Power Couple: The Aftermath (Roman Reigns)
Tumblr media
When the Tribal Chief falls, no one helps him back up better than you do. Set after the epic main event of Wrestlemania XL.
Pairing: Roman Reigns/OC
Warnings: Excess fluff and of course, smut.
Word Count: 3.3k
A/N: Yes, I'm still in my feelings, and there was only one pairing I could properly convey my feelings with, because this has also been their story all along. For new readers, I strongly suggest reading the first two one-shots before delving into this one. Hope you enjoy!

Tumblr media
1,316 days.
All wiped away with three slaps of the referee’s hand to the hard canvas.
Even after Cody rolled away from him, Roman could not move. Hell, he couldn’t breathe. Not when the air had been punched out of his lungs, literally and figuratively. It was only when Dwayne pulled him out of the ring by his pants leg that his body managed to kickstart itself into some sort of motion. And even then, all he could do was turn his head to look back and watch as Cody celebrated in the ring with his wife Brandi, holding his title belt aloft for the whole world to behold as the ultimate symbol of his victory.
It should have been you and him up there. It should have been him. Again. But it wasn’t. Because the one time he got careless in battle, it cost him everything. Throwing years of hard work down the drain.
And it made him sick to his stomach.
The sound of ‘Kingdom’ blaring through the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium was torture to the former champion’s ears. His legs felt like lead as he dragged his battered body up the ramp, ignoring Dwayne’s baseless, performative complaints about nothing, as he put distance to the tableau of triumph of his opponent. The weight of this defeat was heavy, suffocating even, and he was desperate to get the fuck out of there, to get out of Philadelphia, out of Pennsylvania and all its environs. As he reached the top of the vast WrestleMania stage, pain surged through his abdomen, forcing him to recoil into himself and double over in pain.
His Wise Man noticed his plight and paused to observe his charge. "My Tribal Chief, are you alright? Do you need-"
Roman shook his head. "I'm fine,” he snapped, willing himself to keep walking until he made it past the curtain. He leaned against the wall and bent over, resting his hands on his knees.
“What can I do, my Tribal Chief?” Paul implored.
“Just…get my wife on the bus and make sure everything’s ready to go. I’ll be there soon."
“Right away my Tribal Chief,” Paul replied eagerly, scurrying off to do as he was told.
It was a good long minute before Roman managed to pull himself back upright, staggering towards his locker room. Walking was so hard, his body hurt so much, but none of it hurt as much as the gut punch of failure. Much worse than any of the bumps he took was the shame, the disappointment engulfing him; so much so that he couldn’t bear to look anyone else in the eye right now.
Because he had failed everyone who cared about him.
He had failed you.
----------------
All good things come to an end. That’s how the saying goes, right? The interesting part of that was that on the surface, it was a throwaway little trope, harmless and benign, until something that meant a great deal to you got taken away in the blink of an eye, or in this case, a three-count. The moment the bell signaled the pinfall that confirmed your husband's time as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion had come to an end, you knew he would never be the same again.
It wasn't unlike Roman to be a little on edge weeks before a big premium live event. And given the nature of the two main event matches he was locked in for the fortieth annual WrestleMania, you expected he would be grouchy. But this time around seemed different, and not in a good way. He’d been surly towards everybody, including you. He disappeared for hours working out obsessively. He’d even thrown out a female member of the press who had dared to boo him at the press conference on Saturday night. Now, despite the final match of the weekend concluding nearly an hour ago, Roman was yet to return to his tour bus. That only meant one thing; he was not taking this defeat well, and it was up to you to lift him up, like you always did.
When you found the door boasting your husband's name, Heyman was outside, pacing back and forth. The Undisputed title, which you had grown accustomed to seeing on his shoulders on behalf of his Tribal Chief, was missing; a stark, prickly reminder of the outcome of tonight’s proceedings.
"That bad, huh?" you asked, reading the Wise Man’s expression in a second. In fact, he looked on the verge of tears, his shoulders sagging with despair. The weekend had taken an emotional toll on him, too.
"He won’t come out," he informed you, his usually confident voice shaky and helpless. “He won’t let anyone in and he won’t speak to anyone…”
You raised your index finger to cut him off. "Correction, he won’t speak to anyone that’s not me," you stated, shooting him a warm smile, one among countless others you had shared with him since burying the hatchet after years of friction between you. "Go be with your family, Paul. I’ll handle my husband.”
“He’s my family, too,” he declared softly, the conviction in what you used to call his beady eyes, palpable and heartbreaking, “Both of you are.”
Touched and at a loss for words, you could only look on as he turned around slowly and made the lonely walk down the hallway. Turning back to the locker room door, you sucked a breath between your teeth and blew it out, mentally preparing to confront this task head-on.
You knocked timidly and stuck your head inside. If Roman was in as foul a mood as Paul let on, even you did not want to be there. It had taken a few unfortunate incidents over the years for you to learn that even a kiss from his wife wasn't enough when he got too stressed. It never stopped you from trying, though. Kissing was one of your favorite things to do with him after all.
"Knock, knock," you called out softly, listening for signs of movement as you stepped inside and closed the door. The room that was bustling just a few hours ago was now stripped bare and cloaked in dead quiet. It was an eerie contrast to the majestic, sweeping grandiosity that encompassed his entrance to the ring tonight. “Babe?”
Venturing further inside the room, you found him on the couch, his strong, broad back to you, his shoulders slumped dejectedly. An open bottle of Jack Daniels sat on the coffee table in front of him. His ula fala was draped over the headrest, where his title belt would surely have been.
This was the reality no one warned you about after a monumental loss. It plunged you into a cold, dark abyss, wrought with biting silence and dreary loneliness now that the show was over and the lights were no longer bright. The what ifs, buts and maybes crooning in your ear like a morbid symphony. It was an experience all too familiar to you unfortunately, and recently, too; you and your husband had traveled down this terrible road following the tragic miscarriage of your son in the summer of 2022.
Stepping in front of him, you wiggled into his personal space and made yourself at home on his lap. Gently wrapping your arms around him, you sighed with relief when he instantly melted into you and his huge arms enveloped your waist, holding on to you like his life depended on it.
“My baby,” you cooed soothingly, the sound of your lips meeting the side of his head piercing through the emptiness of the locker room. “My love.”
The audible hitch of his breath at your soft words was expected. In the course of your lifetime, those two little phrases had garnered a poignant significance. As words of comfort and solace first uttered by your mother when you were a child, you murmured those words regularly to Roman between sweet, playful kisses when he was courting you, basking in the bliss of newfound love, and again as part of your wedding vows as you became man and wife. They were the first words you whispered to Laleia the first time she was placed in your arms. They were the words that you had cried yourself to sleep with as you mourned the baby boy you had lost. You and Roman had seen each other at your absolute best and worst, and now, in the isolation of this room, with just the two of you and nobody else, this was another bad moment you had to overcome.
“On Matt’s birthday, too,” Roman finally spoke, wiping at his nose with a sniffle. “Fuck, man.”
“I know,” you replied, running your hand comfortingly up and down his upper arm. As he met your gaze at last, you saw that his eyes were bloodshot. Seeing him like this broke your heart afresh. You held him as close as possible, willing all his pain and his hurt into your soul, wanting nothing more than to take it all away.
"I fucked up," he breathed, his voice raw and choked with misery, "I fucked up out there, babe...I let Dwayne down...I let y'all down. I lost the title and I'm sorry."
"Sorry? For what? Over thirteen hundred days as champion?" you countered, "Nine WrestleMania main events? Billions of dollars in revenue? A roof over your child's head and three square meals a day? One loss will never wipe any of that away, don't ever get it twisted."
He exhaled tiredly as he hugged you tighter, resting his head on your shoulder. "I really wish I felt that way right now," he mumbled.
"It'll take some time, but you will," you asserted, running his fingers through his loose hair before tugging it lightly, making him look at you again. "Roman, you changed the industry, just like you said you would when we started this. No one will ever, ever forget what you've done these past four years. Be proud of all of it. You've been through so much, you sacrificed too much to not be proud."
Roman nodded in understanding. He just wished he didn't feel so down. "Baby, I...I want you to know how sorry I am. I know how much you wanted this. And I've been such a dick to you lately-"
You kissed your teeth and waved his apology away. "Nah. That don't matter no more. And I don't care that you didn't win. All I care about is you being safe when you're out there. Being healthy for our family and our daughter, who will be very happy to have her Daddy home, by the way. So we took an L. Okay, we'll only come back stronger. We had one bad night. Guess what? I plan on giving you a better morning, if you know what I mean." You rounded off your words with a wink, your heart blooming when he chuckled in response. "See, there's that smile I love so much. Keep your head up, baby. You did so good tonight. I couldn't be more proud of you."
Roman leaned into you, his forehead pressed to yours, breathing you in and filling his head with your scent. It was like breathing fresh air. “I love you, Y/N. I love you with all of my heart. I don’t deserve you, I never have.”
The tears you'd been fighting all night resurfaced, but you blinked them away as you captured his lips with yours, your hand sliding over the back of his neck. He clung to you, a different emotion quickly overtaking him as he returned your kiss with a bit of aggression, his tongue whipping hungrily against yours, savoring your mouth as though he was tasting it for the very first time. You surrendered to his every whim, your other hand raking through his hair then caressing gently down to his chest, resting your palm over the spot where his heart pumped for you. You could feel how much he needed this moment of intimacy, and you had no qualms giving him anything he asked for.
With one quick tug of your legs, Roman had you straddling him on the couch, bringing you chest to chest with your lush backside resting on his growing bulge. He paused for a moment to take a deep breath, then sealed your mouths again, his tongue invading, probing, a moan rumbling in his chest when you matched his energy, the emotions take over this loving embrace. He could never get enough of you, of the passion that overwhelmed him by your mere presence, immersing him in a love and gratitude he would always feel for you no matter what state of mind he was in.
Eventually, you pulled away from each other, breathless, panting, lips glistening with each other’s saliva. His heart raced at the familiar gleam in your darkened eyes. You weren’t done with him, not just yet, and this was confirmed as you slowly slid off him and sank to your knees between his spread thighs, pushing the front of his shirt up to expose his newly honed six-pack abs.
“Do you know how fucking hot you looked tonight, Daddy?” you purred to him, leaning in to run your tongue over the ridges of muscle on his taut belly. “Last night? All week? Do you have any idea of all the nasty shit I’m gonna do to you on the bus?”
Roman’s dick jumped in his joggers as his imagination ran wild. He squirmed in his seat, his bottom lip slipping between his teeth as your tongue lapped at his belly, your mouth warm on his skin, all while you rubbed the fullness of his bulge straining eagerly against your touch. “Baby girl…” he choked out, as your fingers peeled the waistband of his pants, unveiling his big, beautiful brown dick.
“Hmm, commando. I like it,” you commented with a smirk, curling your fist around his turgid length.
“Babe, wait…ain’t Paul outside?”
“I sent him home. Plus, won't be the first time he's seen me suck you off.” Your small hand massaged his blunt, plum-shaped head as you licked a trail along the underside of his dick, enjoying the gasps of pleasure that he made. Licking up the pre-cum that had gathered at the tip, your mouth opened wider to take him in. He stared you down with an intense look in his dark irises, which soon fluttered shut as your lips wrapped tight around his flesh, his stomach tensing as he felt himself slide deeper inside. “Awww, fuuuck,” he moaned.
Pulling back for a second, you held his lust-filled stare and stroked his dick a little harder, giggling when it twitched in your grip. A defiant look clouded your eyes as you licked at his tip before pushing him back into your mouth. It was enough for him to nut by just watching you, the visual of your lips sliding slowly up and down his length, that sexy mouth of yours making sweet love to his dick. It felt so good that he sank further into the plush leather of the couch, his head rolling back lazily against the headrest, his toes curling inside his brand new Air Reigns sneakers. All the pain and punishment his body had endured tonight melted away and was replaced with much more pleasurable sensations.
“I love the way you suck my dick, wifey,” he praised you, forcing himself to observe you through his barely open eyelids. “Mmm, that slutty little mouth is warm as fuck…You so sexy, baby, keep lookin’ up at me like that...”
His raspy growls had you glancing back up at him, batting your pretty eyelashes as you sucked him off. Wetness pooled between your thighs at his famished expression. Completely aroused, you picked up the pace as your hands and your mouth worked in tandem, sucking and stroking his dick, pleasuring him from tip to base. His breathing became heavier as he throbbed against your tongue, his hands finding the back of your head as he got lost in the paradise of your warm, wet mouth.
“Damn, baby. I bet that pussy leakin’ for me right now. You gettin’ wet sucking Daddy off, beautiful?” he taunted, his tongue swishing over his bottom lip at the same time your tongue swirled around the base of his shaft. The little moan that escaped your throat told him he was right. Of course he was; he knew his wife better than anybody else. “Good girl. Keep goin', I want that pussy extra wet. I’ma lick all that shit up when we get on the bus.”
With another soft moan, you crawled closer to his body and bore down on him, bobbing your head up and down that long, fat cock. Scooping your hair up into his large fist for leverage, Roman rocked his hips upwards from his seated position, thrusting in and out of your mouth. You relaxed your throat to take him deeper, moaning around his dick and letting him know how much you were enjoying him fucking your face. You rolled his balls in your hand, caressing the heavy, tightened sac to send him over the edge. It was working, as he began thrusting faster, his husky groans of pleasure amplifying as he neared his release.
“Unnnhh, baby, here it comes…Fuck, open your mouth,” he gasped, not waiting for you to do so as he yanked you by your hair to free himself from your intoxicating mouth. You quickly opened wide as he grabbed his cock and jerked it desperately against your tongue. He caught sight of the glazed-over quality of your gaze, and he knew that your panties were completely ruined, your pussy dripping with your need for him. He planned to take care of that very soon.
It was a show more spectacular than Mania, the sight of his gorgeous face contorted with pleasure, his head thrown back, eyes rolled to the heavens as his orgasm washed over his big body. Your moans harmonized together with each spasm of his cum down your throat, making you swallow every drop he unleashed. His grip on your hair was tight and almost painful, but you were turned on anyway, aroused by the knowledge that no one brought him to this state of paramount pleasure like you did. Licking your lips, you scooped him back into your mouth to clean him up, released him with a soft pop when you finished, and tucked him back inside the confines of his joggers. You giggled as he stared dazedly at the ceiling, licking his lips to catch his breath, his big frame slack and helpless as he recovered from the intense orgasm.
"Goddamn, baby...Shit," he groaned.
Wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, you stood up and sat back on his lap, welcoming the gentle press of his mouth to yours in a sweet, grateful kiss. “You feel better, Daddy?” you asked.
"Much better. I needed that so much. Thanks, baby," he smiled up at you, his stomach doing flips as you smiled back. He truly was the luckiest man in the world.
“Mm-hmm. Luckily, there’s more where that came from,” you assured him with another kiss before getting to your feet and pulling him up to his. “Come on, Daddy. Let's go home. We got a toddler to take care of. We'll figure out all the other stuff when it's time."
He nodded in agreement and squeezed your hand. “Okay, baby. Home it is.”
A new chapter in your story had been opened tonight, and the path ahead seemed uncertain and even scary. But you both took pride in the fact that as long as you kept writing it together, your love story was going to remain as beautiful as it already was.
But make no mistake about it; Roman Reigns was going to rule the wrestling world again. That was one story that was never going to end.
THE END

