Dear everyone,
It is with an intense emotion that today I am announcing my choice to put an end to my career with the French National team.
After many years of passion, challenges and unforgettable memories, it is time for me to turn the page !
Those years spent defending the colors of our country were among the most enriching ones of my life and gave me the opportunity to live emotions out of the ordinary.
I’ve had the immense honor to wear this jersey, the pride to defend our colors with fervor and the happiness to share those memorable moments with my teammates !
Each game, each victory, each challenge have forged not only the player but also the woman that I became.
I want to thank my teammates, my coaches and their staff, and everyone that supported me throughout my journey and made it possible…
You were my family on and off the field !
I will always keep in mind the incredible memories we shared and will stay proud of what we went through together.
I want to thank my loved ones that have always been there and never stopped supporting and encouraging me, I owe them everything !
Finally I would like to thank the supporters for your love and your precious support during all those years.
Although I retire from international competitions, my passion for football is still intact. I will keep supporting our French team and cheer on the next generation of talents so that we can finally lift our first trophies.
I love you.
Amandine Henry

Normally, you're happy to visit the Head Housemaiden's office. You've dedicated your life to Change since you came to the House, and she's guided you for many of those years, first as a teacher in various courses you took and then as a mentor as you made more and more Changes. She was even considering naming you as her successor, as her hair loses its darkness and she feels ready to take new Changes more slowly and languidly than most practicing Housemaidens. But right now, she looks at you with pity in her eyes, and you feel ice in your stomach.
"I've noticed a Change in you, Euphrasie. I'm not sure if you're aware of it…or perhaps you are, but didn't wish to talk about it," she says, adding on that last bit as some twitch in your face betrays you.
Your hands wring each other in your lap. "I'm sorry," you say.
The potential for Change is a motivating force for the faith's adherents. But all but the most innocent children know that Change is not always good. Change requires Destruction, and Change is not always voluntary or desirable.
This Change is terrifying.
"I should have told you when it started, but I thought perhaps I was just tired, or stressed--I thought it was temporary, or that I could Change to be able to work around it, but--" It's getting harder and harder to explain yourself as tears choke your throat and spring up in your eyes. You wanted to give yourself time to adapt, and in so stole time from Amandine. She could have had another successor picked by now.
"Euphrasie." Amandine reaches an open hand across her desk, and you take it. She gives your hand a gentle squeeze, and when you look at her through the haze of tears you glimpse her kind smile, one you've striven to emulate. "I'm not upset, only concerned. Changes of the mind can be very difficult to cope with, and I'm worried you've been trying to deal with this alone."
It takes at least three more minutes of crying before you can speak again. Amandine can surely discern the answer from that alone, but she waits patiently for you to speak again, her thumb rubbing over your hand in a calming gesture. "I--I didn't know what to say," you admit. "I'm--forgetting my tasks, forgetting words--I'm worried I can't even be a Housemaiden anymore, and I don't want that. I love being a Housemaiden! It's all I've ever wanted."
"You will always be welcome in this House, Euphrasie. Never doubt that," Amandine says, and you grasp onto those words even if they're not quite enough. You want to be a Housemaiden still, you want to help others Change, you want to remember. The number of things you've forgotten of late makes you feel so hopelessly adrift. "We need to figure out what is causing the Change. That's the only way to address it properly. You might still be right that it's a temporary issue of stress, and I think a break from duties may be good for you. It may be a health issue, and I do hope you'll get a check up soon and let me know if there's any support you need from the House if the physician finds anything. I was also wondering if it might be…"
She's considering you uncertainly, and you feel a new wave of trepidation wash over you. "If it might be what?"
"I don't want to hurt you by asking," she says, immediately grimacing at herself. "Let me put it this way. You say you've only ever wanted to be a Housemaiden, but is that right?"
"…Yes?" you whisper.
"I don't mean to doubt you," she says, and you wait for her to continue because you don't know how that's supposed to be anything but doubt. "Euphrasie, I remember you being different from most Housemaidens because you made a major Change before formally becoming one. I remember you had a different name, and came from a different land, and converted from a different belief. But when I try to think of the details, I get the biggest crabbing headache." She smiles in an attempt at lightheartedness, but her brow is wrinkled with worry. "But I am getting older myself. Am I wrong? Were you always a Vaugardian, an adherent of Change?"
You open your mouth to say yes, of course you've always been, it's all you remember--
"Who were you before you came to this House?"
That's such an easy question, and you start over again to tell her.
And then you start again.
And again, and again, fresh tears spilling out of you as you start to tremble. Amandine squeezes your hand. "Forget I asked, Euphrasie. Please. Breathe. Please, I'm sorry--"
How can you forget? Now that you've glimpsed how vast and yawning the hole in your mind is, how can you forget? "I can't remember. I can't remember, I can't, oh Change, I'm broken--"
Amandine's hand leaves you briefly as she gets up from her chair and circles the desk to hug you. She has to bend down a little, with you still sitting, but not very far. She's on the shorter side, and you're rather tall. Why are you tall? You don't know. You don't know. You don't know why any part of you is the way it is. You grab onto her like you're drowning at sea.
She rubs a hand on your back, soothing, and waits for you to cry yourself out as if you're the child you can't remember ever being. The shoulder of her dress is thoroughly soaked by the time you run out of tears, still shuddering with horror. There's a headache raging through your skull. You slowly manage to open your arms and let her go, though you're relieved that she doesn't let go of you completely, keeping a steadying hand on one shoulder.
"I'm going to help you however I can," Amandine promises. "You started forgetting things about two months ago, didn't you?"
You have to think hard through the pounding headache, and your throat feels too dry to speak, but you manage a nod.
"That fits, then…Euphrasie, I think you're from the island that vanished two months ago."

TIME TO INTRODUCE A MARIO OC AND HER KINGDOM
THE PRINCESS:
So this is Amandine, the princess ruling over the Heart Kingdom. She’s cheerful, optimistic, bubbly and kind to the people she meets, even though she can be sometimes an airhead who forgets some important things. She’s a hopeless romantic who wants to fall reaaally deeply in love with someone, she still haven’t met her soulmate though, but she doesn’t give up. She also loves roses, and writing.
HEART KINGDOM LORE:
The whole kingdom relies, both vegetation and inhabitants, on one being: Kardino. He’s a huge heart-shaped creature who lives deep inside the underground of the castle. Just like a normal heart, he’s constantly beating to give energy to the whole kingdom, without ever failing to the task.
He looks intimidating with his gigantic size, but don’t worry, he’s a gentle giant who wouldn’t hurt a fly. He’s only able to communicate through bellows that only the royal family is able to understand. It is the reason why their dynasty rules over the kingdom, meaning they have two main duties: leading the kingdom and taking care of Kardino. As for now, the royal family consists of the princess Amandine.
Kardino is also the father of all Kokoras, the main inhabitants of the kingdom. All Kokoras are born thanks to a little burgeon in Kokora town, directly connected to Kardino. It also happens that more powerful Kokoras are born, who have much more magic than the average. They’re simply called the Great Kokoras, and form the royal council in the castle.
