Artemis also made an A.I. from his and Holly’s brainwaves, called NANNI, who technically meets the definition of being their offspring, so the fandom occasionally gets a little nuts over that.

Wow, that was some episode. I am not sure how to process it all and things are moving fast. This answers some questions and raises even more. But you know what, I am less worried now. They do love Tangled and it shows, I wonder about the ending but, I am pretty sure it’ll be okay now. Though it feels like it’ll be a race to the finish in more ways then one. No wonder Disney is having such a hard time figuring out how to market it, this is some sophisticated storytelling. I thought it smelled like Avatar: The Last Airbender early in season one but it keeps getting better. I will savor it for a long time as long as it ends as well as it is promising.

Hye Jin’s eyes followed me everywhere as I got ready for bed.

“You look like a freak. Stop smiling.” Hye Jin said at last.

I sat on the bed facing her and couldn’t avoid the grim expression she bore, “Hye Jin, is something wrong?”

“No.” She looked away, “just be careful.”

After a brief silence she continued, “ since when?”

“I don’t really know. This was the first time we met up this way.”

She nodded in response. “Sleep now. You have class early tomorrow.”

2.30 AM

I couldn’t sleep. The whole of yesterday kept replaying in my head. I wanted to see him again. Now. My phone vibrated just then.

Baekhyun sunbae: Sleeping?

Me: no.

Baekhyun sunbae: me too.

Me: I know that.

Baekhyun sunbae: oh yeah, silly me.

Me: when do you have class tomorrow?

I called him. Would he be mad? He answered after two rings.

“Coffee! Are you up finally?” cheerfulness evident in his voice.

“Sunbae, I’m sorry. I didn’t even hear the alarm.”

“It’s alright. I’m outside your dorm. Get ready and come down.”

This was the fastest I’ve ever gotten ready. I was still half asleep when I walked downstairs. He was lying on the grass on the field, soaking in the sun. How could I get used to this? He looked so pure, his skin glistening under the sun. He opened his eyes as I settled beside him.

“Coffee!” He screamed as he sat up. We weren’t even talking. We kept looking at each other as though it had been years since we met.

“Slept well?” I finally asked.

He nodded. “Well, yes and no. You CLEARLY slept well.”

“Sorry, I didn’t even hear the alarm go off. Did you wait long?”

“Why are you apologizing?”

“Because I made you wait.”

“So?”, he leaned in and then whispered, “you have the right to.”

I could feel his breath on my neck. It felt all tingly. Pushing his shoulder, I said, “ oh really?”

“ Why not? I’d wait for you. As long as you’re not doing it on purpose.” He laughed.

We talked for some time, while playing the thumb fighting game. He was strong even though he had such lean fingers. After losing 5 times, I gave up.

“It’s not fair, you have long fingers.”

“Hmpf, excuses. You need some force to pin me down, coffee.”,he scoffed.

It was almost time for my classes when he decided to walk me to my class.

“Study well. Don’t miss me too much. If you do, I’ll skip and come see you.”he said with a serious expression.

“I won’t miss you.”

“Ouch. That hurt.”

“You don’t miss me, why would I?”

“I always miss you, coffee.”

I looked at him with disbelief.

“Anyways, you’re meeting me for lunch.” he said, handing over my bag and laptop.

“I have to meet Chanyeol sunbae for guitar today.”

My girl? Did he just? He’s just casually throwing it to the wind now? Was I his girl yet? We hadn’t really said anything.

“Y/N, Baekhyun sunbae, hello.”,Yong Hwa had arrived.

Baekhyun’s expression got darker with his arrival.

“Hey there, Yong Hwa. I’ll leave now cof.. um, Y/N.”

“Are you close with him?”, Yong Hwa asked curiously.

“Kind of. Maybe.”

The rest of the day passed quickly. With the added pressure of an upcoming test, I headed to the music club to talk to Chanyeol about my instrument lessons.

He was on the drums when I knocked.

“Come in.”

“Hey sunbae.”

