Booking King of the Ring for the years WWE didn't have it
Fantasy booking a King of the Ring winner every year WWE didn’t have King of the Ring.
2003: John Cena wins King of the Ring
In 2003, John Cena was finding his stride as a heel having a WWE Title match against Brock Lesnar and facing The Undertaker on PPV, he was becoming a big star. John Cena (Smackdown) would cheat to beat fan favorite Booker T (RAW) in the finals to become King of the Ring and the rap verses he could’ve cut about all of it would have made it even more better.
2004: Randy Orton (RAW) wins King of the Ring
Randy Orton was in the middle of a long IC Title reign and along with Evolution went over two legends at WrestleMania and was being groomed to be the youngest world champion in WWE history. John Cena now a babyface and US Champion on Smackdown would look to become a 2 time King of the Ring winner and repeat but he would make it to the finals and lose in a First Time Ever match to the WWE Intercontinental Champion and Evolution's Randy Orton from RAW.
2005: Christian wins King of the Ring
Now I know WWE wouldn’t have done this, I know they didn’t see Christian as anything more than a mid card guy but around this time he was white hot around this time and a King of the Ring win could propel him to the main event. Christian (RAW) would beat Chris Benoit (Smackdown) after interference from his problem solver Tomko and set up a WWE Title match against John Cena at Summerslam which Christian wins.
2007: Bobby Lashley wins King of the Ring
I would have gone with Mr. Kennedy but he got injured around this time and was later suspended, so why not go with Bobby Lashley on the condition that he turns heel because he proved in TNA he’s a very good heel. We’re in the finals with Lashley vs King Booker, last year's winner. Lashley is going in as a babyface and Booker as a heel but we have a double turn when Queen Sharmell turns on Booker helping Lashley win and aligning with him.
2009: The Miz wins King of the Ring
The Miz was starting to make his way into the upper mid card as the US Champion and a King of the Ring win in 2009 could’ve better prepared him for his eventual WWE Title win in late 2010. Miz would defeat ex tag team partner John Morrison in the finals.
2011: CM Punk wins King of the Ring
This event would replace Capital Punishment with Punk defeating Mysterio in the finals. This added momentum would make him even hotter after his pipebomb promo and his WWE Title win over John Cena at Money in the Bank, all that much better.
2012: Cody Rhodes wins King of the Ring
Cody Rhodes has just come off of a great Intercontinental Title reign but his moment halted because he dropped the belt to The Big Show of all people. Rhodes defeats Christian in the finals to regain his momentum back and hopefully face Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title.
2013: Dean Ambrose of The Shield wins King of the Ring
Dean Ambrose was US Champion and considered the leader of The Shield. He would go on to defeat Daniel Bryan in the finals with the help of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns getting a lot of heat since Bryan was white hot around this time.
2014: Cesaro wins King of the Ring
Again I know WWE wouldn’t have gone for this but this would’ve have been the right move since Cesaro was super over at the time. In my booking Cesaro has just won the Intercontinental Title and qualifies for King of the Ring. He would go on to defeat ex tag team partner Jack Swagger in the finals to win King of the Ring.
2016: AJ Styles wins King of the Ring
In 2016, Styles debuted in the WWE and had a great debut year and at this point was only a few months from winning his first WWE Championship. I would have AJ and Cena make it to the finals and have their very first one on one encounter and here is where I’d have AJ turn heel when The Club (Gallows & Anderson) interfere and costs Cena the match giving AJ the win.
2017: Braun Strowman wins King of the Ring
Braun was white hot as a monster heel around this time just wrecking anything and everything in his path. Braun would wreck Roman Reigns in the finals to win King of the Ring and go on to win the Universal Title from Brock Lesnar probably at No Mercy.
2018: Shinsuke Nakamura wins King of the Ring
In 2018, Nakamura won the Royal Rumble then faced AJ Styles for the WWE Championship and then turned heel on AJ after failing to win the title making his character more interesting but also killing his momentum because he lost all the time. Then he had a 5 month reign as US Champion which he only defended once on PPV. Nakamura would defeat Roman Reigns in the finals after a low blow and a Kinsasha. After the match, we have Corey Graves say Nakamura is not only the king of strong style but now has become the King of the Ring. Nakamura would go on to defeat Jeff Hardy for the US Title and hopefully have a much better run with it.
2020:Let's say Drew McIntyre. It was his time as the top guy and despite the pandemic era, I think McIntyre as king would've worked.
