Which Banks Offer the Best Personal Loan Deals for Doctors & Medical Professionals?
Introduction
Medical professionals, including doctors, play a crucial role in society and often require financial support to expand their practice, invest in medical equipment, or manage personal expenses. Banks and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) recognize the financial needs of doctors and offer exclusive personal loan deals with special benefits, such as lower interest rates, higher loan amounts, and flexible repayment options.
If you are a doctor or a medical professional looking for the best personal loan, this guide will help you compare top banks and lenders that offer tailored loan solutions for healthcare professionals.

Setting up a private clinic or hospital

How to Choose the Best Personal Loan as a Doctor?
When selecting a personal loan, medical professionals should consider the following factors:
1. Interest Rate & Loan Amount
Choose a loan with the lowest interest rate to reduce the overall cost.
Ensure the loan amount is sufficient to meet your financial needs.
2. Loan Tenure & EMI Flexibility
Opt for a lender that provides longer tenure options to reduce EMI burden.
Look for step-up or flexible EMI options that adjust with income growth.
3. Processing Time & Documentation
Some banks offer instant loan approvals for doctors with pre-approved offers.
Minimal documentation is beneficial for quick disbursal.
4. Hidden Charges & Prepayment Options
Check for processing fees, foreclosure charges, and hidden costs.
Choose a lender that offers zero or minimal prepayment penalties.
Tips for Doctors to Get the Best Personal Loan Deal
Maintain a High Credit Score – A score above 750 increases approval chances and helps secure lower interest rates.
Compare Loan Offers – Use loan comparison tools to evaluate different lenders before applying.
Negotiate Interest Rates – If you have a strong financial profile, negotiate for better rates.
Consider NBFCs for Faster Approval – If banks take longer, NBFCs like Bajaj Finserv offer quick approvals.
Avoid Over-Borrowing – Borrow only what is necessary to prevent financial strain.
Final Verdict: Which Bank is Best for Doctors’ Personal Loans?
While all the banks listed above offer attractive personal loan deals for doctors, the best choice depends on individual financial needs, income level, and credit history.
✅ For High Loan Amounts & Clinic Expansion: Choose SBI Doctor Plus Loan (up to ₹5 crore). ✅ For Instant Approval & Minimal Documentation: Opt for HDFC or Bajaj Finserv. ✅ For Flexible EMI & Longer Tenure: Axis Bank provides better repayment options. ✅ For Lower Interest Rates: SBI & HDFC Bank offer competitive rates for medical professionals.
Doctors should compare multiple offers and choose a personal loan that best suits their financial requirements.

And they said I couldn't be a psychologist [COD x fem! Reader]
Tired of living with a family that genuinely thinks that being a psychologist is a wild ride to being poor and lonely? Got too many student loans to ever think that you will be able to repay them? Just join the army! Good company, great benefits and lots and lots of travel.
AO3
Characters featured in this chapter: Captain John Price This fanfic will contain incorrect use of psychology, my dead dreams of becoming a therapist instead of a journalist, basically a harem "The only girl on the team" plot and a reader who can't fight to save her life, literally. Each chapter will concentrate on one or few characters at the same time, I hope you will like it!

Allow Google to search for your location?
Fuck it, the government already know who you are, where you are exactly, and what you will do with this pretty wrecked mental state of mine, if I wouldn’t get an affirmative answer.
School Psychologists made a median salary of $62 000 in 202X.

