re: that other anon asking why people think roier doesn't live cellbit: I've noticed that at least the parts of this fandom I run in, monogamy is *really* the norm. Like, multishipping or even polyships just... aren't really considered. It's just "these two are in romantic love and therefore Cannot romantically love anyone else." And sure, jaiden and roier are platonically married but cellbit and roier aren't allowed to Romantically Love anyone else, I guess.

Also there's a huge focus on canon and an unwillingness to engage with ships or dynamics outside of canon which is kinda disappointing imo. It could just be that I need to branch out and curate my fandom experience a little more but... yeah.

I understand what you’re saying, but I think the main backlash against all these new and fancy Roier Ships is that a lot of people legit see qRoier as a shipping tool. This goes all the way back to Spiderbear in March/April: people limited Roier down to his romantic intents with Spreen, and they ignored Jaiden. And then it happened again with Bad and Roier, people were only ever interested in their potential romantic relationship and not their blossoming friendship. And now it’s happening now with Etoiles with people saying “Well, Roier never loved Cellbit, anyway.” or “Cellbit’s dead, so now Roier can get with Etoiles!” rather than looking at their friendship as of currently exists and acknowledging Roier’s real legitimate grief over his missing husband

With Spiderbit, everybody tried so hard not to ship Roier and Cellbit in the beginning because everybody already knew Roier’s reputation for being the Ship Guy. The only reason he’s as popular on ao3 as he is is because of ships, not because of his actual character. And now that it’s been a while since Spiderbit happened, there’s actually a bit of a backlash to talking about Roier in terms of his relationship with Cellbit because of this whole Ship Guy Thing

The argument isn’t because nobody likes polyamory, it’s because qRoier fans are sick and tired of his entire character being erased so he can be shipped with whichever friend he flirts with that week. It’s been over half a year of this, and it’s only gotten worse since Purgatory’s start

biiiit of both? i know very concretely where i want a fic to start & end, i know the general placement of a few important scenes throughout the fic, and then i have Loose outlines about how each chapter will get me there. but mostly i write as i go; i just have an idea of the endpoint so i don’t wander off into the wilderness (drive my outline wildly off course)

well since playing bg3 it’s: become haunted by an idea involving raphael baldursgate, say oh my god no i haven’t even written any of my current wips in months i don’t have time, and then blacking out with 6k of porn that’s somehow not even close to done on my google docs. and this repeats forever

context dependent. if i ask for it, yeah. unprompted in comments, nah. people are much better about this than they used to be, which is funny because i’m less bothered now than i used to be. baby fic author sarah was haunted by concrit; current me is like yeah critique is the only way to improve but i am writing this for funnnn so leaf me alone

vibessss. whoever i wanna write more in the moment unless the specific scene only works from one perspective. this is why talk is getting a sequel (threequel. i guess. bc i’m also doing the two-part “endings”) which is just the same fic but from raphael pov bc i want to write him now

FOR ME show don’t tell works. because i treat it as a mantra to make sure i’m showing what i’m telling, since my (unedited) writing style is just. so direct. my characters are introspective and love to think “i am doing x because y which results in z” and that’s fun but sometimes less is more. but also i think it’s a tip that’s oft misused and not always helpful hence the For Me

17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)

i simply do something else 👍 i am past the point of forcing words out of myself. i wrote a 40 page paper in one night bc i procrastinated so badly in my senior year of college and i don’t want to return to the mental state that invoked in me. especially not for Fanfiction, my Hobby

post-canon, fluff, and alternate universe - canon divergence are the main three; i should note that these are largely one-off fics under 2k i wrote half a decade ago, and most of my fics now are messy longfics with a lot of smut. the canon divergence one is still real though

🗣️ if you’re stuck, go back three sentences!!! oh my GOD did this save my editing process. the fact i finish editing chapters ever is due to this. also write what you want to write when you want to write it; if you’re writing for a self-imposed deadline or entitled commenters, the fun’s gonna get sucked out of it Fast.