“Oh Y/N! I was just wondering when you’d be here. Here, these are my free hours apart from the club schedules.”,he said handing me a piece of paper, “I’m usually in the club in the free hours, so you can find me here, if not, give me a call.”

I nodded.

“And yeah, before I forget…” he was cut off when his phone rang, “ give me a minute.”

“Hello? Yeah. I am. Why? Yes. Obviously. What does that mean? What? Hello?” He hung up and looked at me, “is something going on between you and Baekhyun?”

“No!” I answered without thinking.

“Really? Then he’s acting a little.. off.”, he stared into a distance, before continuing, “or you’re lying.”

I didn’t know how I should answer that, so I picked up his guitar instead.

After asking him a few questions about the guitar, he quickly forgot about me and Baekhyun. He was telling me how to hold the guitar when the door flung open.

“Well, see, Yong Hwa, I told you. Here they are practicing. Since you picked guitar too, you should practice with them.”said Baekhyun as he walked into the room.

My god, he really wasn’t letting this go.

Baekhyun sat there the entire time. After we finished, he asked me what I was doing this evening.

“Sorry, sunbae. I have a test. Tomorrow. I need to study.”

“Okay. That’s fair. I’ll walk you to the dorm then.”

“Actually, I’m going to the library.”

“Oh. That’s cool too. I need to work on a code. We could do it together. Consider it a study date.”

He was being so cute that I ended up smiling, “Okay. Let’s go.”

Baekhyun suggested we go to the IT department library since it would be a good change of scene. Walking to our seats, many people stared at me. Was it because I wasn’t from the department? Then, I realised, they weren’t just looking at me, they were looking at me because I was with him. Soon the anxiety of the exam took over and the matter was forgotten. Baekhyun was a good study partner. He hardly distracted me, except in the beginning when I occasionally caught him staring. After an hour, he was engrossed in his work too. I looked up to study his face. This was a different side of him. Eyebrows scrunched and his lean fingers frantically typing away on his laptop. He even had a pair of round glasses on. All of a sudden he smiled and looked up to meet my eyes, “You’re staring now.”

“No, I was just.. you knowing stretching my neck.”

“Ofcourse. Of Course.”, He smiled as he went back to typing.

It was 9.30 when he finished his work. He looked around and saw that hardly a few students were still seated. He leaned towards me and asked, “are you close to finishing yet, coffee?”

“Sunbae, I can’t remember anything. What am I going to do? I feel like I’m going to fail the first ever test”, I said nervously.

“Whoa, calm down. You’ll remember everything. Tell me what it is that you find difficulty with. I’ll test you and you’ll remember better.”, He asked coming over to sit beside me.

He helped with certain sections that my brain found too overwhelming before. He quickly even brought us food and fed me so that I wouldn’t have to look up from my books.

It was 11.30 when I realised it was late and Baekhyun had his head on the desk for too long. He had fallen asleep. I woke him up slowly.

“Hmm? Are you done, coffee?” He asked groggily.

I felt so guilty to not even have noticed that he was tired.

“Yes, sunbae. Let’s go.”

There were still a couple of students in the library when we left. He was tired. He didn’t even sleep well last night.

“Sunbae, you look so tired, go to the dorm. I’ll walk back to my dorm, it’s okay.”

He looked at me with his sleepy eyes, “ do I look crazy to you?”

“Sunbae….”

“you’re a little unbelievable sometimes.”,he whispered as he turned away.

We walked back in silence after that.

“Y/N”, he called out when we reached the dorm, “I like you. A lot. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt this way. And I’m hoping you do too.”

When I stayed silent, he continued, “ I don’t expect you to answer yet. It’s not practical to. I’m telling you this now, because I want you to know I’m not just playing around. Not this time.”

I nodded in response.

“Okay, go in now. Write the test well. Fighting!”, he exclaimed in the end, grinning.

“Thanks sunbae. Sleep well. You’re so tired.”

He leaned in close to my ear as he whispered, his voice deep, “I’ll try.”, And kissed me on my cheek before moving away.

