Tonight I will be performing my first Reiki session since 2000. Once upon a time I was preparing to perform reiki as a career. I had all the tools I needed, pamphlets made, a web page, the credit card machine, etc. And then Covid happened.
As I am diving back into my notes from 2020 I came across the below. It explains what reiki is and how one of my sessions usually works.
Dave (Das Energi) been a practicing Buddhist, meditating regularly for over 15 years. He has identified as a healer since high school when he would give massages for fun to friends and family. Through his hugs and touch, Dave transmutes negative energy into positive.
Dave had his Kundalini Awakening experience in 2014. Since then he has connected to his global soul family including shamans, witches, healers, and the divine. He is a beacon of light and love, guiding others on their spiritual path. He is a Kundalini Reiki Master and also a Level II Usui Reiki Practitioner.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a combination of two Japanese kanji characters: "Rei" meaning universal spirit and "Ki" meaning life force energy. During a Reiki session, the Reiki practitioner connects with the universal energy source and places their hands on or above the recipient with the intention to encourage emotional, physical, or spiritual well-being.
Reiki is not a massage but rather a healing technique of "laying hands" which has been used for thousands of years across several cultures and continents. Most people find Reiki to be relaxing, however sensitivity to energy differs from person to person.
No two Reiki sessions are exactly alike. A session will begin by discussing the recipient’s intentions for receiving Reiki and if they are experiencing any discomfort either physically, emotionally, or spiritually. This information will be helpful in guiding the practitioner during the healing.
The recipient and the practitioner will then ground their energies with the Earth, and breathe together so that their energies are in sync and harmonized.
The recipient will then lay down, fully clothed, on a massage table and be encouraged to close their eyes and meditate or notice any bodily sensations that may arise during the session. The Reiki practitioner will then conduct a body scan, feeling if any of the recipient’s chakras are out of alignment or an auric cleansing needs to be done.
The Reiki practitioner will lay their hands on the recipient’s body and follow their intuition laying their hands on several bodily locations. It is important to note that Reiki energy will flow to other parts of the body. For example, if the Reiki practitioner lays hands on the recipient’s feet, the energy may travel to the recipient’s lower-back, or if hands are laid on the stomach, the energy may travel to the neck. The Reiki energy knows where it needs to go, even if neither the recipient nor the practitioner is aware.
During the final moments, the Reiki session will be closed with a brief sound bath. The practitioner will then seal the energy field and ground the recipient back to the Earth with breathwork again.
Everything is energy. The physical body is electrical and so are our thoughts and brain functions. Our thoughts form energy patterns and create emotions that affect our aura/electrical field. Our energy field interacts and influences everything around us including other humans, plants, and animals; even the food we eat is affected by the energy of the person preparing it. We are surrounded by energetic fields and it is common for people to unconsciously draw on the energy of others around them, affecting their emotions and vitality.
When there is an imbalance in the body, it is stuck energy. Energy must always move, and when it cannot, it will find the weakest part of the physical body where it will manifest itself into some type of challenge.
Reiki allows the universal life force to flow through us so that a heart-mind alignment can occur, releasing lower energy vibrations like fear, worry, anxiety, stress, anger, and disappointment. It brings balance to emotions, thoughts, biological processes, energy centers, and helps to reduce pain, inflammation, and stress within the body.
For Reiki to do the best work you will also need to be a participant in the healing process. You must be open to the healing energy to flow within you. The Reiki practitioner is only a facilitator of healing, and it is the positive intentions of the recipient that affects the outcome most dramatically.
Everything in the universe is made of energy, therefore Reiki can be performed on everything in the universe. Most people use Reiki to clear their own energetic blockages, but it can also be used on our beloved pets when they need a boost of positive energy or as an alternative to using sage to clear our homes of negative energy (ideal for those sensitive to smoke or smells).