also if you get someone who makes a Lot of fic requests that brush veryyyy close to what you’re not comfortable taking just block them. it’s fine. protect your peace

finish draft. take a full day away from it. reread. fix mistakes. i absolutely Should do more—reading aloud, probably make comments to myself and then go back—but tbh. i am impatient. i want to Post and see people’s Thoughts right away

used to be characters and a Vibe and the plot would come after, now plots complete with characters and themes attack me in the night until a new outline appears in my google docs. i blame raphael

“okay so this chapter should end at this scene :) oh god why is this other scene getting so long. ah fuck this is already 6k words and i’m not halfway through my plans. oh jesus christ wait a second it’s incredibly self-indulgent additional scene with the steel chair!!” and then i keep writing until i hit whatever is in my outline. don’t do this. you can change your chapter count. i am inflexibly stubborn but everyone else can and should do that. or just don’t commit to a chapter count at first. don’t be like me

I LOVE REREADING FICS !!! i guarantee every single fic i recommended above i have reread at least a dozen times times, and i think all three of them came out this year. one i discovered a momth ago. i have some fics i have reread Hundreds of times. i Love to reread fics

43. Do you take a sadistic joy in whumping your characters, or are you more the "If you hurt them I would kill everyone and then myself" kind of person?

How 911 7x04 supports four different readings

A long term, a short term, a canon and a subtextual one and all of them are valid

Just as a short reminder. In 7x03 Buck meets Tommy for the first time and instantly smitten by the cool hot pilot. Turns out the hot pilot and his best friend are best buddies. Buck feels left behind. So 7x04 lets us believe he tries everything to get Eddies attention. Turns out, he actually wanted Tommys attention. So, thats the narrative we are working with

Canon and short term narrative

So on a canon level we have Buck meets a cute pilot, tries everything to get his attention, breaks his best friend foot, gets rewarded with a kiss, a boyfriend and a coming out. A clear BuckTommy narrative.

Long Term narrative

And now it gets compliacted. Is Bucktommy a long term option? Is this a) "we see you read Buck as queer AND you ship Eddie and Buck... but the network says "no" to canon Buddie, but "yes" to bi Buck, so we give you everything we can"? We saw similar things in The Witcher for example, where people read Jaskier as pan and in love with Geralt and season 3 made really clear: "Yes he is pan, but we will never make Geraskier canon. BUt here: Jaskier now has a boyfriend."

Which btw doesn't make the queer coming out arc and the queer relationship less important or valid. I think the storytelling couldn't be more clear how much it cares for BuckTommy.

So what of those two options is Tommy? Someone to make the pining even longer? Or a compromise because canon Buddie is not possible?

If you see it from a long term POV this whole "i try to get your attention" could have second level... which eventually could be about Buddie again. From a long term POV. As in: "I wanted Tommys attention because I really liked him and because he helped me realize my true feelings... and I realized I could never have your attention." something like that.

What I want to say is: 7:04 is written in a way that the canon narrative we have today can be changed easily later without destrorying the legacy it has: canon bi Buck. Or it will be forever a Bucktommy ep... which is also amazing! (I am here for both ships! Multishipping yay!)

It is so so hard to tell and I want all your opinions in my inbox. Is Tommy a plot device that leads to canon Buddie or here to stay? Keep in mind this show could go on for ten more seasons...

If MGS is here to stay, can I propose an introductory post/meta for the uninitiated? It's not like this bbkaz or vquiet don't have the potential for mass appeal...

Well anon, this ask gave me some trouble because every time I tried to answer I went off on a tangent because how do you explain the brainworms? The thing about Metal Gear is that it is a complex piece of media that deals with pretty heavy themes, such as the reasons and consequences of war, colonialism, the military industrial complex; existential questions like finding purpose in one’s life vs what has been allegedly predetermined by genetics and whatever path higher powers have carved for you, confronting your own mortality, the realities of aging and disability. It does things with video games as a medium that feel innovative to this day.

It is also, in many ways, a shonen anime, meant to be enjoyed and digested by teenage boys, so it actually has a lot of genuinely funny moments and some downright juvenile humor, and its treatment of women is… let’s say there is vast room for improvement (this is one of those tangents I could go on). Some writing choices are frustrating, because big character moments and plot points are tucked away in optional strands of the game you need to unlock, and not in the main storyline; sometimes they are downright hidden (Ocelot’s parentage!!!). Or they are brought up once and never addressed again (Otacon’s family trauma from MGS2). Whatever Naomi's deal was in MGS4. MGSV being unfinished! There are a lot of things that make it an objectively good piece of media and justify its place among the undisputed videogame classics, but there are also several things to criticize; I’m not going to pretend it’s perfect.

