the thing is that I’m trying to find hope in the wreckage & I can’t do it. I’m sorry. I’m going to continue to do my best to be a kind person & live a life that makes me happy on an individual level in terms of the people I surround myself with & the hobbies I choose. & if I see an opportunity to do good? I will. Of course.

but I can’t possibly look at the state of the world & the United States & believe there’s any hope whatsoever for a better future in any meaningful larger picture sense. so if I seem apathetic it’s because I have no other choice. all hope is like. actually lost. like for real. the majority of people in my country are actually unforgivably reprehensible to me but I still like. have bills to pay & a life to live. it’s weird.

I’m ok personally & just keeping on keeping on probably because I’ve felt pretty nihilistic about the world on a large scale for a long time but now more than ever I genuinely don’t believe in a better future. you want to talk about hope or positivity for the future? I can’t even imagine it.

anyway! that’s enough doom scrolling & thinking about how utterly beyond fucked the future is & how it’s so funny my mom wants grandkids because the future is actually fully hopeless & there is no better world for future generations.