(The current Great Kokoras, from left to right: Bravelt, Orkus, Karell, Maurik and Jennia)
THE LOCATIONS OF THE HEART KINGDOM:
The Heart Castle and Kokora Town: The castle where Amandine and the Great Kokoras live, and the town where all Kokoras are born, and where a lot of them live in. While there are towns in the other areas of the kingdom, this is by far the one where most of them live. As for the castle, it is also the only known access to Kardino’s cave.
The Rose Fields: Located in the middle of the map, the Rose fields connects every areas between them. As it’s name suggest, this is also where we can find most Rose Flowers, the kingdom’s equivalent to Fire Flowers. When used, it makes you able to shoot thorns towards enemies, but can also extends to a platform when shot in a wall.
The Mirror Mountain: Located in the northwest of the kingdom, it is an ice mountain which iced walls are actually mirrors. In the cave on top of the mountain, the many mirror walls inside reflects all the different forms and outfits people have worn and been through their life. Touching one of the mirrors will result in remembering all the memories linked to the form or outfit.
Heartwoods: Located in the west of the kingdom, it is an huge forest composed of heart-shaped trees that also looks like Kardino. The deepest parts of the woods are shrouded in a very thick fog, and who knows what could be there…
The Sugar Desert: Located in the south of the kingdom. Have you ever dreamed of a desert made out of sugar instead of sand? Well, your dreams came true. Though, it is still as hot and as suffocating than a regular desert. The Kokoras there live nearby an oasis, which itself is also nearby the Pastry Temple, in which, lots of pastries and cakes are made without anyone working. Sure sounds like a dream for people with a sweet tooth.
The Rainbow Falls: Located in the east of the kingdom, it consist of mountains that serves as the sources for the rainbow colored falls. It is a place of scenery and a very popular place for painters to paint. Some interpret the rainbow falls as the acknowledgement that anybody can love anybody, in a kingdom that reminds a lot about love with it’s heart theme.
The Poison Volcano: Located in the northeast of the kingdom, it consist of, as the name suggests, a volcano containing poison instead of lava. It is by far the most dangerous place of the kingdom, because not only the poison is dangerous, but the area is filled with a toxic gas due to the poison. Kokoras who goes there to extract minerals and tourists who wants to visit all have to wear a mask to protect themselves from the gas, and the only one who’s immune to the poison and gas is Orkus, one of the Great Kokoras. Venenous mushrooms have also been known for growing there.
And uhhh I think this is it! I hope you like it!

I'm the anon from the plushy-familiar ask. See, while I was writing that ask I got to wonder about something I often end up asking many IF authors: names, and naming conventions.
While I do appreciate the fact you've given suggestions in game (there is nothing worse for me, someone who likes to name my MCs in a way that fits the world as much as possible, when a fantasy game does not include suggestions for names), I'm also someone greedy for knowledge. So, I came here to ask about names.
As I have noticed, most humans seem to have rather common names that could fit in our world. Names like Arthur, Tobias or Liam. That said, those names all have different etymological origins. Arthur is celtic (most likely, is not entirely certain), Tobias comes from Hebrew, and Liam is germanic (as is a short form of William). So, would it make sense to have names like Tom, John, Richard, Henry or Duncan for a human male? It so seems to me. Basically, names that could make sense in medieval England (although Liam feels very modern to me, yet is the name I chose for my MC simply because I like how it sounds, but I may change it later).
Yet elves seem to have especial fantasy names. While both Dwarfs (courtesy of Tally) and Orcs (courtesy of Corden, if I'm not mistaken) have real world names, just very unusual.
So, I was wondering. Given how MC is likely given a human name, both because our mother is choosing it and because we are supposed to blend in amongst humans, am I correct on my observations? Or do you have a more complex, or more free, way of seeing how to name human characters? Like, are human characters also able to have fantasy, or uncommon, names?
In any case, unless it's too much of a bother, could you give examples of names you've considered giving as a suggestion for MC? Or names you think would make sense for MC to have in world? You already gave some in game, so you don't have to do this. I'd just like to know your thought process behind it.
there's no real reason why I chose these names, I think I just chose them because I like them.
although Liam actually comes from a character in one of my fanfics that will never make it onto Tumblr. Tobias is for a video game I used to play on DS when I was little. and Arthur because I love King Arthur.
I also wanted to suggest ESCA for the character of the Eagle of the 9th Legion, played by Jamie Bell if I remember correctly. so now it's true that I tend to use English names, but I think that's because I write in English. When I write in French, I tend to use French names. it's not out of the question for there to be characters with more French or other first names as the story progresses. in general naming characters is a pain for me, I hate it and tend to use generators
it's true that when it comes to skiing the names of orcs and elves, I tend to be a little more exotic.
if the names of the dwarfs may seem a little banal, I do have a kind of reason - I don't know if you've noticed, but I only use names beginning with T. Tally, Tallion, Telio, Tazio, Troye. and there's a reason for this: the deity to whom the dwarves are attached is called Telemandir. As far as humans are concerned, I think any name can be used.
as long as they're fairly old names, I mean, I wouldn't want to have a Kevin in my world. 😆 as for the elves, I like to have sounds that are a little musical, so Lessica, for example, is pretty, I think.
as for the orcs, I think I found the name Corden in the game Banish. if I remember correctly, but I have the impression that there's a sort of pattern emerging since one of the other orcs I have in mind who comes from the cardan family is called Oren.
Another piece of information I can share with you, for example, is that the Princely Family ruling men, their first names all start with a K.
it's a tradition that's been going on for a little over 300 years. The men decided to give up their crown and their title of king and queen to take only that of prince, since Amandine was acting up.
Another small piece of information but MC has a human name chosen by Eliana but he or she also has an elven first name chosen by Ash.

You get some Ou bien dans les étoiles commentary, of course:
“Have you eaten at all today?”
Of course he had, and Ragueneau knew it all too well; Le Bret was not one to let hunger devour him, to squeeze suffering and verses out of a weakened stomach. The baker fed him either way, tartelettes amandines and meatloaves and a constellation of croissants; twice as much as needed, whisked and sprinkled with twice the love.
“You did not edit the punctuation, did you?” Always with the questions, with the nervous protectiveness of a genuine friend. “He would hate that. He would hate that so much.”
“Of course not. I am merely trying to decipher this mess.” After Arras, Cyrano’s handwriting had become hurried and tight, as if he feared a shortage of paper and time; sweat and ink stained the corners of his manuscripts, tears and blood in their own right. “I don’t trust publishers to transcribe it correctly.”
“You found someone, then?” Ragueneau’s voice lifted toward the ribbed vault; below his cassock, the canon’s shoulders sank. “Oh, the world will love him so! How could it not, when it knows him like we do?”
Le Bret smiled, a pathetic half-moon of dulled teeth, and bit into a chausson-aux-pommes.
The whole point of Le Bret is that he’s just A Normal Guy. He’s not Cyrano, never will be, his preface cannot possibly do his friend justice and his editorial choices (censoring/altering certain paragraphs or facts about his life, as Actual Le Bret allegedly did) are something so not “admirable en tout, pour tout” that Cyrano’s ghost would probably strangle him if he could.
But! It’s because of these choices that Cyrano’s works were published in the first place. Even a human, flawed effort is still worth something in its own right.
