shakespeare and swooning
alhaitham x g/n reader
synopsis; you read one shakespeare play and now you want to impress your "buddy" alhaitham with your newfound knowledge !! what could go wrong?
fluff, g/n reader, TOTAL CRACKFIC, OOC alhaitham, SWEARING, kind of a modern au ???? i mention "ringing tighnari" but that could just be imagined as using the akasha terminal !!!! didnt write this with a modern au in mind
warning ‼️ PLEASE dont expect this to be accurate, if youre a big classic literature fan then dont attack me for not being a NERD ☹️ just imagine a poser using their fancy words (because they think its cool)

you know how libraries are supposed to be a place of study and tranquility? no the fuck you don't, or at least you don't care, because running through the house of daena with shakespeares, "romeo and juliet," in your hands is NOT very tranquil.
multiple poor akademiya students look at you, PISSED OFF because your shoes are going clu-clonk on the marble floors, which wouldn't be an issue if you weren't scurrying through the library.
is that kaveh ?? he's giving you the same look he gives alhaitham every day ..
... but this is IMPORTANT !! you're on a MISSION right now !! you just finished reading the first act of "romeo and juliet," and you're convinced your brain has expanded tenfold in size.
you're now rushing to your good pal haitham to share your knowledge! how kind and gracious!
you're stopped before his house, you've known him for long enough and gotten close enough for him to let you come in whenever. you know kaveh isn't home, and haitham would never purposefully work overtime, so you're certain you can get his attention and show off in peace.
why are you so adamant about showing off to alhaitham? is it REALLY showing off, or are you trying to, heehee, impress him?? its too late to be flustered at this thought because you already unlocked the door with the spare key kaveh leaves behind one of haithams ugly ass decorative plants and you've taken off your shoes and oh god hes right there and the sunlight from the door is lighting up his face in that way that only happens to him and hes looking at you with a suprised, slightly annoyed, but incredibly fond look and oh no what was your plan again?
"greetings, alhaitham! ☝️🤓" you say, finding a surge of confidence remembering the story you read.
"... hey. what are you doing here?" his response is quick but before you respond he continues, "did you just say greetings?"
"indubidibdibdly! hath you be surprised?" you pretentious hipster. you think youre SO cool, but unfortunately your little crush doesn't seem very impressed either.
"okay, what are you doing? you're being weird." he's not even looking at you, and he's back in his chair before you can rush over and sit on the couch. "is something wrong? should i get tighnari to give you a checkup?"
you'd be touched by the care of the suggestion if he wasn't so cheeky in his tone.
"wha, what, no?! no what the hell- stop ringing tighnari."
"are thou o'er wrought with admiration?" you grin, somehow still under the impression that you sound cool.
he gives an eyebrow raise to that. not bothering to mark his place in his book, he stands up.
"i lie testy in why you act so unpregnant, my dear."
"what"
HUH ? what did bro just say ? testy ???? unpregnant ?? MY DEAR ??? backtrack again, UN-WHAT ??
"be still my beating heart, thou hast taken mine with absolute cunning." is he making fun of you i genuinely can't tell ... its like hes speaking in moon runes right now.
"haitham, heheh, WHAT are you DOING ??" you can't help but laugh at his funny little words, magic man. even if you're clueless to what he just said to you.
"whatever doth thou mean?" he's totally making fun of you !! after ALL your effort to impress him too?
"well, usually i do all the ranting and you sit pretty and listen, so it's weird that you're talking so much, especially like THAT?" fym sit pretty ....
"when words are scarce they are seldom spent in vain." that sounds familiar, but you can't think about it longer before he continues, "shall i compare thee to a summers day?"
"ALRIGHT, i recognize that one, dummy." you laugh, "were you really not impressed by me?" you whisper, the rush of embarrassment you shouldve felt in that library is finally catching up with you.
he stares at you for a second. you just wish you could find out what hes thinking up there, if you could even understand it.
and then he lets you into his mind, with a simple "i love you." as if alhaitham, renowned scribe of the akademiya, top student, couldn't find the words to describe how he felt for you.
or maybe that was what he felt for you. he loved you.
"... you called me unpregnant."

