The Romanian doesn't look up, working at patching up his own wound that he received from a choice he made. Sure, he didn't have to but then what would have become of her if he hadn't intervened? It wasn't a risk he had been willing to take and in his own way, well, it showed he cared. At least in his mind he did, without having to actually say anything. Even now he didn't, deciding it be best to just focus on getting his wound cleaned up at his side. Though her words made him take a breath in and shrug slightly, knowing a few words needed to at least be said to make her relax. He could feel her eyes on him. "I did and it's fine." He says, unbothered though struggling slightly to fully take care of the gash to his side. It was just another wound to add to the scars that scattered tanned skin. Only then he sees her move towards him and he pauses, practically taking the first aid from him to help him herself. By now he knew better than to fight it and instead let out a slightly annoyed huff. "You know I can handle this." He grumbles out, still looking slightly away from her.

He inhales to speak, but the words are stuck in his chest. He doesn’t want to say it is, it wont leave him, he refuses. The thought of a goodbye is too much, it feels heavy. A commitment to something he doesn't want. No goodbyes. 

“I’ll be back.” Is what finally comes out, thin and quiet. He’s sure in his words, they're the truth. He doesn’t intend to be gone longer than he absolutely has to be. But undercover is a tricky business, and he knows what he signed up for– or, more accurately, the mission he accepted. “I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, but I will be back, I swear it.”
