THEM EVILS Declare War on 2020 Carnage with Explosive Single & Live Video for "Pour Out Another One"!
Huntington Beach, CA based Heavy Rock band THEM EVILS is tearing into 2021 with their newest, party anthem single “Pour out Another One”! Produced by Jim Kaufman, the live video for “Pour Out Another One” was directed and edited by the band’s own David Delaney.
youtube
“Pour Out Another One” is best described as an anthemic middle finger to what COVID-19 has done to the music industry over the course of the past year. After linking up with Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft (Escape The Fate) and Aaron Edwards, we wanted to write a song that embodied the attitude of just saying ‘f*ck it, let’s throw a few back’ and party our way through this.” – Jake Massanari
Click HERE to Purchase / Stream “Pour Out Another One” Online!
Them Evils are kicking down the doors with their new party anthem “Pour out Another One”. A song that evokes a message that people can relate to now more than ever. As COVID-19 continues to keep the world from enjoying day-to-day pleasures in life, the band knew this was the time to show that it doesn’t stop them from keeping the good times rollin’. Whether it’s the struggle to survive or just celebrating the time we have.. ‘Pour Out Another One’ is proof that the life of the party never dies.
In 2020 Them Evils managed to put out 2 singles during the national lockdown, “Where Ya Gonna Crash Tonight?” and “Coattails”. Each song shows off the band’s diversity in songwriting and achieving individual success through online streaming platforms.
Their previous EP Rollin’ Stoned and Livin’ Free was enthusiastically received with placements on Key Rock playlists at all major streaming services, and the band supported that release with more than 100 live dates in 2018 that included a national headlining club tour with stops at Shiprocked, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, and main stage @ Rock On The Range. 2019 saw the band supporting Pop Evil, Of Mice and Men, The Black Moods, and He Is Legend, as well as festival appearances at Exit 111 and Rock USA. Positive Press looks were posted at Kerrang, Loudwire, AXS, Rock Revolt, Alternative Addiction and others that added to the band’s critical acclaim.
The band plans to continue touring as they soon as they can safely do so, with tours and festival dates currently being explored for 2021!

Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, Avenged Sevenfold Headed to Jacksonville’s Welcome To Rockville
By: William Clark
Rock fans looking to take a trip out to the Sunshine State would be pressed to find a more fitting experience than the 8th Annual Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville festival. This year’s three day outdoor music event, set for April 27-29, 2018, is well primed with a lineup of monolithic metal proportions, featuring scheduled performances from such respected axe slingers as Zakk Wylde, Steve Stevens, Synster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, Dave Grohl and Michael Paget.
Each year since its formation in 2010, Welcome To Rockville has developed a strong reputation for uniting Floridian metalheads with massive lineups at the Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville. 2018 proves to be no exception by bringing together acts like alt rock heavyweights Queens of the Stone Age and Clutch with rising talent in bands such as Greta Van Fleet, Them Evils and Spirit Animal.
While the weekend is sure to be jam packed with high voltage rock and roll, Welcome To Rockville 2018 holds that much more relevance for dedicated rock fans as it will also serve as one of the stops for heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne on his ‘No More Tears 2 tour, which is set to stand as the Prince of Darkness’ final major trek.
“I’ve been extremely blessed to have had two successful music careers,” Osbourne says.  “I’m looking at this final tour as being a huge celebration for my fans and anyone who has enjoyed my music over the past five decades.”
Day One (April 27) revolves around performances from Ozzy Osbourne, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, The Used, Parkway Drive, Underoath, Trivium, Atreyu, Power Trip, Texas Hippie Coalition, ‘68, Palisades, While She Sleeps, Bad Wolves and Them Evils.
Day Two (April 28) features appearances from Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Breaking Benjamin, ??? (to be announced), Hollywood Undead, Killswitch Engage, Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria, Sevendust, Pop Evil, Andrew W.K., Avatar, Butcher Babies, Red Sun Rising, Joyous Wolf, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Stick To Your Guns, Palaye Royale and The Wild.