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Ino is a young man of average height with disheveled brown hair usually kept under his signature ski-mask rolled up into a beanie-type hat. Hidden by his hair, Ino has a scar going across the left side of his forehead. He wears a wide-collared black sweatshirt and matching black pants tucked into his high-topped sneakers.
PERSONALITY
Takuma Ino is a genuine and cheerful person with a more positive outlook on things than most jujutsu sorcerers. He doesn't believe he's the smartest person around and has a lot of respect for Nanami. Whenever Ino finds himself in a tough situation, he asks himself what would Nanami do.
Ino believes it's important to proceed through life doing things the right way, especially with dirty work like being a jujutsu sorcerer. This is a large part of Ino's honor code, so much so that he refuses to advance to grade 1 without Nanami's approval.
Ino is very young for a sorcerer and gives off a little brother type of vibe, so everyone tends to help him out. When he's around people younger than himself, he has a tendency to show off his jujutsu knowledge and maturity.
When it was time for Ino to step up and lead on Nanami's behalf, he was honored to have someone else rely on him. He took looking after Yuji and Megumi seriously and embraced the leadership role wholeheartedly. In spite of the risk, Ino's positive attitude and optimism helped hype up his team in anticipation for their dangerous mission to rescue Satoru Gojo.
ABILITIES AND POWERS
Overall Skill: Ino is a grade 2 jujutsu sorcerer but his rank does not reflect his true skill level. According to Nanami, Ino could easily become a semi-grade 1 sorcerer if he chose to. He is an exceptional combatant with a very potent cursed technique.
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Ino outclassed an average level curse user in close combat with no issues. However, he caught on to his opponent's plan too late, allowing Granny Ogami to outmaneuver him and activate her Séance Technique. After her grandson shapeshifted into Toji Fushiguro, Ino proved no match in terms of physical prowess.
High Cursed Energy: As a professional sorcerer, Ino possesses high cursed energy levels and has been trained to manipulate his power efficiently. When activating his innate technique, Ino's entire body is coated in surging cursed energy. He can use cursed energy to reinforce his body for close combat at the same time as his technique. Additionally, Ino is capable of sensing other individual's cursed energy fairly well.
CURSED TECHNIQUE
Auspicious Beasts Summon is activated when Ino hides his face by covering it with his mask, turning himself into a spiritual medium. This allows Ino to summon and use the abilities of four auspicious beasts: Kaichi, Reiki, Kirin, and Ryu.
Kaichi: Auspicious Beast number one. Summons a horn with a spiral pattern on it. Can be fired as a projectile cloaked in cursed energy that won't stop until it hits its target.
Reiki: Auspicious Beast number two. Covers Ino's body in cursed water that can be used to cushion him from danger and/or increases his overall mobility.
Kirin: Auspicious Beast number three. Effectively causes intracerebral doping, which nullifies Ino's own sense of pain. However, it also drains his stamina, causing him to become extremely tired but unable to sleep at the same time. Once Kirin has been summoned and the technique completes, Ino becomes immobile for some time.
Ryu: Auspicious Beast number four. Little is known about this one currently. The move was interrupted when he used it against the revived Toji Zenin. Up to that point, nobody had ever survived to tell the tale after fighting Ryu... according to Ino.
CURSED TOOL
Nanami's Blunt Sword: A cursed tool originally used by Kento Nanami, resembling a blunt sword wrapped in a cloth with a splattered black dot design. After his death, it was used by Ino during the battle against Sukuna. It has been imbued with Nanami's Ratio Technique, allowing Ino to enhance the power of his strike by dividing his target with lines and hitting the weak spot at the ratio point of seven to three. It was also durable enough to withstand a kick from Sukuna.

Takuma's surname has the Nanori reading for "wild boar" (猪, i) and the Kun reading for "field, wilderness" (野, no). His given name has the Jinmeiyo kanji and Go-on reading for "to polish, to cultivate one's skill" (琢, taku) and the Kun reading for "truth, genuine" (真, ma).