A Day with The Captain (and Others)
Pairings: Various Genshin Men x Isekai'd!Reader, Capitano x Isekai'd!Reader, Ifa x Isekai'd!Reader, Ororon x Isekai'd!Reader, Kinich x Isekai'd!Reader, Dainsleif x Isekai'd!Reader, Kaveh x Isekai'd!Reader, slight Mavuika x Isekai'd!Reader
Summary: You and Capitano journey into Natlan for his Fatui business, but you injure yourself in the process (clumsy you). During your trip to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, you and Capitano meet familiar faces.
Note: Hiiiii, sorry for not posting in so long TT_TT I have been really busy and 2025 was not nice to me at all. I have decided to get rid of my posting schedule because it puts a lot of pressure on me, and I want to be able to post a fanfic when I'm satisfied with the outcomes. I'm going to try to post more fanfics, but the posting schedule will be different every time. If you want to be notified when I post (aside from turning on my blog notifications), I will alert everyone in my Discord server that I have linked at the very bottom of this post. I never realized how Capitano-centered this fic was until I completed it. Anyway, I don't post anywhere else but on Tumblr (Genshinluvr), Ko-Fi (also Genshinluvr/Aaliah_exo), and AO3 (Aaliah_exo).
Warnings: None that I know of, aside from bad writing after not writing anything in months. Maybe the mischaracterization of the Natlan men.
Word Count: 6.2k
“You didn’t have to carry me, you know?” You murmur as you rest your chin on Capitano’s shoulders, letting the Harbinger carry you on his back.
Capitano chuckles, shaking his head. “I wouldn’t have to carry you if you hadn’t tripped on a rock and twisted your ankle,” Capitano retorts. “I knew you were clumsy, but not this clumsy.”
Your face heats up at Capitano’s comment, causing you to bury your face into his neck. Capitano’s shoulders bounce as he softly laughs. You tighten your legs around his waist as Capitano adjusts you on his back before proceeding to make his way toward the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. While the other men are tending to their duties (work and other pressing matters), you and Capitano are in Natlan. Capitano has some pressing Fatui matters to tend to in Natlan, but you wanted to tag along with the Harbinger because you never really spend time with him alone. Then again, you’re usually not able to spend some alone time with any man because of how possessive some men can get.
“We should get you medical attention as soon as possible. Your ankle is swelling up,” Capitano mutters, breaking you out of your daydream.
You blink and shake your head. “I may have twisted my ankle, but it’s not that bad!” You protest, wiggling your ankle to prove to Capitano that you’re okay.
However, in doing so, sharp pain shoots up your legs, causing you to wince. Capitano stares at you, not saying a word.
You look away, heat creeping up your neck. “I twisted my ankle a few minutes ago, Capitano. Of course, it’s going to hurt.”
Even though Capitano has his helmet on, you can tell that he rolled his eyes at your poor excuse. Sometimes, you forget how protective Capitano is when it comes to you. Heck, the others are just as protective, but Capitano’s level of protectiveness is on another level. Wait… is it protectiveness or possessiveness? The two go hand-in-hand when it comes to the men you hold near and dear to your heart.
Capitano proceeds to give you a piggyback ride to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, not caring about the strange looks people give the both of you as you two walk past them. The fur on Capitano’s cloak makes it nearly impossible to wrap your arms around his neck due to how puffy it is.
“What’s on your mind?” Capitano asks, tilting his head back to look at you.
You adjust your arms around his neck, shaking your head. “Nothing. I’m wondering if we’ll run into Kinich and Ororon while we’re in Natlan, that’s all,” you lie.
Capitano grunts in response, stopping in his tracks. “Why? Do you not want to spend some alone time with me?” Capitano asks.
You can’t tell if he’s joking or if he’s being serious. “Huh? What makes you say that?!” You exclaim, unwrapping your legs around Capitano’s waist. “Put me down.” You mumble, tapping on Capitano’s biceps.
The black-haired Harbinger hesitantly places you down on the ground, making sure you don’t hurt yourself in the process. You look down to see Capitano with his arm around your waist, refusing to let you stand on both your feet; you raise an eyebrow at Capitano while he continues to stare at you without saying a word.
You waddle closer to Capitano, cupping his face (helmet?) in your hands. “Why are you pouty when I mentioned running into Kinich and Ororon in Natlan? We’re in their nation! It’s very likely we’ll run into them or Mualani and Kachina.” You said, staring up at the Harbinger.
You can almost hear Capitano roll his eyes as he places his unoccupied hand over yours. “I’m not pouty. Am I not allowed to want to spend some alone time with you without someone interfering?” Capitano mutters, pressing his forehead against yours.
