One of my favorite shitty fight scenes is from this old movie featuring RVD and Batista from the WWE. It’s like the perfect mix of edgelord cringe because:
1) This 2000s-era edgy metal song is playing in the background. I keep thinking it’s either Rise Against, Slipknot, or Breaking Benjamin, even though it’s obviously not any of them.
2) The fight choreography is horrendous. At one point, Batista and the bad guy just start slapping at each other to make it seem like they’re doing kung fu. It literally looks like they’re patty-caking each other.
3) I think Batista stabbed the guy in the nipple lol
4) Batista has a gun and the other guy just has his fists. And Batista fucking throws his gun away because he wants a fair fight for some reason (MAN LOGIC).
5) Batista just bites the guy at some point lol
6) Somehow, the bad guy managed to take off Batista’s belt during the fight? I can’t tell how he does this because of how crappy the scene is edited.
Here’s the scene:

Top Five Horrible Movies Featuring Wrestlers
Top Five Horrible Movies Featuring Wrestlers
Brian Damage For every good to great movie featuring a professional wrestler, there have been some real clunkers as well. Last week, I took a look at some of my favorites starring a wrestler and this week, we look at a few flicks that were not as good…as a matter of fact, were pretty awful. Of course, these choices are my personal selections and are always up for debate. Which movies featuring…

If you want to get into pro-wrestling, one place I don’t recommend starting is the Wrestlemania 36 Firefly Fun House match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a fun watch, but that’s also a horrible place to start if you want to get an idea of what wrestling is like. What I mean is:
1) John Cena wakes up in some bizarre hellscape that is controlled by Bray Wyatt and doesn’t know how he got there
2) Bray Wyatt forces Cena to relive his past memories as some sort of existential torture or something
3) There are evil demonic puppets in the background, either in view or reacting to Cena and Wyatt
4) It’s not really a match, it’s more like an analog horror video. And I’m being dead serious about that.
5) It’s a wrestling match, but no one actually wrestles lol. Cena takes like two or three hits and gets knocked out at one point.
6) Cena says, “Deez nuts” but the scene is supposed to be scary
7) Cena swings a chair at Bray Wyatt, but then Bray uses his demon fiend powers to teleport himself out of the ring
8) On top of being a straight up horror movie, it’s also a nostalgia trip down the old eras of WWE/WWF
9) Cena starts punching at Bray, but then it turns out he was hallucinating the whole time and that the thing he was punching was a puppet. Then, Bray Wyatt shows up behind him wearing his Slipknot mask and then, like a fucking slasher horror movie, kills Cena. Okay, he just does his finishing move, it’s not like he stabs Cena in the stomach. But then Cena’s body DISAPPEARS. He got deleted from existence lol.

Not gonna lie, the more I learn about Cody Rhodes’ history (as someone who is more of a casual fan), the more I’m convinced that there’s a solid, award-winning biopic in the wings for him. I mean, his life story includes:
* being the son of a legendary wrestler and struggling to live up to his legacy, while also forging his own path
* wanting to become WWE champion because his father was never one. And his half-brother, Goldust, as well. Cody did it for the Rhodes family name.
* struggling to get over with the crowd, especially since he was being given subpar gimmicks. Examples: Stardust, being Randy Orton’s henchman, being the handsome guy before becoming the ugly guy. (Okay, I did like the Undashing Cody arc, but I am glad he’s done with it lol)
* left WWE to forge a new path in AEW, which ended in disappointment. Still, he never gave up on his dream.
* literally tore his pecs, but wrestled anyways
* returned to the WWE and became one of the biggest babyfaces in years.
The last act of the movie obviously has to be Wrestlemania 40. That section alone would make for a great story. Just imagine it; Cody is told he has to step aside because the Rock will be fighting Roman at WM40, and then learning about how much support he got from the fans and their demands that he be allowed to “finish the story”. I can just imagine the fan backlash/support to Cody as this montage sequence, with the film score just going crazy in the background.
(But now the question is…who should play Cody?)
