Rainbow Club, 131 South 1st St, Las Vegas, 1931.

The “club and buffet,” opened in ’29 at the northeast corner of South 1st St & Carson. It became a casino in summer 1931, and that year became one of the first businesses in Las Vegas with an air conditioning system.

The “first” A/C in Las Vegas may depend on the modern definition of air conditioning. El Portal theater opened earlier with a “cooling plant for summer and the heating plant for winter,” as described by Las Vegas Age, but did not have modern Carrier Refrigeration Corp A/C until later. Apache Hotel, another contender for first A/C in Las Vegas, did not open until '32.

Rainbow Club’s claim to the “Coolest spot in Nevada” was carried by an article in the Review-Journal which described their A/C system as larger version of one that had already been installed at the Strip’s Pair-O-Dice club.

“‘Coolest spot in Nevada.’ That’s the claim of owners Kind and Rowan for their Rainbow club now that the new elaborate air cooling system has been installed by WM Fisher of Bakersfield and Las Vegas … the cooling plant costing close to $3,000 has the capacity to deliver into the double room of the club the astounding total of 19,000 cubit feet of cooled air every minute … a similar but smaller system was installed previously in the new Pair o Dice casino, the same engineers doing the job.” – “Rainbow Club Cooling System Makes Place ‘The Coolest Spot in Nevada’” Review-Journal, 7/11/31

Rainbow Club closed in the mid-30s. The building remained until the mid 1970s when Golden Nugget demolished it for use as a parking lot. In later years Golden Nugget expanded the resort over the former 100-block of South 1st. The exact location of Rainbow club is currently The Tank and swimming pool at Golden Nugget.

Do people really not get how nasty is is to keep claiming Mel was sleeping with Jayce to gain power over him?

I can say with certainty that the reason a lot of people claim that is because they resent her for getting in the way of Jayvik. Even though she as a character has absolutely nothing to do with that they need her to be a villain. They need it to be that Jayce didn’t chose this BW over a WM because who would do such a thing. So Jayce isn’t a willing participant he’s just a victim.

Others I’ll say maybe don’t get that by saying “Mel was sleeping with him for power but didn’t anticipate falling for him” they are saying she denied him consent initially. That makes their relationship rape by deception.

Others claim Jayce betrayed Viktor and so she successfully corrupted him. They even say things like “he’s a naive young man who wanted to be seduced” when he is literally 31 years old.

Regardless of the intention they are all demonizing a BW despite the narrative making it clear Mel and Jayce always had a crush on each other and Mel isn’t a bad person.

Wrestling conspiracy theory:After watching the Wrestlemania 40 documentary, I FIRMLY believe without a hint of doing it for the bit, that Cody Rhodes, Triple H, Paul Heyman, and Roman Reigns all saw Brian Gewirtz plan to have the Rock beat Roman in the main event and then vacate the title and name himself the people's champ and said "Fuck that we'll make him do business."

Crucial to this I believe no one involved had the ability to tell the Rock no, or could afford to offend the Rock outright.

In Roman's case in particular I do not believe he carried that title for three years through Leukemia that evidently made him want to stay in bed some days and wanted to end it on a sour note.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out he doesn't want to work with Rock period, after all Rock didn't do business when Roman needed it and was getting booed as a babyface, he did it when Reigns was the hottest thing on the planet and Rock had egg on his face from the Hawaii debacle and Black Adam failing, and the hit piece on Red Notice came out.

So I think Roman, who had a front row seat to how out of touch the Rock was when Rock was shocked and angry to get booed at the Royal Rumble in 2015, Triple H who saw how the fans hijacked WM 30, 31, 32, 35 etc and knew the fans would play their part, Cody who had an obvious vested interest gave Rock bad info.

"Sure man, he'll just win this rumble match so we don't damage his character, the fans will love seeing you back, you're the Rock" knowing damn well the Cody movement would happen the same as it did for Daniel Bryan.

Since I believe the Rock is only back to help his public image, this would effectively force the Rock's hand and then they all played innocent like "Hey, we all know what those internet fans are like right cuz?"
