Gaza’s current reality:

Israel is forcing 2.1 million people into just three areas:

Western Gaza City, the Central governorate, and Al-Mawasi in Khan Younis.

There’s no space. No shelter. No food. No water. No safety.

And more importantly: nowhere left to flee.

This is not “evacuation” — this is deliberate mass confinement of a civilian population.

People are trapped in unlivable zones under the illusion of “safe areas,” while bombs keep falling and aid is nonexistent.

They are being starved, humiliated, and slaughtered — or pushed toward forced expulsion outside Gaza altogether.

This isn’t a war.

It’s a slow, systematic erasure of a people.

Ethnic cleansing — in real-time, with the world watching.

My heart is breaking that we are currently seeing the manufactured consent for Palestinian genocide. Ethnic persecution and genocide are about power, land, and wealth. Hate is a justification for seizing land & wealth and solidifying the power of those enacting the genocide. This is shown time and again throughout history. One day the world will apologise to Palestinians. My fear is that by then, it will be too late.

I've been crying daily in the privilege of my safe home, where my value as a human isn't questioned by governments or media based on my ethnicity. If you have the privilege of safety, don't look away. It is so incredibly important to keep listening, learning, sharing, protesting, donating. Don't normalise genocide. Thank you Plestia, Bisan, Yara, Motaz and all the others bravely speaking up in Gaza.

* Obviously, I don't condone the killing of innocent civilians - by Hamas or anyone else. What happened on October 7th was a tragic symptom of oppression. I therefore unequivocally condemn the Israeli government who created these oppressive conditions. For 75 years, they have colonised land by displacing, subjugating and killing Palestinians using the backing, money and military tech from global superpowers. Hamas does not equal Palestine. West Papua comprises the western half of the island of New Guinea, sharing a border with my home country, Papua New Guinea. It lies 200 km north of Australia. West Papua was originally home to Indigenous Melanesian people for thousands of years. It was then colonised by the Dutch in 1898 and was set on a path toward independence, separate from Indonesia, until things changed in the 1960s.

In 1969, under heavy military intimidation and coercion, a UN-organised referendum called the "Act of Free Choice" was held. Instead of a legitimate vote, Indonesia selected 1,026 representatives who voted to remain part of Indonesia. This vote, widely condemned as fraudulent and called the "Act of No Choice" by Papuans, led to decades of violent and oppressive Indonesian occupation to this day.

Updates on Greta Thunberg's Aid Boat and the rest of the team (6/26/2025)

🚢 What Happened with Greta Thunberg and the Gaza Aid Boat?

On June 1, 2025, a group of 12 activists — including Greta Thunberg, French MEP Rima Hassan, journalists, doctors, and peace activists — set sail on a boat called the Madleen from Sicily, aiming to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

On June 9, Israeli naval forces intercepted the yacht in international waters, around 100 nautical miles from the Gaza coast. All 12 individuals were detained and taken to the port of Ashdod, Israel, and later transferred to immigration detention facilities near Ramla and Ben Gurion Airport.

✈️ What Happened to Each of Them?

The 12 activists split into two groups based on how they responded to the deportation process:

✅ Voluntarily Deported (4 people):

Greta Thunberg

Baptiste André

Omar Faiad

Sergio Toribio

These four agreed to be deported and were flown back to their home countries (France and Sweden) on June 10.

✊ Refused Deportation (8 people):

Eight other activists, including:

Rima Hassan (French MEP)

Yasemin Acar (France)

Thiago Ávila (Brazil)

Others from the Netherlands, Brazil, and Belgium

…refused to leave voluntarily. They were held in Givon Prison near Ramla and challenged their detention in Israeli courts.

Their legal appeals were rejected, and they were forcibly deported in two waves:

Six activists (including Rima Hassan) were deported on June 12.

The remaining two were deported between June 13–16, some routed through Jordan before flying home.

📦 The Aid Itself

The cargo aboard the Madleen included:

Baby formula

Rice (250 kg)

Flour (100 kg)

Diapers

Medical supplies

While largely symbolic, the flotilla was intended to draw attention to the ongoing blockade of Gaza and the humanitarian crisis.

🔚 Current Status

All 12 activists are now out of Israel.

No one from the mission remains detained.

Some have reported mistreatment during detention, including solitary confinement and hunger strikes, but all have returned home safely.

Let’s agree that no matter how much those outside Gaza hurt and suffer with us, they can’t really say things like "We feel you," "We’re more hurt than you," or "We wish we were in your place."

🤔It’s like seeing someone drowning and begging for help, and you say: Wow, your drowning is so creative, making bubbles in the water!

🔹This is exactly how it feels when people say those words, giving lessons on patience and resilience from afar, ending with: "We didn’t live the bombing, but we feel it when we see it on TV."

🤔When you see it on TV, do you scream in panic? Does your body tremble? Do you run to your kids as they cry in fear? Do you remember your loved ones who died? Do you see your own soul dying? Do you say, "We’re going to die tonight," and start giving each other last wills?

🟡Have you felt the pain of losing a loved one under the rubble? They cover the body, and don’t let you see it because it breaks your heart!

🤔Have you tried to sleep imagining you’ll wake up under the rubble, screaming with severed limbs?

🤔How can you reduce our tragedy to a video of a collapse and a boom sound on TV, then simply say "We feel you" and give us lessons on patience and steadfastness? Please, how can you?

🔴We’re ordinary humans who feel pain and suffer. We’re not superheroes you tell: "It’s okay, you’re heroes and strong and capable, we wish we were like you."

🤔Don’t judge us no matter what we say. You don’t know what’s inside Gaza, and how we really are just “cannon fodder” no one cares about.

🤔Have some mercy, fear of God, and respect for our pain. Unless you’ve lived it, you won’t feel even a tiny bit of it.

🔴Let us speak and express ourselves. This is our story, our tragedy, which we have the right to tell as we live it — not as you wish.

Israel bombed dozens of hospitals in Gaza. They cut off all medical aid, resulting in children going through amputations with no anesthesia.

Now they're crying in horror about one of their hospitals being bombed by Iran, which, yes, that is in fact still a war crime. Where Israeli forces were using it as a military base. Exactly like they accused Hamas of doing to excuse bombing dozens of their hospitals, and they didn't even blink. They didn't give a rats ass about that.

This is the world THEY created. And it shows that they do not view Palestinian people as human beings.
