I’ve been spending more time reflecting, recently (which is 2 say 2 exhausted 2 do anything productive), & it’s led me down some interesting rabbit holes of memory/thought. 1) if I had gone through #Naval or #Army boot camp (those r 4 the more sane), I wouldn’t have had the vigor to spend hours trailing these 2 spirited knee-biters as they run, climb, crawl, & 2) slide through the indoor playgrounds/labyrinths that will likely be responsible 4 my eventual demise. But given my superior endurance capacity, honed in the elite proving grounds of #MCRD-SD (#hollywoodmarine ) I find these activities leisurely & almost fun. Which is why I subject myself to long drives 3) around Greater #mn - taking in all of the various shades of grey (way more than 50), off-white, & pine. This snaps me back 2 reality & calls forth my upbringing as a Lutheran, of hearty Scandinavian/German/Prussian stock, in Northern Wisconsin, where humor was only allowed if #God wasn’t listening/watching (rare). We endured long spells of melancholy & fought off the urge 2 laugh if 1 of the elders unwhittingly broke wind... don’t laugh. These early years were also the beginnings of my career as semi-professional eater, drinker, & cooker. I was introduced to the greatest #pie on planet earth, at the Norske Nook, in Osseo, WI. Now, 40 years later, the pinnacle of pie purveyor-ism, resides in 4) #Stockholm #Wisconsin; & I’m almost certain the same pie-maker who lovingly baked the goods in Osseo, at 117 years young, is handcrafting every single one - She’s a tough old bird. The 5) Double Lemon slice doesn’t do justice 2 the deliciousness of this delectable #dessert. The lemon chess, atop, & lemon curd, below, was a combo equivalent 2 Ashford & Simpson #solid . Bella 6) is currently into Michael Jackson’s #BillieJean look, crossed w/ @flavorflavofficial , & accented by #RalphLauren summer sailing wear - it works for her.