Food deprivation was an integral part of Cyrano’s greatness, so it was very important to me that Le Bret eats. The act of eating anchors him as someone who is profoundly mediocre compared to our favourite Gascon (Cyrano -> moon symbolism -> “a pathetic half-moon of dulled teeth”), but it is also because he takes care of himself that he is able to bring his project to a close and ensure Cyrano’s memory is preserved. Because being alive gets things done.
It’s also a nice occasion to see Ragueneau again, supporting him in the way he knows best, and recognising him as a poet in his own right through the act of feeding him 🥺
Thanks for the ask, beloved! 🖤🪶

The Innocent Sleep Reactions
So many spoilers
I knew Tybalt was having a rough time, but somehow I wasn't expecting it to be that rough. "I need to contact a firstborn. Time to jump off a cliff" Toby needs to hear about this. (Along with Amphitrites threat to turn Tybalt into a nudibranch if he tries it again.) Look, Eira. You wanted your descendants to be ambitious, and I think "murdering Titania" qualifies. You should be proud of Patrick. ...And the Undersea looked at the night haunts and said "meh. We can do worse". Titania writing fix-it fic with peoples lives and memories: absolutely horrifying. The fact that this is an established habit of hers, that an entire race of faerie is aware of and has traditions around: actually kind of hilarious. (And still horrifying, don't get me wrong. I am laughing and screaming.) I want to know everything about the Libraries now. (Titania doesn't have a card, and I am dying)
Genuinely love the fact that Tybalt has spent enough time interacting with the mortal world to see the value in cleaning out a Costco. I love Theron and Chrysanthe so much. (Just "Welp. We're going against Titania. We're gonna die. We'll do it, but we're gonna die".) Man, Amandine is terrible at being told "no". Like, that's not news, but throwing in with Titania to remake faerie so she can basically mind-rape August into being her pet perfect, loving daughter again is just...ugh. Titania, I know you suck at parenting, but still. Thinking that "[Amandine] agreed to raise the babe as if it were her own" is something other than a dire threat is an almost impressive failure of understanding. Seriously, Tybalt needs to stab Amandine until she stops being horrible. Or at least until she stops squirming and can be stuffed in the sack with Eira and Titania. Those three deserve each other. (Fuck. I think Amy actually deserves Titania more than Eira does. Eira didn't have a choice in being Titania's child.) I am so glad that "at least some of faerie knows what therapy is" has already been established. (Poor Quentin.)
Grianne and Garm were unexpectedly delightful. I hope we see more of them in the future.

Injury || Sammy Lawrence x OC (Joey Drew’s daughter)
Word count: 1744 words
|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|
Amandine Drew sat in the front seat of her father's car. They were driving to the animation studio on the other side of town.
"So, tell me again why we are doing this?" Amandine asked.
"Because it'll be nice for you to see your old man in action." Joey Drew ran a hand through his blonde hair.
"I've been there before though."
"Yes, when you were younger, a child." Joey glared at Amandine through the corner of his eye. "Everyone wants to see how well you've grown, especially Sam."
Amandine scoffed. "Sammy Lawrence?"
"Yes, him." Joey pulled the car into the underground parking garage. "Well, we're here." Amandine opens her car door and starts to walk away.
As she sees the entrance to the studio, memories flood her mind. The last time she accompanied Joey to work was when she was five years old. But now, she was twenty one, sixteen years had passed.
"It looks the same." She commented before Joey opened the studio door leading her in. Her eye drifted everywhere, the Bendy cutouts, the projector in the main room and employees sitting at their desks in their offices.
Joey placed his hand on Amandine's back leading her to a small office to the left. A brunette man was sitting straight while sketching a crooked smile. Joey tapped the man's shoulder snapping him out of his work-induced trance. "Henry, you remember my daughter Amandine right?"
Henry Stein looked up from his work and turned his chair around. His brown eyes looked into Amandine's blue ones. "Yes, of course, hello again Amandine. Wow, have you grown."
"It's only been sixteen years since I was last here."
"Sixteen? Holy hell, you're quite the woman now, I see."
"Twenty one and thriving."
"Excellent."
Joey turned to Amandine and opened his mouth. "Amandine, why don't you look around the studio while Henry and I talk business, okay?"
"Okay." Amandine said before walking away.
~~~
As Amandine explored, she saw a black haired woman writing something at her desk. She rose her fist to the door and knocked. Through the window, she noticed an Alice Angel cutout leaning against the wall. She was the voice actress for Alice.
"Come in." The woman's voice was soft but seductive.
"Susie?" Amandine asked.
Susie Campbell turned around. "Oh my days! Amandine Drew?" She stood up, walked over to her and held the Drew woman close. "How are you? How long has it been?"
"Sixteen years."
Susie let out a soft gasp. "Sixteen years? You were five, so that means, you're..."
"I'm twenty one, twenty one and thriving." Amandine smiled brightly.
"Oh shush, I feels so old." Susie ran a hand through her dark curls. "Look at you, you're so beautiful, clearly you're Joey's daughter."
"And you're still Alice I see?" Amandine leaned against the wall observing the Alice Angel cutout.
"Oh yes, I actually had a wonderful lunch with your dad the other day, he has high hopes for me."
"I hope Alice is as popular as Bendy someday." Amandine commented.
"Funny how Sammy Lawrence said the same thing."
"Never doubt Sammy." Amandine squeezed Susie's hands. "He's usually never wrong."
She looked around Susie's office. Her fingers ran along the wood on the walls occasionally tapping her fingertips to various songs.
"So, is Sammy here?"
"Yep. Everyone is." Susie twirled her finger through a curl. "There's a new episode we're working on, nearly finished."
"Ooh, tell me." Amandine sat down on another chair beside Susie's desk.
"Well, Alice befriends Boris the Wolf, however...there's an Evil Alice."
"Twisted Alice." Amandine uttered.
"Yes. How did you know that?"
"I saw drafts on my dad's desk at home." Amandine cleared her throat. "She looked terrifying."
"Not to question your father, but does he really think adding evil characters will be best?"
"I question him all the time. And plus, kids love the happier side of Bendy and his friends."
"The happier side of Bendy sells more tickets, I agree." Susie picked up a sheet of paper. On it was a sketch of Alice wearing a black dress, and her black hair curled down to past her chest.
"You're still voicing Alice right?"
"Of course!"
"I'm going to head downstairs, see you Susie!"
"Bye, Amandine!" They hugged tightly before Amandine left the office.
"Nice lady."
~~~
Amandine continued walking through the halls before finding a room with a metal machine. Curiously, she approached it. The sign above it read: INK MACHINE
As she approached the break room next door, she noticed six pedestals, six objects on them: A music disc, a bottle of ink, Joey Drew's original memoir The Illusion of Living, a gear, a wrench and a squeaky Bendy doll.
She picked up the Bendy doll and squeezed it. The doll squeaked and a smile lifted on her lips.
As she put the doll back down, a man walked in.
"Amandine Drew? Is it really you?"
She turned around and saw Jack Fain, the lyricist standing in front of her.
"Jack Fain? The lyricist? Is that really you?" She asked in the same tone as Jack.