Takuma is always getting help from others because of his little-brother vibe.
Takuma really respects Kento Nanami after accompanying him on a mission.

Kagome knelt down, her spine straight as she folded her hands to her chest. She closed her eyes to better help her concentrate on a few calming exercises before attempting the first spell. As her reiki flared around her, she heard Inuyasha back up a few paces, although it was unnecessary. He should be safe, although she amended that thought when she felt her energy clash with that of the previous caster. She frowned in concentration, focusing all of her effort on the barrier.
“Try going through now,” she told him, cracking one eye open.
Inuyasha responded by moving as he always did; quickly and with force. He didn't even have time to make a sound before he was being slammed into the wall of the cave, just as he had the first time he attempted to leave.
“Dammit!” he growled, falling to the ground.
Kagome winced sympathetically. He could take more physical abuse than a human, but that didn't make it any more pleasant.
“Sorry! I knew it was too much to hope for--let me try another.”
Inuyasha stalked back to his original position, his pride not allowing him to rub the lump he could feel forming on the back of his head.
Sending him an apologetic smile before closing her eyes once more, Kagome redoubled her efforts, hoping that at the very least, she was weakening the spell.
“Try it again.”
Once more, Inuyasha sprang forward, this time bracing himself as he was flung back.
“This is one case where I’m not happy that I was right,” she sighed, slumping slightly at her failure.
Inuyasha sat up, but wasn't as quick to move across the cave. “This spell has been in place for a long time, and we can't be sure how many people have recast and altered it. It would have been nice, but I guess I couldn't expect you to break it in one go,” he said grudgingly. The last thing he wanted was for her to give up.
“Maybe not, but I won't let this get the best of me!” Kagome replied, her jaw jutting out stubbornly. “There are still plenty of things to try, and I have a friend with scrolls that might help if I run out of options.”
Inuyasha raised an eyebrow. Bold words for the person that wasn't being slammed into the wall at every attempt, but he had to admit, she had guts.
“Let’s go, then. I can take more hits than that.”
Although most of his Marks were now hidden by his clothing, Kagome had an excellent memory, and knew very well just how battered he must have been to earn each one.
“If you don't mind using a human, I know someone who add your Mark for this,” she offered quietly, hoping he wouldn't be offended.
Inuyasha froze, hardly able to believe what she was saying. Most humans thought that Marks were barbaric, and nothing more than a way to brag about the atrocities the youkai had committed against humans. While he couldn't deny that was the case for some, the Marks held a much deeper meaning, and in most cases did not involve humans at all. It was clear that Kagome had an understanding of their significance, but he couldn't help but wonder if her offer wasn't connected to the possible bond between them. He glanced away, unable to meet her eyes.
“Not sure if this is worth a Mark--or one that I wanna remember,” he finally answered.
Kagome gave a light shrug, not wanting to pressure him. “Maybe not, but I didn't think you would be able to resist getting one to rub in Sesshomaru’s face.” She grinned as his eyes jerked in her direction, an answering expression curling his lips.
“Damn, you're vindictive. I might have to take you up on that.”
“The offer is always open. Now,” she sighed, resisting the urge to rub the muscles in her legs that were beginning to protest her position, “Let’s try this again.”
They continued throughout the morning, and then into the afternoon. Each time her efforts failed and Inuyasha went sailing through the air to smack into what was becoming a sizable dent in the cave wall, Kagome felt a horrible sense of guilt.
“Dammit, Kagome!” Inuyasha howled, brushing tiny bits of stone out of his hair, one eye clenched shut while the other glared at her balefully, “Are ya tryin’ to kill me, or get me outta here by tunnling through the other side of the damn cave?”
Abruptly, the feeling passed.

