenting. An expense that families with 2 working parents can't always afford, so I hope the dad is there somewhere but we all know the state for pregnancies like this one.

And she isn't a legal adult. Her getting pregnant doesn't change that. Which means she has even more limited resources than a legal adult would, and is going to struggle even more. Struggles that will carry down to the fetus after it is born.

You are using pregnancy as a punishment because of an accident happening. You're forcing your beliefs on others.

As I've said before, if you are against abortion, don't get one for yourself. But DONT force that belief on others.

EVERYONE DESERVES A CHOICE. And that choice should always be respected. If that 16 year old decides she wants to keep it? Fine. But if she looks at everything I've said and decides against it? She deserves that choice, and the healthcare option that abortion is.

Beyond even these arguments; banning abortion doesn't stop people from getting them. It makes abortions more dangerous, and more likely to leas to long term complications, or even death.

This is so well known, something that was so common, that..... im pretty sure it was Whoopi Goldberg...... has an incredibly dark piece of stand up about it. From the perspective of a girl getting an abortion. I saw the bit once while I was in college, it was part of a class about stand up comedy being a form of literature and how it can cover incredibly dark topics. Whoppi Goldberg herself has come out about having an illegal abortion and how dangerous it was. I will have to find that piece of standup, it was incredible and brutal.

So I read about the comedians that met up in Vatican after an invite from the pope. And I was so not impressed at all.

BUT THEN I read that he invited comedians from various countries...and just like that I suddenly see a photo of Annette Frier and Whoppi Goldberg...and now I am impressed.

I still don't get why, and how this random group of people was chosen (I mean...Hazel was there and Sträter I believe??? Sounds like they looked into the LOL cast) but that was surprising for sure!

He does this by stalking and hustling out Gotham’s elite by telling scarily accurate fortunes based on information he gathers about them. His life is strange, but he wouldn’t change a thing! Then he gets booked for the big Wayne Halloween party. Then he slowly finds himself tangled with the Waynes. I love how even though Tim’s living situation changed, Tim still finds a way into the Wayne family. And he gets to help each of the members of the family, and they reciprocate it in the end!

This seems like a SUPER interesting alternate universe, some part due to this tag (which made me giggle):

Fair and I am so serious about how much that both confuses me and intrigues me hahaha. I love fics like this though that seemingly come out of a fever dream (or in @wesslan's case, perhaps sleep deprivation), and I think this is such an interesting approach to Tim's storyline.