Jack Fain was a tall man who wore grey trousers with red suspenders, a white button up shirt, orange vest, brown bow tie and bowler hat.
"It's been so long since Joey brought you here." Jack hugged Amandine lightly.
"What is all of this?" Amandine gestured around the room.
"Curtesy of your father. He's lost his mind." Jack explained as he looked at the ink machine and the pedestals. Candles covered the room.
"T-this wasn't here last time."
"A lot has changed in sixteen years, Amandine." Jack paced around the room.
"What about...everyone else?" Amandine picked up the doll.
"Sammy Lawrence is...devoted to...Bendy."
"Bendy? What do you mean?"
"He prays to him, sends offerings, draws pentagrams everywhere."
"Offerings? Like what?"
"Bacon soup cans."
"I need to see this for myself." Amandine walks out of the break room and opens a door which leads to a staircase.
~~~
As she walks down it, bits of ink pour from the ceiling.
"Aah!" Amandine screamed as she tripped down the stairs. She landed at the bottom with the sound of a bone breaking echoing through the staircase. "Damn it! Son of a bitch!"
She looks up and sees a sign that says MUSIC DEPARTMENT. Also known as Sammy Lawrence's department.
As she slumped on the floor, her eyes started to close. Through her blurred vision, she saw a brunette man wearing yellow suspenders approach her.
Sammy Lawrence.
"Amandine Drew, so the rumours are true." He crouched down and saw Amandine's rapidly swollen and broken ankle. "God, what happened here?" His eyes then look at the slightly flooded stairwell. "Oh, that's why."
Amandine let out a quiet whimper and cry. Her eyes looked up at Sammy.
"S-Sammy?"
Sammy crouched down and picked her up. His hands were soft and held onto her tightly.
"Let me help you with that ankle of yours. It needs medical attention."
Amandine's eyes kept fluttering closed. Her hand rose to her pounding head.
"My head." She groaned. "Everything hurts."
"Easy there." Sammy leads her down to the studio's infirmary underneath the music department. "You're dizzy from the adrenaline, just lay back and keep still."
Sammy's soothing voice causes Amandine's panic to rise. Her eyes glared down at her ankle which was swollen and broken. A scream exited her lips.
"Shh, shh." A finger rose to Sammy's lips as he leaned down towards Amandine's face. "Quiet, it's okay. I'm here to take care of you."
"I thought you only worked on music."
"Well, I've taken up medical care as well."
Amandine swallowed nervously. Her fingers dwindled rapidly.
"S-so, Sammy, is it true...about Bendy?"
Sammy's face froze.
"What about Bendy?"
"That you pray to him? Worship him?"
"Who told you that?"
"Jack Fain, the lyricist."
"Well...he's not wrong." Sammy picked up gauze and a cast. "Bendy is my saviour."
Amandine swallowed nervously. As she opened her mouth, the only words she could muster were stutters.
"H-how did t-that come to be?"
"Well, when you create something, you believe in it. It can become real you know." Sammy started working on Amandine's ankle. "It could possibly start to claim you, possess you, take over."
"The soup cans?"
"I steal them from the back. Besides, not everyone is fond of bacon soup."
~~~
Amandine laid in the bed resting her ankle. Sammy wrapped it up and applied lots of heat and ice. As she looked around the infirmary, she noticed music playing.
Her hands reached for a pair of crutches beside the bed. She grabbed it and started limping towards the source of the music.
Her eyes glanced upon the sign on the wall that said RECORDING, and walked upstairs. The sign on the door said PROJECTIONIST BOOTH, OFFICE OF NORMAN POLK.
Amandine knocked on the door.
"Norman?" The crutches clicked against the wooden floor as Amandine leaned against them. The door opened a few minutes later showing a man wearing dark clothes.
His hair was matted to his head, glistened with water.
"Well, well, Amandine Drew. I thought I recognized you." Norman held his hand out for Amandine to take. "Come in, come in."
Amandine limped into the projectionist booth. Norman notices her injury.
"My, what happened to your ankle?"
"Stupid ink flooded the stairwell."
"Stupid ink machine." Norman muttered. "Always causing injuries and misfortunes."
"Does this ink machine...have to do with my father?"
"Yes, Joey installed it without any of us noticing." Norman explained as the projector started rolling. "After all, who needs that much ink anyway?"
"And the pedestals in the break room?"
"You saw those?"
Amandine nodded answering Norman's question.
"Well, Joey, has changed. He's gotten more...cautious about his leadership abilities. People have started to doubt him, I even heard someone might be getting fired."
"Fired? Why? Who?" Amandine's eyes widened in shock at Norman's statement.
"I wish I knew." Norman sighed before pulling out a chair for Amandine. "Anyway, sit, sit. That ankle must be killing you."
Amandine sat down and overlooked the balcony where the band sat on bunches of chairs playing instruments. In the recording booths, Amandine spotted Susie speaking into an overhead microphone.
As Amandine looked closer, she spotted wetness in the corner of Susie's eyes. Almost as if she was about to cry. A ticking went off in Amandine's head. Her eyes widened again.
"Oh no. I know who's getting fired."

It's Time for Scream about New Book!
The Innocent Sleep + bonus Novella. But with spoiler tags, because I'm not a monster
(The tag lets everyone block things right? I am inexperienced at the Tumblr.)
I have a lot to say, and I'm glad we got the look at what the spell looked like from the outside. Some things I noticed:
Tybalt noted that Berkley was always independent, and that while most people assumed it was because of the university, it was not.
Confirmation that 'Eira' was Karen Brown, but a further mystery of what role Cassandra was playing.
It seems like Titania took three days to get some things straight; Raysel and Tybalt were booted as soon as possible, but the Cait Sidhe spent 3 days stuck in the Court before the 'we have always lived in the castle' thing hit.
For someone who was always about refinement, Titania really got lazy, or just assumed that since she caught Oberon and the Luidaeg off guard and Maeve continues to be MIA, she didn't have to care about the details herself since it was only 4 months. Because a lot of people seemed to key into 'this makes no sense' when confronted with it. As soon as Grainne realized the Cait Sidhe were alive, she connected 'that's why Candela can still access the Shadow Roads -- we couldn't be sustaining them ourselves. Gabriel noted that there shouldn't be this many thin-blooded changlings among the Cait Sidhe if they'd been trapped for centuries without contact with the mortal world. Even Toby herself -- with a double dose of the illusion -- had the realization that she would have had to have cut herself once during a childhood, but she never remembered it.
Since I assume Quentin was the intended sacrifice, having 'Evening' taking a more active role in his fosterage to create the illusion that he had seven years of paradise probably didn't help. (I also wonder if Titania edited out the memory of his sister; Quentin was pretty miserable in Shadowed Hills in canon because he knew what having someone close to you and equal enough to call you out on things was like, in addition to 'Sylvester is not doing well'. )
(I do appreciate the irony that Titania gave Amandine what she thought she wanted -- look, here your husband and daughters all love you, and everyone is willing to flatter and celebrate you... because you are the only one who can sustain Faerie as Titania made it, so get to work. Probably because Amandine's bloodworking meant she could penetrate the illusions, so she needed something to buy her off, with the promise that once the spell was anchored in the Heart of Faerie, they could reopen the doors to deeper Faerie and Amandine wouldn't be needed.)
