I just need someone to admire my work.
My husband and I have been cosplaying for years and have entire personas worked out for our WWII reenactment characters. (We both cosplay Soviets.)
Recently we lost my father, and we are both doing grief counseling together because my father was practically my husband's father. So I promised him I would make him a bookmark for his book so he doesn't have to use tissue.
So here are the results!

I am definitely into the sloppy type of art which I'm not even sure what to call it. His character is named Luka and mine is Emiliya.
I wrote a personal message on the back for him as well and put millions of stickers on it but that's more private and just for him.

January 27, 1944 - the siege of Leningrad was lifted thus finishing the 900-day blockade of the city.
January 27th, 1944
On a January night, underneath starless skies, Disbelieving the fate it was made to refute, Resurrecting itself from the depths of demise, Leningrad stands in proud salute.
Anna Akhmatova, 1944

T-34 was promised, T-34 is delivered
Tumblr media
I'm not sure I love the snow effect on the armor, but uh, it's not gonna come off soo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I keep throwing out lists I'll never play, but I'm fond of a 2 formation list for the double bubble of rerolls v4 flames of war gives you, so this will probably be a member of a standard T-34 battalion accompanying my hero rifle battalion
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've got some KV-1's too, but I think the sheer point efficacy of field guns in formation with the hero rifles is gonna have to work, since the KVs were just trundling along with the infantry anyways so the T-34s can get their zoomies out

this is supposedly a Red Army journalist climbing on top of a roof in order to photograph Berlin. I sketched it on the back of an office waste paper, because my office work has been too draining, I had to distract myself with something. Of course the perspective was very messed up I had to get it into Photoshop to rectify the scene itself.

I was pretty convinced the guy on the left was Doenitz, yet turned out not the case upon further investigation-- these are Luftwaffe generals. Doenitz wasn't that tall, the hell was I thinking.

Entering service in February of 1944, the T-34-85 was the first large modification to the T-34 tank, adding an 85mm gun designed to counter the German Tiger, and an improved, widened, three-man turret. The design would further be developed and perfected over time, but the original T-34-85 variants would always be the most crucial. The widening of the Turret helped with on of the T-34 main issues, how cramped it was. The T-34 was incredibly tightly packed on the interior, with very little room to work. While not entirely solving this issue, the larger three man turret certainly reduced the strain on tank crews. The larger gun however, was the main selling point of the 34-85. Able to penetrate the frontal armor of a Tiger I at 1,000 metres. It would be the tank that pierced the heart of Berlin, and would lead the invasion of South Korea by the North Koreans, beginning the Korean War.