Still. It bewitched me body and soul and I think the reason is simply the characters, alongside the engrossing gaming experience (even if it was a bit of a struggle at first, MGS1’s commands are nightmarish if you are used to modern games). Never mind that the execution can be clunky at times, these characters just… strike a chord, design and personality wise, and inevitably make an impression. I mentioned design because, as an artist, that’s kind of important to me; one of the reasons I realized pretty early on that I was getting into some long term commitment with this series was that I wanted to draw those pixel guys all the time, and it hasn’t happened to me since… well, getting into asoiaf way back in the day. Let's not even begin with the amount of fic writing I've done alongside the fanart

Shipping talk behind the cut.

So: the high grade yaoi cocaine. Anon, if you’ve been following me for some time you might have probably noticed that I wasn't always about the fujo life. I understood it intellectually but I also spent about two decades in fandom feeling immune to that specific kind of brainrot. Then I played the computer room scene in MGS1 and hearing Gray Fox wantonly ask Snake to hurt him was my MK Ultra activation code, I guess. This is another part where I could go off on a tangent on just how gay these games are (starting from like. Canon queer characters) but I’ll keep it short. Let’s say that every time I heard people talking about how gay a certain thing in the games was I was like “okay, these are the fujo goggles speaking”. Then I actually played/watched/listened to the thing (two words: sauna tape) and yeah. It was ALWAYS gayer than I imagined.

(reddit bros will tell you that many of those instances are meant to be jokes, but truly they pile up so much that they start sounding like the “hahaha… unless???” kind of joke. And there IS a mission where the literal objective is to make Big Boss woo his second in command so he can have gay sex with him. I’m not exaggerating.)

So… yeah. There are actually a lot of ships to choose from (or not choose and live that multiship life), and the unevenness in writing that I pointed at is exactly the right amount to make these games a fertile fandom sandbox. And to answer your question, personally I go hard for bbkaz because Kaz has quickly become my favorite character in the series, but there’s no Kaz without his relationship with Big Boss. The tragedy of their enemies (very briefly, but they literally meet with an attempt at murder-suicide) to lovers to enemies again arc is very compelling to me; the mutual betrayals; the unstoppable force (Kaz) vs immovable object (BB) of it all; and yes even the aesthetics of it (shiny well groomed hypersexual extroverted beach Barbie coded in yellow and gold vs hairy weathered gruff jungle man who’s all greens and dark tones). I just think that’s neat!

Vquiet is a bit more difficult to explain because they literally never talk. Quiet is canonically mute save for two isolated instances and Venom barely talks because Kiefer Sutherland was too expensive to hire for more line readings (but honestly it’s one of those contingent things that ends up being consistent with who Venom is). Also, on paper, Quiet would be the epitome of this franchise’s worst tendencies when it comes to female characters: she doesn’t talk, she’s mostly naked and posing sexily a lot of the time, she gets subjected pretty gratuitously to sexual violence at the end of her arc. But the stars aligned so that she has a charisma and gravitas about her that, combined with her backstory, elevate her to a very compelling character TO ME. She and V get romantically coded scenes like BRIDAL CARRY and PLAYING TOGETHER IN THE RAIN WITH ROMANTIC MUSIC and she gifts him the cigars Kaz won’t let him smoke for his BIRTHDAY like… I think she and V are effectively written as aggressively yearning for each other, and I like the reading that Kaz is so immediately hostile to her also because he’s jealous and he doesn’t know that SPOILER BIG SPOILER JUMP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH AFTER THE PICTURES IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR THE BIG TWIST OF PHANTOM PAIN Venom isn’t the real Big Boss.

Plus they’re just sexy together I think

What's your favorite ship? FitoxMarcelo, EduardoxMarcelo or DanielxMarcelo (Daniel Fernández)? 👀👀👀

This answer isn't going to surprise anyone, but Fito/Marcelo.