Day Three (April 29) caps the event off with sets by Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Idol, Clutch, Bullet For My Valentine, Thrice, Greta Van Fleet, Baroness, Quicksand, Red Fang, The Sword, The Bronx, Turnstile, The Fever, Black Foxxes, Fireball Ministry and Spirit Animal.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Thrice
Tumblr media
Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville is shaking things up for its eighth year, all for the better. Event producers Danny Wimmer Presents have added a whole extra day to the event allowing for a host of other amazing bands – both established and up-and comers – to rock festival goers. April 27th, 28th, and 29th of 2018 will see what has long been billed as “Florida's biggest rock experience” return to its home at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. With that extra day and the dozen plus additional bands that have been added to the lineup, Welcome to Rockville now seems poised to become one of the most elite festivals around. Not just in the realm of hard rock and metal, but all music festivals in general. 2017 was an exceptional year for Welcome to Rockville, the event drawing a record crowd of 75,000 over its two-day run. The talent was superb that year, and that will carry on into its 8th installment, because the amount of talent that has been assembled is mind-blowing. Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… Thrice is back with a vengeance. At least, that’s sure how it seems. After a three-year long hiatus and four years away from any major touring, the quartet made their return in 2016 with a new record. And while it made sense that they would do some touring to support it, fans no doubt presumed they’d be taking more time off after that year. But no.
Headline tours, co-headline runs, and supporting acts such as Rise Against, Thrice has done it all within the last couple of years, and 2018 is shaping up to be another fairly busy year, thanks to a few festival appearances like this one at Rockville. Best of all, Thrice will be making Welcome to Rockville just a little more special, since it is the first of only two festivals they’ll be playing in the U.S. this spring. Upon making their return, the released one of the strongest records of their career, 2016’s To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere touching on some all too relevant social and political issues, raising thought-provoking questions for listeners to ponder, while backing the messages with some robust, in-your-face music beds. With that era behind them, expect a more all-encompassing set from Thrice at Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville. A set that will surely draw from several entries in their catalog, and one that is certain to be teeming with that immense energy they’re known for as the look to leave a lasting impression on everyone at Rockville. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $85 for 1-day GA | $200 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Stone Temple Pilots

Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… It has been quite some time since Stone Temple Pilots did any substantial touring, or even any performances in general, the amicable departure of Chester Bennington back in 2015 forcing the iconic group to plot their next move, fans wondering who would be tapped to front the group next.
It took a few years, but as was recently announced, Jeff Gutt has been chosen by Dean and Robert DeLeo as well as Eric Kretz as STP’s lead singer moving on; and this upcoming era sounds like it will be quite something. At least, that’s what “Meadow” sure suggests. The first single from this latest version of Stone Temple Pilots comes across as being classic STP. At the very least it provides some nice nods to their roots while looking at their future; while Gutt’s voice at times sounds eerily similar to that of the late Scott Weiland. He possesses that classic rock star voice, which bodes well for the band moving forward, and should be quite nice when it comes to performing the classic cuts fans know and love, ensuring they’ll be as close to the originals as possible. What Stone Temple Pilots will have in store for everyone at Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville is anyone’s guess, but expect at least a couple of new offerings mixed in with the hits. They’ll be using the spring festival circuit to really push this new lineup, though they have several shows lined up in the month of March. So, when STP arrives in Jacksonville, they will be in prime touring and performing shape. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $85 for 1-day GA | $200 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Greta Van Fleet
Tumblr media
Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville is shaking things up for its eighth year, all for the better. Event producers Danny Wimmer Presents have added a whole extra day to the event allowing for a host of other amazing bands – both established and up-and comers – to rock festival goers. April 27th, 28th, and 29th of 2018 will see what has long been billed as “Florida's biggest rock experience” return to its home at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. The talent was superb that year, and that will carry on into its 8th installment, because the amount of talent that has been assembled is mind-blowing. Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… After a few years spent honing their craft and finding their groove, along with happening into some fortunate situations (such as having the song "Highway Tune" featured on an episode of the Showtime series Shameless), 2017 has been the banner year that Greta Van Fleet has been chasing after. And it’s almost certainly just a sample of things yet to come for the band that hails from Michigan.
