Rick Astley recalls vandalizing his dressing room sign — and security blaming Noel Gallagher

Despite his best intentions, Rick Astley admits that he once let Noel down. The "Never Gonna Give You Up" singer recalled inadvertently getting Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher in trouble for a crime he didn't commit in his autobiography Never. Astley and Gallagher were among the English musicians who played a benefit show commemorating the reopening of Manchester Arena in 2017. The show raised funds for a memorial for the victims of a terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert at the same venue earlier that year. "It was a real honour to be asked," Astley recalled in his book. "It was incredibly emotional, of course, but it was also really good fun." The singer developed an unusual tradition over the course of his career. "I'd got into the habit of graffitiing my own dressing-room sign: I'd write underneath my name so that instead of saying RICK ASTLEY it now said RICK ASTLEY IS A TIT," he remembered. "It had become a kind of running joke at those gigs. It was a daft, piss-taking thing to do to kill the time backstage." Old habits die hard, and Astley pulled the same move at the 2017 event, which caused a problem for another performer. "I did it to my dressing-room sign at the Manchester Arena and didn't think any more about it until I saw Noel Gallagher's security guy quietly ripping down the sign with my name on it — presumably in case I saw it and became offended — and I had to go and sheepishly tell them that I'd graffitied it myself," Astley wrote. Unfortunately, that wasn't the extent of the drama. "Later, Noel Gallagher told me he'd had a bollocking from the guy: he'd burst into his dressing room and accused him of bullying other acts on the bill," Astley explained. "When he said he didn't know what they were talking about, they said someone had written an abusive message on Rick Astley's dressing-room door and they assumed it was him; Noel's always been known for his forthright opinions about other artists."

"Eddie Redmayne has heard all those criticisms of his controversial performances. The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor reflected on his divisive turns in some projects in an interview with Penn Badgely on his podcast Podcrushed".

"I have a history of parts that I've played, that have been problematic in some of those choices, and I've spent a lot of time ruminating on those things and wondering what I would do differently," Redmayne said.

NCIS fans, get ready to see Gibbs like you've never seen him before.

CBS announced Friday that its flagship procedural is getting a '90s-set prequel series, NCIS: Origins, which will follow a younger version of Mark Harmon's beloved character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, as a newly minted special agent making a name for himself at Camp Pendleton. While Harmon will be returning to the NCIS franchise to narrate and executive-produce Origins, he won't be starring — which raises a big question.

Who should play young Gibbs?

Of course some major names come to mind, guys like Glen Powell and Austin Butler. But they're securely movie stars at this point and not likely to commit to leading a network show. (There's also Harmon's son, Sean Harmon, who has played a young Gibbs on NCIS, but he's exec-producing Origins with his dad.) So, the EW staff has some ideas about who should be your grandma's next crush.

Lucas Till is already in the CBS family and proved he can handle an fan-favorite prequel character with MacGyver. Plus, that jawline screams young Mark Harmon. —Sydney Bucksbaum

Lily Gladstone uses she/they pronouns, and says that they represent a way of resisting colonial structures.

“My pronoun use is partly a way of decolonizing gender for myself,” the Killers of the Flower Moon actor told PEOPLE, adding that using she/they pronouns is also a means of “embracing that when I'm in a group of ladies, I know that I'm a little bit different. When I'm in a group of men, I don't feel like a man. I don't feel [masculine] at all. I feel probably more feminine when I'm around other men.”

Gladstone also explained how her gender identity reflects their Indigenous heritage. “In most Native languages, most Indigenous languages, Blackfeet included, there are no gendered pronouns. There is no he/she, there's only they,” the actor explained. Gladstone has both Blackfeet and Nimiipuu heritage, and grew up on a Blackfeet reservation in Montana.

Gladstone’s nuanced relationship with gender began at a young age. “I remember being 9 years old and just being a little disheartened, seeing how often a lot of my boy cousins were misgendered because they wore their hair long,” they said. “It happens to a lot of kids, I think, especially Native boys leaving a community where long hair is celebrated [and then] just kind of getting teased for it…So I remember back then being like, everybody should just be they...."

AND the penny drops. Spreading a personal belief based on a child's decision is not 'nuanced'. It's ignorant. The long hair thing? Racism and prejudice. No one with a drop of sense is going to misgender a Native American just for long hair. Blogger with the ancestry of several tribes, here. I know what I'm talking about. So here we go, again.

And by the way, Lily Gladstone isn't just Black feet. She's also the ancestor of a former British Prime Minister. Now, you know. Another actor, who didn't just 'appear out of nowhere'. She was helped. Anything and anyone that Hollywood can use to keep pushing Gender Ideology.