💬💬💬
In highsight, perhaps, you should have stayed with the stripper option. Sure, it would be a lot more mentally draining, but at least you would make much more money out of the utter humiliation this work would promise to be every day. Military, on the other side of the spectrum, wasn’t really different from being a sex worker – you are still selling your body and mind, still have too much time in a dominantly male field, and will probably experience a lot more patriarchy sausage parties once you get there. The only thing that was different was the employer.
And tax benefits.
And health insurance.
And a special program for those who would like to receive an education after they are done killing people, but don’t want to pay more than 100 000 dollars for a diploma that would look good on exactly one photo on the wall and then would be forgotten by pursuing the career of a sandwich artist. Ah, oh no. Negative thinking again.
Jesus fucking – oh no, blasphemy, looking not good for your all-american goody-two-shoes portfolio – Christ, you have to get herself together – and at least somewhat presentable, even this would mean very little, considering the fact that for a woman in such masculine field, any signs of traditionally feminine things would be considered a bone thrown to a pack of wolves, but…no, no, no. You can’t have this new age psychology shit while she is on a mission…by being a new age psychologist, enlisted to the army just because you don't want to be a stripper, and too slow to become a good drug dealer.
Cynthia Cockburn once wrote an essay about women's role in maintaining patriarchy by joining the army. How a lot of females are helping salvage the old system, that has to be put down for good for a long time already – and how this system continuously throws them out, without even acknowledging their input.
You are wondering, if by applying your makeup right now, you are doing pretty much the same. Ah yes, a woman in a field dominated mostly by psychotic men! Let me just put on my brightest red lipstick, a short that will barely cover anything important and, of course, a pair of heels that would set anyone in the hearing range to a Vietnam flashback even if they never been in Vietnam to begin with. Oh no…is that a risky joke? PTSD is a serious matter, you know. You shouldn’t joke about flying helicopters and war flashbacks – not when the training for the military psychologist courses were so hard, that even you, with your pretty much good mental health, would have to check herself double time for any trauma that the instructor would leave with you.
Two weeks of torture for an opportunity to apply the blandest eyeshadow known to mankind, the pinkiest lipstick that barely holds any pigments – it’s not like you have money to splurge on something better even given the permission – and a mascara as clear as the mountains fresh air. God – oh no, blasphemy again, you really don’t want to get a good grade with all of these God-fearing old-fashioned men, aren’t you? – you really hated just how bland you look. You feel like one of these girls in your college – with tightest buns, cream sweaters and perfectly high-pitched laugh that would make them desirable for even blander college boys. Ah, how much you hated this place.
The military base, however, is far worse.
First, there are just too many people here. Second, everyone looks at you like you are some sort of ghost. Judging by your loosely hanging white doctor’s coat, they aren’t too far from the truth, but it still was weird. And finally, third – you are still not sure that your papers have been sent correctly, and this is even the right place.
Instructor – a terrible, horrible, horrendous woman – told you that there would be plenty of study material for you here. That with these people, writing your master’s or even doctorate would be a “ ‘king breeze, rookie, if they ain’t decide to eat ya first”. The males around you – and some women, of course, because the newest military recruitment made sure to include as many people as possible, providing everyone with the opportunity to kill people as much as they would want – doesn't sound quite as great material for your research.
And you are not going back to the fucking college.
She said that some Captain brought you here specifically – and that higher-ups made him do it, as he was dismissing any previous attempts of sending psychological help for any of his units. So this is going to be a classic conflict between a person and the government – and you, a useless specialist – are going to be stuck in the middle, as long as you don't get shot. Perfect, terrific, just a great fate for someone who got out of college after 4 years of destroying her own hopes and dreams in a giant cell of a US education system.
You haven’t even met the man before, and now you are sitting here, in the middle of nowhere on this gigantic base. Fighting with the fabric of your clothing – a nice buttoned shirt, nothing that could be considered a provocation from your side, and trying to breath as the reality of the situation is slowly thinking it.
Breathe in
You stuck here for only god knows how long – until you either will be dismissed, or decide to go away by your own choice. With people you know nothing about, and who probably doesn’t even want you here.
Breathe out
This is a perfect opportunity for you to write your Thesis – just pick one of these perfectly twisted specimens, and make his mental state even worse. Or better, if you would feel nice enough for such hard work.
Breathe in
Perhaps, it’s not so bad – only a few years of service, and you will be back in your education. The children and their easily molded minds are waiting for you to be their perfect school psychologist. With average salary of “fuck you and your savings too”.
Breathe out
Health insurance is nice. Would be even better with some dental insurance, but this is reserved only to soldiers. And you are…well, not a soldier, that is for sure.
Breathe in
– Greetings. I suggest you are the mental health expert?
…and, all of your neatly putted breathing schedule is fucked. Stupid army people and their stupid questions with such nice and deep voices that would make you think of deeply fucked up stuff any other day and…
– Oh, um, yes. A psychologist. And you are..?
– Captain Price. You have to work in my unit, but I figured out that just sending my men to get you would be too much on your first day.
– Thank you, I…I would rather greet them myself, that is. I kinda have to.
He frowned. Oh, great. A perfect example of stoic  fatherly type – the guy who is probably thinks of his soldiers as his kids, definitely don’t have a wife – alive one, at least – and slowly cooking himself alive in a pot full of misery, machism and “I don’t buy any of this mentally ill stuff”.
His mustaches are great though. And a hat.
– Do you really?
– Well, I don’t want to earn my paycheck for just sitting around. This would be nice though.
– In that case, higher-ups would put us both in trouble for this.
– Do you have anything for me to start working with? Like a personal file or…
– I’ll show you around.
– Oh. Okay.
He seems harmless enough. As much as one man wearing a full uniform with too many weapons and a tiny hat could be – but you still feel well protected while walking beside him. With this still hanging loose coat of yours – you’ll have to search for something more adjusted for your tiniest fucking height – you can feel everyone’s gazes on you. Jesus, you will have to work with this many people? Let’s just hope that no one here believes in magic powers of therapy, and you would be pretty much free for any of your working hours.
— But you do have personal files of your soldiers, right?
— I thought your people like more of a personal approach?
— Well, it would be really great, but I need some documents to write off my work and…
— Then you are going to write those documents, kid. I don’t want to scare you, but a young miss like you really wouldn’t want to see real portfolios of my men.
— Sir, with all honor, I am not a…
– We’re here.
Oh. Saving you the humiliation of being able to recognise patronizing tones and understanding, that you are, in fact, a kid, a young miss, and generally a useless fucking person. Psychologists in a place, where most of the people probably believe, that getting drunk will save them from nightmares? What a joke.
At least the office is nice.
Tidy place, neatly furnished room with a table, a sofa – something right out of Freud’s fantasies. A small empty closet for all three of your psychology books. You can already picture whimsical and fun soldiers laying here, trying so bad not to laugh in your face as you were trying to uncover all of their mental trauma without being strangled to death.
– Thank you, sir…captain? It’s nice.
– Not much, but everything that we were able to put when they said that we need a mental expert here.
– I will try my best not to disappoint you, I promise.
– You can unpack here, someone will show you the bed later. Still don’t know whether to put you with soldiers or medics.
– Um…I would really prefer a… A nice and roomy bedroom, preferably with no one to snore alongside you, and definitely not with soldiers who can get the wrong ideas about a nice and sweet lady psychologist sleeping right next to them on their base. Of course, you can’t say that.
–...I need to gather as much material about them as possible, so it would be really neat to sleep closer to the soldiers.
You are the architect of your own demise. You and your stupid Thesis that you are not even sure, whether you could write it right now or not.
– Oh.
He scratched his chin in a manner that you have seen too many times. Do all older males with bears share the same mannerism?
Then he smiled – a ghostly feature on his face, that almost made him look like he actually wanted you here, and not just putting up with higher-ups bullshit because every special task force needs its psychologist just so the soldiers won’t kill each other on one sunny day.
– Okay. I’ll think about something, doc.
– I am not…not a doctor, sir. Not yet, at least.
– Well, it’s either a doc or a kid. What do ya prefer?
– Doc would be better. Perhaps, I will earn my doctorate after the service.
– That’s the spirit, kid.
– But sir-
Shit. He is gone already.
You were never a fan of dad jokes. Or dad types. Or anyone, who is questioning what the fuck you are doing here, even though you spend 4 years fighting for this position in the college. Who cares, if you can’t shoot guns? Words are just as deadly!
Well, judging by the size of the rifle on the Captain's body, maybe, your words would definitely be less threatening than his guns. But this doesn’t change the whole picture!
Oh, well. You might as well try to get yourself as comfortable as possible – considering all of the possibilities, they might simply forget that you exist, and you would have to sleep on this tiny couch at least for today. What a great opportunity and definitely something that you spent four years waiting in awe of. Perfect, beautiful, something right from her dreams.
“You can still get out of here, you know. Just go out of this door and we will never ever speak about joining the military ever again. Trust me, babe, I am your conscience.”
Oh no. You hated talking with your conscience – mostly because it was an annoying prick, and also because, as studies were showing in many of the presentations you would make for your classes, this is a first sign of not just a person being self-aware, but also the step to being proclaimed a mad man. Even if you are, in fact, a very self-aware and mentally healthy person. Mostly. You liked to think of yourself as one, at least.
“You don’t want to be here. And you shouldn’t – there is plenty of work outside.”
Yeah, like a sex job. Or secretary. Or a waiter – what a beautiful line of work for someone already in too much debt to her government. And judging by the already dismissive faces of your parents, going home as a stay-at-home daughter is also not going to be an option. So, go far and beyond.
You just need to find a few people who would be interested in psychotherapy – how hard is that?