I was blushing again. Damn.

“Hahaha. I like this. You get so flustered at everything.”

I pouted as he laughed.

When I entered the dorm, Hye Jin was already fast asleep. I quickly changed and went to bed. Baekhyun’s every word was still ringing in my ears.  I like you…. I’m not playing around.

The test went well and I was more than satisfied with myself. Yong Hwa and I were heading towards the cafeteria when Hye Jin joined us.

“Hello folks. How was the test you two?”

“Good!”, we sang in unison.

“That’s good! Y/N came home so late last night, was studying all day.”

“Yeah, this topic is comparatively slightly challenging.”, Yonghwa added.

“Hmm. Were you with Baek sunbae?”, Hye Jin asked.

Baek? He was Baek now? She hardly knew him. Pfft.

“Yeah he helped me study.”

“You seem close to him.”, Yong Hwa said looking at me.

“They even went on a date on Sunday.”, Hye Jin blurted.

“Listen Y/N, this isn’t something to hide. I’m only telling you this because you are my friend and you’re emotionally attaching yourself with him. Don’t keep it a secret. Nothing related to him at least.”

“Do you know something that she doesn’t, Hye Jin?” Yong Hwa questioned. “Because otherwise, you’re being ridiculous. I think Y/N is old enough to handle her life. We needn’t poke our noses in everything. We are her friends, but that doesn’t mean we own her. Plus, why do you like to disclose everything that’s so remotely related to your life? If she has trusted you with some information, it’s hardly respectable to shout it out in amidst a gathering.”

Yong Hwa had left both me and Hye Jin speechless. I didn’t even know he could talk that much in one breath.

“I didn’t mean that. It’s just that…”

“There she goes again.”, Yonghwa cut her in.

I could see Hye Jin welling up.

“Yong Hwa, it’s alright. She means no harm.”

He picked up his plate and left us. I turned to Hye Jin who was sobbing a little.

“Hye Jin, don’t mind him, he must be in a bad mood or something. He usually isn’t like this.”

“I don’t mean to hurt you, Y/N, I swear. I only wanted to protect you.”

“I know, I know. Baekhyun seems like a nice person Hye Jin, he won’t hurt me.”

My phone chimed in between.Baekhyun was texting.

Baekhyun sunbae: hey coffee! How did the test go?

Me: very well! Thank you for helping me out last night.

Baekhyun sunbae: my pleasure princess. ;)

Kyungsoo sunbae: practice this evening. Vocals will gather at 6.

After Hye Jin finished her  lunch, we went out to do a little shopping since we had some free time. At 6, I arrived at the vocal practice room. Kyungsoo and Jongdae were the only ones who were present when I walked in.

“Oh Y/N! Come. Sit.”, Jongdae said patting the chair next to him.

“Y/N, there’s another female vocalist apart from you, who joined yesterday. We’ll train both of you and accordingly check who is better prepared for the performance coming up soon at the college fest.”,he said.

Jongdae and I had just began our practice when Baekhyun and Suho walked in. Baekhyun smiled looking at me, and I immediately began making mistakes. Xiumin and a girl walked in too. We finished our practice and sat out to let Kyungsoo, Baekhyun and Suho finish their set. Boy, all three of them could sing. No wonder they were under main vocals.

To my surprise, the girl who had walked in earlier, was Ji Ah, the girl Baekhyun had gone on a date with.

She wasn’t looking at anyone in the room and her eyes were following Baekhyun’s every step.

As if Jongdae had read my mind, he began, “Hey, I’m Jongdae, seems like I’ve met you before?”

“Oh hi, yes. I was Baekhyun sunbae’s date last week.”,she smiled softly.

“Oh yeah. You seemed familiar. Sorry, I was too drunk that night.”

I quietly looked at her. Why was she here? Didn’t Baekhyun break up with her? I mean they just went on a date, not like they were in a relationship.

“Not like I’d remember even if I wasn't”, he laughed under his breath.

“You don’t remember people’s faces well?”, I asked, distracting myself from thinking about ji ah.