2022:Seth Rollins. Peak insufferable douchebag Seth Rollins as king would've been hillarious
2023:Solo Sikoa. It adds to building up Solo up as the enforcer and Roman's right hand and heir to the Bloodline.
Bonus round. Fantasy booking the Queen of The Ring from 2016-2023
2016::Charlotte Flair, there we get Charlotte as Queen of the ring out of the way. This is the obvious choice since they really began to push Charlotte hard at this point
2017:Sasha Banks. Feels right move, plus Queen Bo$$ has a nice ring to it
2018:Alexa Bliss. ALexa was in her peak Goddess era and Queen Alexa would've been over.
2019:Shayna Baszler. Shayna got called up and I feel like this would've been a consolation prize for not winning the title at Mania 36(FOR SOME FUCKING REASON)
2020:Bayley. The year that put Bayley on the map and during her longest reign, so Queen Bayley fits so much
2022:Becky Lynch. Big Time Becks as Queen would've worked. The fans hated her when she beat Bianca, boy would they hate her as the bitchy condescending Queen of the Ring.
2023:Rhea Ripley. Rhea was the hottest name in the company and Mami was on top. Queen Eradicator would've just been perfect.

What would you say are the best moments where punk is being a total bitch because punk being a little fucker makes me so happy you don’t even kno
Man, right now I can only really think of moments I’ve seen recently (there are just too many)...
1. Smackdown Aug. 14, 2009 when Teddy Long tells him his heelish actions (putting one of those lethal steel chairs around Jeff Hardy’s neck) could have ended Jeff Hardy’s career and he reacts like this:
Tumblr media
And in general he is giving:
Tumblr media
2. Smackdown Sep. 04, 2009, after he has defeated Jeff Hardy, forcing him to leave the WWE, and the next Smackdown comes in dressed up like him and gets the biggest pop because everyone is so happy to see Jeff. Seeing the smiles drop off the faces when people realize they got pranked is priceless.
Tumblr media
3. Smackdown Oct. 23, 2009 in the bit where he is scheming behind the scenes to get Scott Armstrong to do a screwjob for him (”Dude, no one cares about your family’s reputation. Listen to how selfish you are, this isn’t about you, okay? This is about me.”) And then gets daddy Vince to argue his cause. He hardly even says anything but his face...
Tumblr media
4. Smackdown Oct. 30, 2009 when he fucking squashes Scott Armstrong.
Tumblr media
5. This entire video (people person Punk)
Tumblr media
6. Raw Aug. 29, 2011. That bit where crawls around on the floor pretending to vomit in front of Hunter and Kevin Nash and just is generally asking for a spanking from a man three times his height.
Tumblr media
7. Raw Dec. 09, 2013, the slammy awards. Just watch him in the background at the end of the episode (ascension ceremony). I think everyone has seen his reaction to Stephanie calling Hunter the pinnacle of WWE champions, but the whole bit is a ride. He also keeps fucking with the ref in front of him and talking to everyone around him. Class clown behaviour.
Tumblr media
8. That bit from the first Samoa Joe vs Punk match where Joe walks up to a Punk fan and makes fun of him and then Punk goes over to the same fan and you won’t believe what happens next!

the Wrestler: Volume 25, 2009
POINT:
A TV-PG RATING IS WWE’S BEST CHANCE FOR GROWTH
BY MICHAEL MOORE
THREE LETTERS BEST justify Vince McMahon’s decision to make his product more family-friendly: UFC.
Mixed Martial arts promotions today are what WWF, WCW, and professional wrestling in general were 10 years ago. The same crowd that identified with “Stone-Cold” Steve Austin’s anti-authoritarianism a decade ago is now more interested in seeing if an opponent can make it past the second round with Anderson Silva.
The testosterone-driven 18- to 35-year-old male demographic craves blood and violence, and these days they’re going to find more of the real thing inside an octagon, not an Elimination Chamber.
WWE has a very loyal wrestling fan base, however, which is proven by Raw’s weekly 3.0-plus TV rating. But McMahon craves more. He wants to convince casual viewers that WWE is more than a wrestling troupe … and he just might do it, thanks to the new rating.
[The feud between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho has featured injuries and blood, but Contributing Writer Michael Moore says that, one balance, solid, competitive wrestling has carried the feud. As WWE moves to a TV-PGH rating, Moore feels deemphasizing crass content will serve WWE well.]