Thoughts? How sappy was this😢Was quite cathartic for me, loved writing it.

“Here are your winners and the new WWE undisputed tag team champions! Jimmy and Jey, THE USOS!” Dominique spoke into the mic, with a smile on her face. The smile quickly dropped from her face as Jon stormed over to her and pulled her with him, out of the time keeper's area and into the crowd towards the backstage area.
“Jon.. What are you doing?” She asked as she stumbled after him, trying to keep up with his long strides. She was confused, because he was definitely going off script. He was supposed to be out there attacking Randy and Riddle with his brother and cousin.
Jon didn't respond, his jaw clenched as he continued to pull her along. “Hey, what the fuck!” She yelled at him when he pushed her into The Bloodline’s empty locker room, causing her to stumble in her heels. “What is your problem!?"
“You fucking Randy?! Huh! Is that why you won’t forgive me!” Dominique snorted and crossed her arms over her chest.
“And what if I am? You were definitely gonna fuck that girl last night , oh and don’t get me started on the fact that you spent the night with Trinity.”
“Don’t fuckin’ play with me Dominque.” He gruffed out as he stalked towards her, backing her into the wall.
“Ain't nobody playin’ with you. If you can do it, so can I.” She shrugged, not backing down as she stared into his eyes. Jon closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew she was testing his patience and it was working. Jon opened his eyes, his jaw clenched as he struggled to keep his composure.
“Imma ask you one last time.” He muttered as he opened his eyes to look at her. “Are you fuckin’ Orton?"
Dominique rolled her eyes. “No, I'm not like you Jon, I would never cheat on the person I love.” Jon's expression darkened at Dominique's response. The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Jon sucked his teeth just as Joe and Josh walked through the doors. Jon ignored them though, keeping his glare on Dominique. “Stop with that bullshit Dominique. I aint cheat on you and I never will.”
“What bullshit Jonathan?!” She yelled.  “I have caught you up in TWO bitches faces and you got the nerve to be acting like this because what? Randy was comforting me!”
“He don’t need to comfort you Dom! Thats my fuckin’ job!” Josh decided to step in between them.
“Aye, y’all chill out.” He said placing his hand on Jon’s chest, pushing him back from Dominique.
“I’m chill.” Dominique said, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “It’s him, he needs to chill.”  Joe snorted, then held his hands up defensively as she turned her glare to him.
“Y’all are perfect for eachother,” He muttered as he walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
“We been together for four fucking years and I’ve never even thought about another woman. I fuck up one time and you won’t let it go. I’m sorry Dominique” He stressed, trying to grab her hands but she swatted him away. Josh shook his head at them and walked out the room to call his wife, he was happy as hell he wasn’t Jon right now.
“Jonathan, it’s not just one tiny little fuck up. You let that woman into your  space. You let her think that she actually had a chance with you.”  Dominique tried to stop her tears from falling, but she was hurt and angry and looking at his face wasn’t making her feel any better. “And then, you spent the night with your ex? You didn’t come to me, you didn’t try to talk to me, you went to her and I'm supposed to just forgive you?”
Jon stood there frozen as he watched the tears fall down her face, his heart heavy with the weight of Dominique’s pain that he caused. This was the second time in the four years they had been together that he had made her cry; the first being when he proposed in Paris.
“If I can take it all back I would Dominique.” Dominique sniffled and wiped her tears away.
“I don’t wanna talk about this anymore.” She muttered as Joe walked out the bathroom. “We have a flight to catch, are y’all ready?” Without waiting for a response she walked out of the locker room and towards the writers room to grab her bags.
Jon watched her walk away as a feeling of hopelessness washed over him. Their relationship was hanging on by a thread and he feared that with every passing moment, that thread was growing thinner and thinner. But he also knew that he couldn't force Dominique to forgive him, couldn't demand her love in return for his apologies.
“Sis, you okay?” Josh asked her as she walked past him.
“No,” She shrugged, sending him a soft smile. “But I will be.”
“I know Jon’s my twin, but I'm here for you, aight?” She nodded.
“Thank you Josh.”
Back in the locker room Jon groaned and plopped down on the steel chair. “You know I don’t like to get in y’all relationship business.” Joe started, walking closer to his cousin. “But Dominique is the one for you. I mean after you broke up with Trinity and brought Dom around, everyone and I mean everyone was skeptical about y’all relationship. But shit the whole family loves her now. Y’all gotta fix this,”
"I know, Joe," Jonathan admitted, his voice heavy with regret. "I messed up, big time. I don't know how to fix things with her."
Joe placed a reassuring hand on Jonathan's shoulder, offering him a sympathetic smile. "You just gotta show her, man.”

“Hey” Ishana said as Dom walked in. “You look rough.” Dominique rolled her eyes.
“I feel rough.” She muttered, walking over and grabbing her luggage.
“Jon again huh?” Dom nodded and let out a sigh. “So y’all still beefing?”
“Yes, he seems to think that he can just say sorry and everything will go back to normal.”
“Have you expressed how you feel though? About the whole situation, why you don’t wanna get married?” Dominique sighed and rolled her eyes.
“Ishana, I don't wanna talk about my problems with Jon right now.”
Ishana ignored her, “Communication is key, Dom. he’s taking accountability and you need to too.” Dom scoffed but Ishana held her hand up to silence her. “Okay I get it the girl kissed him and yes, he went to Trinity this morning  but to be honest you were looking for a way out of the engagement anyway.”  Dominique's eyes widened. Ishana's words hung in the air, heavy with truth and accusation. Dominique felt a mix of shock and anger rising within her, her mind racing to process what she had just heard.
“You’re joking right? Now is not the time to be funny.” Dominique said glaring at Ishana. “No, I wasn’t tryna find a way out of my engagement. I wanted to get married to Jon, just not right away.”
Ishana rolled her eyes.
“Bullshit. Ever since yall got engaged you’ve been picking fights with him and as your best friend it’s time I spoke up and told you about yourself. Yes he fucked up by letting that girl into his personal space but he’s been trying to talk to you, trying to apologize to you but you blocked him, how can he make things right if you’re closing off all communication with him?"
“You’re supposed to be on my side!”
Ishana shook her head, not believing how stubborn her best friend was being. “There is no sides, Dom. I want you and Jon to be happy. And in order for that to happen, you need to grow up. Not all marriages end in divorce.” Ishana said, grabbing her pocket book and walking out the room. Dominique stared at the closed door in shock. What the fuck was that?!

