ever since wishmaker came out i have this specific idea where adrien keeps on going out as chat noir and joining random classes to figure out a hobby he likes to do because he can't go out as adrien due to his dad. so marinette just sees "chat noir spotted at local pottery night" on her phone and has to go down there as ladybug and tell him hes gonna attract akumas if he keeps doing this. he defends it by saying hes making people happy hes coming so actually hes preventing akumas and "i'm going to learn how to rollerskate next week if you want to come!" marinette gets gray hairs.

Ladybug and Chat Noir hosting a podcast where they're going to interview Adrien Agreste and so Adrien has to enlist Félix to pretend to be him and Félix gets to just. Make fun of Adrien to his face and to a national audience. Chat Noir keeps arguing with Félix’s Adrien about his own opinions so the next day all the news is about how much everyone thinks Chat Noir hates Adrien Agreste

ladrien is cool in its fuckedupness because it's so comfortably distant. they're both in their fake personas, they know the other is in their fake persona, and they're entirely willing to and enthusiastic about keeping up the charade. every interaction feels scripted and they both love this about it. there's never any danger in it because they're never required to be vulnerable whatsoever. they never have to be honest, they never have to be genuine, and they never expect the other to be genuine, and there's probably some twisted sort of comfort in knowing that the other person is never expecting you to take off their mask. that you can just lie and keep lying and it's fine

marichat is cool in its fuckedupness because it's so uncomfortably close. they both know each other so well but are unable to admit why, so they're just overly-friendly and don't have boundaries where they arguably should. there is no pretense to be civil or respectable so marichat comes with the grossest jokes and awkwardest silences and flippant displays of bad behavior. chat has no idea what proper boundaries should look like when someone isn't Using A Mask, and marinette is in no position to draw her foot in the sand* because being authoritative is for ladybug!!! so they're violating each others boundaries and making each other uncomfortable CONSTANTLY!!!

Can we talk about the fact that Gabriel never once made Adrien's mental health a priority, nor treated it as though it was something that was important or "real". How his response to his son's depression was "He's an Agreste" (he's not, Mr. Grasette) "he'll get over it" (he won't). Can we discuss how Gabriel treats Adrien's mental health like a thing that needs to be adjusted to his own needs. How he is literally creating in his son an anxious attachment, by forcing Adrien to be attuned to Gabriel, instead of the other way around.

How Adrien has to mourn, when Gabriel mourns, be fine when Gabriel's fine, act happy, act in despair, act perfect, whenever it most befits Gabriel. Adrien's anger is trivial. Adrien's grief is too healthy. Adrien's sadness is wrong...unless of course it fuels an akuma.

Adrien is meant to get back up whenever he can barely get out of bed. Adrien is meant to stay home alone in solitude on the anniversary of his mother's death. Adrien is meant to be fine enough to field questions about his mother from the press, but the very idea of him being okay with another mother figure is sacrilege.

Adrien is never meant to know what his father is, to carry the burden of his father's life. Yet, is still forced to shoulder his death. Is still required to live with the guilt and weight of his father's "noble" passing. Adrien is only permitted to live with the emotions that give Gabriel the most honorary of endings. Adrien is only able to feel that which does not condemn Gabriel.

Adrien is kept from these secret, he is shut out... because Gabriel doesn't want his son to live with the burden of his father's biggest, darkest secret unless... UNLESS, that knowledge will bring Gabriel to his goal. He will lift the curtain to his villainy, he will show the lifeless body of Adrien's supposedly dead mother, he will tell all... if it meant that Adrien's ensuing breakdown would get Gabriel closer to his goal

We already know that Gabriel is willing to destroy the world to get what he wants. What is somewhat more horrific is that he is just as willing and ready to destroy his son.