The four-piece outfit has gone from being known in certain circles to one of the most buzzed about groups of the day thanks to their no-frills approach to rock ‘n’ roll and the release of two EP’s during the year, the latest of which, From the Fires, combines the four tracks from their first EP with four new cuts. A stark reminder that rock music is alive and well, the Kiszka brothers (Josh, Jake and Sam) and Danny Wagner have found their voice by taking cues from some of the greatest classic rock icons. Think Led Zeppelin-esque. Josh Kiszka belts out the lyrics in a similar manner, his voice being distinct thanks to the high range he commands, while a decent amount of guitar solos populate their tracks, further reinforcing that classic style. Hell, “Flower Power” – their ballad – sounds like something straight out of the ‘70s, particularly in regards to the title. Nevertheless, Greta Van Fleet doesn’t come across as a band hoping to spark some sort of revival in the classic rock genre, nor are they just simply nostalgic for those sounds. It’s the style that best suits these four musicians. It’s them playing to their strengths; and while it may have a familiar and classic vibe, Greta Van Fleet’s music still boasts some modern touches as they work to leave their own mark on something that is otherwise tried and true. The hype around these guys is just going to continue to build, so Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville should provide a good opportunity to catch Greta Van Fleet while they’re still climbing the rungs towards global success. They’re bound to achieve that one day, as they possess that certain “it” quality that every truly remarkable band has. Make sure you witness it firsthand so you can still claim that you saw them back when. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $85 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Five Finger Death Punch

Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… It’s not news that Five Finger Death Punch had a bit of a tumultuous 2017, particularly during the middle of the year. That doesn’t need to be discussed. Besides, any and all fears or doubts in the minds of fans’ have been quelled (or is washed away a better phrase to use?) by the return of frontman Ivan Moody as they kicked off a string of fall shows in the U.S.
Back in top form, they dominated the fall festival circuit in the U.S., returning to Europe to wrap up 2017; and 2018 is appearing as if it will be just as extensive for the modern metal band that has become a sensation. 2017 marked their 10th anniversary since the release of The Way of the Fist, a milestone that was celebrated by a best of record, A Decade of Destruction. It features a couple of brand new songs along with all of the highlights from 5FDP’s first ten years together. That celebration will no doubt bleed over in the first part of 2018; and on top of that, a new record is expected from the group sometime in the next year. Because of that, it’s safe to assume you’ll hear something new from Five Finger Death Punch when they help close out the opening day of Welcome to Rockville. “Trouble”, for instance, or perhaps even something else. Known for their intense performances, Zoltan Bathory, Jeremy Spencer, Jason Hook, Chris Kael, and Moody never hold anything back during their aggressive, in-your-face sets, and they always seem to excel in festival environments. Events like Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville allow them to streamline things a bit and inject even more ferocity into the show. Expect to be rocked. Thoroughly. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $85 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: He is Legend

Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… A band poised for breakout success for some time and arguably one of the most underappreciated acts in existence, He is Legend should be growing their cult-like fan base exponentially as they go into 2018, especially thanks to events like Welcome to Rockville.
