#PBS Stage on Screen was a PBS series that presented American theatrical productions. A total of six episodes were produced between 2000 and 2003. The second program was "Twilight: Los Angeles," a one-woman play by actor/playwright Anna Deavere Smith.

Her play told the story of the Rodney King incident from multiple perspectives. Among the dozens of characters she portrayed were (clockwise from upper left) scholar Cornel West; Rodney King's aunt, Angela King; Henry "Keith" Watson, so-assailant of Reginald Denny; and former liquor store owner Mrs. Young-Soon Han.

So I remember watching PBS Kids back in the day on the local New York channels...

...a recent memory surfaced in my mind over what was a weird music video where kids visit an antique shop and somehow grow up into college age I think. The music was likely synth. Might've been 80s or early 90s.

some messy unorganized musings on the recent spacewaffles duel... hate my stupid spacewaffles life 👎

there is absolutely no reason for planet to be saying all that. "you beautiful boy" "you look so cute" "i love you" "i heart you" "i'll give you my helmet don't be sad" "are you insecure of your skills"

okay this might be a hot take on planet's characterization... they are not entirely a good person. re: season 5. we know how the story went. he is selfish and scheming and knows how to get what they want.

and that can coexist with the fact that they are caring. that they are the nicest guy ever. that everyone loves planetlord! but this duel kinda stung in a weird way.

Imagine You are Baconnwaffles0. your best friend has not logged on for a long time. your best friend logs on and you two fight, an echo of old times. it's supposed to be for fun. so why does it carry a weight that it definitely isn't supposed to?

planet: you thought it'd be easy, bacon, huh? but in reality, it's not.

this... the switchup from "omg i love u so much <333" to this massive hit on bacon's ego. Yes Bacon thought it would be easy because they have a 4 heart difference between them and losing would be a huge aura loss for bacon. easy win right (it was not an easy win)

bacon likes to prove himself. that's just who he is. so when he loses obviously he gets a little sad even though he denies it lmfao.

so why this duel stings: planet can see through bacon so easily. and they fuck with him.

they know how to aim at bacon's biggest insecurities. i don't have the exact quote but planet says something along the lines of "if it mattered that much to you i would've let you win" that is the last thing bacon would want to hear because planet is literally pitying him for sucking at pvp. lol. bacon would want an honest victory. not this.

they know how to show him love that he doesn't really find elsewhere. the constant reassurance after the fight ended. smth along the lines of "you're the only person who could fix spawn!!"

and this duel kinda mixed them together into this STUPID FUCKED UP MESS OF EMOTIONS AND. Ough. i don't know how to feel honestly. i just think there is something deeply wrong with s6 spacewaffles

i don't think. planet does this (hurt bacon) intentionally to be honest. that makes it worse. maybe. silly little duels have always been a thing in their relationship but i think their reassurance comes from a place of "oh i might've gone too far". their relationship has not been the same since s5. and planet approaches this duel with the mindset of hehe funny when things are not hehe funny anymore.

like. planet is everything to bacon yet. yet. YET, its so painful. planet is salt on a wound. planet is rotten flesh on an empty stomach. bacon puts all the work in to revive them to see them for 2 seconds before wemmbu spawnkills them and they log off. bacon values their life more than they value their own. planet slips through his fingers. bacon sees them after ages and the realization strikes him that things are not the same and they never will be again.

bacon tries to hold on. and he will continue to because he's bacon and he's stubborn and prideful to a fault and sharp at the corners and only softens up when planet is around.

I feel im the only person who didnt' think cait villian arc was to rushed and didn't show enough bad things going down. everyone calls her a monster AND I wanted to see more so much more so hearing everyone hate on her im thinking in the back of my head man what are you talking about we got a music vid of her doing bad things and then its over and done with bascially.. boring .. i want to see woman doing more crimes.. esp the nice ones turned vengeful..

the critics refuse to let woman characters have any Grey area.

the treatment of caitlyn and jinx proves it. because neither girls are babies or evil monsters. they did bad things but are grey characters that like it or not people will sympathize with. Ones' a murderor. the other gass parts of zaun .. and its seems complely ignored how jinx traumatized cait but jinxs trauma should excuse her actions? That's not how trauma is suppose to work. you can sympathize with a character and not condone their actions

that said i didnt think caitlyn was bad enough i wanted more spice i waslooking forward to her going crazy.. .. instead we got what a music vid of her doing bad things..then guilt right after i was let down and i keep hearing she killed so many people when.. isn't that what jinx did in s1? funny how cait critics jinx fans dont care about her murdering people i mean we dont really see cait killing anyone did the gas kill i dunno it was nt a 100 percent clear

but honestly unpopular opinon. i think jinx did worse crimes. Murderor/ Kidnapping a woman who was naked btw/Blowing up people/Blowing up the capital killing people/ kiling firelights that again is ignroed and why i side eye people aying timebomb is the most healthy ship/ helping silcos drug trade when she knows how he is the reason vander is dead/ tho vander shouldn't have tried to drown him either that was crazy/ i just know jinx has a high body count killed zaun people killed piltover/was fine with gasing all of piltover which did affect children as we see kids in the area of it happening and its treated as a whole nothing to think about. but cait is deemd the monster .. and i just dont like the double standard. i aint gonna side cait was right to gas parts of zaun or hit vi.. but if y a asked me who did worse it was jinx .. and silco.. who.. had a whole child labor ring/drug ring/ ruled zaun with an iron fist his idea of zaun wasn't healthy it was chaos.. and his relationship with jinx was rather screwy.. it def isn't father/daughter goals it never was.. it was meant to be unhealthy not celebreated.

that being said I acutally like all these characters i love my grey characters . I love villians.. i love characters worse than these guys. but the double standards are insane