My interactions with fanfic (both as a reader and a writer) is based primarily on the fictional versions of the individuals that we see in the LSDLN film (if you've ever been a part of either Band of Brothers or The Terror fandoms then you get it). So it's a bit complicated wherein yes, the more you read from other sources or learn more about the real events that make up the story and the real individuals (versus their fictional selves) that can definitely start to shape and inform things. Which is to say that LSDLN leans hard into meaningful looks between Fito and Marcelo and while it's probably primarily because Fito's role was arguably elevated to one of the lead characters (alongside Nando, Roberto, and Numa), I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Everyone involved knew exactly what they were doing.

Which is basically my defence whenever someone tells me "But Marcelo and Eduardo were best friends so that's the ship that makes more sense!" As if multishipping isn't a thing.

That is to say I think that the way the Strauches were written in the film (as a single character split into three parts) makes them all shippable with Marcelo especially because if you stop and think about how the three of them formed the leadership group after Marcelo's death they all kind of embody different aspects of Marcelo's leadership and I think that's a really interesting idea to explore.

Daniel/Marcelo: Everything I've read about Daniel as well as the way he's portrayed in the film, he and Marcelo were essentially polar opposites in terms of personality but not necessarily in a way that would be incompatible. I think there's a lot of potential to explore in terms of the responsibility both of them were very aware of having to weather - Marcelo being the team captain and the one who primarily organized the trip, and Daniel because he was the oldest of the survivors (aside from the Methols). To be honest, though, I've not really gotten into it very much? There was a fic once on AO3 that had some potential, but I think the author abandoned it after only a couple chapters, so in terms of pairings, I'm kind of still waiting to be sold on it.

Eduardo/Marcelo: If your favourite trope is childhood friends to lovers, then this is the ultimate pairing. Personally, I'm into it more as a platonic pairing, I think because writing it as a straightforward romance feels too much like I'm retreading an identical pairing from the Dragon Age fandom and I guess I just was looking for something different for a change? There also isn't a lot of film content to take from because of how little screentime Eduardo gets so most of the pairing content has to come from the books and memoirs and... I don't know, my feelings about it are strange and complicated and difficult to put into words. I think that their friendship was incredibly special and precious and because of that, I think that personally I prefer to write them as friends and explore the deep meaning of that connection. Though I admit I do sometimes kind of straddle the line with it, but I think I might even like it as one-sided or unrequited thanks to a fic I read once.

Fito/Marcelo: Okay, longing looks in the film aside, I think what drew me to this pairing initially is that Fito's someone who is always quietly observing people in a way that feels like he's trying to see deep into their core. And I feel like my observations about him were confirmed when he addressed Marcelo directly in his chapter of SotS (which surprised me!). Something I find interesting is that in his memoir, Eduardo talks about the change in Marcelo and the way he seemed to fall apart and how he saw the change in his friend and the way he was suffering but couldn't understand what had caused the change and therefore didn't know how to fix it. A friend of mine described Eduardo as being too close to Marcelo and while that meant he understood him probably better than anyone else, he also had a blindspot for him at the same time. Eduardo is so close he can't see the forest through the trees. While Fito had a little bit of distance and seems to have seen and understood or at least come to his own conclusion as to what was at the heart of Marcelo's despair on the mountain. I think they make very good foils for each other with Fito being the youngest of the three cousins but arguably taking on the most responsibility after Marcelo starts to wane as the leader. And he does it without any real complaint or resentment. So many times in the movie, you can tell from his expression that he disagrees with Marcelo's belief in rescue, but he never openly argues with him. It drives me crazy in the best way because to me it shows how much Fito understands the need for co-operation and that open argument and dissent is dangerous. With everything Marcelo went through and with everything he had to shoulder, I feel like Fito is the one who saw it and understood it the most.

(At the end of the day, though, the real answer is that Fito/Marcelo/Eduardo is a complicated OT3.)

We all know I have issues with certain writing decisions on the show, but I wouldn't have fallen in love with Negan as a character if not for the show's canon (he's the reason I decided to read the comics, if I hadn't liked him on the show I may have never read them), so I overall can't complain too much. I love the journey Negan goes on throughout the series.