Harris is actually a pretty decent candidate and here's why
I have seen a lot of the same talking points that lost us the 2016 election getting repeated - a lot of talking about the very worst parts of the Democratic candidate, mixed with a lot of "vote blue no matter who" nonsense and I just want to say... Harris actually is a pretty decent candidate and it completely kills me that NO ONE is talking about this. Is she perfect? No absolutely not. Are all American politics conservative compared to global politics? Well... they used to be. But lots of people have said that a rise of fascism here in the US have emboldened the right globally , so that's not great. In either case, yes they are conservatives. But their policies aren't completely terrible and in fact I agree with a decent amount of them. So here's the good things about the Harris campaign, and why you shouldn't just vote for her, but vote for her and feel good about it.
Economics
Harris has an 82 page PDF on her website with a plan to re-energize the middle class. It includes a ban on price gouging, a cap on insulin and investment in clean energy, among many other intersectional policies. It includes a bunch of affordable housing policies including banning large investor purchases. It simplifies taxes for small businesses. It would end unnecessary degree requirements on jobs. It's 82 pages densely packed with not just good policy but actionable policy, if I went through all of it, this post would just be nothing but the economic plan. The Harris economic plan is actually pretty good. Is it a socialist pipe dream? No of course not. I think it's better than that. It's progressive policy that benefits everyone in this country, which will make more progressive policies even more popular. This is the kind of economic plan that starts shifting you back to the left.
Race
Harris has made supporting Black men a priority for her campaign. This plan includes LEGALIZING MARIJUANA FEDERALLY in order to overturn unjust tough on crime convictions. Reading Harris' own campaign page for this post TODAY is when I learned Harris wants to legalize weed. The Opportunity Agenda which focuses on supporting Black men and the issues they told her they are facing also includes FEDERAL REGULATIONS ON CRYPTOCURRENCY. It includes 1 million loans for Black entrepreneurs (can't help but notice that one is carefully ungendered, Black women), invest in community violence intervention, launch a health equity initiative, and invest in combating discriminatory housing. Reading this policy on supporting Black men on Harris' own campaign page... this isn't just Democratic policy, this is legitimately left-leaning.
Queer Rights
One of the reasons I was pushed to write this up is that recently someone whose opinion I normally respect said that they didn't like Harris' answer that she would "follow the law" on providing trans care for inmates. A law her administration confirmed when they reissued the transgender offender manual, by the way. As far as I can tell Harris has a long and progressive history on queer rights, even with the nuance that she was legally obligated to defend the CA DoC when they sued over the matter in 2015. Harris treats trans healthcare as something obvious - a normal decision between a person and their doctor which should be protected like anything else while her administration also quietly enshrining access to health care into law. This is part of the problem. Biden has signed at least four separate executive orders about gender since he took office and no one talks about it. i think the conservative pushback on this topic has been so aggressive and widespread that it's been difficult to see what should have been the effects of Biden's progressive policy on LGBT issues.
Environment
Harris is very good on climate. I've already mentioned that it's worked into the economy stuff. She's got policy on reducing emissions, she investigated Exxon Mobil, and as a senator she co-sponsored the Green New Deal. She's waffled on fracking and seems to currently prefer making it economically nonviable as compared to clean energy, which isn't as good as a ban. But most of the policies she's supported aren't just "better than Trump" they're actually good.
Immigration
It would be dishonest of me to write all this up without getting into some of the things I dislike Harris on. I don't like Harris on immigration. No one does - she's either too lax or too strict. She wants to resurrect the bipartisan border security bill, which, although it does call to expedite asylum process, would also increase deportations and in my opinion makes too many concessions in the name of bipartisanship. Her stance has not been very vocal other than to say she supports this bill. But I've noticed that Biden's policies on immigration have often been softer than they appear, including caveats to keep families together and expand the possibility of legal immigration while controlling for illegal immigration. I'm not necessarily against that - a major source of illegal immigration is corporations trafficking workers across the border legally and then not helping them renew their work visas. That is something we need to crack down on at the corporation side in my opinion and I wish we could see a candidate who talked about that part of it as an immigration issues. This is something that I think Harris is too conservative on and I won't hide from that. I also don't think she's being given much of a choice. Conservatives are frothing at the mouth over immigration. It's really really scary. There are way too many people willing to take matters into their own hands on this one. I want something more progressive but I understand taking a stricter stance on this one as a form of harm reduction. If these people think the country is being "overrun," they'll just take the solution into their own hands. We don't want that.
Palestine
Yep, we had to get there. Look, no electable politician in the United States is going to give a good answer to Palestine. We are far too entrenched with Israel and imperialism and war profiteering for a leader to easily take the moral stance here - they would receive too much pushback from their peers. The bar is set really, really low here, and that isn't a good thing. I don't think Harris is going to call what's happening in Palestine a genocide while it's ongoing, and I don't actually think she'll withdraw military aid, though I am hopeful that she'll do what Biden has done before and restrict it. But I do know that Gazans say that Harris would be the better president and I do know that Arab Americans support Harris and I do know that Harris said Palestinians have a right to self-determination. I included this because it's an important issue for many voters and one of the biggest deal breakers for a lot of leftists in the US. I believe Harris will act in ways that make her complicit in genocide if she gets elected. And I believe she will try to limit that harm more than a lot of other politicians would. This is the one where I would say that in comparison the situation under her leadership would be much better than under Trump. Trump supports an Israeli victory, not a ceasefire. He's told Netanyahu to "finish the problem." In fact Trump has already contributed actively to the genocide in Palestine. He dropped the US commitment for a two-state solution in 2017 and declared Jerusalem as Israel's capital in the same year. He cut aid to Palestine and reversed US policy on the Golan Heights and the occupation of the West Bank. One of these candidates disapproves of what's happening, but might not have the backbone to stop it. One of these candidates will actively participate. And that's enough for my conscience to be clear.
In conclusion
Voting is about compromise and accountability. Who do I think will enact at least some policies I agree with, and how can I pressure them to enact even more? Elect Harris and then petition the White House to revoke military support of Israel and there is at least a chance they will listen. Elect Harris and we'll have at least a little longer to breathe clean air while fighting for a solution to all the other problems we have. Elect Harris and she'll LEGALIZE MARIJUANA WHY IS THIS THE FIRST TIME I'M HEARING ABOUT THIS.