The WhumpWheel gave me: Barely Conscious... with CodyPunk pretty please? 🥺
Oh, go on then! 😁
Trick - 'Barely Conscious'
Characters - Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, The Rock, The Bloodline
Rating - Teen and up
Warnings - Physical assault, blood, whipping
The Chicago rain was bitter cold, as Cody discovered firsthand whilst lying face-down on the water-logged concrete, soaked to the bone in dripping wet clothes. His thin, button-down shirt had almost been torn right off his body, exposing his sun-cradled skin to the merciless elements and the arctic sting of the asphalt beneath him.
He couldn't move, couldn't run, could hardly even open his eyes, blinded by a concoction of rain and his own blood beading on his lashes. Pain throbbed in every part of his battered body, his head and stomach especially where the man who stood tall above him had beaten him ruthlessly.
The man had many different names. The Brahma Bull, the People's Champion, Rocky Maivia, the Great One, the Most Electrifying Man in all of Sport's Entertainment. The Rock. These days he was mainly called Dwayne Johnson, but since returning to the WWE, he insisted on being called The Final Boss.
And right now, he was showing Cody exactly why. He'd ambushed the younger man backstage at the end of Raw and pummelled him brutally, never once letting up as he threw Cody outside into the stormy night and slammed him into his own tour bus busting him open. It was then that he'd produced the weight belt, one he'd had specially crafted for this very occasion and flogged the helpless man with it until he lay on the brink of unconsciousness.
Out the corner of his eye, Cody could see his bus and the decal of his beloved dog Pharoah on the door. He felt a surge of relief that he wasn't there right now in case the brave husky saw his master's plight and came rushing to his rescue, putting himself in harm's way to face down the cruel brute.
Instead, someone far worse answered the call!
Cody's eyelids drooped for a moment and when they pulled back open, he spied a pair of baby pink sneakers blocking his view, a man in black jeans and a hoodie standing tall above him. The last piece of warmth in him turned ice cold and his fading mind began to scream in protest when he recognised his boyfriend, CM Punk, shielding him from the danger.
No! This can't be happening! Run, Punk, get away!
But his numb lips couldn't even form the words as the distinctive voice seeped into his ringing ears. 'Get the fuck out of here, Dwayne!'
The Rock gave a chuckle, amused at the audacity of the man who dared to stand up against him. 'Punk. It's been a while.' Punk tightened his fists, snarling at the larger man. 'I see nothing's changed.'
'I could say the same,' the tattooed man spat. 'Still strutting in like some big shot, trying to steal the spotlight.'
'It's my spotlight,' The Rock sneered. 'You're all just keeping it warm for me.'
'Nobody wants you here. Go back to Hollywood.'
'Big words coming from a big man,' Cody heard heavy footsteps coming closer and panicked. 'Especially when nobody wants you here either.'
It was too late! A stampede rushed over Punk from behind, knocking him down to the ground. Cody whimpered out a pathetic 'no' as he lay there and watched his boyfriend being set upon by Solo Sikoa and his false Bloodline. Watched as Punk tried to protect his head with his arms as boots came stomping down on top of him, fists flying into every part of him and there was nothing either of them could do to stop the onslaught.
'Pick him up!' The Rock barked and the rabid animals stepped back from their prey, hauling him up onto his knees and holding his arms out to either side in iron grips. Punk tried to blink some of the haze away, his eyes finding Cody's, who was losing his own battle to the darkness.
'Look at you,' The Rock smirked, grasping Punk by the chin. 'Like I said before, you haven't changed. Still a fly in the ointment, nothing but an annoying little shit.' He glanced over his shoulder, addressing Cody. 'This your special guy, huh Cody? This your little sweetheart?'
Punk yanked his face free and wound back. Hocking up a great glob of spit, he fired it right at The Rock, hitting him square in the eye. A call-back to the exact same insult he had done in their match at Elimination Chamber all those years ago.
And just like back then. The Rock wiped the goop from his eye and locked a deathly glare onto the younger man. 'You really should know better by now.'
'I'm not afraid of you!' Punk gave one last act of defiance, all while Cody shivered with terror on the floor.
'The Rock don't give a damn. TURN HIM AROUND!' The men holding him obeyed, twisting Punk around until his back faced their overlord. 'Remove his sweater.'
Together, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa seized the hem of Punk's hoodie and hauled it up over his head, leaving him in his sleeveless tee. No matter how much the tattooed man struggled, he could not break free from their grasp. Down on the floor, Cody tried to will his arm to move, to reach up and plead for Punk's life, for them to take him instead. But the blackness was creeping into his peripheral vision now. He would not last much longer.
The Rock's huge hand gripped the collar of Punk's tee and shredded it from his body, much like he had tried to do with Cody's button-down shirt, only this time he succeeded in removing it completely, leaving Punk's colourful body exposed from the waist up.
'You should know by now, Punk,' The Rock said again, as he coiled the heavy weight belt around his fist, testing the tough leather in his free hand. 'I beat you twice already, and that was back when you were in your prime. You were no match for me then, and you're no match for me now. But if you're not willing to listen then I'll gladly show you.'
The Rock pulled his arm back, the weight belt dangling from his fist. Punk writhed against the men holding him, yelling every profanity under the sun when-
A hand fell onto The Rock's shoe, hanging there limply. The older man paused and glanced down, finding Cody at his feet. It had taken every last ounce of strength for him to crawl over, he didn't even have enough in the tank to open his eyes and look up at the Final Boss, let alone beg for his lover's life.
'What?' The Rock's voice rumbled in his chest like a growl. 'What is it, you pile of trash?' The fingers feebly tried to grip tighter on his shoe but fell away again. 'You want The Rock to spare him, is that right? Show this little punk some mercy?'
The darkness was growing stronger but even so, Cody managed to wobble his head, desperately clinging to consciousness long enough to save the man he loved.
Something large and ominous bent down over him, its shadow throwing Cody away from the final flicker of light. 'Is The Rock's message not getting through to you? Do you not understand, you little bitch?' The face moved in closer, perfect, white teeth bared. 'The Final Boss... doesn't give a fuck about mercy!'
The shadow disappeared and a polished dress shoe smashed Cody in his broken ribs, flipping him onto his back. The icy rain lashed against his face and through the deluge he heard the whistle of leather snapping through the air, the grisly fwack of it colliding with tender flesh.
He heard the man he loved screaming.
And the tears began to flow from his eyes and the fresh wounds on his back burnt. Sensations that flared for a second before fading until the darkness claimed him entirely. He fell under, with the sound of Punk's anguished howls blaring in his skull.
'AHH!' Cody leapt up and found the space beside him in bed empty. He looked around the small bedroom in alarm. 'Punk? PUNK?'
Thumping footsteps and the door banged open, light spilling into the room and chasing away the shadows. Punk stood in the doorway in only a pair of loose shorts, cuts and bruises littering his body. His eyes were bulging with terror. 'Cody? What's wrong?'
The sight of his boyfriend instantly calmed him but all the same Cody leapt out of the bed and grabbed him by his bristled cheeks, feeling his solidness and warmth for himself. 'Oh, thank god,' he let out a shuddering sigh and kissed Punk on the lips. 'Where were you?'
'Couldn't sleep.' He replied, dazed from the scare. He thumbed behind him to the living area of Cody's tour bus where a mug of coffee and a book lay abandoned on the table, the book face down, spine open, discarded in a rush.
'For god's sake, you and your insomnia,' Cody cursed under his breath albeit with a small smile.
'You think I'd left or something?' There was hurt in his tone and it stung Cody so he quickly explained.
'No, no, nothing like that. I just... had a nightmare.'
'About me?'
'About us. And the Bloodline...'
'Oh, I get what-'
'And The Rock.'
Punk blinked at him. 'The Rock?' He scrunched up his face.
'He's back, Punk. At the end of the show, when you were still being seen to in the Trainer's Room, he showed up.'
Punk's bushy brows furrowed with growing concern. 'Did he hurt you?'
'No,' Cody shook his head, his thumb finding the large bandaid on his boyfriend's forehead and tenderly stroking it. 'No, he just stood there, but he was sending me a message.'
'He's out to finish what he started,' the tattooed man snarled. 'Well let him fucking try! I won't just stand around and let him beat you down like last time.'
Cody's chest grew tight. 'No,' he cried out. 'That's what I'm afraid of.' Punk's thin lips pursed together, turning white. 'Every time they want to get to me, they attack the people I care about. Kevin, Randy... they know they can't hurt me, so they hurt the ones I love instead.'
Punk gave a snort. 'I'm not scared of The Rock!'
And Cody's heart knotted tighter, a terrifying recollection of a moment in his dream manifesting into reality. 'I know you're not but I'm asking you, no, I'm begging you, not to let him get to you. Even if he ambushes me, assaults me, beats me down, you have to promise me that you will stay away.'
'Cody...' Punk shook his head sadly, cupping Cody's cheek with his large hand. 'I can't do that. What you're asking... it's impossible.'
It was. He knew it was. Punk was fiercely protective of those he cared about. It went against everything in his nature to let any harm happen to someone he loved. Cody knew this, because he was exactly the same.
He heaved a sigh of defeat. 'Fine then... just don't let him get his hands on you. Try to stay safe, ok?'
Punk quirked his brows. 'I can do that,' he said. 'Hell, I just about killed myself last night putting down a deranged Scotsman who's been on my ass for more than ten months. I'm not exactly in any rush to do it again. Getting stretched out a building gets real old real fast.'
They both gave a weak chuckle and Cody stroked his fingers through the greying bristles on Punk's cheeks. 'I love you so much.'
'I love you too. I'll always be there for you.'
'And I, you.'
The kissed each other again, shaking off any last lingering pangs of panic and when they pulled away, Cody gave a gentle tug on Punk's wrist. 'Come to bed,' he coaxed the older man. 'You need some real rest after that match.'
'I suppose,' he relinquished and followed his lover to their bed. 'I did just survive 'hell' after all.'
Cody laughed again but it was only a front, and as the pair snuggled into one another and began to drift off, Cody's mind couldn't stop replaying one last horrifying thought in his head over and over.
That his own personal hell was only just beginning!

WWE Royal Rumble (2025) - REVIEW

Tumblr media
MATCH 1 - 30 Women Royal Rumble Match
This Women's Royal Rumble, more than any of the previous ones, vindicated for me a negative view I had from the start, that this match lacked the build it deserved. This, for me, was a tremendous Rumble that showcased just how strong this roster is and I think more can and should be done with it. I did however, really like the on-screen tracker which showed how many stars were active, had been eliminated and what entry number was next. I cant remember this being included in previous Rumbles but I thought it looked slick.
The match offered surprises from the start with the number one entry: Iyo Sky. Sky was my pick for the Rumble this year before the reports of Charlotte Flair's impending return and strongly suspected win here. It was also suprising for me that they started with two heavy weights of the Women's division with Liv Morgan also starting but at number two. Given her run in 2024, it was a dead cert that Morgan wasn't going to win, but I thought they might save these two for later in the match. But the positive of course, and what we definitely got, was a quality start to the Women's Rumble from two of their strongest performers.
It also seemed booked to reflect the depth of talent at their disposal as, aside from the very start and end, there was never less than at least three women in the match at one time. For the vast majority I thought this worked although nearer the end I felt that there were too many in the ring especially as a sequence between Iyo Sky and Giulia didn't quite work. However a sequence that saw six women, and big names as that, eliminated at the same time to get to the final five, was a memorable moment for me.
But the quality of the in-ring work was excellent and everyone, from the top stars to the mid card, looked on point. Particular stand outs for me included:
Iyo Sky started the match strong and featured through most of the match. I thought Sky could've been a real contender to win this match year but she was at least made to look very strong.
Liv Morgan has put in fantastic performances in the last 3 Royal Rumbles and had she not had the 2024 that she had, she could've been as much as a contender as Iyo Sky this year. But another strong showing here is testament tot just how far she has come.
Chelsea Green is absolute comedy gold and the presentation with Piper Niven is working very nicely on Smackdown. Green is making the most of her run as Women's United States Champion and that the fans are increasingly getting behind her is testament to how well it is working for her right now.
Ivy Nile looked impressive with a power based presentation that suits her heel turn with the Creed Brothers. They utilised the match to make her look stronger and set up a future Intercontinental title match with Lyra Valkyria at the same time. The segment with Maxxine Dupri also brief but was delivered perfectly as that minor feud was allowed to play out.
Bianca Belair and Naomi are probably the best Women's Tag Team Champions since Bayley and Sasha Banks' run as heel champions in 2020/21. But they have been regular features and deliver quality match after quality match. Their standing during this match showcased that.
Pure Fusion Collective is a group with a terrible name that I'm not sure WWE knows necessarily knows what to do with. However I thought they had a good showing here and I especially liked how they dominated as a trio and I thought it was a nice touch that they were eliminated all at once.
Jordynne Grace had a great showing with a positive reaction from the crowd who especially cheered for her slamming, the rather underrated, Piper Niven.
It was also a match that continued the trend of surprises from legends to NXT talent. Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia made their Rumble debuts and looked very strong but unquestionably it was Roxanne Perez who shined most and surely can't be far away from a main roster call up.
But not everyone ended up looked strong however as it was painfully clear that the presentation of Michin simply isn't working. The crowd didn't react and seemed to go silent once she arrived. Something needs to change.
I also felt sorry for for the Rumble debuting Lyra Valkyria who suffered a wardrobe malfunction early on that stopped her momentum briefly but the fans did applaud once she got back into action. I'm a big fan of hers and I fear that this is all she will be remembered for in this match but I'm hopeful bigger things will come for her as I see her as a future World champion.
While Charlotte Flair's return was expected, there was the surprise and welcome returns for Trish Stratus, Nikki Bella and, perhaps most notably, Alexa Bliss. I thought this was a Rumble that perfectly balanced the past, present and future with the lack other legends a welcome testament again to the quality of the roster right now.

OVERALL
I thoroughly enjoyed the match and thought it was a high-quality Rumble that deserved more promoting than it got. I felt in the moment that the predictability of the outcome hurt it slightly, but I thought it was well laid out match as a whole where layers were added at the right moments to give it a boost where needed. The crowd was getting very quiet around the number 23rd and 24th entries, but they pulled it back for the finish. Charlotte Flair was not my preferred choice given the timing of her return and the quality of stars available. Having re-watched the match again the following day and appreciating the overall quality of the match itself, the result doesn't bother me quite as much. But it's also another Rumble where I couldn't always tell who was coming in based on the entrance music. It's getting better, but the issue is still there.

MATCH 2 - 2 out of 3 Falls Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship: DIY (champions) vs. Motor City Machine Guns
I was very happy that this match was included on this Royal Rumble card. It's been a long while since the Tag Team Titles were defended on a PLE and for me, the tag team division has been bubbling away nicely the last few months. With teams such as the Creed Brothers, The War Raiders, Judgment Day, A-Town Down Under, The Wyatt's, Pretty Deadly, Street Prophets and others, there is a healthy pool there to make the division stand out once again.
It's a shame therefore that the match never managed to reach the heights of greatness that it probably could've on another show. Perhaps it was that it had to follow the Women's Rumble or maybe because we saw this match the previous evening on SmackDown. It wasn't a bad match by any means and it did get some reaction from the crowd in the latter stages, but this was a match that I felt could've been better. I at least liked the Street Prophets involvement that will keep this story going and will hopefully lead to something special at WrestleMania.