You gulp, slowly turning your head, but Capitano grabs you by the chin and forces your head to remain in place. Capitano stares into your eyes, waiting for your response. The longer you two look into each other’s eyes— well, you’re staring into complete darkness because of his helmet— the more your face becomes warmer.
You pat Capitano’s head, smiling at the Harbinger. “I didn’t think someone of your caliber would feel and act this way when it comes to little ol’ me,” you murmur. “This side of you is very cute and endearing. I want to see it more, Capitano.”
Archons, you’re fighting the urge to squeeze Capitano. No matter how tall or short you are, the Captain towers over you.
Capitano chuckles and pats your head. “Only you are allowed to see this side of me. No one else but you.” Capitano then proceeds to lift you and carry your bridal style, continuing the trek to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame.
The once peaceful atmosphere between you and Capitano is soon interrupted by a familiar voice. “Aw, the Captain and the weasel are having a sweet and intimate moment! How disgusting!”
Capitano stops in his tracks and turns around, seeing Kinich, Ajaw, and Ororon approach the both of you. You can almost see Capitano visibly deflate at the mere sight of Kinich and Ororon. You give him a comforting pat on the shoulders, watching the two Natlanteans approach you and Capitano.
Ororon nods to Capitano before turning to you, smiling. “[Y/N], it’s good to see you in Natlan. What brings you here?”
You smile at Ororon and rest your head on Capitano’s shoulders. “Oh, you know, just spending time with Capitano! We never really got to spend some time together outside of the abode. Capitano has some things to do, but I decided to tag along because I didn’t want to be alone,” you reply.
“Are you sure that’s the actual reason? Or is it because you have a fear of abandonment? You’re dating more than one person; someone is bound to leave at one point because they get bored with you.” Ajaw cackles.
If you had dog ears, it would’ve been flat on your head after hearing Ajaw’s comment. Kinich pinches the bridge of his nose, sighing and shaking his head. The atmosphere suddenly changes, almost like the warm air of Natlan plummets to near-freezing temperatures. You peek at Capitano from the corner of your eyes; if you look closely and squint hard enough, you will see a dark aura surrounding the Harbinger. Maybe murderous is a better word for it.
You turn to look at Capitano, pointing at the tiny, floating menace that is Ajaw. “Can you give me permission to strangle this little shit?” You ask.
Kinich sighs. “I wouldn’t recommend doing that, but I’ll handle it myself. You have nothing to worry about,” Kinich says.
You cross your arms over your chest and huff, sticking your nose up in the air. Capitano walks away, kissing the top of your head. You lean into Capitano’s arms, thinking about what Ajaw said. How in the world does Ajaw know that you have a fear of abandonment? Are you that easy to read? You’re so deep in your thoughts that you don’t realize that you and Capitano have arrived at the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. The stadium is as lively as ever, with a bustling crowd and children running around, laughing and screaming.
Capitano helps you sit on one of the seats, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “I would advise you not to listen to the creature. He’s merely trying to get a reaction out of you for entertainment,” Capitano says gruffly, kneeling before you and reaching for your injured foot.
“Ajaw is such a jerk. I don’t get how someone can tolerate something as rotten as Ajaw.” You mumble, wincing when Capitano gently massages your swollen ankle. “What if he’s right? What if you all slowly get bored with me and start leaving one by one?”
Capitano laughs sarcastically, shaking his head. “I highly doubt that will happen, [Y/N]. If you have any doubts, we will not hesitate to quell your concerns.”
You stare at Capitano, engrossed in your thoughts while watching the Harbinger gently massage your swollen ankles. While both you and Capitano are occupied, the two of you fail to notice Ororon, Kinich, and a mysterious man approaching both of you.
Capitano lets out a slow exhale, cupping your ankle with both hands. “I believe it’s best for Doctor Baizhu to check up on you when we return to the abode,” Capitano murmurs, his hands gradually getting colder.
For some reason, it had slipped your mind that Capitano’s vision is cryo. Wait— does he have a vision? Your eyes immediately start scanning Capitano from head to toe, searching for a cryo vision. Someone clears their throat, grabbing your attention.
“Need some help, you two?” The light grayish cyan-haired man standing between Kinich and Ororon asks, smiling at you and Capitano. “Ororon and Kinich informed me of what happened, and while I may not be a doctor, I can provide some temporary relief until you take them to see Doctor Baizhu.”