... I probably should be breaking some of these up. This is getting long.
I also liked the novella. Which... Helmi noticed that the magical signature during the Earthquake was 'roses and wood smoke'... that's August's signature. (Well, roses and 'campfire smoke' but close enough. Unless the source isn't August but is part of the explanation for why Simon's magical signature is unlike Sylvester's despite them being twins.) (Also Mary stating that the Roane were only sure about Dianda's daughter after Simon started having sex with Patrick and Dianda, and the daughter's magical signature including whitebeam flowers when Simon's has whitebeam smoke seems to suggest that the daughter will be biologically Simon and Dianda's.)

An Artificial Night Re-Read: Part 7
Hello again! This is the last part for An Artificial Night. Let's see where it goes:
Chapter Twenty-Nine:
Tybalt and May's relationship is another one I would be interested in seeing how it developed over the two months Toby was missing.
When Toby mentions that Amandine could've saved up to help save her, Tybalt says that Amandine had disappeared *again*. That could mean that she's disappeared more than once, but I took it to mean that she'd been around recently. I can't remember if we got confirmation that the answers Tybalt was looking for re: Toby came from Amandine or not. Did he find her at this time and then she disappeared right after?
'Maybe the long pause had been good for my magic, because it felt like my illusion came together more easily than normal.' Is this a hint that undergoing the transformations shifted Toby's blood slightly?
'I wound up between Connor and Tybalt. They kept glaring at each other over the top of my head. I had a pretty good idea of why, but I didn't want to deal with it.' I'm not sure you do have any idea why they're doing it Toby; in fact, given that you continue to insist that Tybalt doesn't like you for another, like, two and a half books, I'm pretty confident that you don't!
May mentioning how hard it was for her to get Spike to eat vs. Toby telling Acacia it wasn't that hard to look after him (right after Acacia told her how hard it was to keep rose goblins alive) makes me think about Toby and her almost endless capacity to care about people, and how Toby probably doesn't understand that about herself at all.
I forgot how unpleasant Rayseline was in the first few books.
First time Toby drinks the Luideag's blood.
Chapter Thirty:
I don't have anything to say about this chapter, but *man* Seanan McGuire's prose is SO good.
Also her writing is really cinematic and I want a TV show so so sooooooooooo much.
Chapter Thirty-One:
Toby actually thanked Sylvester for loaning her his sword, but I'm pretty sure that was a mistake given that three pages later Sylvester thanked her and Toby acted like it was a big deal.
I think this is the last book that Toby needs her injuries bandaged.
Thirty-Two:
Every time Toby mentions that Luidaeg doesn't need to worry about robbers, I imagine a mortal thief breaking into her house and both the thief and the Luidaeg being just. SO confused about what's going on.
This chapter's so sad; Quentin loved Katie *so* much. I know that it never would've lasted, for a lot of different reasons, but Katie (and Quentin) deserved better than this.
I think Quentin choosing to let Katie go hits a little harder when you know that he's the Crown Prince. He's not just letting go of a mortal lover; he's acknowledging that he never would've been able to be with her forever. (This might also be why he's willing to date Dean; he already knows that he's able to give someone he loves up when he needs to.)
Thirty-Three
Every time Jessica turns up in this book, it makes me sad. She's just a little girl! She only has five more years! She never got to come into her own and get fully free of Blind Michael!
This chapter is giving me a lot of feelings about May and Stacey's relationship too, and how terrible the Stacy-is-Titania revelation would've been for May too. Stacy was the first person from Toby's life who accepted her without hating her first; that must've been such a blow to lose.
'As far as the state of California was concerned, I'd always had an identical twin sister. Bet Amandine would be surprised to hear that one.' I don't think she'd be as surprised by that as you'd think Toby.
Neither Tybalt or Connor have talked to her since she came back from Blind Michael's: It's fine. It's fine! It's fine. It's. Fine.
Even knowing what comes in the future, this is still a lovely ending. At least they got to have this moment.
That's it for An Artificial Night! (Whoo, finished by the skin of my teeth!) I might get to Late Eclipses between the next two books, but we'll see; it's just as likely that I'll be recovering from them emotionally until December. Either way, see you next time!

I wrote a little thing! also starring @the-littlest-kojin
Dark Visions:
“Hey, can you go clear out some voidsent in this cave? They keep attacking the nearby village.”
Lizzy furrows her brow, “That doesn’t sound too hard, sure?”
She looks at Shio who just shrugs.
Lizzy adjusts her nouliths, making sure they’re functioning properly. Omi would kill her if she got injured because she wasn’t doing proper maintenance. If she died due to it, she does not doubt he would come into the aetherial sea to kill her again.
The pair set out to the cave to clear out the voidsent. A pretty standard mission.
Lizzy asks Shio, “What kind of voidsent do you think are here? Surely they gotta be special if normal adventurers can’t handle it.”
Shio shrugs again, “Dunno, can’t imagine it’ll take long though.”
--
As the two enter the cave it seems normal enough, couple imps here, couple ghosts there. The cave was bigger than anticipated, but no issues arise.
Until Lizzy encounters the visage of her adoptive parents standing in front of her.
Lizzy freezes as they begin to talk, voices tainted with a ghastly echoing.
Amandine starts signing, “Oh look. It’s her.”
The disgust in the tone of her signing sends pangs of guilt through Lizzy.
Shio is saying something, but Lizzy is unable to hear.
Simon says, “Ah yes, the daughter we didn’t want, but took anyway. How useless you became.”
Lizzy tries to shake her head free of the ghosts.
She sees Shio stop talking, but start signing. Slowly.
“They. Aren’t. Real.”
They aren’t. But the feelings they dredge up hurt more than anything she’s felt before. Tears begin streaming down Lizzy’s face.
She tries to use her calming aura on herself, to no avail.
Shio steps in front of her, between her and her parents.
She signs, “We saw your parents. In the aetherial sea, remember? At the aitiascope.” Lizzy notices visible aether swelling around Shio, Shio continues to sign, “They were proud of you. They love you. Remember that.”
The punctuating signs cut the air like daggers.
Lizzy tries to focus again.
Simon’s voice hits her horns again, “Do you really believe that?”
Lizzy’s eyes begin to drift behind Shio again, before Shio signs, “No, look at me. Your parents are not here. We are in a room by ourselves and voidsent.”
Lizzy closes her eyes, tunes out all sound. Concentrate.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
A vicious mocking laugh echos against the cave walls.
“Who are you to try and calm your compatriot?”
Lizzy doesn’t recognize the voice. She sees Shio glance behind Lizzy’s left shoulder, but then refocus back on Lizzy.
“You?! Give me a break. You couldn’t save Noraxia. It’s your fault they even died! Pathetic. Warrior of Light? You’re not even a real Kojin. You’re a fake. An imposter. Pretending. You couldn’t save anyone. You cause death. You’re nothing. I’m better than you. I wouldn’t have let Genbu get injured. I thought he was your Idol? Your God. You have no strength. It’s all borrowed from me.”