MATCH 3 - Ladder Match for the WWE Universal Championship: Cody Rhodes (champion) vs. Kevin Owens
This feud has ignited Cody Rhodes' reign as champion which had been solid up to this point but lacked a meaningful feud to make it truly memorable. Kevin Owens for his part, is an outstanding heel challenger and has been on fire himself since taking Randy Orton out of action. It's shocking to me that he hasn't had more World title reigns in his time.
This is match given the true fight night feel in a way that the Tag Title match didn't feel like and it's been a while since a Single's Ladder match has taken place, so it does feel kind of fresh here. It doesn't take long for this brawling match to exploit the benefits of being No Disqualification. Cody took an early bump through a ladder onto the concrete and another one soon after they finished a brawl through the crowd. This is not your classic tag team ladder match with plenty of fast paced, creative, high spots. This is a more character driven, brutal bout more akin to the classic Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels WrestleMania X match. They both take some body slams onto the ladders which looks incredibly painful for me just sitting and watching this at home and they both sell the consequences of the impact to intensify the drama.
There were up to five ladders in play, three set up to take some high impact landings which you know are going to be scary to watch. Owens is back flipped and lands on the edge of a ladder while Cody takes a powerbomb that looks to catch the back of his head rather than back. I'd love to know who they truly feel after these sort of matches. But it is a fisherman's brain buster from Kevin Owens onto another ladder that is the biggest bump of the match and is sold significantly so that WWE officials and Sami Zayn arrive to really in add to the drama.
There has been talk over the last year whether Cody would be more effective as a heel wrestler and to be fair, the final stages of this match gives us a little hint of what that could look like. Rhodes brutalizes Owens in the final stages with a nasty looking Alabama slam through a ladder and claims the win. It's a fantastic finish to a fantastic match but the merciless way he finishes and the nature of his celebration over Owens' broken body was definitely eye catching. It's interesting what role Sami Zayn is being positioned for here and that he didn't really get involved.
Tumblr media
Perhaps the most open and unpredictable men's Rumble matches that there's ever been. This match is that star studded, with so much talent worthy of the top spot that it's genuinely difficult to predict an outcome. This was also promoted very well with so many stories intertwining that the prospect of them all colliding is a mouth watering prospect. Most of all, it lived up to its billing and delivered an outstanding Royal Rumble that, like the Women's, showcased the depth of talent that WWE currently has. Plus the ending was a complete surprise and from what I've seen online in the hours since, a polarizing one.
I wondered whether they were playing it slightly safe with the legend that is Rey Mysterio at number one however Penta's arrival at number two was just genius and the fan reaction tells you why. Neither were ever going to win this match, but they started it off in stunning fashion although it looked like Penta almost came close to a nearly botched elimination. I also thought it was clever to introduce Chad Gable and continue this rivalry from Raw. Full props for starting this Rumble match strongly as well with the additon of high flyers such as Carmelo Hayes and Santos Escabar really setting the pace for the early stages of this match.
Speed, who I knew/know nothing about, was a surprise celebrity entry in a brief but funny moment with Bron Breakker and Otis. Breakker in particular starts to make an impact and mixes things up slightly. It's all fun stuff but you definitely get the sense that it's waiting for the big names to enter to really kick things into gear.
The mighty and impressive Jacob Fatu arrived at number 12 and instantly made an impression by eliminating Gable, Mysterio and Andrade. He's been the breakout star from the Bloodline feud of 2024 and he's especially been impressive the last few weeks as well. The dynamic of the match changes  permanently as Roman Reigns enters the Rumble at 16. After clearing house, he takes a massive spear from Bron Breakker with the look on Paul Heyman's face absolutely priceless.
One of the many outstanding moments of this Rumble see's Roman finally take on Jacob Fatu one on one while Penta is amusingly forgotten about in the corner. But this marks the true beginning of the Rumble as those big names, McIntyre, Cena, Punk and Rollins arrive one after another. The clash of just two of these stars would be a moment in itself, but having so many in the ring at one time with this storytelling and stakes? This Rumble for me was destined to achieve legendary status.
Given the pre-match build-up and star studded quality, this is a Rumble that didn't really utilise many surprise entries, but then it didnt need to. Joe Hendry got a big pop while it was also great to see AJ Styles get a good reaction as he returns from injury. But there were some notable absences such as Solo Sikoa, Toma Tonga, Randy Orton, R-Truth and even no-one from the NXT roster such as Obi Femi or Trick Williams.
But it comes back to what I said previously about the Women's Rumble, this Rumble showcased just how much talent is in the current WWE roster and how strong this era is right now.
Standout performers for me included:
Penta looked very impressive in his Rumble debut and help get the match off to a strong start. He mixed it up with several superstars and I did especially like some double teaming with Roman Reigns.
Bron Breakker had a longer sting in this Rumble and had a few standout moments from kick starting the eliminations, his moment with Speed and an exchange with Roman Reigns.
Jacob Fatu was also a Rumble debutant and WWE seem fully aware of what they have with him. He had dominant showing which made so much sense for this character. I'm a big fan of his already.
Roman Reigns spent half the match in the Rumble and had some notable exchanges. Reigns hasn't appeared in the Rumble with the Tribal Chief character before and I felt that his performance here really showed how far he has come and just how well it's working right now.
John Cena - I've not always been a Cena fan but the story they're telling with him is an interesting one and I thought he put on a great showing despite not wrestling much these days.
Seth Rollins is perhaps the best in-ring wrestler WWE has right now but there was an intensity to his exchanges with CM Punk and Roman Reigns. If this is what WrestleMania is going to look like, then he has got the ball moving is a memorable way.
Tumblr media
When Damian Priest arrived at 28, I wrote the following in my notes:
The ring is really starting to fill up with the very best of WWE. I still can't call this match but my pre-match prediction was CM Punk.
My prediction for the final four was Reigns, Cena, Punk and Rollins. I was significantly off with this prediction which brings me to the two biggest surprises of the match for me. Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso.
Drew McIntyre was one of the MVPs of 2024 with an incredible run with CM Punk and some great heel work. He entered the Rumble strongly as he engaged with Roman Reigns which is the genrally direction I assumed he would be taking to WrestleMania. But his elimination by Damian Priest felt off and seemed to lack consequence. The word after the match that something hadn't gone right here felt true in the way the moment played out. The elimination of Reigns, Rollins and Punk delivered one of the Rumble's key moments when Seth Rollins lost it and curb stomped Roman Reigns twice. Is this what WrestleMania will be, then where does it leave Drew McIntyre?
I would've been disappointed if both Rumbles had a predictable outcome, but I didn't think it would be this unpredictable. I thought Triple H was very brave to subvert expectations in the most star studded Royal Rumble by having Jey Uso win and it was a great moment. Don't get me wrong, Jey is definitely popular and has had a remarkable journey to get to this point, but I haven't been too sure about him as a singles' star. Yet I cheered for him when he won his brief Intercontinental championship and I cheered here. Maybe I'm being harsh, I don't know, but there's no question that Jey Uso put on an outstanding performance and for me, solidified this Rumble as one of the best.
Tumblr media
OVERALL
I genuinely thought that this was one of the best Royal Rumble matches I've seen. It had such a strong build up, so many intertwining stories, and it felt so open. But the match quality delivered with newer stars establishing themselves strongly while the top stars lived up to their billing. The criticism online for the result here feels hypocritical when you consider what the Women's Rumble match was criticised for. But I thought the 2025 Royal Rumble produced two outstanding and fun matches and not to mention a hard-hitting ladder match. The Royal Rumble is my favourite annual WWE event with the exception, maybe, of WrestleMania.  This one really delivered.

You Are The Tribal
Chiefs Baby Now
Tumblr media
*i do not own the rights to this gif*
Summary: With the biggest Wrestlemania match happening, Y/N is some how wrapped around Romans finger. How? Well basically when Brock made the stipulation for winner takes all, he included her.
Warning: Swearing, Claiming, Mild Mention of Sexual Things, Kinky obvi, Dom! Tribal Chief, possessive! Roman.
A/N: I really just came up with this one right now and i’m excited to get this out in like 2 hours or so. Hopefully it is long and enjoyable.
Tumblr media
“Y/N calm down! Im sure Brock will try and secure the titles and you. He won’t let you go to Roman even if he wins.” Kayla said trying to calm her down.
“Really? Kayla im literally about to faint. Im scared shitless. I’ve been with Brock since paul turned on him at the rumble.
I’ve help him get the where he is now. What can i help do for Roman? Paul has done everything already while i can’t do much for Roman but be a piece of jewelry on his arm every time you see him.”
“Or you can just worry about Brock winning for right now. You two have been friends even before this! Since UFC! Trust me he won’t let anything happen.”
“Or Kayla you can run along.” They both froze and turned around seeing Roman Reigns the tribal chief himself.
Kayla looked at Y/N and mouthed she was sorry and ran off. Y/N turned around and rolled her eyes. “Why isn it the Not So Head Of the Table. How may i help you?”
He chuckled and moved closer which made her step back.
“Oh Y/N by the end of the night will you be saying my name correctly babygirl. You and that title will be rightfully in my hands like they were supposed to a long time ago.” He looked her up and down.
“Tell me does he know about us? Our past? Hell our future?”
Y/N looked at him. “Don’t you dare every mention anything to Brock-“
“Baby~ What type of guy do you take me as? Of course the Tribal Chief will keep his mouth quiet but please”
he paused to move closer and whisper “I miss burying my cock deep in that warm embrace.” He said and kissed her cheek and back up. “See you later tonight, Ms. Y/N”
She watched him walk him away and she was literally frozen.
Her and Roman go back more than her and brock.
Roman and Y/N were in a relationship back in the Shield Days for him. They were in love yes definitely but it just didn’t work out. Her going back and forth from UFC to WWE when brock would appear was just too much for her.
Of course Roman didn’t seem a reason for them to break up he knew how to make things work and he was willing to make all of this work!
They did try but once Roman started getting jealous and more possessive it was harder on her to forever keep up with this.
When they broke up, it was heart breaking for them both but they felt it was for the better.
Once Y/N came back to WWE officially around SummerSlam, Roman was happy I mean, his literally life was back in the company. He found out that she was on Brock’s side… oh he wasn’t so happy at all.
He trashed his entire locker room and made Paul find someone to clean it up.
Tumblr media
(Before the match ending)
Y/Ns POV
“One .. TWO…THREE! Here is your winner AND THE NEW UNDISPUTED HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION… ROMAN REIGNS!”
I was shocked and in disbelief. He won the titles and he won me. No, that won’t happen i won’t allow it.
I look up and see Roman eyeing me like i’m his prey or last dinner. I look over and see Paul holding the ropes waiting for me to get in the ring.
I look over and grab a mic. “ No, No Cut the music. Congratulations on your win and all but you aren’t getting me . You are even crazier than i even led you to be.
I never agreed to being with you so there for i won’t be your little bitch.” I said and dropped the mic hearing the crowd go wild. I stood up, a female at that, I stood up to the do called tribal chief. i turned on my heels and started up the ramp.
“Y/N, Get your ass down here. I won one of my awards now i need and will have my other one.” he said and rolled out the ring ans started following me up the Ramp.
I speed up my walking into like jogging. No. Im not gonna he his i don’t want to be.
“Y/N!” I heard him yell. I stopped once i realized that where i was heading was to a Dead end.
“What do you want huh? Roman i don’t care what we had years ago. I work with and for Brock you just win a title or a match and think you own me too!
Remember You decided you want me to choose between you or UFC, and he’ll it wasn’t like i had a choice! You demanded me to choose you and i did. For a year i choose you.
But i grew tired of not being able to do what i love with people i love. So i left you Ro, I left you so you could find someone who could love you better and work while doing it.”
“Look, i’m sorry that our pass didn’t work out and i would see why you hate my guts i get that. But i want to do better now. I will do better.
I want you Y/N to myself i hate having to share you with anyone because i just deeply love you that way.
Im not leaving till you rightfully on my side where you belong.” He finished and looked at him.
God those Brown eyes always did something to me i couldn’t control.
I looked up at him and sighed and said “Once i join you or whatever you call this no funny business.”
He chuckled and then smirked pulling me closer but also stepping closer so there was no space left between us.
“Babygirl i call the shots around here. I promise there will no funny business. Nothing but sweet loving to you from me. Can’t have my queen working like a dog now can I?” He looked at me up and down and but his lip.
To be honest i missed everything about roman but no one knew about us so how would we pull this off? Im not blood so why am i apart of the bloodline.
“I’m not apart of the Bloodline so what good does this do for me?”
“ Well You will be The Tribal Chiefs Assistant. You will be First in charge of everything but Paul will be the one making it official. I want you to be the man part of this Y/N you will be the Tribal Chiefs Queen in Charge.”
I nodded listening to him. Being in charge? An Assistant? Well it’s better than what i did for Brock in UFC and here put together.
“I really want to make this important and special to both of us.” He smiled at me and picked me up.
“I love you with all my heart Y/N let me make this right for both of us. Please?”
I chuckled and smiled “Fine! We better make this right Ro, I really want to”
he kissed my cheek then my lips and smiled at me “ Finally, You Are The Tribal Chiefs Baby Now”