The word "luck" doesn't appear in the English language until the 1480s, likely borrowed from the Middle High German word "gelücke". Luck as an English word was likely brought into the language as a gambling term but has since developed into a superstitious belief and supernatural phenomenon that various cultures believe in.
What Luck Is (And Isn't)
Luck can be broken down into two things: the belief that defines the experience of improbable events by chance and an attribute of a person or object. Luck isn't something that is usually measured. It's simply good or bad, and it just is. While luck isn't usually measured, there are superstitious beliefs regarding what may attract good and bad luck. There are also various practices in folk magic that are said to protect, benefit, and ruin one's luck.
The thing about luck that makes it unpredictable is that it doesn't care how good of a person you are (or how good you think you are). Bad luck comes for everybody, whether by improbable chance or by consequence of your own actions. It doesn't judge you or anybody else. You could be one of the most generous and kind individuals out there, and bad luck would still find a way to you.
It is important to mention that there are no universal rules or "correct" beliefs regarding luck. Many cultures believe in the concept of luck but have different beliefs regarding what is lucky and unlucky. One example of this is how many Christian-influenced cultures believe that 7 is a lucky number. At the same time, some Asian cultures believe the number 7 is unlucky.
Another important point to mention is luck is not karma, so avoid treating it like karma. Karma is a doctrine from Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Luck is a superstitious belief and supernatural phenomenon that many people, regardless of their religon or lack of, believe in. I won't get into the details of karma here because that would derail the entire post. Find a Hindu, Buddhist, or Jain to talk to. Research it on your own time.
The Importance of Luck in Folk Belief
You have to consider how the times were prior to today's conveniences; those conveniences being the internet, cell phones, fast transportation, and many other technologies. For many rural communities, the nearest doctor could easily be a day-long trip or longer away on horseback. If one person had an infected wound or got sick, it could mean death. If the man of the house lost his job, it could mean the entire family starves. If the family didn't starve, the bank may take the house due to them failing to pay their taxes or failing to pay off their loans.
The smallest mistake could come with a heavy price back then. Due to this, people sought to preserve their good luck however they could. As long as their luck was good, they could at least get by.
While we have many conveniences in today's age (I'll admit, conveniences that are often privileges), you still never really know when things are going to go sour. There are still many rural communities and low-income communities where people are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Many of these people have vehicles that are hanging on by a thread because they can't afford anything too new. Many can't afford health insurance or an emergency hospital bill. I could list a number of things, but you get my point. For many people, despite today's conveniences, life is still full of struggle for many. This goes back to what I said earlier- many people still believe that as long as they can keep their luck good, they can at least get by.
Common Superstitions
I will give the disclaimer now: I'm speaking from the perspective of a person raised in the deep south and currently living in rural appalachia. Some of these are superstitions I grew up with, and some are ones I learned as I grew older. You may be from a place where the beliefs are the opposite of what I have listed here. That's okay. Sometimes, things are different based on location and culture. Take that into account as you read from here.
• Hang horseshoes above the front door facing upwards to keep the good luck from running out.
• Sprinkle cornmeal at the bottom of your savings jar to keep your coins and cash off the hard bottom, that way you'll be kept off hard times.
• If you find a penny facing heads-up, put it in your right shoe for good luck.
• Never burn pine, cedar, dogwood, or sassafras inside. It brings bad luck. (Also, pine will spit like none other so just don't burn it inside so you won't burn your house down.)
• Always exit a building the same way you entered, otherwise you will attract bad luck.
• When you move into a new house, leave your old broom behind. Otherwise you will bring all the negativity from the old house with you.
• Carrying a rabbit's foot attracts good luck.