They’ve toured extensively and are no strangers to the festival stages, though you’re just as likely to catch them in a small club, the masses still not having caught on to the greatness He is Legend has been cranking out for over a decade now. Of course, there is something to be said of a smaller but dedicated following, and thanks to those supporters the Wilmington, NC-based band was able to create their latest record, few being made possible due to a successful crowd funding effort. Because of that, Schuylar Croom, Adam Tanbouz, Matt Williams, and Denis Desloge have seemed to go the extra mile, putting more of themselves into the music than ever before in order to create what should be considered their most spectacular release to date. Similar in some regards to their past efforts, few also ushers in a new era for He is Legend; the record traversing an intriguing soundscape of straight up rock ‘n’ roll to heavy and hard-hitting riff-oriented numbers. Some of their stoner metal influences are even present at times, yet everything is contagiously melodic, even if it is buried deep within some aggressive percussion or striking chord progressions. Their style is all-encompassing, allowing He is Legend to be versatile while retaining their heavy, gritty edge that serves as the defining point of the music; Croom punctuating all of that with his superb set of pipes. Pristine to angry and even brooding and haunting, he can capture it all, further ensuring that the songs wash over the listener and immerse them into a different world. He is Legend is a live band, one that thrives on having audiences to entertain, not wanting to disappoint the die-hard fans and simultaneously wanting to deliver a spectacle in order to make some new converts. Expect something monumental from He is Legend when they take the stage at Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville, and make certain you’re there early enough to witness it. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $85 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Wolf Alice
Tumblr media

Event producers Danny Wimmer Presents have added a whole extra day to the event allowing for a host of other amazing bands – both established and up-and comers – to rock festival goers. The talent was superb that year, and that will carry on into its 8th installment, because the amount of talent that has been assembled is mind-blowing. Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… In the midst of supporting Queens of the Stone Age on their spring tour of the U.S., Wolf Alice will also be joining them at some of their festival appearances. That includes Welcome to Rockville.
If you’re not yet familiar with the rock/indie outfit from London, then you’re missing out on one of the most riveting bands of the modern era as they make their ascent to being one of the most highly regarded acts out there. And Wolf Alice becoming a household name is well within the realm of possibility. If you’ve seen them, you understand why. For those who haven’t, their performances are as mesmerizing as they are intense. They’ve crafted something that possesses that airy quality that is often associated with the indie style of music and combined it with the intensity of rock, the final product being something that is very much their own sound. That’s best appreciated in the live environment where one is able to let the music wash over them and get lost in the fine nuances of it. When necessary, they can let loose like no other, though. For example, take “Yuk Foo” from the recently released Visions of a Life. It’s sheer rock ‘n’ roll, a festering anger permeating throughout it. It may set the bar as their most blistering number, though even Wolf Alice’s more restrained cuts translate differently from how one might expect, being commanding and energetic. Ellie Rowsell, Joel Amey, Joff Oddie, and Theo Ellis contribute to that further, the musicians leaving it all on the stage when they perform. Both of their full-length records peaked at number two on the charts in the UK; while a couple of singles from their 2015 debut charted respectable spots on the U.S. charts. The point is, Wolf Alice hasn’t yet caught on here in the U.S. as much as they have in their home region. That will change, and probably sooner rather than later. These festival appearances, like at Welcome to Rockville, will surely provide a big stride for them in making that happen, as they give everyone a crash course in who Wolf Alice is and what they’re about. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $85 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: TOOTHGRINDER
The talent was superb that year, and that will carry on into its 8th installment, because the amount of talent that has been assembled is mind-blowing. Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… With metal roots, originating as more of a metalcore band, TOOTHGRINDER has made dramatic leaps lately in pushing their creative boundaries and evolving their sound.
That’s demonstrated exceptionally well on the newly released Phantom Amour, the second LP released by the quintet that hails from Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Love it or hate it, the changes provide a freshness to TOOTHGRINDER’s music without them fully sacrificing that components that first drew fans to them. The tracks from Phantom Amour display a sense of mastery over the melodic nature that is instrumental in making a song stand out. Despite that, their heavy nature still seeps through, be it in the guttural screams that vocalist Justin Matthews unleashes at the times where it best corresponds to the emotions being conveyed, or the thrash-y riffs that are the hallmark of metal music. It’s a couple of conflicting styles, for sure, but that allows TOOTHGRINDER to be nothing other than absolute. Absolutely serene and heartfelt or absolutely vehement. For the most part, there’s no in-between; the group’s progressive stylings further injecting a sense of freshness into the music, as it feels like a new twist on the prog metal/rock genre. They even pull off the acoustic songs exceptionally well as they tackle some ballad-esque songs. It’s just an all-encompassing style they’ve developed, one of those rare bands that’s capable of making those various styles feel as if it’s all natural for them; and as a result of expanding their horizons, they’ve become stronger musicians. That’s a fact that is more than noticeable. TOOTHGRINDER has toured with the likes of Periphery, Between the Buried and Me, and Killswitch Engage just to name a few, so you know that they’re legit. And expect them to leave it all on the stage when they perform at Welcome to Rockville. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $75 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: The Bronx
That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… Have you ever attended Welcome to Rockville and thought to yourself, “I would love to hear some punk today?” If so, you’re in luck this year, as The Bronx will have you covered.