That video of the couple was soooo cute!! Which neo do you think would really want a relationship like that? ☺️
[ the video in question ]
johnny is absolutely one of the members that enjoy having this kind of playful relationship. it’s very american brand, vaguely crackhead humor, that johnny clearly has. i can imagine johnny and his s/o being one of those that jokingly fights, like squaring up to ‘throw down’ when you accidentally bump into him (“did you just run into me? do you know who i am? oh so you must wanna fight!”); he definitely rough houses with his s/o bc he’s a dork and also way too damn big and buff not to throw you around just because he can. so having you jump on him or nearly body slam him is right up his alley.
what’s that saying? canada is like the cute little granny that lives in the apartment above the meth addicts? anyways mark has like watered down american humor, probably curtesy of johnny, mark gets a little rowdy with his members when he doesn’t think he’s being watched (when mark just like yeeted haechan outta his way before realizing he was being filmed....lmao.), he belly flops on you a lot just bc he’s a butt, and finds it funny when you get the air knocked clean out of you and you try to scrabbled out from under his weight (“how do you weigh like a buck 20 and still be this fucking heavy! get off you cow!”) before you tap out and mark declares himself the WWE champion.
yuta definitely loves that kind of teasing relationship. he’s always messing with you in similar ways, feigning he’s going to kiss you just to shove you out of bed and race you to the bathroom first thing in the morning, shrieking the whole way when you give chase. yuta doesn’t hide the pleased grin when you start crawling into his lap, desire already filling his gaze when you move to stand above him before he remembers who exactly he’s dealing with and diving off the side of the bed before you have a chance to knock him throw the mattress. makes sexy times like flipping a coin, will it be a real attempt at seduction or a plow to get his guard down, he can never tell but yuta wouldn’t have it any other way. “babe, i know how this is going to go, but i’m hard and not in the mood to play guessing games, are we fucking or what?”
though he’s more of a verbal little shit, yangyang has his moments. plus i feel like if america is a meth lab, germany has to be like...shooting heroin or something. cuddling very easily turns into wresting matches until you’re arguing and looking like a bad game of twister happened, demanding the other tap out and admit defeat. (“the pizza dude is here, just fucking tap! i’m hungry!”—“no way! i have you pinned, you tap!”) crawling into his lap on the couch more than often ends in someone getting smacked with a throw pillow, and igniting a full blown pillow fight, loser pays for dinner.

*Dean's POV*
Y/N's now six months along in the pregnancy. I was pacing the locker room lost in my thoughts, until Y/N, snaps me out of it. "Dean?" She calls out from the door of the locker room, with one hand on her belly and the other on her hip. "Yes, Baby Doll?" I replied looking at her. "I'm hungry. I want jalapeno cheetos and yogurt." She said waddling over to me carefully. "In my duffle bag is some cheetos you like, and the yogurt is in the fridge over there, Baby Girl." I replied to her as I held her hips and kiss her softly. She smiled kissing back. "Thank you, Daddy." She said softly to me so, only I hear it.
"You're welcome, Baby Doll." I replied. There was a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I called out. "Nia and Randy." Randy calls back. "Come in." I said to them. "Hey." They said as they walked into the room. "Hey. What's up?" I asked. "Nia and I, are coming to watch over Y/N." Randy said. "Okay. She is not to leave either of your sides." I said as I finished taping my wrists off for my match. Nia nods her head. "We know Dean. I will not let her out of my sight. Someone tries to hurt her I'll break the bones." Nia said. "Good." I replied as Y/N absentmindedly watched videos and ate her food. I kissed her forehead before I went to leave for my match tonight.
*Little time skip*
After my match with Baron, i walked to my locker room and seen Y/N, sleeping and Randy and Nia talking quietly. Y/N stirs in her sleep whimpering a little. Knowing the reason she is stirring I lay my hand softly on her belly humming to sooth the pups movements. After a minute the pups relax and Y/N stops stirring and whimpering. Her eyes flutter open as she looks at me "Thank you" she whispers softly before drifting back off to sleep. "You're welcome, Baby Doll." I whisper to her. I look over at Randy and Nia. "What are y'all talking about?" I asked them as I stood up and walked over to them. "Randy here is wanting to court a female but can't figure out how what to get her" Nia said to me as she looks at me." I looked at Randy "What is one thing that she loves more than anything?" I asked him as I sat down and talked with them. "She loves to draw, dance, take photographs" Randy replies to me. "Okay. Why don't you buy her one of them computers that will allow her to record videos, has the pen and apps to draw, a camera to take as many photo's her little heart desires." I offered. "Thank you, I just said that to him" Nia said. "You can also get it in her favorite color(s) too." Nia said. "It won't be cheesy will it?" Randy asked us. "No, it won't but, even if it is, it's the thought that counts." Nia said. "I agree with Nia. The courting gift that I picked out for Y/N, was a necklace with a little teddy bear and ice cream pendants on it. She loved it and wears it still to this day." I said to him.
"Thanks you too" Randy said to me. "You're welcome" Me and Nia said at the same time to Randy. "So, who's all coming to the baby's shower?" Nia asked me. "Well for a sure note so, far it is going to be, You and Randy, Lana, Rusev, Me, Roman, Seth, some of the other wrestlers and divas will be there as well. Y/N invited her family and friends outside of the wwe as did me and the guys did. Y/N wasn't leaving her friends that has been like family to her since she's been here." I said. Nia smiled as she nods. "You okay?" Randy asks. "Yeah just hoping I'll be a good father." i said to them as I turned my head to check on Y/N before I turned back to Randy and Nia. "You will be Dean" I heard a small voice say. I turn my head to the voice and it was Y/N, sitting up on the couch rubbing her eyes softly. "I'm sorry, Baby Doll. I didn't mean to wake you up." I said to her as I watched her get up and waddle over to me to sit on my lap. "No, Daddy it's okay." Y/N said to me as she snuggles into me.
Roman and Seth, walked into the room and looks at us. "Wrapped around her finger" Roman whispered to Seth. "I heard that. And I won't argue with the statement either. I don't care that I am wrapped around her finger." I said to them. Nia and Randy just chuckled as they stood up. "We're going shopping to get stuff for the Baby shower." Nia said. "Rusev, and a few of the others will meet us at the huge mall" Randy said to us. "What happened between him and Lana." Nia asked Randy. "Lana divorced him for another alpha."
I looked down at Y/N, as she was eating her food while looking at her Tumblr. I smiled seeing her happy and relaxed for once and not upset and scared. She went from lookin' at Tumblr to lookin' at Wish. I knew she wanted something by the fact she would pout at me and show me what she was looking at. I pulled out my wallet, an handed her my credit card. "Get whatever you want Baby Doll." I said to her. Triple H walked in and seen what I did and chuckles. "She definitely gets what she wants." Roman nods. "He doesn't tell her no" He said. Y/N, giggles softly. "Nope, I don't tell her no. If she wants something she gets it." I said to everyone. "Told you." Randy, said to Seth. Seth, grumbles and hands Randy, fifty dollars. "Alright Baby Doll, I have to go get ready for my match." I said as I softly set Y/N, down. She whines softly "Nooooo." I frown a little "I promise, I'm coming back as soon as I am done with my match."
"Okay." She said. I hated leaving her side but I still had a job to do. I give her a kiss on the lips before I walked to the gorilla pen. "Here is your number one contender for the Wwe world heavy weight championship. Dean Ambrose!!!!" Jillian announced. I walked out to the ring with a firm glare set on my face. I knew this was going to be a long match because I was going against, Matt Hardy. He is one hell of a fighter and neither one of us get along with the other all that great.
As the match went on me and Matt were both bloody. I was able to get him with Dirty Deeds. "1...2...3... and your new champion is Dean Ambrose." The ring announcer says threw the mic. I walk up the ramp backwards holding the title up in my hands smirking evily.
I walk behind the curtain and walk down the corridor to my assigned locker room. I hear shouting and stuff crashing. I ran into the room seeing Y/N, hiding and Rusev and Bobby Lashley going at it while Seth and Roman are protecting Y/N, by standing in between her and them. "What the fuck is going on?" I yelled. "Bobby started it with Rusev." Nia said. Nia and Randy are trying to break them up. Bobby throws a vase at Rusev who ducks and it hits the wall beside Y/N's head. Dean dropped his belt and grabs Bobby, and throws him. "Now you fucked up you son of a bitch" I scream heated as I swing on Bobby. Y/N was shaking and crying. Seth picked her up checking her. He seen her hand is cut from accidently setting her hand on it trying to push against the wall to hide from all the yelling, and she was bleeding on the cheek from the glass bouncing off the wall. "Roman she has glass in her hand and cheek" Seth said. Roman's eyes went wide and he growls and pulls me away and grabs, Bobby himself. "Your my next match next week. I'm gonna show you what pain feels like" He said throwing Bobby, out the room and drags him to Triple H where him and The Rock was talking. They look at him and he tells them what happened. The Rock, growled "Make that a tag team match." He didn't like Alphas messing with other Alphas ladies or them causing harm to females.
"I will go announce it tonight at the end of the show." Triple H, said to Roman. Roman nods walking back not seeing us because we had took Y/N, to the infirmary. Roman panicked and only got angrier. "Y/N!!!!" He said looking for Y/N, Seth and Dean up and down hallways and locker rooms. Y/N, jumps hearing Roman yell for her. "Roman's mad." She whimpers softly looking at Seth. "Shhh it's okay. I'll go get him and let him know you're safe." Seth said to her softly kissing her cheek that wasn't cut. I held Y/N's, hand while Seth, went to find Roman. "Hey, she is okay just a small little cut on the cheek and the palm of her hand." Seth told Roman. "No, one came and fucking told me she was being taken to the infirmary." He said enraged by the fact no, one told him that Y/N, was going to the infirmary. "Calm down, Roman. We just wanted to make sure she was okay and not seriously hurt." Seth said to Roman. "And I'm her mate I should know too." He yells. "Okay, next time we will tell you. Please calm down. Y/N, can feel your anger and it is upsetting her." Seth adds as he looks at Roman. Roman rubs his hand down his face sighing. "Okay. I am calm. Now can I go see her?" Roman asked. Seth steps out of his way to let him by. Roman walked into the infirmary where Y/N, was at sitting on the edge of the bed and I was between her legs comforting her. "Daddy Roman!" She said reaching for him. He looks at her and walked over kissing her lips resting his head on hers. "I'm sorry Princess, for upsetting you." Roman said apologizing to her. She snuggles into him. "It's okay. You were worried about us. I understand, Daddy." She said. "I love you, Daddy." She whispered to him. "I love you, Princess." Y/N, smiles softly at his words until she whimpers seeing someone walk in.
"Oh look the big dog has been tamed by the little bitch." Dolph said laughing as he looks at Roman. "What did you just say about them?" I said to him. "I called her a Little bitch." He repeated. Roman growls pulling away from Y/N, making her whimper and reach for Roman. "She isn't no, such thing. She is beautiful and smart." Roman said. His eyes changed to a fiery red. "What's wrong Big Dog? Your lesh being pulled to tame you some more." Dolph said. "You can say what you want about me. But, you leave Y/N, the fuck alone." He said punching him in the jaw hard. Y/N, watched what was happening. I picked up Y/N, and carried her out as Seth pulled Roman, off Dolph. "Come on Roman, stop before you get arrested." Seth said as he pushes Roman back. "I don't care. No, one calls Princess, a Little Bitch." He said to him as he looks at him. "But beating him almost to death isn't gonna do anything either. Roman roars and throws stuff starting to get everyone's attention. "Roman you need to calm down." Seth said, to him. I knew Roman would calm down if Y/N, was there to sooth his angry Alpha side. "Okay I wanna help him. Take me to Daddy Roman, please?" She said reading my mind. I nodded my head carrying her. "Okay Baby." I set her on her feet as she makes slow steps towards Roman. He felt her presents and swiftly turns to her, eyes still red. "Daddy, its me. Your Princess. Y/N" She said softly reaching her hand up to touch his cheek. He growls a little but not to scare her. He wraps his arms around her waist pulling her close to him. "Shhh relax. It's okay. I'm okay, and I am safe." She said soothing the angry Alpha. He placed his head on her shoulder nudging her neck softly with his nose which earned a small mewl from Y/n's, lips.
I watched relieved that he calmed down. I hated seeing my brothers upset. Me, Roman, and Seth were like brothers.