It happened to run into a post of yours about the 5D ascension symptoms and no I'm not here to support that, but I have to say that it is actually possible for certain symptoms to be related to etheric, energetic, metaphysical changes. I had a 1st level reiki attunement, nothing happened during the attunement to me but after a day or 2 I have to say I felt a bit odd, as if I had a cold , but I was actually fully capable of doing everyday tasks , no runny nose, fever , coughing nothing. Everything stopped out of a sudden same as it started.
It's unlikely for every individual on the planet to feel any " symptom" because your , whatever you want to call it, energy body , etheric, astral whether body , needs a big and huge amount of energy to change in some way. I don't believe in these " downloads " and I find this beliefs harmful because someone can dismiss important health issues by thinking they are evolving spiritualy ( but they didn't do anythingat all ), yet I believe your energy, if affected in a positive way can create some " new sensations " in the body.
You can go on and disagree with me or hate me for supporting something that resembles new age beliefs. I know what happened to me, the reiki master assured me I'm ok, and I even went to the doctor, had a covid test only to be told I'm paranoid because absolutely everything is fine with me.
Okay, so.
First of all, there is no way to be sure of whether your symptoms had anything to do with your reiki attunement a couple of days prior. Correlation is not causation. Without proper control and monitoring, there's no way of knowing whether it was the reiki attunement, or whether it was something else - perhaps a mild delayed allergic reaction to something like incense or hand lotion, for example.
Secondly, there is no evidence that spiritual energy actually exists in the particular ways New Agers tend to describe it. It's one thing use words like "energy" or "vibe" in a kind of non-literal sense while also acknowledging that you genuinely don't actually know for sure the nature of what you're working with. It's another thing to insist they are literally electromagnetic energies without doing anything to scientifically demonstrate this.
Third, you say that New Agers who think they're "downloading" DNA upgrades aren't actually doing anything, but this isn't always true. Yes, there are the ones who believe that they don't have anything because solar flares or Schumann resonances or whatever will automatically "upgrade" them, but many New Agers practice meditation and "connecting to source energy." In New Age beliefs, source energy is basically the highest and most powerful form of energy there is. The thing here is, people have been "connecting to source energy" for years and experiencing these so-called "ascension symptoms," but not a single person has ever ascended to 5D.

Kagome busied herself with stretching while the rest of the members filtered into the room. So she was a solid ten minutes early? It didn't mean anything.
Nothing at all.
It wasn't like she'd signed up for this class specifically because of who was teaching it. Biting her lips, she tried not to stare at the doorway, wondering when he would appear. She could feel his youki within the building but had managed not to seek it out with her reiki.
This time.
Coming across Sesshoumaru in the modern era had been a surprise, but a yoga instructor was not at the top of the list of careers she'd ever consider him partaking in. Somehow she still envisioned him clad in armour or brandishing a sword.
She almost hadn't recognized him in the bright pink yoga shirt and matching nail polish.
It had taken him a moment to place her—apparently, Inuyasha had never gone into details about the well—but overall, he'd been happy to see her. If 'happy' was an emotion the former lord of the west felt.
He'd encouraged her to come to the next class at least.
It had been several months since then, and Kagome had gone to all his classes. She'd never been a fan of yoga before, but the way he taught left her breathless, and not just from the way his clothes stretched across his chest.
He'd also somehow convinced the rest of the members that the stripes were tattoos, never bothering to cover them up, and Kagome couldn't help but wonder if his wrists and ankles weren't the only places sporting slashes of magenta.
Even with how flexible he was, the fabric of his clothes never revealed anything more than what he allowed, leaving Kagome's mind running wild with possibilities.
A hush fell over the room as he entered, Kagome's hand raising in a silent greeting as their eyes met. A smirk touched his lips before he addressed the class, turning on his usual playlist as he got into the first position. She followed along, eyes glued to his form as she copied the movements.
His voice was cathartic, though illegal was a more appropriate word, leaving her short of breath for all the wrong reasons. As they got a more complicated pose, Sesshoumaru started walking around the room, adjusting some of the other members before he got to her.