All you have to do is listen to a song or two to understand how the band was able to catch the attention of record labels right out of the gate after their inception in 2002. And secured a deal. They’re genuine punk rock, having that garage quality that has long served as the basis of the best punk. They’re also versatile. From hardcore punk that personifies the defiant nature the genre was founded on, to transitioning to a more solid mix of punk and rock, Matt Caughthran, Joby J. Ford, Ken Horne, Brad Magers, and David Hidalgo, Jr. are unquestionable masters of their craft. Take two of the singles from (V), their fifth studio album released this past fall. “Two Birds” boasts some killer riffs, the song overall being a bit melodic; while “Sore Throat” is as aggressive as they come, an ideal song to mosh to. Caughthran’s voice is harsh and brutal on that latter track, epitomizing the true nature of punk; the pummeling percussion bringing out the best of the devastating song that offers a glimpse of reckless abandon at its finest. The Bronx did some heavy touring in the fall in support of that new record, both in the U.S. and even Australia, so while they’re appearance at Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville will come several months after, they should still be in great touring shape, any and all of the new songs they might have planned for spectators being worked in and executed to their high standards. With all of the other monstrous talent that is part of this year’s Welcome to Rockville, it will be easy to just eye the headliners this year, though that would be a mistake. Especially in the case of The Bronx, because it’s already certain that they’ll deliver a show that will be one of the most talked about of the entire weekend. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $75 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Turnstile

Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… Known for their dynamic performances and thanks to an almost unrelenting touring schedule, Turnstile has already won over a respectable amount of fans, the band that hails from the Northeastern U.S. only hoping to expand that when they take the stage at Welcome to Rockville.
A hodgepodge of several genres, it’s hard to confine the band to just one or two. Their music is pretty groove centric, which offers a wider appeal to even the most casual music listener, yet there are some hardcore tendencies that evoke more of a punk mentality. On that note, there’s also a reckless abandon displayed in their music, like on their debut LP, 2016’s Nonstop Feeling, which, one can imagine, is what makes their live shows so memorable. And going off of the opinions of some, spectacular. They also employ the use of some rap rock traits; and while Turnstile has refined their sound a bit since the release of their debut EP back in 2011, they haven’t lost their edge or their grit. Their material still possesses a DIY quality that allows them to present themselves as an underground band that’s on the outs and proud of it, not compromising themselves or their desires for anything, obviously doing what they want to do with their music. If you like your music hard and heavy, then Turnstile will be right up your alley and one that should definitely be on your list of acts to see at this year’s Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $75 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: The Fever

The talent was superb that year, and that will carry on into its 8th installment, because the amount of talent that has been assembled is mind-blowing. Next spring, Rockville will almost certainly attract 100,000 or so music fans and it WILL sell out. That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… For those who like Rage Against the Machine, then The Fever will be one band you have to see at Welcome to Rockville.