14 with Rae?
14. play wrestling [valkyrae headcanons]
prompt list
so sometimes you and rae like to play around with mika, which means tossing her toys around and running through the house, but the girl is a little moody and likes to give up on playtime in the middle of it
rae usually stops after that and places all of mika’s toys back, but for some reason, you thought it’d be funny to mess around with rae
“hey, babe, come catch it!”
“you’re so weird, i’m not doing that.”
she caves 30 seconds later and chases you around the house for a damn squeaky toy while threatening you
“give it back or i will physically fight you.”
“you wouldn’t dare.”
surprisingly, she actually tackles you — like… she fully throws her entire body weight at you — and suddenly you’re both rolling on the ground trying to take it away from the other
imane walks into the room for something and immediately turns on her heel because y’all are acting funny and she doesn’t want to see where this is going
you think you might win this made up game but, unfortunately for you, rae’s training at the gym has made her a lot stronger and more agile than you, so she pulls a move like she’s a wwe champion or something and SNATCHES the toy from you while pinning your arms down so you can’t steal it back
you’re both breathing heavy and kinda sweaty which should be gross but you look at rae and she’s literally just as gorgeous as usual. she’s stupidly hot. she’s unbearably breathtaking. she’s — okay let me stop simping
anyway, you give her the goofiest smile ever which she mirrors, and you both just start laughing because that was so ridiculous and mika is just sitting in the other room looking bored of whatever that was, but at least you got your energy out
alright maybe not all of it. y’all made out immediately after

Seisan Matchi - Yoshiko vs Act Yasakawa
In 2015, Joshi Wrestling was experiencing something of a renaissance thanks to a wealth of both experienced and up and coming wrestlers under various promotions across Japan. Stardom is consistently recognised as one of the premier Joshi Puroresu companies in Japan and has had established the careers of wrestlers such as Io Shirai, Kairi Hojo (Kairi Sane in WWE) and Mayu Iwatani to name but a few. Since its inception in 2010. They were always known for high quality matches that would outshine the US companies at the time who were still establishing their women’s wrestling as they moved away from the era of the Diva.
Throughout the 80’s and 90’s, Joshi Puroresu was always well respected, not just in Japan but across the world as talents would travel into the US and perform for WWF and WCW, most notably Bull Nakano who won the then WWF women’s title in 1994. And in reverse, there was a wealth of US talent that would travel to Japan to ply their trade with their Japanese peers, learning the style that was much more than the glamour of the American counterparts. Women such as Madusa (Alundra Blayze), Monster Ripper and Amazing Kong (later Awesome Kong) would establish themselves within the Joshi system despite being Gaijin (foreigners).
World Wonder Ring Stardom – known more commonly as Stardom – was founded in 2010 by former All Japan Women producer Rossy Ogawa, retired wrestler Fuka Kakimoto (known as Fuka) and professional wrestler Nanae Takahashi (known as Nanae). Although Stardom prides itself in hard hitting matches and work rate, it has previous come under fire for its unfair approach to pushing its female stars, placing a huge emphasis on the attractiveness of its stars to promote the company. This would be considered common within the Joshi system as the majority of the people that are attending the shows are male. Usually around 70% of the fanbase at shows are male, but in counter to that New Japan shows, which have Male only talent, the fan base is around 60% female.
This emphasis on attractiveness and professional jealousy is what is believed to be the main reason for what happened on February 22nd, 2015 at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall at a Stardom event which was contested for the World of Stardom Championship.
Yoshiko Hirano was born July 26th, 1993. At the time of the incident, she was 21 years old. She was trained by Stardom founders Nanae and Fuka, as well as her tag team partner Natsuki Taiyo and Yuu Yamagata. She was a part of Stardom’s first trainees alongside Mayu Iwatani and Yoko Bito. She was given a heel persona which followed the style of the Yankii culture, which is considered to be brash, non-conforming and disrespectful.
Yusa Yasakawa was born November 13th, 1986. She made her Pro Wrestling debut in 2012 for Stardom, for whom she wrestled exclusively during her career. She was trained by Stardom founder Fuka. She has won the World of Stardom championship twice and was forced to vacate the title on both occasions due to injuries and illness. In 2014, after several defences of her belt, she relinquishes due to complications with her thyroid which was linked to Graves Disease. She went away for cataract surgery and returned to wrestle again 12 months later.
Yoshiko was considered to be protégé of Nanae, a true monster wrestler who was moulded in the old-fashioned Joshi style that was more in place with that of the cotemporaries of All Japan women. At the time of the match, she was the World of Stardom champion. Act Yasakawa was more of a style for the newer generation of Joshi puroresu. She was smaller in stature that Yoshiko and also, from the view of those higher up in the company, considered to be more attractive and marketable than her counterpart. Both women were part of the same stable in Stardom at one point named Kawasaki Katsushika Saikyou Densetsu Plus One.
As the match begins, both women stare across the ring from each other before they eventually begin trading blows with elbows and punches connecting wildly. Yoshiko, as the bigger of the two, managed to drag Yasakawa to the ground after throwing lots of punches at her face in the corner. The referee intervenes at this point and forces a break by Yoshiko as he can see that Yasakawa is bleeding heavily from her nose and mouth. Yasakawa crawls to the corner where she is checked on by the referee and Kyoko Kimura who was at ringside. The referee goes across to Yoshiko and you can sim him making a closed fist gesture, warning her that she must not punch with a closed fist which is traditional in wrestling to protect your opponent. As Yasakawa gets treatment from her corner, the camera zooms in to Yoshiko’s welted hands. The match was barely 1 minute in from the start bell and her hands showed signs of the closed fist punches that she’s was warned of by the referee.
The match restarts and Yasakawa is still getting to her feet when Yoshiko makes her way to the centre of the ring. Yoshiko makes a grab for Yasakawa’s hair which forces her into the ropes. She manages to fight back hitting her with some punches of her own, but Yoshiko is much larger and stronger than the smaller Yasakawa and hits her with a few more punches to the head and body before taking her to the ground again. Yoshiko then continues the use palm strikes to the side of Yasakawa’s head and face before standing up and moving away for a brief moment. The clearly frustrated Act stands up, still blood running from her nose and staggered from the assault.
Act approaches Yoshiko, looking as if she tries to engage with her to cooperate but Yoshiko stands stoic, hands on hips to signify her disrespect towards her opponent. Act throws a kick towards Yoshiko’s left side, but she grabs her leg and swings another palm strike towards Yasakawa’s face which narrowly misses, and they grapple into the centre of the ring, where Yoshiko again has gained the top control. Act’s head is in between Yoshiko’s legs and unable to attack, so Yoshiko powers Act over onto her back and struggles to manoeuvre into a position to attack again before Yasakawa gets her foot onto the ropes to force a break. As the referee asks for the break, Yoshiko places herself into a push-up pose, using Yasakawa’s face and abdomen as her balance points. She is pushing down on Act’s face the majority of this and eventually gets up, which then allows her to hit a heavy kick onto Yasakawa’s back as she attempts to stand up.
In a momentary change of pace, Yoshiko whips Yasakawa off the ropes and hits a heavy shoulder block/push which sends Yasakawa flying backwards to the floor. This happens a second time but while Yasakawa is grounded, Yoshiko stomps to the back of Act’s head 3 times, 2 which connected, one which was avoided by Act in a last-ditch effort.
Yoshiko then picks up Yasakawa, driving her face into the turnbuckle pad. Act turns around but is met quickly by Yoshiko who grabs her hair and throws her into the opposite corner, following up the more strikes to the head and then applying a guillotine choke. Yoshiko tries to drag the flailing Act into the centre of the ring but Yasakawa grabs the rope and then wraps her foot around the bottom rope, forcing the referee to start a 5 count for a break.
As Yoshiko walks back to the centre of the ring, the referee seems to motion towards Act to see if she is able to continue. Yasakawa nods and tried to regain some composure before returning to the centre of the ring herself. She circles Yoshiko before swinging out at her, which Yoshiko anticipates and throws a few strikes before again getting Act onto the ground by her hair. While on the ground, Yoshiko mounts her back and begins closed fist punching to Act’s face and head again. Act spins onto her front and with Yoshiko sitting atop of her, the referee calls for another break. While getting up, Yoshiko stands her full body weight onto Yasakawa’s stomach. As she moves away, Yasakawa rolls out of the ring where she is immediately met by Kris Wolf and other ringside wrestlers.
Yasakawa’s face is heavily swollen and visible, evident from the closed fist punches and palm strikes by Yoshiko. The referee begins a count but is called to check on Act and see that she is unfit to continue the match. The Referee re-enters the ring but at this point has not drawn a conclusion to the match. Yasakawa tried to climb back into the ring to maintain her dignity but is stopped by the other ringside players and as Yasakawa screams towards Yoshiko, a towel is thrown in to signify that the fight is over. The referee refers to the bell keeper and the bell rings around the arena.
With Yasakawa still screaming at ringside angrily, Kyoko Kimura lauched herself at Yoshiko before being dragged away from her by other present players. Yasakawa was taken away to hospital where they diagnosed fractured cheek nasal and orbital bones which required surgery, with doctors being very concerned with the damage to her eyes due to her surgery the previous year.
3 days later, a press conference was held where the World of Stardom championship was vacated, and Yoshiko was suspended indefinitely. The founders took a 30% pay cut for several months and Nanae ended up leaving the company as tensions between the foundrs over the incident continued.
Although Yoshiko apologised for the incident, many questioned her motives as 3 months later she decided to retire. During the customary 10 bell salute of a retiring player, she turned her back and walked out of the ceremony.
Though the reason for the fight is still contested and speculated, the fact this this match was given the name Seisan Matchi (Ghastly Match) shows how difficult it is to watch.
Act Yasakawa retired from In-ring competition on December 23rd, 2015 as a result of her injuries but continues to work with Stardom, most recently as a manager for the Oedo Tai stable.
Yoshiko had a 5-year exodus from Stardom, working with Nanae’s company Seadlinnng since its inception in 2016. She also tried her hand at MMA with Korean company Road FC. In March 3rd, 2021 both she and Nanae returned to Stardom competing at their 10th year anniversary show, All Star Dream Cinderella. Nanae fought against Momo Watanabe coming out with a victory and Yoshiko took on Mayu Iwatani in a losing effort.
I have put a link below so you can watch the match at your discretion.

