hey thought. what if the crowbar that barney gives gordon at the beginning of hl2 wasn't actually gordons. because gman stripped gordon of all of his weapons at the end of hl1, how would barney be able to get his crowbar? what if it's just some random crowbar he picked up on his way out of black mesa. what if over the 20 years since, he's convinced himself that it is gordon's crowbar, that he does have something of gordon's to hold onto.

They had all taken to the forests today informally today. Everyone seemed to enjoy the hikes through the scenery every once in a while as to show off their true physical prowess over one another. Especially the younger idiots. Wesley, of course, took his time and hung out at the back of the line, watching everyone as they maneuvered through familiar territory as if it were nothing but a nature reserve they had yet to explore.

When they found one of the clearings, Clover set out lunch while the boys began to toss around a little football Murtaugh had shoved into his bag and had been carrying around all this time. The leader found himself sitting against the base of one of the small oak trees. A well worn book in hand and held out close to his face. He had forgotten his readers.

But the added presence of Aubrey nearby has his inner self raising a brow. He looks up at just the right moment to see her approaching. He was about to invite her, but she was already thinking ahead. And even two steps further, so it seems. When she placed her head in his lap, there is only a soft laugh that he breathes out, one hand immediately reaching down to run along her soft trusses and brush them from her face.

Trafiłem na tego mema niedługo po urodzinach Wila Wheatona. Wszyscy pamiętają być może "Shut up, Wesley!", kwestię która miała uciszać młodego geniusza, bo teraz rozmawiają dorośli.

Wil Wheaton wspominał, że scenarzyści i reżyserzy rzadko traktowali go na poważnie, a częściej jako chodzący rekwizyt. Dodajmy też dział kostiumowy, którego decyzje też były dziwaczne. Nastoletni aktor nie miał zbyt wiele wpływu na te kwestie.

Jednocześnie piętno odgrywania najmniej lubianej postaci (ten poziom przebił później Jar Jar Binks z Gwiezdnych Wojen, ale to marne pocieszenie) musiało odbić piętno na odtwórcy roli.

Wil pojawia się później jako dorosły Wesley, m.in. w drugim sezonie Picarda a także w Prodigy (polska premiera już za niecałe 3 tygodnie), a poza tym możemy obejrzeć go w masie produkcji, np. w Big Bang Theory. Zaangażował się też mocno w ruch fanowski/geekowski, popularyzując planszówki i erpegi czy udzielając się na konwentach. src:

one thing about barton is that he (unfortunately) has the most dead-eyed stare half the time, even when he's describing something extremely traumatic that happened to him, so people may not know whether it's due to the fact that he just doesn't feel like he has ' life ' in him or if this is because he was really messed up by the trauma (it's both. it's both in most cases)

Like, I know @wilwheaton hates that line. I know why he hates that line.

But I never thought about what it would be like to not just not be told to be silent, what it would be like to be ENCOURAGED to speak.

I was a precocious kid. I read shit way beyond my comprehension. I had opinions with implications that I couldn't possibly have understood. I was encouraged by adults to read and take in information.

I was NOT encouraged to share my opinions on that information.

Good kids regurgitate, we don't question. And I definitely internalized some feelings about being told to listen and not talk.