The three-piece group fit that mold well, though there may be some more melody to parts of their songs, such as the hooks. Other than that, they’re straight up rap rock with hefty doses of metal influences thrown in; some nu-metal style riffs seeping their way into songs like “Hunting Season”. Despite the similarities, The Fever’s music doesn’t come across as them trying to mimic musical idols or anything of that sort. Rather, they have a message to share, the members clearly having decided that this mix of genres was what was most behooving of the style they wanted to pursue and the one that would give said messages the most potency. With a total of three singles currently available to purchase and stream (their latest being “Walking in My Shoes”), The Fever is clearly looking to address some of the most topical issues that are currently going on in the U.S. and even the world in general. In the case of “Hunting Season”, it’s an explosively charged song that revolves around the rise in police brutality, while “We’re Coming In” follows a similar path. Greed and corruption are also touched upon on their most recent release; a punk edge being prevalent throughout “Walking in My Shoes”. The Fever will definitely offer a different listening experience to attendees of Welcome to Rockville; and in a time where rap rock is mostly a relic that is seldom heard in modern music, the band’s reception may be mixed. Really, that’s always been a genre people either love or dislike, with little middle ground to be found when it comes to listeners. Nevertheless, The Fever should deliver a killer performance, their music feeling conducive of something extreme and even off the charts. And if you listen, you may even gain some perspective on a few things thanks to the different viewpoints their music offers. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $75 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Black Foxxes
That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… Hailing from England (getting their beginnings from Exeter, to be precise), Black Foxxes will be a band at Welcome to Rockville) that will be looking to start winning over an American audience. They shouldn’t have any trouble doing so.
Classifying themselves as a Depression-Pop band (though a rock group first and foremost), the trio provides a refreshing sound that American music lovers should be clamoring over. It’s “Depression-Pop” because the songs focus on real emotions that are rooted in sadness and convey, what else, depression. (“How We Rust” from their 2016 debut LP I’m Not Well is a prime example of that, singer and guitarist Mark Holley channeling his raw emotions into his passionate singing.) What makes Black Foxxes immediately stand out is how primal they are, being sheer rock ‘n’ roll the likes of which you don’t hear often these days. Couple that with the lyrics, some may well even consider them to be an emo band, and strictly in that regard they may kind of be, though nothing about their overall sound is similar to that style which was prominent back in the early and mid-2000s. Instead, to an extent, they take influence from classic rock groups, though there’s an obvious modern edgy quality about their style, which is often so ferocious that it seems impossible that a three-piece band could be making that much noise. Black Foxxes make some authentic music. Just gritty and in-your-face, like what real rock is and has always been meant to be. By the time they get over to the U.S. for this festival appearance, they’ll have their sophomore album with them. (It’s slated for release early 2018). Make a point to see them, because Black Foxxes may well be the next great thing in the music world, and they’re still just cutting their teeth. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $75 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.

The Bands of Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville 2018: Fireball Ministry
That said, let’s look at one of the bands that will be performing there in late April… In a few instances, a different class of bands will be performing at Welcome to Rockville. Different doesn’t necessarily mean new, but rather artists who haven’t appeared as often in the past, if ever at all. Bands that people might not expect to see on the lineup, which should do a great deal to inject a sense of freshness to the festival. Fireball Ministry will be one of those bands, further diversifying this vast lineup. Their brand of heavy metal that thoroughly mines the stoner metal vein will provide festival goers with a more unique experience over the hard rock and metal bands that will be on tap; and one can already envision a throng of Rockville patrons banging their heads along to the heavy, even sludgy riffs that are the driving force behind Fireball Ministry’s music.
Armed with new music in the form of Remember The Story (their first release in more than seven years), fans should expect at least a few cuts from it along with some longstanding hits from the other parts of their nearly twenty year long career. This latest release serves as a reminder that they still haven’t lost their edge, being at the forefront of the heavy and stoner metal (sub)genres, keeping the music polished without sacrificing its power or grit. The drums and bass provide the core; the guitar riffs being just as authoritative, the end result being something that demands your attention, the music striking enough that there’s no way you could turn away. These veterans of the music world will most likely have an early set time when they hit the stage at Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville, but they may well wind up working to their advantage. Fireball Ministry will surely be the first band that really wakes everyone up and prepares them for what will the rest of the day will hold, and if so, that will be quite an impression to make. Event Info: Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29th at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL. All ages. $75 for 1-day GA | $189.50 for GA Weekend | VIP packages are available.