Rebellion preview
Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega - Swann is the Impact Wrestling men's world champion, and Omega is the AEW men's world champion. Both prizes are on the line; it will be champion versus champion, title for title. This isn't the first time top champions from different promotions have squared off, but it usually only happens at a minor-league level, or when one group is in the process of absorbing the other. Truly interpromotional champion vs. champion battles at this level are rare, and even rarer when both titles are defended. So even though it's "just" Impact, and even though AEW has only been around for "just" a couple of years, it's still fairly special.
Omega also holds the AAA mega championship, but it looks as though that title is not at stake. Last month Swann unified the Impact title with Moose's unofficial TNA world title, but he's still carrying around both belts, so I'm not really sure if they're both on the line here. So technically this isn't winner take all. Maybe we can call it winner take most?
This match has been brewing since December, when Impact executive Don Callis made a guest appearance on AEW Dynamite, and helped AEW executive Omega win the AEW title. Since then, Callis and Omega have been throwing their weight around in both promotions. Swann took offense at the idea that Omega is the "real" world champion, and Omega expressed an interest in collecting more top championships. After Omega pinned Swann to win a six-man tag team match in January, it became clear that they had to meet one-on-one and put it all mostly on the line.
Omega is clearly the heavy favorite to win. They've all but said that in the storyline, with Callis trying to get in Swann's head about how he really has no chance. The minute Callis said he was bringing Kenny to Impact, everyone started fantasy booking past "Omega beats Swann" all the way up to "Omega invades New Japan to collect more belts." It's going to be tricky to lay this match out in a way that doesn't make Swann look like a second-rate chump. But Kenny is the guy who took a lot of guff from people who thought he made Allan Angels look too good in a squash match last year. If he can manage that, I'm pretty sure he can and will protect Swann.
The bigger question is what happens after Impact puts their world title on an AEW guy. Impact will have a outsider as their champion, who only wrestles for them on special occasions, and they can't plan a date for him to lose the title without clearing it with Tony Khan. For a company the size of Impact, that's a small price to pay to have the prestige of Omega carrying their richest prize. But it's risky business not having an endgame planned out, and I doubt their fanbase will have an appetite for Kenny Omega playing Brock Lesnar with Impact's top guys. But that issue will have to play out later; for now we just get to wait and see if the inevitable really happens.
Juice Robinson & David Finlay vs. Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson - FinJuice suddenly showed up in Impact a couple of months ago and won the Impact men's tag title from the Good Brothers. Then they took the belts back to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and now they're back to give the former champs a rematch.
The story of the feud is that Robinson and Finlay were "young boys" back when Gallows and Anderson were the top team in New Japan, but now the tables have turned. What's more interesting, though, is the metanarrative: If NJPW is sending FinJuice to fight the Good Brothers in Impact, and AEW is sending Kenny Omega to team with the Good Brothers in Impact, then sooner or later NJPW and AEW will end up directly working together for the real fantasy matchups. If FinJuice retain here it strengthens the idea that the NJPW/Impact relationship isn't a one-off; if they drop the belts then it could go either way. That's kind of more compelling than anything about the match itself.
I'm a fan of Juice, so I'm always up for seeing him getting to win big matches and capturing championships. But seeing FinJuice in New Japan with the Impact tag belts felt a little hollow, because I know they're only doing that because they're not figured into major programs in New Japan. So I'm not sure where I want to see them end up after this. For now, though, I'll be rooting for them to keep frustrating the Good Brothers.
Deonna Purazzo vs. Tenille Dashwood - Dashwood improbably won a six-way hardcore match to earn the right to challenge Purazzo for the Impact women's championship. It's a little weird booking a heel vs. heel match, but Purazzo has kinda cleaned out the division so there aren't a lot of better options. No offense to these two, but this is basically a one-match show no matter what they put on the undercard, so if they have something better in mind it makes sense to save it for, say, Slammiversary.
I always felt like Dashwood was undervalued by WWE and never got a strong run anywhere else to prove her worth. So it'd be neat if they put her over now, but her current character is so two-dimensionally vapid that it's hard to take her seriously. Purazzo's gimmick is that she's really fucking good at wrestling, and Dashwood's gimmick is that she's only really interested in her Instagram or whatever. So on paper Purazzo has to clobber this chump; if she gets bamboozled by a distraction from Kaleb with a K then she looks like a giant idiot, and Tenille is just the chump who beat a giant idiot.
Now, if they want to have Dashwood turn it up a notch and remember it says "marquee" on the wrestling, then great. But I'm not expecting them to do that. Deonna should retain.
Ace Austin vs. TJP vs. Josh Alexander - This is a three-way match for Austin's X division title, so the first man to score a fall over either opponent wins the match and the championship.
I think this match is a three-way because Austin won the title in some other three-way. They do three-ways for this title a lot. I mean, I'm grateful they finally quit doing Rohit Raju vs. TJP vs. Chris Bey, so that's something. But I'm pretty sure the last time I wrote about an X title match on an Impact PPV I just bitched about why multi-man matches suck and don't settle anything. I bet I said that the winner will just end up feuding with the guy who wasn't pinned, and then a third guy will interject himself to set up another multi-man that doesn't settle anything. I wish Kenny Omega would collect this belt and put it out of its misery.
Matt Cardona vs. Brian Myers - Cardona and Myers came up through WWE together as the Major Brothers and later as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. They were both cut from WWE a year ago, and Myers quickly signed with Impact while Cardona had a cup of coffee with AEW. It seemed like they had gone their separate ways until Cardona turned up in Impact, which Myers resented. Now they're finally squaring off to settle their differences. But considering Myers is playing a conniving heel that tries to weasel out of stuff, I get the feeling he won't give Cardona the chance to settle anything in the ring. This match feels it'll either end in a disqualification or a fuck finish.
Sami Callihan vs. Trey Miguel - This is billed as a "last man standing" match, so if a wrestler is on the ground and fails to get up to answer the referee's ten-count, his opponent is the last man standing and the winner. Other than that rule, anything goes.
Miguel had spent a few years in Impact as part of the Rascals with Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz, but then all three got a big sendoff back in November. Dez and Wentz signed with WWE and have since captured the NXT tag team titles as Wes Lee and Nash Carter. Trey unexpectedly returned to Impact in January, and Callihan has been giving him shit about being alone. Callihan keeps trying to provoke and manipulate Miguel into becoming Sami's protege. So it's kind of a thing where Trey has to either pull out all the stops to get a big win over a top guy, or fight so savagely that he turns to the dark side and accepts Sami as a mentor.
This may sound weird, but Callihan almost seems like Impact's equivalent to Bray Wyatt in WWE. Not, like, in terms of magic powers or whatever (although he does seem to teleport now and then). What I mean is every Sami Callihan storyline is kind of overwritten with all these layers of character development and intrigue about how Sami is trying to make the babyface recognize some subtle point. It's all so psychological, but then it just boils down to a vicious brawl, and Sami usually loses, so it kind of doesn't matter. Then they do it all over again and act like it's so deep, as if we hadn't seen him do it eight times already.
I think Trey should probably win if they're going to do anything with him. But on the other hand I think Sami needs a win at this point. But if Sami beats Trey I'm a tag concerned that Trey will become his crustpunk disciple or something, which is a little too close to what Eric Young is already doing.
Eric Young & Rhino & Cody Deaner & Joe Doering vs. Eddie Edwards & Willie Mack & Chris Sabin & James Storm - Young's team is Violent By Design. The group started feuding with Sabin and Storm a few weeks ago. (Storm became Sabin's regular tag team partner when Alex Shelley decided to sit out until he can be vaccinated, for the good of his physical therapy patients.) I don't really remember how Edwards and Mack got pulled into this, but it was inevitable as VBD is one of those groups that all the babyfaces are going to end up feuding with.
I read that Young tore his ACL during the last set of TV taping, and he worked through it in a number of matches. I don't know if this is one of them, because I don't know if this show is live or if it was taped weeks ago. Either way, it's possible Young just won't do anything during the match. Or they'll do an angle to write him out immediately before or immediately after the match. I'm not sure what happens to VBD while he's sidelined. But in the moment, I think they're the favorites to win this match.
Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz vs. Jordynne Grace & ??? - Hogan and Steelz (Fire & Flava) are defending the Impact women's tag team title. Grace earned this shot when she and her partner Jazz defeated the champs in a non-title match. However, Jazz had recently put her career on the line in a match she lost, so to honor the stipulation she declined to participate. So Grace gets a different partner for this match, who probably won't be identified until right before the bell rings.
Impact has been hyping the return of Taylor Wilde, but somehow I don't feel like she'd fit in this spot. If I remember right, Jazz said she had someone in mind for Grace's partner, and it's hard to imagine either of them deciding Wilde is a good fit with their team. ODB would make more sense, except she already came in to team with Jazz and Grace, so it'd be anticlimactic to just go there again. I think it's highly unlikely that anyone WWE let go on April 15 would be available for this show, so don't get your hopes up for Mickie James or Chelsea Green.
Usually you would expect the team with a mystery partner to blindside the other team for a big win to hype up said mystery partner. But it's possible they could do a swerve--the mystery woman could turn on Grace, for example. Without any idea who Grace's partner will be, I'd personally rather see Fire & Flava keep the belts. So if there is going to be a title change, I really hope they have somebody who can win me over.

WWE King & Queen of the Ring (2024) - REVIEW
Tumblr media
I first got into wrestling after watching the 1996 King of the Ring which was famously won by Stone Cold Steve Austin and the event became a firm favourite of mine thereafter. Part of the excitement was that you never quite knew who was going to win and then pushed to the next big star. With a couple of exceptions between 1993 and 2002 (Mabel, Ken Shamrock, Billy Gunn), most winners of the King of the Ring went on to much bigger things but the event itself fell out of favour post-2002 and was only brought back occasionally but it never really seemed to mean anything. The 2024 King & Queen of the Ring tournament by contrast for me has been a great success in part because it seems to have been given a new leash on life by creative. OK yeah there were a few stars who pulled out due to injuries or other reasons, but it's hard to argue that this years King and Queen of the Ring doesn't mean anything especially with the added twist of a world title shot awarded to the winners. The respective final match of the tournament may lack storyline heat between the competitors but the stakes of the tournament more than make up for it. WWE has had a great year so far with its PLE's and this one is no different.
Tumblr media
Women's World Heavyweight Championship Match - Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan
A minor feud that felt hastily put together following the injury to Rhea Ripley that none the less delivered a solid match with some significant story implications due to the involvement of one Dominik Mysterio. The match itself wasn't a classic but it certainly showcased just how far Liv Morgan has come as a competitor from her days as member of the Riott Squad to now being World Champion. Perhaps the most memorable element to the match was it's ending with Dominik Mysterio representing the off-screen Ripley while accidentally (or not?) costing Becky Lynch the match and title. It definitely felt the right call as Lynch didn't particularly need another lengthy title reign whereas it certainly felt the right choice to put the title on Liv Morgan and spice up her feud with Rhea Ripley at the same time. A good start to the show for me.

Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship - Sami Zayne (c) vs. Chad Gable vs. Big Bronson Reed
This is by and large the biggest and longest running feud on this card that has been brewing since WrestleMania and involving stars who had been hovering around the Intercontinental title since the Gunther run. This match was incredible and was boosted by the Saudi crowd reaction to Sami Zayne who probably got one of the biggest pops of the night. It's also reassuring to see that the work Gunther put in to raise the profile of the IC title seems to be continuing and it felt right for Chad Gable and Bronson Reed to still be in the mix and adding variety to a rather small card. This had everything you'd want from a good triple threat match with high spots, plenty of near falls and the drama between Gable and Otis at ringside helped to add a little bit more to this match. Outstanding.

Queen of the Ring Finals Match - Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax
The coldest match on the card that also wasn't helped by a lack of crowd reaction which is a shame because this was a showcase for a newer star with great potential and a veteran who is probably on her best run in WWE. Lyra Valkyria had a great entrance, look and put in a good effort in a David vs. Goliath style match where Nia Jax utilized her size and style to great effect. The finish in particular was very impressive and the result felt right with Jax finally getting some much needed and deserved recognition. An interesting clash between Bayley and Nia Jax at SummerSlam awaits.

King of the Ring Finals Match - Randy Orton vs. Gunther
This was the polar opposite of the Queen of the Ring Finals match; a clash between two heavy weights in WWE who had never met before and with very different styles. That there was no real story between them going in felt irrelevant as their respective reputations alone made this a mouth watering prospect and it certainly didn't disappoint. This was an old school wrestling match with a deliberate pace, great selling (particularly from Orton) and a crowd that was into it at the start. It's a shame that the final pin by Gunther seemed to be botched with Randy Orton's shoulder not down on the mat but it doesn't take away that this was an incredible match with the right result.

WWE Undisputed Championship - Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul
Coming off of a stunning finale at WrestleMania 40, it is fair to say that the one thing Cody Rhodes has perhaps been lacking is a compelling story since becoming champion. Sure there's the much teased feud with the Rock to look forward to but right now from a storytelling point of view, we're in a more episodic stage. On the plus side, the Backlash match with AJ Styles was outstanding and the match here, though not as good as the Backlash match, is still a very good main event. Rhodes and Logan Paul make for a good pairing with Paul in particular making for a natural heel against Rhode's babyface. It feels repetitive to say how impressive Logan Paul's in ring ability is given his experience, but he again puts in an impressive performance with Cody Rhodes in a compelling match that was otherwise predictable in its outcome.