"You have improved," he said softly, claws skimming the underside of her legs. Kagome's stomach clenched as she tried to remain stable, skin tingling from his touch.
"You're a good teacher," she said, shifting into the next pose. His claws dragged once again as he bent over her, lips brushing the back of her ear. She jerked and would've fallen over if he hadn't caught her, easing her back into position.
"You would benefit from a more advanced class," he mused, breath wafting along the back of her neck.
"But you don't teach those ones," she blurted, face turning as pink as his shirt.
He paused for a moment, and she looked up, that smirk on his face again. "Perhaps a private lesson, then?"
Heart hammering in her chest, she nodded, wondering if she was imagining the intrigue in his eyes. He tapped the back of her leg, motioning for her to straighten it, then returned to the front of the room.
Kagome couldn't decide if the fine sheen of sweat on her body was from the yoga or anticipation of what was to come.

For those of you interested in actual Reiki
The Complete Book Of Traditional Reiki is an excellent source as it is written by Amy Z. Rowland, a Reiki master of many forms and a student to a student of Madam Takata and has over 30 years experience.
The book covers some light anatomy for understanding how reiki functions with the human body

Absolutely incredible if you can get your hands on this book it will be your guide through your physical classes all the way into your masters attunement, i saw that with confidence as some one whos been studying Reiki and practicing for 5 years this has been the most helpfull, plentifull, reliable, resource i have found yet. If you see it, dont let it pass you by!
Ontop of that i want to offer this playlist i found to be incredibly helpfull for visual demonstrations to follow along with
I offer this as something meant to go hand in hand with the book. Yes, you can use it alone, but i suggest you pick up the book eventually and give it a read. Especially because this man follows the christian interpretation of Dr. Usuis story, so be aware of that before you listen if you choose to do so.
He also offers resources to look into for studying reiki on your own, including a book simalure to what i show here, but they are not the same i would say stick to one book for now because it covers so much and comes from such a good author, but by all means dig in if thats what you want!

What is Reiki Healing
History of Reiki
The shortest version is Dr. Mikao Usui from Japan developed Reiki in the 1920's, Reiki translates into Rei meaning Universal and Ki meaning Energy.
It is said that Dr.Mikao refers to Reiki as healing energy. It has been used for many years and has gained much popularity over the years.
What can Reiki help with
Reiki is considered a meditative practice that promotes
Relaxation
Reduces stress
Reduces anxiety
Reduces chronic pain and inflammation
Autism
Fatigue
Can speed up the healing process.
What happens during a session of Reiki
The treatment will be given in a peaceful and private setting or at your own home. The client will sit or lie on a comfortable chair, sofa or bed fully clothed. There are two ways in which the therapy can be delivered.
1 -Hands off therapy
2- Hands on therapy
If you are suffering from pain in a particular area, the practitioner will hold their hands just above the area, while this takes place an energy transfer takes place,. The client may feel tingling, heat, coldness are the main feelings reported. The practitioner will hold their hands in a particular position until the energy subsides, they will move on to other areas of the body ,moving through the Chakra's. Some practitioners use crystals to aide the Chakras and also for distance healing.
A session will last around 30-45 minutes, the number of sessions will vary from person to person depending on their client's needs and the outcomes they with to achieve.
Reiki is a non invasive therapy and can be used as a complementary modality with your current treatment plan with your GP or health care practitioner.
No reports of using Reiki alongside other treatments including medications is extremely unlikely to encounter any negative effects or any side effects of any sort. Consult your GP before agreeing to engage in any complementary therapy and Reiki should not be used in replacement of current treatment.
Reiki has a gentle nature and can be help clients to be calmed, relaxed and soothed.
What to wear at a Reiki session
Clean, loose and comfortable clothing, bring a pair of socks as shoes are removed.
Removal of necklaces
After a session of Reiki
It is advised to keep hydrated as the energy being received by the client also helps the cells in the body to regenerate, water will help replenish them
Go for a walk
Sleep
