This is the same anon who was a part of SBI writing spaces. This is another addition to the use of family dynamics in the fandom, and it's like with fetish/kink material

This is pretty grim, but I was sexually abused and groomed in the fandom, by an outspoken adult fan, who had a decently sized account (think 1-2k), using the idea of "family dynamics" to hold control over me, the things I did, and the people I talked to. I was directly compared to Tommy (in references to RPF, DSMP, and "AUs") multiple times

I am no longer in contact with this person and am now safe, but I saw the exact same thing happening over and over again in the fandom. Big, adult SBI accounts with suspiciously young friends who they parade around as "younger siblings," compare themselves to Crimeboys (the same.... weird, touchy, possessive crimeboys they're writing)

it's an epidemic that nobody wants to address because it's kept behind closed doors, since nobody wants to accuse anyone of being "weird". Plus, the "are you implying family stuff is romantic/sexual?!?!" train of thought that is slung around at any questioning is still a really prominent part of the fandom, even if it seems to be getting better

People don't like to acknowledge how the idea of a "family dynamic" is an extremely common abuse tactic because that would bring up how weird their writing is and how weird they interact with their underage fans.

it would also acknowledge how weird the Wilbur and Tommy relationship got (especially in 2021), even if that isn't to the same extent of the widespread normalization of fetish materials in a fandom full of vulnerable, lonely teenagers

• Eddie has a cat that he picked up off the street and took in.

• He owns his own atelier and has no problems with money.

• Keeps himself fit and goes to the gym regularly, but also he smokes!!!

• He is generally happy

How do you think Eddie Gluskin would react/act if his ‘darling’ ended up having a baby, or if they already had a kid beforehand

If I am being brutally honest, I don't think Eddie would know what to do with a baby. He'd sure as shit end up killing the mother, either by neglect, passion or by giving him a child that his unrealistic expectations couldn't match.

He's got that whole Madonna-whore complex shit thing going for him, so it could even be that he murders his paramour shortly after 'consummating' their relationship, deeming her too sullied to carry his child after spreading her legs. He's quite the charming, manic hypocrite, isn't he?! XD

That being said, I could see him butchering his baby's mother, then doing his best to raise the child, though I am not sure how well that'd go for him... or the baby, TBH.

Heyyy, guess what, a professor who's also a Catholic priest told us during a lecture that a LOT of Catholic priests have a long-term partner, sex included, and that they simply keep it a secret. And yeah obviously it was certain that some priests do have a secret partner but I didn't imagine the percentage to be so fucking high??

Oh also about 30 % (in my country at least) of Catholic priests are gay

Richard Sipe, who was a former priest himself and wrote several books on the abuse crisis and the Catholic priesthood, said about as much in his research. The numbers he gave was a fairly solid 50/50 between priests who consistently and intentionally practice celibacy and those who straight up just don't try. Priests fathering children has also been a problem for decades at this point and the Church still refuses to acknowledge that many of their priests are, not only sexually active and have long term romantic partners, but those same priests often have children.

I received this ask recently but I’ve opted to censor the name to avoid kicking up harassment. The information and trends in the ask are the part I’m going to focus on. I haven’t edited it anywhere else. (CW: Grooming)

I want to throw in my perspective as someone who was heavily involved in the SBI writing scene and fanfiction scene starting in 2020 and following through 2022, and had several large, well-known fics A lot of these big SBI writers ship them behind the scenes. I've personally known at least five different people who were secretly writing porn of them on alt accounts, or in secret discord servers. There's been a few I've known who went mask-off on their main accounts and started uploading there throughout 2022 as well. If they haven't stopped writing them in the "infamous touchy" way by now, there's a very good chance they are also writing them fucking, or at very least known 1-2 who do and don't care anyone here recognize the name [X]? very popular sbi writer, still writes them, and is involved with a lot of people who still write sbi and massive writers in the dsmp/mcyt sphere. they also have a good friend who writes a bunch of disturbing sbi porn, has it in their public bookmarks, and has written fic for this person as well. it's not like they're trying to hide it at all, and they still have a foothold in the fandom it's part of the reason I left the fandom, since I was a minor and these authors did not care how old you were. they have a very heavy fixation on tommy being young, pilant and vulnerable - it's a fetish to a lot of them. i wouldn't be shocked if other kids I knew in these circles were being groomed through this content. I knew a few who were, but I couldn't do anything about it this is a very heavy ask to be sending, but I think it's important to be upfront about. Predatory adults like to "hide" fetish content so they can lure and trick kids into thinking grooming is normal, or "cute," or "familial." They especially like to trick kids who are upfront about having a bad family or no support system, who seek out this content since they are in love with the idea of having a close, interpersonal bond with someone of that capacity (being someone's #1 - This is how you can pinpoint the ones who will develop BPD!) adults do not have to be outwardly sexual to have nefarious intents. Be careful of any adult who tries to hard to push a possessive, "familial" dynamic onto you. Be wary of the people you interact with in fandom! not everyone has good intentions

This is somewhere between what I expected and what I was afraid of, thank you for sending this in.

I was/am still willing to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to 'platonic' fic depending on the person, but it makes a lot of sense that some people had that duality to them. I had heard that things had been passed around in secret but more in the context of things like schlattbur—this adds another level to it, but still tracks.  

The worst case scenario for pushing the family dynamic as perfectly normal has always been making vulnerable people fall into vulnerable situations, and it sounds like that’s happened. The forced innocence of the space has always been a bit uncanny, and I was afraid of what it would cause people to overlook or even romanticise because that headspace is so delicate and easy to take advantage of. Even now I think I’m seeing snips of people being egged on (even guilted) to participate in ‘family dynamic’ content that they don’t fully understand the implications of, or are either motivated or trained to be in active denial about.

Again, thank you for writing in because it sounds like a lot has happened that would be easy to miss if the situation was taken at face value.

God I HATE the outlast fandom in reddit, asking to not use outlast 1 plot nor use any of the iconic characters....so....what's the point then???? We want to see Chris, Eddie Gluskin on screen! SHUT UP!!

I also want to see Outlast 1 & DLC on the big screen, it will be so iconic if they use the original story from those parts of the games and can pick a good cast of actors. The atmosphere of part 1 is incredible, the theme with the abandoned asylum where human experiments were conducted is very frightening and perfect for a horror movie. So I wouldn't want them to come up with something new that isn't in the games

Oh gosh this is a great one and it really depends? I am a very gogogo type of person and sitting still isn't necessarily the thing I'm best at. Sometimes if I take my morning too slow and relaxing I feel like I've wasted the entire day. Other times I so really enjoy it though, I wake up super early for work / to see Pop so it is nice to sleep in and like enjoy coffee sometimes. But on the other hand the older I get the more I'm like WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANNA GO OUT PAST 8PM and there is something about being all cozy in my home when it's dark out. So I guess my answer is both depending on the situation.

Instead of my all time favorite book, because I truly don't think I can answer that one, I will be answering my favorite book of 2024 so far which is Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo.