I think canon divergence is inevitable in RP. Unless you stick strictly to canon events and canon dialogue without writing anything new, you're eventually going to canon diverge in some way, even if just a little. So I think it's fine. The only times I personally dislike it is when 1. their personality is changed so much that they're no longer recognizable, or 2. they're canon divergent in a way that directly affects other characters' storylines too, and the mun doesn't state this anywhere on their blog, so muns writing those other characters aren't able to know ahead of time.

Crossovers can be fun! I used to do them a lot more when I was newer to RP, nowadays I'm more picky about it. There's honestly so many characters from other fandoms I'd love to interact with, but I'm not comfortable crossing my muse over into other fandoms unless I know the fandom really well and can figure out a good way to fit him into the story, but I always welcome others to bring their muse into the twd universe (but I still likely won't interact if I don't know the fandom their muse is from.)

I'm not even sure what the most popular ship for Negan is anymore. I see Negan/Maggie, Negan/Rick, and Negan/Lucille a lot, those are probably the main ones. I love the latter two, I'm not as fond of the first one but I still see the appeal. There's another ship that I've seen a lot, but it makes me really uncomfortable so I'd rather not talk about it.

I think crack ships are fun, but idk if the meaning has changed over time? I've always understood crack ships to be ships that are super out there, ridiculous/funny, and/or technically impossible, like shipping characters from two different series. But nowadays I see people defining it as like... any ship considered unlikely. I've also never personally viewed "crack ship" as a negative term. Honestly I kind of miss when people would ship the wildest things just for fun lol.

I like multishipping, whether in RP or just fandom in general. Sometimes there'll be a ship I think just makes sense and I can't imagine those characters with anyone else, but I still love seeing what ideas other people have. And in RP, I'll never be single ship again, I had too many bad experiences with it. Multishipping just makes things easier and leaves room for more writing opportunities and exploration in my opinion.

Selectivity is perfectly okay. Every roleplayer is selective in some way, no one is going to want to RP with every single person out there. We all have our preferences, boundaries, and finite time to RP, and it's important we respect that.

sometimes i think one of the ways i generally avoid shipping discourse or ship wars within fandoms is mostly by being a multishipper

you can ship these characters with anyone! i don't have to always like it, though there are many pairings and throuples, and polycules i enjoy a lot, but also there are ones i don't always enjoy or like, and... it's fine!

if it makes someone else happy or it entertains them, then that's a fine and okay ship! I DO NOT ATTACH MORALITY TO SHIPPING BECAUSE A MAJOR PART OF IT IS ENTERTAINMENT.

I had a wild time in college discussing crack pairings and strange ship ideas with friends, and it was specifically because it was entertaining to think about, and not because we had any serious attachment to whether these characters "ought to be together" or something. I have shipping goggles and have used them for good, and warned a friend about their writing, "you better watch out, this sounds like an implied ship that you REALLY ARE NOT INTENDING," before.

Anyway, back then, I didn't even ship in hopes that a ship ought to be canon, as much of the fun was ships and pairings not being canon at all. Then, we could break other rules about how that would go, without any expectation that the author would actually put these characters from two different left fields together, AND IT WAS FUN.

The blessed thing about being a multishipper is also that I, implicitly, am fine with not shipping a given character to another, either. lIKE, "Oh, you don't actually ship Sherlock Holmes with anyone because you consider him aroace? Go ahead!!!!"

Heck, you don't even have to come out and defend your ships with me. This is a no-judgement zone. Yeah, some stuff miGht make me uncomfortable, but there's been plenty of characters I don't ship, and other character ships that I don't want to ship, but I see the kernel of why they get shipped, and I'm like, "dang, you're having a good time over there".

I am not even annoyed about shipping in general, I am old and tired. I have lived through the flame wars of the early 2000s internet and have been aware of even older ones of times past. It's fine. I don't mess with it.

This was supposed to be a really short post, but then it got out of hand.

Much of the thrill of shipping is first the entertainment of it, and then the rest is the romance and the character exploration. Heck, I have seen ace pairings before, and you know what? That's the coolest thing ever!