During the peak of the Monday Night Wars, Raw alone was popping ratings above 6.0. Add WCW Monday’s Nitro’s gaudy numbers and professional wrestling was approaching a 12.0 rating on a weekly basis. That means at one point, approximately four times as many fans were watching wrestling on Monday nights then than are watching now.
Where did the fans go? More importantly, how can wrestling get them back? Late-1990s type of success may not be a reality today, but there are far more potential wrestling fans out there. Sure, McMahon isn’t going to keep them away from UFC, but he can prove to the parents of young fans that Raw, Smackdown, and live WWE events are fun for the whole family.
Here’s why he can and will do it. The PG rating forces WWE’s creative team to be more, well, creative. They won’t be able to fall back on shock tactics like HLA or Edge and Lita’s live sex shows. THey’re going to have to find a way to attract viewers without resorting to Springer-esque tactics.
Recent programming shows it can be done. For example: The Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho feud has been a highlight of WWE over the past several months. Why? Because, excluding one pay-per-view, there hasn’t been any bloodbaths, attempts at toilet humor, or half-naked women to distract from it. True, the feud has included Jericho slamming Michaels through a TV screen and decking his wife, but those were the only deviations from what has been a rather conservative program.
WWE’s switch to a PH-rated product won’t be a smooth one, and it won’t happen overnight. Fans that were turned off by Mae Young giving birth to a hand or Vince McMahon’s “fatal” limousine explosion last year may be difficult to win back.
But WWE’s best chance to succeed is to finally move away from the Attitude Era and toward a more traditional, family-friendly product again. Today’s core demographic may be inclined toward MMA, but there are plenty of other fans waiting to be seduced.
Michael Moore is a contributing writer for THE WRESTLER.
COUNTERPOINT:
PRO WRESTLING IS NOT A TV-PG SPORT
BY BRADY HICKS
THE LAST TIME Vince McMahon was selling a PG product, wrestling fans were subjected to Doink the Clown, T.L. Hopper, and The Goon. Do we really want to return to those days?
Wrestling, by its very nature, is not a PG-rated sport. In fact, wrestling is at its best when two competitors are entangled in a bitter, violent feud. The idea of two grown men like Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels trying to settle their dispute on a family-friendly show just doesn’t work. Imagine how flat this feud would have been if Rawviewers were unable to see the gruesome eye injury Y2J inflicted on Michaels at The Great American Bash.
Pro wrestling had its PG period in the 1980s. In the midst of the Cold War, fans wanted an all-American hero to stand up to the bad guys. For a generation that grew up on Luke Skywalker, He-Man, and G.I. Joe, a flesh and blood superhero was the order of the day.
But times have changed. Society is different from what it was when Hulkamania was born. Wrestling fans just won't accept a goody two-shoes that tells them to train, say their prayers, and take their vitamins.
Besides that, wrestling fans are much more in tune with real life. They realize that nobody is as squeaky clean as Hulk Hogan and the Von Erichs pretended to be.
That isn’t to say the extreme violence and smut–edgy content, some might call it–that infiltrated our great sport should be the norm. But we should never forget that the excesses of the Attitude Era generated some much-needed fan interest at a critical time.
Putting the T&A aside, professional wrestling is still a fundamentally violent sport, and the TV-14 rating WWE abandoned was much more appropriate for shows like Raw and Smackdown. The designation allowed the sport to be itself for better or worse, and freed WWE from the shackles of the network suits.
Asking the NFL or professional boxing to tone down their style of play would be ludicrous. So why then. Would McMahon want to change WWE’s formula for success–a formula that has succeeded with sex and violence as its driving forces.
Lingerie matches, for example, may not evoke memories of Gotch vs. Hackenschmidt, but let’s face it: Few viewers change the channel when the Divas start shedding their clothes. Nor do you hear the fans in attendance booing when these matches take place.
In deviating from the proven formula, McMahon runs the risk of sabotaging his own product. As all wrestling fans know, his idea of PG is much different from that of most parents and TV execs.
By switching the rating, McMahon is telling parents it’s okay to sit down with their kids for one of his shows, yet in the first few weeks after the switch to PG, Raw alone included Jerry Lawler talking about how far Katie Lea will go on the first date, old clips of Chris Jericho mocking Stephanie McMahon’s breast implants, and Kane and Batista attempting to bash each oth3r’s skills in with a steel chair.
It should also be noted that McMahon is drawn to controversy. It’s only a matter of time before the next incest, necrophilia, or attempted murder angle is played out. If McMahon leads parents to believe his product is appropriate for families, and presents something that isn’t he runs the risk of listing many more fans that he will attract.