Patrick McKenzie on "vaccine hesitancy"
From the latest episode of Patrick McKenzie's podcast Complex Systems:
One point about vaccine hesitancy that I think is broadly underappreciated: Consider the Pell Grant program in the United States. Pell Grants are essentially free money for college. Despite that, we never hear about “Pell Grant hesitancy,” yet every college knows it has to do a sales job to explain this to prospective students. For example, they’ll say: "There are various ways to fund college. A loan you have to pay back. A grant, like a Pell Grant, is free money you don’t pay back. Here’s an application you need to fill out, and then the money will arrive." Even though it’s free money, colleges still invest in explaining and promoting it because people don’t automatically understand the program. Now think about the COVID vaccine rollout. A lot of people, particularly in the professional-managerial class, assumed the vaccine was the most anticipated product release in human history. After a year of lockdowns and trauma, it seemed obvious that no one would need convincing to take it. But that assumption was wrong. Much of what was perceived as vaccine hesitancy wasn’t driven by anti-science or deep-seated opposition. It was more like, No one has sat me down and explained why this benefits me. Many people assumed, If the vaccine were truly important, someone—my doctor, a public health official—would have told me by now. This wasn’t well-calibrated to the reality of the U.S. healthcare system, which, for better or worse, didn’t believe it needed to sell the vaccine to individuals. Now, of course, there was a partisan and politicized element to vaccine hesitancy. And it wasn’t a straightforward left-versus-right issue—it had a bit of a horseshoe effect, pulling in groups from across the spectrum. But a significant portion of the hesitancy stemmed from a lack of direct, clear communication, not outright opposition.
I was in the group of people who were eagerly anticipating the rollout of the vaccines in 2021. Looking through my message history in several group chats, I can find that at the start of April 2021, I repeatedly broadcast a message to my local friends to the effect of:
The vaccine is available to everyone age 16 or higher on [date]
VACCINES ARE FREE FOR EVERYONE and YOU DO NOT NEED HEALTH INSURANCE to get injected FOR FREE.
Additionally, there are two earlier tiers of groups that are eligible to get their vaccine on [date -14 days] and [date -7 days]; here is a link to see if you're part of one of the eligible groups
I received numerous replies to the effect of, "thank you for sharing this information with me; I just booked an appointment to get vaccinated, which is something that I would not have done in the counterfactual world where I did not see your message." (I do not think the person who lives in that counterfactual world -- and did not schedule the vaccination appointment -- fits the typical profile of what people think of "vaccine hesitant.")
There is probably a world in which these people got this same information from a public health official or a doctor. (Perhaps that world has higher state capacity and more efficacious institutions.) Instead, these people live in a world where they got that message in the group chat that used to be used to organize board game meetups.
The point that "the general rollout in mid April 2021 is for everyone 16 and up" seemed to be a piece of information that people got from me that they didn't get from other messaging channels.
Another critical point that several people appreciated having explicitly spelling out for them was "everyone can get jabbed for free; yes, this includes the uninsured, or people who don't know if they're insured because they're 25 and maybe that means they're on their parents' insurance but they kinda neglected to figure out that whole thing but also embarrassed to ask about it."
This was a vital bit of signal that seemed to get dropped from some of the messaging that made it to their ears, and it rhymes a bit with a parenthetical remark Patrick made outside the podcast audio:
You can understand why people are skeptical [of Pell Grants], too! “As if the federal government would give me tens of thousands of dollars, for free, with basically no checking. That certainly hasn’t matched any other experience in my life!”
Patrick also has a parenthetical note about why the US healthcare system needs to play a marketing role in "selling" the vaccine to individuals, despite their belief that that this was not necessary:
Pharmacies were the primary site that the vaccine was physically delivered at, and pharmacies are not specialized in demand generation for drugs. The pharma industry expects physicians to do that; that is why the physicians get visits by attractive people explaining the benefits of the new things on offer.
Two practical implications:
Society benefits from having functional institutions that can do things at scale, like informing the public of information that they need to know as a matter of public safety
In the absence of institutions, one of the fallbacks for important information making its way to the people who need it is "group chat message from the person who organizes the board game meetup I attended a year ago." This might practically describe you, dear reader. You may not wish to be burdened with this responsibility, but this is one mechanism by which you can be part of the change which you wish to see in the world.
I participated in this (admittedly small-scale) messaging effort in part thanks to the example set by other participants in local group chats which I am a part of, which have historically been the way that I have learned information, like "There is currently a boil order for [neighborhood]; here is a webpage with a map to see if you are affected. (Also, in case 'boil order' is a new phrase to you: there are worries about water contamination due to [reasons] and as such the health department is recommending that you boil any water that comes out of your tap before drinking it, even if it 'looks normal.')"
I feel that parenthetical point bears repeating. One point of frustration I personally heard from multiple people in 2020 was the number of occasions when public officials issued an order like "shelter in place" without further elaboration for the benefit of people who weren't already familiar with that precise piece of jargon.
You might think that people, upon encountering that sort of jargon, would perform a Google search to discover what exactly it is they are being instructed to do. But as someone who has ever worked in marketing and looked at sales funnel dashboard can tell you, there is zero chance that the conversion rate for this is 100%. Whenever you add the step of "do a google search to figure out what the public order is actually notifying you about," you are adding another layer to the funnel. And with each layer you add, you are losing some people.

It’s worth pointing out that there are two concerns with UBI:
One, is that people who get it will stop working. The most recent study on this I’ve seen does actually show a mild decline in work hours (that’s probably a feature, not a bug). It’s not overall concerning, but it absolutely has shown some dip on overall productivity, so the economic concerns are at least real there. Again — that is arguably the point, but arguing there won’t be a drop in productivity is inaccurate. Drops in productivity can be meaningful if they mean less of a necessary supply (agriculture, medicine, etc).
Two, and this one is the most concerning, is inflation. Economics are really, really complicated, but one pretty sure thing is that when you dump a bunch of money into people’s pockets en masse, prices will go up to match that reality. PPP loans and stimulus checks during Covid are likely a big part of the reason prices and inflation went up. Yes, there were other issues (price gouging, supply chain issues), but in actuality, giving everyone more money doesn’t give them higher buying power — it just raises prices. Giving everyone more money is a sure way to cause inflation. UBI pilots tend to be very small, and they mostly just show that if some limited amount of people get more money, things will be better for them personally. But that doesn’t mean that if everyone gets it, the same will be true. Everything will go up. The baseline costs will just rise along with the supply of money.
I’d argue, pretty strongly, that outside of limited tax credits, UBI isn’t the best idea. Rather than UBI, you want a few big things:
1. Subsidized healthcare. People stay in jobs, especially in America, because your ability to pay for healthcare is usually directly contingent on your job. Lose your job? Lose your healthcare. People cannot afford that, so they are stuck. No reasonable UBI would cover these costs. Doctors, nurses, and hospitals all provide a service, and the government pays for that benefit through taxes.
2. Universal child care. Child care is extraordinarily expensive (one child in NYC is an average of $20k a year!). Many parents choose to either have one parent stay home (meaning they lose an income, and usually the income increase that parent would have gotten over time) or they are paying a big portion of their income towards child care and losing out on spending time with their child. A universal child care system (just like our K-12 school system) would help parents leave jobs for different jobs without needing to find, for example, an employer that provides child care on site. If you left your job, you’d have the time and ability to find a new one without worrying about your child being safe.
3. Build a fuckton of new housing. You can’t afford your rent because there simply aren’t enough places to live, at least in most high population cities. So that rent bill gets sky high due strictly to very basic supply and demand. This is almost entirely determined by the market, and by property taxes. Your property is taxed on its estimated assessed value, not on what rent you are charging. If demand goes up, and suddenly every apartment in your building is going for $4k a month, you’re going to be expected to pay taxes on that value, even if you only charge $2K for rent. Those taxes are what pay for your public benefits like school, and we can’t really afford to lose them. How do we fix that? Increase supply! Places like Austin are doing this and seeing great results. The government doesn’t care if they’re bringing property taxes on two $2k/month apts or one $4k/month apt.
4. Give government agencies the ability to truly enforce antitrust and price gouging violations. There are genuine bad actors out there who use situations like the pandemic to raise prices and maximize profit. Empower the government to actually investigate and enforce rules around price gouging, antitrust violations, and other actions corporations take to maximize profits to the point where they negatively affect people. Note though, that corporations must actually make a profit to exist. So “corporation continued to make a profit during Covid” is not actually a bad thing for anyone. “Corporation quadrupled their profit margin for a full three years during and after Covid”, on the other hand, is a big warning sign unless that company happened to be Zoom or a pharmaceutical company. Likewise, government enforcement over utilities monopolies, etc, can go a long way towards limiting negative impacts for the average renter/owner.
Systems theory is where it’s at, here. Our economy is a highly complicated system, and thinking through impacts is necessary. Where does the UBI come from, if people are off making art they can’t sell and not paying taxes? If they’re taking lots of time off for family, or to grieve? I mean this honestly. Who is paying for that? We cannot make money from nothing, it has to come from somewhere or your entire economy crashes and your dollar has no value. And no, the answer isn’t just “tax the rich” because there is not unlimited wealth. You could drain every billionaire in America dry (even considering that billionaires aren’t liquid and mostly own stocks in their own and other companies that go up and down with the value of those companies AND that stock only has value if there is someone else to buy it) and it would barely cover a few years of a smaller UBI.
The U.S. has about 345 million Americans. A monthly $500 UBI would cost over $2 trillion dollars annually. That is an enormous amount of money, and because it isn’t taxed, it’s money that doesn’t support any subsidized system.
Simple seeming solutions can seem really nice and clean, but actual governmental policy is incredibly complicated in large part because all our systems are immensely complicated.
This post was way longer than I intended, but I’m going to end it with this: back in 9th grade, many eons ago now for me, my history teacher told us all a story about how Americans spent a ton of money developing a pen that would work in space. The Russians, on the other hand, gave their astronauts pencils! This was shared like Americans were just dummies who never thought to use a pencil.
Well, it turns out, pencils break! And guess what’s worse than spending a bunch of money developing space pens? How about having little pieces of poisonous lead flying around endangering astronauts and getting into sensitive electronics equipment?
Usually, if a simple answer has been passed on a bunch of times, it’s not because nobody has thought of it before. It’s because there was probably a pretty good reason why experts said “probably not the best idea”.

