In the garden of life, a lesson learned,

To cherish each drop of water earned.

No seeds have sprouted, yet I stand,

Watering flower beds in the barren land.

The gentle streams from my hands flow,

Nourishing soil where no flowers grow.

In the darkness, cold and gloom,

I tend to blooms that never bloom.

Weeds of doubt and fear may rise,

Choking out dreams before our eyes.

But still, I water with patience and care,

Hoping that beauty will someday flare.

Though shadows linger, hope remains,

Each wasted drop not shed in vain.

For in this act of faith and love,

Will someday bloom a flower above?

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Mom and I traded off parenting duties this morning so we could both get an Orange Theory workout in, and I think we spent the rest of the day around the house and in our yard hanging out with neighbors -- I'm a week behind on writing these things and my memory is shot. Magnus was a big help to Mom watering plants.