Lizzy feels out the aether around her. She tunes herself into her surroundings. Pushing out all the useless noise and visual data.
Focus.
Concentrate.
Lizzy’s nouliths fly out, and send beams shooting through the fake visions taunting the pair.
The illusion fades, and the cave walls reveal them standing in a ritualistic room. An Altar stands before them.
A voidsent floats, bored, above the altar.
Lizzy sends her nouliths out, but an Axe finds its way into the voidsents face first.
The voidsent cries out, “DID YOU THROW YOUR FUCKING AXE?!”
Lizzy glances at an axeless Shio.
The voidsent sends a fireball at Shio, only to get blocked by Lizzy’s shield, allowing Shio to charge at the voidsent.
She leaps into the air, and lands on her axe handle.
Lizzy nouliths singe the voidesents flesh, distracting it enough for Shio to pull her axe out of the voidsents head.
It cries out again, sending fireballs scattering across the entire room. Lizzy pulls Shio close to her, and surrounds the pair with a stronger shield as the barrage of fireballs hit it.
Shio charges again, leaping once more at the voidsent, and cleaves it in half, with one solid strike.
Lizzy senses the visceral rage oozing out of Shio.
Shio hears a small jingling in her right horn, as Lizzy’s noulith dances around her.
“I’m ok.” Shio says, evenly.
“Mhm. Sure. Was that therapeutic?”
“Not quite.” Shio smashes the altar with her axe, and carves the ground where sigils lay, “Now I’m ok.”
The two leave the cave.

cAn we pEtitOn to stop....
Can you lot stfu, just cause your favs are injured doesn't mean a whole ass competition has to stop.
The world doesn't revolve around you. Quit your word ass para-social relations and grow tf up
Well hello there my little ray of sunshine ❤️
We’re not sad because our favs are out. Take a browse through my profile and you’ll know that my favs are alessia Russo and Alexia Putellas and news flash: they’re still playing in the tournament. Now that facts are laid out let’s delve into why I said what I said.
FIFA turned down a 26 player roster and so far we have lost so many players to injury like: Sam Kerr, Mary Fowler, amandine Henry, wendie Renard, Keira walsh, Athenea del Castillo, Teresa abelleira, Jennyfer Limage and so so many more. The players are dropping like flies.
We’re worried about the players health not our favs being out. Many players have said that they’re scared to set foot on the pitch because of injury. That should not be the case.
Anyway, I hope you have a lovely day/evening.
Lots of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I Guess I Miss(ed) You (Amandine Henry OLPlay Exit Interview)
I think two things can be true at the same time: there is a legitimate debate as to whether Amandine Henry forged Olympique Lyonnais into her image or whether Olympique Lyonnais forged Amandine Henry into their own; and Amandine Henry fucked over the love of her life out of spite. The two are not mutually exclusive. In some ways, it's what makes this love affair so messy and complex. Isn't that how all proper breakups go?
Sonia Bompastor has a ton of faults but if we're being honest with each other, everything that she has said about Amandine Henry's attitude towards Lyon thus far has been correct. I don't think Sonia Bompastor is a particularly good coach. I also think she was telling the truth about Amandine Henry.
Anyway. As I said, when a relationship has lasted as long as Henry's did with Lyon, it was only going to end one of two ways: cemented in stone as Telefoot predicted back in 2015, or messy, bitter, and complicated. As Taylor Swift once mused, "did this love affair maim you, too?"
Based on the exit interview, both Lyon and Amandine Henry would probably answer as follows: yes, it did.
Two vindictive sociopaths wanting to keep score on the other? How could you not look at that and think, well, yeah, of course it would end this way. Neither party really knows what their life will look like now that the other walked out of it completely. If we're being honest, neither party wants to.
Alexa, play "I Hope" by Gabby Barnett.
AMANDINE HENRY OLPLAY INTERVIEW
Henry: Well we are here today to say goodbye. Not farewell but goodbye because I will soon be leaving the club. It's been 16 years that I have been at Lyon. And yeah, it's time for me to spread my wings and fly away, and sign with another club. And obviously it won't be in France, but in the United States, in Los Angeles. And I am happy to have experienced all these years at Lyon. And I'm happy to try new things elsewhere.
Timothee: This was a really important page in your life, I can imagine.
Henry: Oh yeah, yeah. It was a big part of my life. 16 years, it's not nothing. I came as a little girl [she was 17], and now I am leaving as a woman. So I learned a lot of things, be it on the field but also a lot off of it. I, yeah, I matured. I also caught the Lyon DNA, the winning mentality. I have won an enormous amount of trophies with the club, with all the players, all the coaches. So yeah. There's a lot of emotion.
Timothee: Do you know the number of games you played for Lyon? [Henry exhales] Roughly?
Henry: 360?
Timothee: There are six too many, 354.
Henry: 354, yeah.
Timothee: You're third behind Wendie [Renard] and Eugenie [Le Sommer].
Henry: Yeah.
Timothee: It shows the extent you wore this jersey, the extent to which you made your mark in this history of this club.
Henry: I don't know if I made history. But in any case I was here for a long time. 350 games, sorry, 354 games, it went quickly. But things definitely happened. And yeah it hasn't really sunk in for me. I think it will only sink for me later. But yeah. Between the Champions League, all the Coupe de France, the leagues.. There was a lot of things.
Timothee: Well, unfortunately the last time we saw you on the field, I think a lot of people were afraid after they saw the images. Me included, you included as well I imagine. Is everything better now?
Henry: Yeah, the knee is healed, everything is good. [Note that Le Progres had reported that Henry was fit to play the last games of the season but refused to do so because she didn't want to risk injuring herself before the transfer to Angel City]. I can play again, no worries. It's true that I was more scared than anything else. But that's also part of your career as a player.
Timothee: That's good to hear. It doesn't happen often so I guess we'll take it. When you came here as a 17-year-old, did you expect you would only leave 16 years later, with more than 350 games played and I think 30 trophies if my maths is correct.
Henry: No. No, I didn't imagine that would happen at all. When I arrived, I remember I came here for the first time with my parents, I had just left Clairefontaine [French national football academy]. And actually I cried. I was crying and my parents were like "why?" And I was like, "well this means I am never coming home." And I think that's when I understood that Lyon would become my life. I didn't think it would be 16 years though. 16 years is a lifetime, if we're being honest. And now I think I am going to cry because I'm leaving. But - [Henry's voice cracks]
Timothee: It's half your life, exactly.
Henry: [voice cracking] Yeah. Yeah, that's huge.
Timothee: It's huge when we look at how the story got to this point. There are so many clips of wins, so many clips of happiness. It's pretty exceptional. I imagine you realize that.
Henry: No, I don't think I've really let it sink it, because I'm still involved in it. I think it will be once my career is over, when I've retired, that I will be like "it's true, we've experienced so much together, all the players, these exceptional teams." [Henry's voice cracks again] And the Champions Leagues, obviously. The first one we won together. And as you said, there was an enormous amount of sacrifices, but yeah, it was all worth it, because - yeah. Beyond the trophies, it's about emotions. Those will stay with you.