The Budget Planner is flexible. You can choose to see your budget on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. This gives you the freedom to look at your finances in whatever way makes the most sense for you.
Now let’s talk about the different sections of the Budget Planner. You’ll need to enter your income and spending in categories like:

There are many reasons to use the Budget Planner. It helps you stay in control of your finances by showing you exactly where your money is going. It also helps you make smarter choices with your money by pointing out where you might be overspending. Plus, it gives you a clearer view of how much you’re saving.

I don't know if you personally benefited from any of these things, only you know that. I can say that many people I personally know including myself HAVE benefited from Biden's policies.
If YOU specifically didn't get your student loans forgiven (yet), that means the thousands of people who did get theirs forgiven don't matter? That's selfish.
I know I benefited from the ACA still existing after my job insurance stopped in January. Trump wants to kill the ACA. I know many trans people have benefited from Biden writing into law the fact that doctors can't discriminate against trans people.
I sure hope you benefited from vaccines under Biden, but it would have been your choice to go get those vaccines. Biden can't force you to take a vaccine. I know I benefited by not having to pay for any of the COVID vaccines and boosters I got over the past 4 years.
Has abortion access been federally enshrined? It's well on its way. Go read the links I added to the original post. Biden did not appoint the judges that overturned Roe v Wade and he has no ability to control what the Supreme Court does.
Yes, trans rights HAVE been federally protected in multiple different ways.
Yes, there have been environmental protections that have been put in to place that are "short term" - but as a geologist, let me tell you that the long term plans you derided are the ones that actually matter.
And you're right - a lot of stuff can be overturned by the next president...
WHICH IS WHY WE CAN'T LET TRUMP WIN.
Look.
Tumblr media
I have made you a chart. A very simple chart.
People say "You have to draw the line somewhere, and Biden has crossed it-" and my response is "Trump has crossed way more lines than Biden".
These categories are based off of actual policy enacted by both of these men while they were in office.
If the ONLY LINE YOU CARE ABOUT is line 12, you have an incredible amount of privilege, AND YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT PALESTINIANS. You obviously have nothing to fear from a Trump presidency, and you do not give a fuck if a ceasefire actually occurs. You are obviously fine if your queer, disabled, and marginalized loved ones are hurt. You clearly don't care about the status of American democracy, which Trump has openly stated he plans to destroy on day 1 he is in office.