[Thanks to WWE’s new TV-PG rating, the “Rated R Superstar” may be forced to tone down his act. Contributing Writer Brady Hicks says that abandoning the edgy material that has kept WWE relevant for so many years will make the task all the harder.]
WWE is trying to save a ship that isn’t sinking. By lowering its rating, WWE hopes to lure fans under false pretenses–something that, in the end, is only going to hurt the business as a whole. It’s time for McMahon to embrace what he’s known all along: Professional wrestling just isn’t a PG-rated sport.
Brady Hicks is a contributing writer for THE WRESTLER.

Please read the description it is important. Now this video is meant to be a bit of a test video to see how things looked and worked during game play. Now if you'll notice I do look a bit different there is a few reasons for that. firstly I was having problems with my face texture since 2K18 and I tried to kinda fix it and I guess "future proof" it so I can use it with out have to change it for each game. I think its because the eyebrows are too low and the nose just doesn't look right so hopefully it will be fixed for the 2K23 videos Secondly you notice a darker skin tone I have also been having skin tone issues for years! I have been trying to get it to the right color but the game doesn't seem to want to I think it has alot to do with the lighting in the game. You see I have a more darker skin tone due to my parents being of different races. So I always try to get that perfect bronzy color and in 2K22 I thought I finally had it!! it looked perfect in create mode and I was so happy but then in the character selection screen it looks extremely dark its not suppose to be that dark. it makes me look black but I'm not black and then again during in ring game play it looks completely different again..? so I don't know I'm hoping to have this all fixed on 2K23 I don't know why I'm having this problem.
Also this video is a bit of a special video. This video is dedicated to my dear friend Allen Brown AKA "Voyd" who passed away in 2021. You might be wondering 2021? why did this take so long well with idea went through various idea changes but I ended up wanting to wait until possibly PS5 being that he would not be here with me when we started with the new games and of course were they jumped over 2K21 and of course COVID resulting in PS5s being hard to come by plus I had things going on in my life that needed doing so I had to wait for the right time. "Voyd" as I knew him on PSN was the first person I met on PSN who was actually nice to me. I have been on the internet for many many years and I never experienced the hate and toxicity on the general internet like I did when I signed up to PSN on PS3 in 2008. but he was the first person I met who nice to me I met him online while playing WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 (SVR09) he kept joining Tag Team matches I was making and then eventually sent me a friend request and after that we started chatting and became friends and through him I met more wonderful people on PSN we always remained close and were gaming partners we played tons of stuff together not just WWE like we spent endless hours together saving the world on DC Universe Online (DCUO) and it was so much fun. Even a few days before his passing we were making plans to do somethings on GTA5 on PS4 So I was completely shocked and absolutely heartbroken when I was told that he had passed away being I had just talked to him. So with the arrival of being on PS5 now and him not going to be on PS5 I wanted to do a little something in his memory So that is why I wanted to dedicate the very first video of WWE2K22 and the entire 2K22 Universe run to my wonderfully awesome online friend and gaming partner Allen Brown AKA "Voyd" who showed up all those years ago right when he was needed you are greatly missed and always will be.

If ever comfort wrestling was to exist, EVW one night stand 2005 would absolutely be it. I’ve hated WWE with all my heart since about 2009. The product just went to absolute shit at the end of the 2000s and never recovered. But to be fair to them in 2005 they gave ECW the farewell it deserved. And what you get is a raw PPV, built on the final farewell of one of the single most revolutionary wrestling companies of all time. ECW will always mean so much to me, an independent company in the mid nineties building itself to not just be next to the WWF but compete with it is insane. But it happened and it was brilliant. Ons 2005 let’s the ECW personnel say goodbye to their home of the last 10 years. And it makes me cry every fucking time. Heyman having it out with the smackdown roster, rey mysterio vs psycosis with psycosis finally taking his mask off, the main event having the ECW mainstays, the fact that a kendo stick is still a singapore cane. Not to mention joey styles losing his cool several times throughout the PPV and starting to cry, one night stand 05’ is one of, if not the most beautiful ppv ever put on tv.

Retro Gaming 00’s- WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009: (2008)
The 00’s decade was such as great time to a fan of pro wrestling even though it was not quite as popular as it was during the mid to late 90’s. The 00’s was filled with many memorable pro wrestling games licensed by THQ and developed by Yukes for the most part. There were many popular pro wrestling games that emerged from the 00’s including WWF No Mercy, WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain, Day of…
