I finally got around to reading What If? Magik.

This is my favourite Illyana book. It's the best one. The art, the writing. The vibe. Strange as a teacher and father figure is so amazing for Yana. The incredible deep-dive into Yana's psyche, both as it applies to the specific universe it's located in and the greater Marvel canon.

It's brilliant. I love it.

i think it would be funny to write something where dani invites Illyana, Rahne and Xuan to hang out, not realizing that having her fuckbuddy (who is in love with her) her crush (who is also in love with her) and someone who is desperately crushing on her (because she is also in love with her) is like a Bad Idea.

Illyana Rasputin in X-Terminators #5

Aw, look at that! Illyana gets a cute kid sidekick to bring out her protective side and make her reflect on her own childhood trauma in a compelling way. I’m sure we can look forward to a long, well-explored relationship between Yana and Beastie that returns again and again though many books.
