Where do you get your short pile fur type fabric for plushies? I've never been able to fond a decent place that doesn't make you buy like 20 yards at a time.

Which one specifically? I'm in the UK so that's where most of my suppliers are. The printed stuff is called "Short Velvet" and I get it printed through a company called Woven Monkey. The faux fur I use is from Mohair Bear Making Supplies, Swincraft2 on Ebay, and Linda's Wholesale on Aliexpress and this one specific website for 10mm faux fur (I don't recommend the black but the others are nice). I've also just collected a bunch over the years. For Short Minky I recommend Hopen on Aliexpress!

I'm on the hunt to finally own a collection of the Young Wizards Series. What's the best way for me to buy your books that benefits you the most?

In that respect, the best place to get them is Ebooks Direct... since, when money from a book sale comes in there, I keep the whole proceeds rather than having to donate a percentage to anybody's platform. (Not that the store platform itself and the credit card processor don't charge for sales... but to me, at least, the amount in question is acceptable.)

The ebook package linked to above (you can see the covers below) contains the first nine novels. For the tenth one, Games Wizards Play, you'll need to buy either the physical book (in hardcover or paperrback) or the ebook version from its traditional publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Where do you buy your artbooks for your archival work?

I bought the official artbooks of Hiroo Isono, and I'd love to be able to buy similar artbooks for Mutsumi Inomata and Naoko Takeuchi! But even for Isono, it took a lot of googling Japanese and hoping for the best. Even ignoring the proxy process, it was still frustrating at times.

The sites I use by far the most for artbooks/manga are:

Yahoo Auctions Japan

Surugaya

Amazon Japan (especially great for new releases, as Amazon Japan has an international shipping program for many products/countries and they'll ship it directly to you)

Mercari Japan

These sites are amazing resources and have a huge array of products. If something's not listed on one of these four sites, I honestly doubt it's available anywhere online- or at the very least, easily available.

As for proxies, I recommend Buyee for Yahoo Auctions Japan and Japan Rabbit for everything else! Those are just the proxies I have the most experience with.

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention Mandarake as an option to buy manga and books from! I don't use it as often, but it's great because it has an English-language site (click "Earth" on the home screen) and they ship directly to many countries. Mandarake is especially great for buying figures, plushies, and other merch.

Please support the mangaka if you are able by purchasing physicals and voicing your support for the work where you can.

How do I support something when I can't even get it?

It can take a little work. Ask your local bookstore to stock Yakuza Fiance: Raise Wa Tanin Ga Ii, special order the manga where possible (bookstores pay attention to enthusiastic fans who place special orders), put in requests on websites, reach out to your local manga publishing companies.

Kinokuniya is a Japanese bookseller with locations in 12 countries (includes the UK, southeast Asia, Australia, and the US). They carry Japanese and licensed English volumes. Pre-orders can sometimes come with a premium like an art sketch. Click for locations worldwide. They ship!

Secondhand volumes are available on Walmart's site, Thriftbooks, and Alibris. They are also available from various eBay sellers.

While you're at it, consider getting a copy of Konishi's first work, Haru no Noroi (or Haru's Curse) It's a great story and a heartstring-tugging read.

Digital

For Japanese: Click on the bold underlined text links and enable your browser to translate. If you are using Chrome there is a free translation extension in the Microsoft store.

For a monthly manga subscription: Kodansha Afternoon has a really nice monthly magazine which includes Raise and other manga.

For single chapters: Kodansha has the COMIC DAYS site. New members get 100 coins to start-- each chapter is between 60 and 80 coins. Chapter 1 is free and more recent chapters are free for a short time a few months after their release.

For ENG (US only):

For single chapters: Kodansha's app K MANGA. One of our friends on the RWTGI fandom Discord tested it and you can get the first 9 chapters for free, another 3 for free around 13-14, and every month or so they unlock another chapter. For $1 you get 99 tickets to 'rent' a chapter (like you own it but you can only read it on the app, isn't Digital Rights Management fun?), you can also 'earn' tickets each time you log in, and currently they have a promotion going.

They’re actually cheaper than what I was expecting, considering that the Rainbow High dolls are 949 pesos at the cheapest (About 48-ish dollars), these ones are 38-ish, which yes, is expensive, but again, not that expensive for us. The budgets are the equivalent of about 17-ish dollars, so I’m sorry random little girl I will fight to buy them.

I have learned from past “mistakes” and if I can’t buy them all at once, I’m getting at least Draculaura first, as she always used to sold out in G1. ALWAYS.

I just don’t understand Amazon’s pricing. I just found my Blood Ties (Paperback RRP AU$16.99/US$11.99) on Amazon AU for $46.55! Holy sh***! Please note I have absolutely no say in how Amazon prices my books (which they source from Ingram Spark or Draft2Digital.

For comparison, Booktopia is selling it for AU$20.56.

I know bookshops need a markup, but Amazon’s price is over twice the RRP – and I don’t see a cent more!

And the current eBook price (RRP US$1.99) is AU$4.39!

  I’ve heard similar stories from other indie authors, especially for books published this year.

All the books in my website shop have a ‘universal link‘ for online bookstores they are available to purchase. So, please, when you’re buying a book, shop around. And remember, the author doesn’t get paid any more just because the price is jacked up!

What are the figures of usagi sitting on the moon? (Like what are they called so I can get them I love the aesthetic) ;;;

I know, they're so pretty!! The one of regular Sailor Moon sitting on moon is a prize figure (prize A specifically) from the 20th Anniversary Ichiban Kuji line; they were given out as a lottery, not as preordered figures, so the only way you can get one is to buy it secondhand on Yahoo Japan Auctions, eBay, etc. I also know there are bootlegs available but I can't vouch for their quality, mine is authentic and I got it on Yahoo Japan Auctions for a really good price years ago. You'll have to do some digging to find this one, although I did find some listings on eBay (kinda expensive tho, you might be better off trying to find a listing on Yahoo Auctions Japan and using a proxy).

The figure of Super Sailor Moon is from the Bandai Spirits Figuarts Zero Chouette line and can currently be bought from a number of Western retailers, including Amazon, BigBadToyStore, and Crunchyroll. It's a pricey figure, around $85, but it's so well-made and looks gorgeous on my shelf!

I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.

What a global strike would look like is:

calling in sick to work

purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can

putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!

For those who will have to purchase necessary goods during this time, please observe the brands that the BDS movement is asking us to boycott!