Timothee: That first Champions League, the first one Lyon won. Can you tell us about it? When we talk to players about it, they all say that that one was special. If I remember correctly, the previous year, it was complicated for you.
Henry: Yeah, I missed the penalty. If I had scored we would have won.
Timothee: And then that happened.
Henry: And then we won. And when you win it for the first time, it's exceptional. I remember it was at Fulham. When we scored, the celebrations after. All the players, all the staff. Yeah. The Board of Directors were there, the employees. It was a moment of glory.
Timothee: In reality you had a pretty symbolic career in women's football. You experienced it all. You experienced the beginnings when everything was just becoming professional, Lyon's rise as a powerhouse, you were there for that. Well it was in part thanks to you. The media aspect. You saw all that grow.
Henry: Well I remember, when I came as a 17-year-old, we didn't even have our own locker room. We had to go home with our stuff. It wasn't even professional contracts. And then there was the big stadium, everything became professional, there was a massive evolution at Lyon. When I look at when I arrived and now when I'm leaving, a lot of things changed.
Timothee: You were really at the core, everything happened in front of your eyes.
Henry: Yeah, I experienced all that.
Timothee: You witnessed it all. Do you realize that you made history? Well, Olympique Lyonnais Feminin made history. But you as well. You're part of the names written in the history books.
Henry: I don't know. I hope Lyon won't forget me, because I will remember everything I experienced. After, we're all just anecdotes. But I think our names will be in the history books because we were first players at Lyon to have won the Champions League, and won so many trophies. And I don't know - well I hope I made a good lasting impression.
Timothee: I don't think Lyon will forget you. It's important to highlight it wasn't always smooth sailing, and there was a severe knee injury early on which could have ended your career. It's a story you've told before, but it's important to remember it's something you had to go through.
Henry: Yeah. When I came to Lyon, they detected a cartilage problem in knee in the first year I was there. I had to be operated on. And when I met the surgeon, he said that the operation wasn't standard and that I might never be able to play professional football again. And maybe that's what motivated me, because I got it in my head that if you want to do something, your body will follow. But it wasn't easy, that's for sure. It was a roll of the dice. Either I came back or I wouldn't be able to play again.
Timothee: Do you think that's what forged your mentality, the one we know you for?
Henry: Oh yeah. That's for sure, because if you say I'm not going to play football again, you're taking away my reason for living. It was everything to me. I was living, breathing football. And yeah that shapes you, because you know you're so close to not be able to play football again. In those difficult moments you just have to say to yourself there are worse things in life, and that you haven't done all this for nothing.
Timothee: And exactly, that mental strength that you have, it's what makes you stand out. It allowed you to have some exceptional performances, with always that will to win and that ability to basically play at any position. It can't always be easy as a player, because you're the one that has to bail the team out, but you're also in a team, and that's really valuable. It's so important to have players like that.
Henry: Yeah, it's true that I have played a lot of different positions. But after, it was to help out the team so I was happy to do it. And after, it's also the Lyon DNA. You do what it takes to win. You can ask any player who has been here, you can tell there are moral values that have been passed on. That desire to win is so engrained in you, even for the smallest thing, the smallest thing in practice, the smallest practice game, you have to want to win. And that's what the Lyon DNA is.
Timothee: And what would you makes you able to play basically any position?
Henry: No, I can help out, but - I mean, I tried. I think that when you like football, you learn to adapt. And I was well surrounded as well. I had good teammates, good coaches who gave me confidence.
Timothee: You're also a player who shows up in big games. I remember the games last year, the double confrontation against PSG in the Champions League. You just show up in big games. How do you explain that ability to step up in the big games?
Henry: Because you have to push yourself. When you're playing the big games, you're often in the big stadiums, the pitch is perfect. There's everything in place to play a big game. So that's it. It's simple really, when I leave the hotel and we're heading towards the stadium, even in the bus, that's where I think everything comes into play. During the trip, my heart starts racing, you're feeling all the emotions, and then you go into automatic pilot. And that's why I like football, it's for the big games.
Timothee: The more important the game, the stronger the emotions. In reality it changes you.
Henry: Yeah, exactly. That's it. It's - yeah.
Timothee: And of course, the perfect example of that is the final [against Barcelona].
Henry: Yeah, that.
Timothee: And that unbelievable goal. I went crazy over that goal. Can you tell us about it?
Henry: Actually, as soon as I won the ball I knew I was going to shoot. I said to myself, take the shot, just take the shot. If it goes wide then it goes wide, if it goes in then even better. And when I scored, I remember that the families were seated on the other side, so I wanted to run over there, but it was too far, and the players were stopped me halfway. And I just let it all out, because the season had been so hard mentally because of all the injuries the team had been subjected to, and all that. And for me personally as well it had been hard [Henry had had to play CB which she hates, being left out the French National Team, etc]. And I just let it all out. And I'll be honest, for the next 5-10 minutes I found it so hard to get back into the game. And I really had just let everything out on that goal. Everything was let out all at once. And it was just the accumulation of everything. And then it was Barcelona, everyone was saying they were favorites, everyone was saying Lyon was finished, etc. So yeah. I let everything out when I took that shot.
Timothee: I understand. It explains the power, you really put everything into it.
Henry: Yeah. Everything was there. It's something you only see in your dreams. You're in the final of the Champions League against Barcelona and you take a shot like that. I didn't really believe it myself.
Timothee: What are the moments that stand out for you in your time at Lyon?
Henry: Well first of all when I first signed with Lyon when I was 17. It was such a huge moment for me, I was going to play with the best players in France, even in the world. I was playing next to Camille Abily, Louisa Necib, there were a lot of big names. So I couldn't believe it. So I said to myself, this is where it begins. And then there was the first Champions League final that we won. That was a really big moment. After, I'm not sure I'm really allowed to say this, but the celebrations at Saint-Tropez, with the players. (#DrunkOL). And then all the league trophies, the moments shared with the players in the locker room, the trips. There's a lot of things.
Timothee: It's interesting how the group evolves but there is something that stays year after year. The team changes and evolves, new players come in, but the integration seems to really work. It works because we feel each year that the group is special, that each win is special, and it's also a team win.
Henry: Yeah, it's because I don't think that people realize there are enormous sacrifices during the season. It's long, it's so long. You often have lingering injuries, loss of confidence. Sometimes it's this player, something it's that one. And sometimes it's like a family, because we're together sometimes 14 hours a day. We see each other more than our families. So you have to have solidarity. And if we want to win, if we want to continue winning, that DNA has to be passed on. All the groups we've had, that's why they've been successful, the Lyon DNA.
Timothee: And each year you have new players who are integrated. Last year it was Lindsey [Horan], whom you already knew really well. It must have been nice to have her here. And you maybe already knew it, but she came in, we saw her play some excellent games from the beginning, but you already knew she could do that.
Henry: Yeah, I played with her in Portland. I already knew she was a great person, so that's important, and a superb player as well. So I wasn't surprised to see her shine.
Timothee: What can you tell us about your future? You already mentioned the next club. What is the future going to look like for you?
Henry: Yeah, so I signed with Los Angeles [Angel City]. In the short term, there's the World Cup coming up. I hope to be a part of it. So that's the short term. After -
Timothee: It would be nice to be a part of it.