I get why some people don't want to see specific ships tagged with their art: it is very tiring if you have a strong aversion to a certain specific ship, or just find its fans annoying, or just dislike a certain type of ship, and so on. That's fine!!!

I'm not one of those people, I actually like discovering new ships, lol. But, there is nothing wrong with traversing fandom on your own terms! And ,if that means blocking ships you don't wanna see, or putting a "please don't tag" in the text, then that's all OK, too!

I would say that shipping is a part of fandom, it's been there for a long time! And while I so strongly" wish it could be wholly fun again", I know that it wasn't always fun even in the past, either. The flame wars existed back then, and they will continue, too.

But shipping isn't the only way to play with a story or tis characters, and not shipping characters is great, too!

I am always down to see more about characters that aren't romantically or sexually with each other, too!

TL;DR, hi I am a multishipper, and I like shipping in general, because it's fun. Even the ships I think are uncomfy, or ones I don't really jibe with, well: someone else likes it, and I'm not them, so that's OK! You can ship characters and you can not ship characters. All of that is fine! I think multishipping includes choosing not to have a pairing, and that is good, too.

This post is not about when people "take it too far". You gotta learn to make your own boundaries and make use of working within your own boundaries too. I promise you, teenagers have been joking about boy band members dating each other since probably forever. 90% of the time or something, it's not actually that gross, people just do this for fun. People generally start shipping characters (or people, lol) primarily because it's fun.

A bit of a cheating answer, I don't really get pissed off at pairings, people should be allowed to write what they want, that's what fanfiction is for. Instead I get so frustrated that Naruto/Female Characters is basically dead outside of Naruto/Hinata (which I really liked mind you!) and dudes writing the most basic cookie cutter harem characterizations, especially for smut/romance. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places (basically just AO3 lol) but god damn I feel like I'm carrying so many Naruto Uzumaki smut pairings on my back, like why me?! Cough, sorry about that tangent.

   I actually do write a sigma & chuuya ship on this blog!  (Tho ofc multiship here!) Which is rather funny because we started it way back in either late 2019 or early 2020 way before we ever got any canon potential of interaction. I really do enjoy the ship because I love both characters a lot and they both deserve better than what life has given them. Honestly I think they respond very well to each other in terms of love languages and making sure they both feel appreciated and loved. They can cover for areas where the other is weaker in, and both are extremely loyal. It’s something I think that they both need and deserve to have, that safety of knowing the other person cares about them and that they’ll express it. I think its a very sweet ship and I do enjoy it a lot. There’s also the aspect of Chuuya being in the Mafia and Sigma in the Decay, they’ve both killed and aren’t horrified by it. Albeit Sigma keeps his alliance under wraps till it’s forced out which is some good angst right there, but I do think they’d be able to overcome that bit.  There’s some very cute art of them out there that I absolutely adore.

Sigma and Dazai, I personally don’t see it. Not that I hate it, and people are free to ship what they want! But it really isn’t my cup of tea. Granted, depending on portrayal, maybe it could happen. But I can explain a little bit here. Sigma KNOWS Dazai is manipulative and dangerous. You have to remember that Sigma went right from his enslavement into the Decay of Angels. He’s learned about the Agency, the Guild, the Port Mafia, etc. from them as well as his own observations and files. He knows to be on guard around Dazai. There’s parallels between Dazai and Fyodor, yes. But Fyodor is different in that he’s treated Sigma like a person at his lowest time and kept his deal, two very important aspects to Sigma, and two things no one had done with Sigma at the point he met Fyodor. Sigma has no reason to trust Dazai; he’s FORCED into the current scenario in the manga. Then there’s the fact Sigma does know Dazai ditched Chuuya (tho not the reasons so to him it looks like he just abandoned his partner) and that would reinforce the whole thing Sigma talks about with being used and discarded. Because if Chuuya was, why wouldn’t he be? At least that’s my personal take on it, but again, no hate to those who do!

First of all, he distinguished her among other residents during his mentorship years:

Hannibal: Most psychology departments are filled with personality deficients. Dr. Bloom would be the exception. […] I learned as much from her as she did from me.

She definitely piqued his interest, and I really want to know more about their shared past (I bet she’d had a crush on him for years, because, well, who wouldn’t).