Instant Cash Loans Canada: Quick Relief for Financial Emergencies
Tumblr media
When you’re faced with unexpected expenses, the last thing you want to worry about is how to access the money you need. Whether it’s a sudden car repair, medical bills, or a family emergency, instant cash loans Canada provide a fast and simple solution to get the funds you need right when you need them.
In this post, we’ll take a closer look at how instant cash loans work in Canada, their benefits, and what you need to consider before applying for one.
What Are Instant Cash Loans Canada?
Instant cash loans are short-term loans designed to provide quick financial relief. These loans are typically offered in small amounts and come with quick approval and fast disbursement of funds—sometimes within hours. Instant cash loans Canada are often unsecured, meaning you don’t need to put up collateral to qualify, which makes them accessible to a wider range of borrowers.
They are ideal for covering urgent expenses that cannot wait until your next payday. The loan amount and repayment terms vary depending on the lender, but they are typically repaid within a few weeks.
How Do Instant Cash Loans Canada Work?
The process of obtaining an instant cash loan in Canada is simple and fast:
Apply Online: The first step is to fill out an online application. Most lenders require basic personal information, such as your name, address, income details, and bank account information. Many lenders do not require a credit check, making it easier for individuals with bad credit or no credit history to qualify.
Approval: Instant cash loans are often approved quickly, sometimes in as little as a few minutes. Lenders may only review your income and employment status to determine your ability to repay the loan.
Receive Funds: Once your loan is approved, the funds are transferred directly into your bank account. Depending on the lender, this could happen the same day or the next business day. Some lenders may offer other options like e-transfer, making it even faster.
Repayment: Instant cash loans are typically due in full by your next payday, which means the loan must be repaid within a few weeks. Some lenders may allow you to extend the repayment period, but be aware that this may come with additional fees or interest charges.
Benefits of Instant Cash Loans Canada
Fast and Convenient: The biggest advantage of instant cash loans is the speed with which you can access funds. Whether it's an emergency medical bill or urgent car repair, these loans provide quick access to money when you need it most.
No Credit Check: Many instant cash loans in Canada do not require a credit check, making them accessible for individuals with poor credit or no credit history. As long as you can demonstrate a reliable source of income, you may qualify for a loan.
Simple Application Process: The application process for instant cash loans is quick and easy. Most lenders require just a few minutes to apply online, and many offer immediate approval decisions, allowing you to access the funds you need as soon as possible.
24/7 Availability: Many online lenders operate around the clock, allowing you to apply for a loan at any time of day or night. This is particularly useful in emergencies that can happen at any time, even outside of regular banking hours.
No Collateral Required: Instant cash loans in Canada are often unsecured, meaning you don’t need to provide collateral like a car or house. This makes them a more accessible option for many borrowers.
Common Uses for Instant Cash Loans Canada
Instant cash loans are typically used to cover urgent, unexpected expenses. Some common reasons people apply for these loans include:
Medical Bills: Emergencies can happen at any time, and medical expenses often require immediate attention. Instant cash loans can help you cover the cost of doctor visits, prescriptions, or medical treatments.
Car Repairs: Car troubles can arise unexpectedly, and getting your vehicle back on the road quickly is essential. Instant cash loans can provide the funds you need to pay for urgent repairs.
Household Bills: Utility bills, rent payments, and other essential household expenses can become due unexpectedly. Instant cash loans help ensure that you don’t fall behind on payments and avoid late fees.
Emergency Travel: Whether it’s a family emergency or urgent work-related travel, instant cash loans can provide the funds for flight tickets, hotel bookings, or transportation.
Considerations Before Applying for Instant Cash Loans Canada
High-Interest Rates: One of the drawbacks of instant cash loans is the high-interest rates. Since these are short-term loans, the interest can accumulate quickly, making the loan more expensive over time. Make sure you understand the total cost of the loan before agreeing to the terms.
Short Repayment Period: Instant cash loans are typically due within a few weeks, which may not give you much time to repay the amount. It’s important to ensure you’ll be able to repay the loan on time, or you may face additional fees or interest charges.
Late Payment Fees: Missing a repayment date can lead to late fees and further charges, which could make the loan more expensive. Always ensure that you can repay the loan by the due date to avoid penalties.
Risk of Debt Cycle: If you're unable to repay the loan on time, you may need to take out another loan or extend the repayment period. This can lead to a cycle of borrowing that is difficult to break and can create more financial strain.
Alternatives to Instant Cash Loans Canada
If you’re concerned about the high-interest rates or short repayment terms of instant cash loans, there are alternative options to consider:
Personal Lines of Credit: A personal line of credit offers lower interest rates and more flexible repayment terms. This could be a better option for larger expenses that you can’t repay quickly.
Credit Cards: If you have a credit card with a reasonable interest rate or an interest-free period, it might be a more affordable option than instant cash loans.
Instalment Loans: Unlike instant cash loans, instalment loans allow you to repay the loan in smaller, more manageable payments over a longer period. This could be a more budget-friendly option if you need more time to repay the loan.
Conclusion
Instant cash loans Canada offer a quick and convenient solution for those facing urgent financial needs. They provide fast access to funds without the need for credit checks, and the simple application process makes it easy to apply from the comfort of your own home. However, it's important to keep in mind the high-interest rates and short repayment periods that come with these loans.
Before applying, carefully consider the cost of borrowing and ensure that you can repay the loan on time. If used responsibly, instant cash loans can provide much-needed financial relief during emergencies.

What is a Doctor Loan?
These loans can be used for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to, expanding a medical practice, purchasing medical equipment, funding further education, or covering personal expenses. Unlike regular loans, doctor loans often come with unique benefits, such as:
Higher Loan Amounts: Doctors are typically eligible for higher loan amounts compared to other borrowers, thanks to their stable income and reputation.
Lower Interest Rates: Many financial institutions offer attractive interest rates for doctors.
Flexible Repayment Terms: These loans often have longer repayment periods, making them more manageable for doctors.
No Collateral: Some lenders provide unsecured loans, meaning doctors don’t need to pledge assets as security.
Why Apply for a Doctor Loan Online?
The digital transformation has significantly impacted the loan application process, making it easier, faster, and more accessible. Here are some compelling reasons why you should consider applying for a doctor loan online:
1. Convenience and Time-Saving
Gone are the days of visiting multiple banks and filling out paperwork manually. With online loan applications, you can apply for a doctor loan from the comfort of your home or office, saving you valuable time. The entire process, from submission to approval, can take place in a matter of minutes.
2. 24/7 Availability
Unlike traditional banks that operate within set hours, online platforms allow you to apply for loans at any time, whether it’s early morning or late at night. This flexibility ensures that doctors with busy schedules can apply for a loan when it’s most convenient for them.
3. Easy Comparison
Online platforms give you the ability to compare loan offers from different lenders. This helps you find the best interest rates, loan terms, and repayment options that suit your financial needs. Platforms like Loanz360 provide a detailed overview of loan offerings, ensuring you make an informed decision.
4. Quick Disbursement
The online loan process is streamlined, meaning approval and disbursement happen faster compared to traditional loans. Many lenders offer instant approval, especially for pre-qualified borrowers, ensuring that you receive the funds you need in a timely manner.
Eligibility Criteria for a Doctor Loan
When applying for a doctor loan online, understanding the eligibility criteria is crucial. While these criteria can vary depending on the lender, here are some general requirements that most financial institutions will consider:
1. Professional Qualification
To be eligible for a doctor loan, you must be a licensed medical professional. This includes general practitioners, specialists, dentists, and even Ayurvedic practitioners in certain cases.
2. Minimum Experience
Most lenders prefer doctors with a minimum of two to three years of experience in their practice. This ensures that the borrower has a stable income and financial track record.
3. Age Limit
Typically, the age of the applicant must be between 25 to 65 years. This age limit ensures that the borrower has a sufficient working life to repay the loan.
4. Income Level
Lenders may require you to demonstrate a certain level of income, as a way of assessing your ability to repay the loan. Higher income levels generally make it easier to qualify for a loan with better terms.
5. Credit Score
While some lenders are more lenient with doctors, maintaining a good credit score can improve your chances of securing a loan with favorable terms. A score of 700 and above is generally considered excellent and can help in obtaining better loan offers.
How to Apply for a Doctor Loan Online?
Now that you understand the benefits and eligibility criteria, let’s walk through the steps of applying for a doctor loan online:
Step 1: Research and Compare Lenders
Before applying, it’s essential to do some research. Use online platforms such as Loanz360 to compare various loan offers from different financial institutions. Look for factors like interest rates, loan amounts, and repayment terms.
Step 2: Fill Out the Application Form

Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents
Along with your application, you’ll need to submit certain documents to verify your eligibility. Common documents required for a doctor loan include:
Proof of identity (Aadhaar card, passport, etc.)
Proof of address (utility bills, rental agreement)
Medical qualification certificate
Income proof (salary slips, bank statements)
Tax returns (if applicable)
Step 4: Review and Approval
Once your application and documents are submitted, the lender will review your details. If everything is in order, you’ll receive loan approval within a short period. Some lenders may ask for additional documents or clarifications, so be prepared for that.
Step 5: Loan Disbursement

As a medical professional, you have a unique financial journey that sets you apart from most other careers. Years of schooling, substantial student loans, and a rigorous training process mean that traditional lending products may not always align with your needs. Fortunately, many banks and financial institutions recognize this and offer loan for doctor specialized financing options designed with doctors, dentists, and veterinarians in mind. In this article, we’ll explore what makes doctor loans the best option for medical professionals, how to apply for one online, and what to look for when choosing the right loan.
What is a Doctor Loan?
A doctor loan is a specialized loan product tailored specifically for licensed medical professionals, including physicians, surgeons, dentists, and sometimes veterinarians. Doctor loans offer terms and benefits that account for the high earning potential but also the early debt load common in medical professions. These loans are often available at favorable interest rates, with higher borrowing limits and more flexible repayment structures than standard loans.
Many doctor loans are specifically designed to help professionals purchase a home, refinance student loans, or establish a private practice. The unique advantage of doctor loans lies in their focus on future income potential, allowing doctors to borrow more even if they’re still in the early, lower-income stages of their careers.
Key Benefits of Doctor Loans
Here are some of the primary benefits that make doctor loans particularly appealing:
Higher Loan Amounts: Many lenders offer larger loan amounts to doctors based on projected future earnings, making it easier to qualify for a mortgage or practice loan.
Low or Zero Down Payment Options: Some doctor mortgage loans require little to no down payment, a significant advantage for medical professionals who are early in their careers and may not have large savings.
No Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI): One of the most appealing features of doctor mortgage loans is that they often waive PMI requirements. This can save thousands over the life of a loan, especially on a high-value mortgage.
Competitive Interest Rates: Lenders recognize the strong earning potential of doctors and often offer lower interest rates as an incentive. This can make monthly payments more manageable.
Flexible Repayment Terms: Since income levels for doctors tend to increase significantly after residency, many lenders offer flexible repayment schedules that accommodate fluctuating income in the early years.
Types of Doctor Loans
Doctor loans come in various forms to suit different financing needs, from mortgages to practice loans to student loan refinancing. Here are some common types:
Doctor Mortgage Loans: These are ideal for doctors who want to buy a home. They offer high loan limits, low or no down payment, and usually waive PMI requirements. These loans help doctors secure a home early in their career without the financial pressure of a large down payment.
Student Loan Refinancing: Many doctors graduate with substantial student debt. Doctor-specific refinancing options allow them to consolidate and lower their interest rates, which can reduce monthly payments and save money over time.
Practice Loans: For doctors starting or expanding their practices, practice loans provide financing for office space, medical equipment, technology, and initial operational expenses.
Personal Loans for Doctors: Personal doctor loans provide quick access to cash for various needs, from home improvement to covering unexpected expenses. These loans often come with favorable terms and don’t require a specific use, allowing flexibility.
How to Apply for a Doctor Loan Online
Applying for a loan for doctors in India can save time and simplify the process. Here are the general steps to follow:
Choose a Lender That Specializes in Doctor Loans: Not all lenders offer loans specifically for doctors. Research lenders who understand the financial needs of medical professionals and offer doctor loans. Be sure to compare loan terms, interest rates, fees, and eligibility requirements.
Check Eligibility Requirements: Each lender has its own criteria for doctor loans. Generally, they’ll require proof of a medical license, employment or residency status, and income documentation. Some lenders may offer loans to residents or newly graduated doctors who haven’t yet reached their full income potential.
Gather Necessary Documentation: Most lenders will need documentation such as your medical license, proof of employment, recent tax returns, and potentially a statement of your student loan debt. Make sure to have these documents ready before starting the application process.
Fill Out the Online Application: Once you’ve selected a lender, go to their website and begin the online application. This typically includes providing personal information, financial details, and selecting the loan amount and type.
Submit and Await Approval: After submitting your application and supporting documents, the lender will review everything. Doctor loans are generally processed more quickly than traditional loans, given the favorable risk profile of medical professionals.
Review Loan Offer and Terms: If approved, the lender will send a loan offer outlining the terms, interest rates, repayment schedule, and any fees. Review these details carefully and ask questions if needed.
Choosing the Best Loan Option for Your Needs
When choosing a doctor loan, consider these factors to ensure it aligns with your goals:
Loan Amount: Determine the amount you need based on your personal or professional goals. Some loans are better suited for large expenditures (like buying a home or opening a practice), while others may be best for smaller needs.
Interest Rate and Terms: Compare interest rates among lenders to find the best rate. Pay close attention to whether the rate is fixed or variable and how it aligns with your repayment capacity.
Repayment Flexibility: Since many doctors experience income fluctuations early in their careers, a loan with flexible repayment options can ease financial stress during residency or fellowship.
Fees and Additional Costs: Be aware of any fees associated with the loan, such as origination fees or prepayment penalties. Some lenders may charge fees upfront, while others might build them into the loan.
PMI and Down Payment Requirements: If applying for a mortgage, check for PMI requirements and down payment minimums. Doctor loans often waive PMI, which can be a significant advantage.
Final Thoughts
Doctor loans provide a financial lifeline to medical professionals, helping them navigate the high costs of education, real estate, and starting a practice. With high loan amounts, low down payments, and favorable interest rates, doctor loans allow physicians to achieve their goals faster and with fewer financial hurdles.
Applying for a professional loan for doctors online is a straightforward process, and by choosing a lender who understands the unique needs of doctors, you can secure financing that aligns with your lifestyle and career goals. Whether you’re looking to buy a home, start a practice, or refinance student loans, a doctor loan can be the key to building a prosperous future.