Henry: For sure. After everything I went through as well. Winning it would be nice as well.
Timothee: While we're at it.
Henry: Yeah. There's Los Angeles [Angel City], which I want to commit to as well. It will allow me to prepare myself for after I retire, bring my English back and get all that in order. And I hope to become a mother in the next few years as well.
Timothee: You already an American adventure when you were in Portland. You liked it enough to return.
Henry: Yeah. Beyond the football, it was a superb experience, you learn so much, a new culture, a new way of working. And then the US - well, it's Los Angeles, so I think it'll be a nice place.
Timothee: On a personal level, it's a big thing as well. That's football as well. And Lyon was that as well, somewhere where you experienced so much as a person. So there's a part of you that's looking for some more. But I imagine that it's important in sports to also have the personal element.
Henry: Yeah. For me it's almost fundamental. If you win a trophy but you don't feel anything, something's wrong. As I was telling you earlier, it's what you remember. And in Los Angeles [Angel City], it's a club that's starting to evolve, it's barely two years old, their history is only beginning to be written. So I hope I can contribute to it.
Timothee: And bring all of your experience, and your knowledge of how to win.
Henry: I hope so.
Timothee: Is there anything you'd like to add? Something you'd like to say before we wrap up?
Henry: [voice cracks] I would like to say thank you. Thank you to all my teammates, all the staff members, everyone who has supported me, who encouraged me, who allowed me to be here today. [Henry starts crying] And thank you to Lyon, really. The Lyon family. And I hope to be back one day. That's it.
Timothee: Well we're far from being able to forget you. And I think that for everyone who has followed Lyon, it's up to us to say thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for the club, Amandine.
Henry: Thank you.

What ways can we consider buying perfumes for gift?
Give thought to what she likes :
Your wife's tastes should be your top priority when making a perfume purchase. Does she prefer scents that are floral, fruity, woodsy, or musky? What kind of fragrance does she enjoy, light or bold? Make a mental note of the scents she now enjoys and look for a perfume that shares those characteristics. To further reduce your options, think about the labels and designers she already likes.
Pick a quality fragrance:
Choose a quality perfume that will last and smell great on your wife's skin if you want to give her a perfume as a present. Try to find a perfume from a well-known brand, as they tend to last longer and smell better. Fragrances that cost less money may not last as long or smell as natural.

There's no going wrong with a classic fragrance, but if you want your present to stand out, consider a more unusual perfume. Think about finding your wife a perfume with a note she hasn't tried before. It's possible to add a particular touch to some scents by customizing the included notes.
Think about the occasion:
Perfume selections can be further informed by the event for which they are intended as presents. It's customary to give expensive perfumes on significant occasions like wedding anniversaries and birthdays. Choose a perfume that is inexpensive yet nonetheless of great quality for daily usage.
Try before you buy:
Get a sample of the perfume to test it out on your wife's skin before making a full purchase. Perfumes can have varied aromas on various people due to differences in skin and body chemistry. Make sure your wife likes the perfume and that it smells good on her by giving it a test run first.

NO BC THIS SONG IS ACTUALLY INCREDIBLE, it brings to light a lot of why amelie is the way she is- because of her mother amandine's obsession with zeno's paradox
like #1 i love the staging that we did, where amelie is up in her apartment on the balcony while amandine and young amelie are at the kitchen table (photos below sorry for the poor quality)
and the way amelie has so much personality even when she doesn't say anything, like how she floats the boat across the table and even stands up on the table with her spyglass at one point in an act of defiance
also- our back wall is currently blank lol, we had some issues with the posters
also, let's take a closer look at amandine's chalkboard :) it's so gorgeous shout out to props and scenic for doing the art
then we also have the actual song where amelie sings about her mother and stuff, it's really self explanatory but in particular the verse that goes "so the little boat's trying to get to her but the table is deep and wide the lesson i learned from my mother is to see the great divide" 1. the table is LITERALLY between her and her mother
2. she saw/sees herself as a little boat in a big ocean and it gives me dear evan hansen so big/so small vibes
3. the lesson she learned from her mother was really messed up- amelie is 7 or 8 in this and her mother was trying to teach her geometry?? also zeno has been proven incorrect multiple times so it isn't even a good theory
4. she wasn't even teaching geometry, she was ingraining in her daughter that the only way to truly experience the world is to live it far away from everyone else- you can never truly reach anyone else so why bother trying
5. during that verse, if you listen to the london version, audrey brisson's voice changes registers a lot in the one line and not only is it really impressive but it also has a nice effect of having her voice breaking and being emotional while still being powerful
6. she has carved out a nice life for herself, by herself, but she's still breaking because she cannot experience life with others
there's another quite good verse "I'm a girl with a copper spyglass who prays that someday she will spot a shore All at once, a lighthouse All at once a through the copper spyglass, a light telling me to lean in on the oar I start to row....." "But before I can get anywhere From point A to point B I am at the kitchen table where I'll always be at sea"
she is looking for a shore- she's looking for her mother or someone similar because she has been taught to look for the shore, to look for her mother, someone who she has been taught to love
she instead sees a lighthouse- this is nino- someone unconventional whom she has not been taught to look for but nevertheless catches her attention who can take her to new places and show her that shoreline (safety) in a different way/place than her mother
this shows that she is actively TRYING to get to nino, to get past her fear of interaction, but she's still reminded of her mother's warnings
she will always be at sea, never reaching anyone, never drifting close enough to touch the shore, stuck in her own world and that's really quite tragic if you think about it
i also particularly like the miniscenes before and during it
in the scene beforehand, she walks up the stairs to her apartment after talking to dufayel
and she has so much genuine frustration with herself and with her mother that she insults him and storms off
dufayel is unbothered by this, which is also another part of his setup as a pseudo-father figure for amelie
but anyway this scene kinda proves that she's very self aware of how she lives in her own world out of necessity
and what she sees in nino and what nino sees in her is not entirely romantic interest but also someone who is like her in some way- they can help each other by showing each other a different way to experience the world
this is kinda proven by the scene in the middle of the song in which amelie tells nino that she is a question wrapped in an enigma tied in a paradox and that he can never reach her
and he finally confesses his true feelings, not his love (he did that earlier) but that he gets the feeling they may somehow be alike
this also leads into the entire thing of nino being this solution to all of amelie's problems and he doesn't have too much going for himself except that he is someone's something- sylvie's coworker, amelie's solution
but he feels so unreachable to her because he is the solution to her lifelong problem- he ends her solitude and he teaches her the solution to zeno's paradox
also, one last thing
during tour de france, a moment when amelie feels very connected to everyone, her mother's teachings are still present
she says that she can feel every stranger in paris waiting to collide
they are WAITING
hoping and waiting and trying to collide
but no one truly can </3
anyway yeah- little boat big ocean and all that jazz
it's the way half of our cast and crew are sobbing because we ran halfway and now we have to take 10 to cry
maybe this says something about us
#halfway#amelie musical#musical theater#rants and ramblings#long rants#<3#trust#maybe this is why we were all sobbing in the wings#because of our inherent inability to connect with one another#no one read this lmao#tech week diaries#theaterposting