Judging from their interactions throughout the first season they were on quite familiar terms with each other.

Hannibal: Do you have an appointment?

Alana: Do you have a beer?

I think one of the qualities that Hannibal liked Alana for was her fierceness (which she reasonably showed when provoked).

Alana: As someone who makes such a big deal about common courtesy, I’m a little taken aback. Slash a lot taken aback, that you would take my patient… my patient! Out of the hospital without my permission. And I’m not a professional scold… but don’t put me in this position ever again.

Hannibal: I’m sorry.

Alana: Rude! Hannibal shockingly rude!

Hannibal: You have every right to be upset with me. I overstepped my bounds.

Hannibal went out of his way to brew beer suited to her taste (albeit full-bodied beer, if you catch my meaning, lol). Why would he do something like that for someone he didn’t care about? Yes, it was his hobby, but still you have to agree he went overboard with it (his peacocky nature is to blame for sure).

Alana: Serving this at your dinner party?

Hannibal: No. This is your reserve.

Alana: My own private reserve? Thank you.

And what was all this flirting for?

Hannibal: You realize those candidates thought we were having an affair. Why didn’t we?

Alana: You were already having an affair.

In the second season, Hannibal’s mind was occupied with Will, and other characters (including Alana) were mostly just a means to a desired end, but, again, that doesn’t mean he didn’t cherished what he had between himself and those in his orbit whom he’d found to be “tasteful” enough to socialize and mingle with.

These are just some bits that I remembered. I haven’t rewatched this series in ages, so I might’ve missed something. Anyway, I liked Hannibal and Alana as an item only in the first season. The same I felt about her and Will. The first season had so much potential in terms of multishipping. I miss those times.

A fic writer in my fandom is being called an anti and badmouthed in a Discord channel, with people being encouraged on the downlow not to comment/reblog/kudo/like her stuff. I actually like her work because she does canon compliant fics while the fandom is oversaturated with AUs and it scratches my itch. So I was like, "damn, how disappointing, I follow her tumblr and subscribe to her AO3 and haven't seen anti stuff from her, where did she hide that?" only to be told that she is an anti because she doesn't multiship, blocks people who ship her NOTP and said she doesn't consider herself a proshipper because she finds the term too vague and prone to being interpreted differently based on which group is using it. I literally went @_@ when I saw that. Paraphrasing the convo that followed, I asked to clarify: "So she doesn't harass people, send death threats or advocate for a content she doesn't like to be removed completely?" And the answer I got, paraphrased: "Well, no, but she blocks people over what they ship and doesn't want to call herself a proshipper. And she's a monoshipper, too. Antis are always obsessed with their ship and hate others." And at that point I left the conversation and the Discord server both and spent the past couple of hours leaving long comments on all of her fics, both on Tumblr and AO3. I'm sending this to you to vent so I can excise my negativity about the situation without it slipping into my comments to her. I hope that's okay.

Yea, thats shitty. I also block my notps and depending on the fandom or character, hate multishipping. I also dont directly discribe myself as a porshipper (im not highly active in fandom any more sobik hardly even a shipper at all at this point). The author is very clearly cultivating their own online experience so they can get the most enjoy ment out of it..... You know the thing so many proshippers advocate for. I think its awesome that you are giving her positivity, while also venting somewhere else so she only gets the good parts.

I'm sure most people dont live the whole "i think youre great unlike these other people" like personal if someone dislikes me i dont need people who do like me to bring it up everytime i get a compliment (kind of how a lot of trans advocating posts cant be positive without bring up how much better they are then terfs like yea, but i would like positivity without being reminded about how much certain other people hate me.)

The people in that server are being childish because someone they like wont make the content they want so they are lashing out. They apparently are struggling with the concept that not everything is for them, and instead of going out and looking for things they do enjoy they want to complain. Again childish an its so similar to anti behavior, im not calling them antis but again the same thing applies to antis and them here

Not everything is made for you and other people cultivating their online experience is not a slight on you. Get over yourself and let people use fiction how they want, you dont speak for everyone.

Next time he encounters said hot guy, they of course fight. Merlin is ourskilled and in trouble but this is what he thinks about