Could someone explain the appeal of wrestling?? Not that I think it’s bad, I’m just confused how it’s just the most popular thing lately?! I can understand other sports but how is WWE so huge?? I’m so, confused? How would you describe it?
Well, I can’t really answer “How is WWE so huge?” because it’s been like seven?  Ten?  Years since I’ve watched WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).
But I’ll glad to geek out about Wrestling!!!!!
Okay, so a little disclaimer here.  One, I am not in shape, way, or form, what someone will call a professional. I am a fan.  Also, this is just my opinion on this subject matter.  I’m a huge fan of wrestling going all the way back when I first started watching in ‘95!  And finally, I am not sponsored by any of these companies.  Ghoul, I wish!!!!
Alright so with that outta the way.  Let’s begin!!!!
Wrestling in itself is a very old and traditional sport going all back to the early eighteenth century.  Where wrestling in the Traveling Circus/Carnivals were very big and popular.  Now, during those days, they would have a very big and strong guy, usually around the 6 feet to (I think but don’t quote me on this) six foot six inches tall.  Now, back then that was extremely tall and big for man!!!!  Now, days the average height for a guy is around the five feet ten inches to six feet range.  During that time period, wrestling was a “Side Show.”  A way to draw in the big crowds by having their “Champion” take on any takers and see if they could defeat him or last I think it was five minutes in the ring with him.  If that won, they would win the big money.  I think it was a hundred dollars which would be around a thousand or so today.
Over the decades wrestling became more of a profession for a lot of people.  The 1940′s and 1950′s had so many legends during their days!  Some of the most famous ones are the Fabulous Moolah.  Moolah still to this day holds the World Record of the longest-reigning of the Women’s Championship.  1956 (when she first won it) - 1984 (when she lost it).  We also were introduced to Mae Young!  Another incredible wrestler then turned trainer for many young aspiring girls.  For the male side, we had Gorgeous George.  This man literally made the promoters of the 1940′s & 1950′s money!!!!  Buddy Rogers, one of the famous NWA Heavy Weight Champions and trainers there was.
Now, before Vincent McMahon Jr. came into the picture when he took over his father’s company in the 1960′s.  WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation), NWA (National Wrestling Association before was known as the National Wrestling Alliance), AWA (American Wrestling Association), ECWA (Eastern Championship Wrestling Association) and many others were known as Territory Promotions.  Meaning in many states you were only allowed to broadcast or work in that company and defend their Championship.
So, I don’t want to bore you with all these cool and fascinating details about all these companies and how some of them are still around and others faded out.  So, let’s fast-forward here.  Vincent Kennedy McMahon Jr. took over his father’s company and along the way literally re-institutionalized and re-visioned professional wrestling!  Now, we go to the 1980′s!
The 1980′s-1990′s we had quite a war!!!   WWF was literally the very first company to ever invent the term and the way to use it of pay-per-view!  And did their very first ever pay-per-view live!  WRESTLEMANIA!!!  I’m sure you know a lot of the wrestlers from that Era such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Jesse “the Body” Ventura, Ric Flair, The Four Horseman, Srg. Slaughter, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Sting, “The Brain” Bobby Heenan, Andre the Giant, “Classy” Freddie Blassie, The Ultimate Warrior, and many others.   But there was also another huge wrestling company that was also making its waves into the sport.
WCW (World Championship Wrestling).  This one you had many different wrestlers but the big thing that many people remember of WCW was the fans all-time favorite wrestler Hulk Hogan made a huge decision and it made headlines.  He left WWF and went to WCW (WWF’s competition).  When that happened many people started to tune in and watch.  Then Ric Flair also came by and the Four Horseman reunited.  Sting made his presence known and still many people remember his “Crow” face-paint and his vigilantly like style.
But the big thing that a lot of fans remember is when the “Face of the Company” the “Fans Hero” the “Face/Hero” turned on all the fans and joined the enemies!  Alright so let me fully explained this!  When Hulk Hogan left to join WCW two other wrestlers from WWF decided to give WCW a chance: Kevin Nash (aka Diesel) and Scot Hall (aka Razor Ramon).  When they jumped they truly made an impact (pun intended)!  When Nash and Hall came to WCW they were literally invading.  Crashing the broadcast booth, mocking the commentators “So, this is where the big boys play huh?  Well, we challenge any of the WCW guys to the two of us and our mystery partner”
Everyone including me was scrambling to figure out who the mystery partner was.  Every kind of theories was going around from another wrestler jumping ship to someone from WCW who was going to help Hall and Nash.  The big moment came at Bash at the Beach.  Hall and Nash cleaned house and Hogan came down the ramp and everyone including the announcers and commentators were cheering with fans upon seeing Hogan!  (I admit I was secretly bouncing in my seat).  But then, we all bared witness to the shock of all shock!  Hogan turned on WCW and joined Hall and Nash!  Forming the NWO (the New World Order) taking one anyone and everyone, taking over and seeking to bring down WCW.  This was a really good story-line and it was one the biggest swerve and one of the biggest story-lines that worked so well!
Now, I’m sure you saw me mention another wrestling company earlier in this post and might or might not have sounded familiar.  ECWA (Eastern Championship Wrestling Association) now, this company is still around.  It’s pretty big in the Indie Circuit (Independent Wrestling Promotions Circuit).  But in the 1990′s it was also known by another name thanks to the “Evil Genius” Paul E. Hayman.  ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling).  This was the first time that “Hardcore Wrestling” came about in the United States that was televised!  For the first time ever blood was actually seen on television!!!  Now, ECW was more than just the hardcore aspect and the blood.  It was all about giving the best show with very little money and minimal equipment.  Think, developing a fan-made movie and then post it on YouTube.
They didn’t have the money for lights, pyro, and all that jazz.  But what they did have was high-quality talent in wrestlers, best interviews, great promos that didn’t need a lot of effects.  Many of the fans really enjoy ECW and yes, the 2200 Arena is known as the ECW Arena.  That’s why when many companies perform out of there and they may have an ECW alumni wrestler, the fans will chant “ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW!”  ECW literally helped reshape wrestling today.
Okay, so that’s the history there.  As for why wrestling is so popular.  It’s basically a life story coming to life.  You have the faces (heroes) that the fans truly love to cheer for.  They’re the ones that you want to rally behind and believe in and are the face of the company in a way.  Then you have the Anti-Heroes.  They’re the ones that basically do what they want to do.  They’ll follow the rules if they wan too and at the same time they have no problem in breaking every single rule in the book!
Then you have the heels (the villains).  They’re the ones that break every single rule in the book known to man.  They don’t care about being liked.  They don’t care how they’re seen or portrayed.  They don’t care about lying, cheating and stealing they’re way to victory so long as they’re the ones on top!  Now, I’m not going to lie.  Sometimes, the villains are actually cheered when they’re not supposed to be.  Some examples are, Tripple H, The Undertaker, Kane, Abyss, The Main Event Mafia, LAX (Latin American Exchange) The Elite, Bullet Club, The Broke Hardy (although they were more the anti-heroes then villains), you get the idea.
Many, companies today like ROH, AAA, MLCW, New Japan, AEW, MCW, literally have sports of wrestling.  Where you get to see the pathetic abilities and the “Mic Skills” during promos and interviews and a combination of story-line to give the fans and viewers the best show there is.
Hope this helps.  And sorry for the long post.  If you can’t tell.  I’m a huge wrestling fan!

different sides (dean/seth) - angst, pining (ao3 link)
So, Seth's officially lost his fucking mind, is the first thing he thinks when he finally gets a signal again and notifications start flooding in.
He scrolls through them, skimming quotes and questions, trying to piece together the full story. Did you see this? Did you know about this? Links to articles with headlines like: Seth Rollins Fires Back At Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins Defends WWE.
There's nothing from Seth himself. No messages. No missed calls. It almost feels like an ambush.
There's only one text from Roman which just says, Please come get your boy.
He clicks on a link and gets taken to the podcast. Clicks play. He's only listened to about ten minutes when he stops, hits pause. He sets his phone down on the kitchen table for a second, just breathing, processing. Then he picks it back up, and calls Seth.
He doesn't know if he expects him to pick up or not. Maybe he's busy. Or maybe he's deliberately avoiding this exact conversation. To his credit, he picks up after a couple rings.
"Hey, man," he says, and his voice is muffled and stranger than usual.
"Can we talk? Are you busy?" Dean asks, clipped.
"No, no, it's fine." He sounds resigned now.
"Okay. So apparently we're the biggest fucking story in all of pro-wrestling and I had no idea. Crazy, huh? Congrats, man. We should throw a party. Invite all the indie dudes you also took a massive shit on."
Seth lets out a heavy sigh on the other end. "I didn't want you to find out like this."
"Well, I was in the middle of the fucking desert minding my own business and then I come back to civilisation after being gone all day to this. What am I supposed to think?" he asks incredulously.
"I just — I don't know," Seth says, sounding frantic. "It's not a big deal. Everyone's making it into a big deal, but it's not —"
"Did you try to call me? Why didn't you tell me before?" Dean asks, genuinely confused. He's talked to Seth a couple times in the last few months. He always sounds good, sounds happy for him, but he's been sounding different too lately — lonelier, almost, like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. And that interview — that didn't sound anything like his Seth. It sounded like someone else, a stranger, someone selfish and vindictive and terrible. Someone he was glad to leave in the past. And he thought Seth was too.
"I'm sorry," Seth breathes. "It just kind of happened. And it sounded way worse than I meant it. But now it's out there, and people are gonna think what they want."
"I don't fucking care what people think, Seth," he says bluntly. "What the hell did you mean by it?"
"Nothing, okay?" he bursts out. "I didn't mean anything. I just — Everything's fucking shit right now. And you're not here. And I thought I was okay with that. But maybe I'm not. And you didn't even fucking tell me — I had to find out when you just showed up out of the crowd, like everyone else, like a fucking idiot."
"We've talked about this. You said you were fine with it." He regrets not telling him sometimes, but he'd thought it would be better this way. Telling him would feel like too much of a betrayal, and there was too much betrayal between them already. He had to do what he needed to, for himself. If Seth was hurt, then he'd get over it with time.
"Maybe I'm not. Maybe all of this is too much," he says, voice starting to crack.
"What?"
"I don't know. The fans threatening to riot. The fucking company falling apart on my watch. Us." He sounds exhausted, defeated.
"Seth —"
"No, I just, I'm sorry. That was shitty and I should've told you it was coming out before. And I didn't mean it. I was just fucking frustrated and angry at everything." He takes a deep breath.
"Seth, we need to talk," Dean tells him firmly. "For real. Not like this." He squeezes the phone in his hand hard for emphasis. He wishes he could strangle the life out of it or smash it to pieces with his bare hands right now. Dean really fucking hates smartphones. And the internet. And people. Today more than usual.
"Okay," Seth agrees after a second. "I'll see you in a couple days."
*
He picks him up at the airport and Seth doesn't say anything in the car the whole drive back.
He lets him in the kitchen door. Seth drops his bags on the floor and paces around for a second, like he's collecting himself, before he leans back against the counter. He turns his head to look out the window contemplatively, biting his lip, before glancing back at Dean.
Dean finally turns to face him, folding his arms over his chest.
"Are you okay?" Dean asks him, quietly, seriously.
Seth laughs softly, bitterly. "Are you and the internet worried about my mental health?" he asks mockingly.
"I don't know. Should I be?" Dean says evenly.
Seth gets a weird, distant look in his eyes, taking a moment before speaking again. "You ever just want something so bad, and then you get it, and it's not what you thought it would be?"
"It's not your fault, Seth," Dean tells him honestly. "The ratings. The empty seats. The fucking keyboard warriors. This shit just happens sometimes. It's the business."
Seth shakes his head. "Yeah, it's not my fault," he repeats, almost to himself. And then he raises his eyes up to meet Dean's gaze head-on, swallowing hard. "But maybe it's yours."
Dean's eyes widen in surprise. "Seth, I —"
"I know," Seth cuts him off. "I know. You didn't mean for any of this to happen. But you didn't make it any better. Everyone thinks it's fine to just trash everything we do now. We can't get a break. It's like you opened up the floodgates."
"I didn't lie about anything. I said how I felt. I wasn't happy. I left. It has nothing to do with you or anyone else," he tells him gently.
"You're not the only one leaving, though." This is Seth's dream, always has been, to be the guy in WWE. And now he's finally champion and the ratings are plummeting and it's like he's the captain of a sinking ship and everyone's bailing out, leaving him trapped and alone, without a lifeline. Slowly descending to the bottom of the sea. Drowning with no one to see or hear.
"It's gonna be fine," Dean assures him. "It's rough right now, and maybe you're gonna lose people and lose fans, but the tide will turn again."
"Easy for you to say. You know you're the hottest thing in all of wrestling right now, right?" He doesn't sound bitter, just vaguely sad almost.
"Are you jealous?" Dean says, and it's supposed to be teasing, but maybe it hits a bit too close to home.
Seth just shakes his head, a rueful smile on his face.
"I didn't know. How unhappy you were. I think I was mad at myself for not realising sooner. And maybe it fucking hurts because I look at you now, in Japan or in a fucking high school gym, doing what you've always wanted, what you really love, and I think… He's never gonna be that happy with me."
"Seth —" Dean exhales shakily.
"I'm a fucking idiot. I thought it was one of those dumb, romantic cliches. If you love something, let it go, you know? But you're not gonna come back. So where does that leave us?"
Dean doesn't have an answer. He can't promise he's gonna come back. He can't promise anything. He's just looking at what's right in front of him now. There's no guarantees to anything. And there's something appealing about that. In facing the unknown and the unexpected with every single step. It's how he's always wanted to live, and he couldn't before, not with Seth and Roman, no matter how much he loves them. He had to carve his own path.
"Apparently, it leaves you trying to fight the world on twitter," Dean says weakly.
Seth laughs, then visibly cringes. "Yeah, it was a bit much, huh? I just didn't know what else to do. These last couple days, it's just felt like everything's crashing down around me. An onslaught. And it's not stopping. It's just one thing after another."
"You were feeling too much shit and you lashed out at the person you care about the most. Because you knew I'd love you anyway. Even at your worst. Can't say I don't know what that's like," Dean says with a shrug.
"I'm sorry," Seth says again. "I was a total fucking asshole. And you didn't deserve any of that."
Dean nods. "How about next time, you actually call me and talk to me about this shit before you try to start another fucking Monday Night War while I'm sleeping or something, okay?"
Seth gives him just a hint of a smile, but it's real, genuine, for the first time. "Okay, I will. I promise."