Capitano stands up and shields you from the three Natlanteans. Capitano crosses his arms over his chest, scrutinizing the new addition to the group. You peek from behind Capitano, making eye contact with the mysterious man. The man smiles at you before glancing at Capitano, crossing his arms over his chest.
Ororon sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. “I know you’re protective of [Y/N], and we all are, but Ifa can provide temporary medical care for them. Ifa is my friend, Capitano. You have nothing to worry about.” Ororon reassures the Harbinger, occasionally looking over at you.
Capitano continues to scrutinize the three men before turning to you. You and Capitano stare at each other as if communicating telepathically. Capitano holds his arm out towards you as you stand up, making sure you’re not putting too much pressure on your injured ankle. Capitano debates whether he should give you a piggyback ride or just carry you to wherever Ororon, Ifa, and Kinich wanted you and Capitano to go. Capitano wraps his arms around your waist and scoops you into his arms, carrying you bridal style.
Ifa leads the way while Kinich and Ororon walk beside Capitano. You glance at the four men after making eye contact with bystanders as the five of you walk further into the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. You can’t help but realize that from an outsider’s perspective, seeing a Fatui Harbinger carrying an injured person with three other men following along is an interesting sight. But dear Archons, the number of stares you’re receiving is making you feel a bit out of place.
You rub the back of your neck. “So, where are you leading us exactly, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Ifa stops in his tracks and crosses his arms over his chest. “I’m leading you away from prying eyes. I figured you don’t want to draw a crowd while I tend to your injuries.” Ifa replies, shooting you a charming smile.
The five of you approach a table that is tucked in a corner of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, away from prying eyes, just as Ifa wanted. Capitano sits you on one of the chairs and stands close by, refusing to leave your side. Ifa chuckles to himself, kneeling before you and reaching for your injured ankle.
You gaze at Ifa curiously, wondering what he found funny. “What are you laughing at?” You ask, watching the man before you place an ice pack on your swollen ankle—wait, when and where did he get the ice pack from?
Ifa shakes his head. “Oh, nothing. I find it— what’s the word? Funny? Adorable? Interesting? Yeah, that could work. It's interesting that you have quite a few people wrapped around your fingers. A Fatui Harbinger being one of them is definitely interesting,” Ifa says lightheartedly.
Ifa wraps your injured ankle before propping it on another chair across from you. You look up at Capitano, who hasn’t taken his eyes off of you in the slightest, before looking over at Kinich and Ororon.
Kinich gently squeezes your shoulders. “How did this happen? You two weren’t ambushed by anyone while traveling to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, were you?” Kinich asks, leaning against the table beside you.
You press your lips into a thin line, unsure how to respond to Kinich’s concerns. Ororon, Kinich, and Ifa wait for your response while you awkwardly sit there. You can always lie and say that you and Capitano were, in fact, ambushed, and Capitano saved the day as per usual and got you to safety.
“It must be traumatizing enough for [Y/N] not to want to say anything. Judging by the appearance of both [Y/N] and Capitano, I can safely assume that they managed to escape unscathed. However, during the process of escaping, [Y/N] most likely lost their footing, causing them to twist their ankle,” Ororon theorizes, stroking his chin.
You stare at Ororon with your mouth agape, amazed that Ororon’s able to come up with an almost convincing theory. It's too bad that the only information Ororon’s correct about is that you twisted your ankle. Ifa looks at Ororon, nodding his head, seemingly impressed with Ororon’s analytical skills based on what he’s looking at.
You slowly nod. “Yeah, I wish that were the case, but I tripped on a rock and twisted my ankle while Capitano and I were on our way to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. There was no ambush, fortunately and also unfortunately,” you reply sheepishly.
“Oh? Why is it both fortunate and unfortunate?” Ifa asks.
“Fortunate that both you and the Captain weren’t ambushed, but also unfortunate because the actual reason makes you look stupid?” Kinich interjects, raising an eyebrow at you with a small smile.
Your bottom lip juts out while you nod in response to Kinich’s question. Kinich chuckles and resists the urge to pinch your cheek. The sun is still high in the sky, meaning your day in Natlan has yet to end, and Capitano’s Fatui duties have yet to begin. The only reason why you and Capitano are in the Stadium of the Sacred Flame is because of your unfortunate accident.
Your head snaps in Capitano’s direction, eyes wide with worry. “Capitano, you still have Fatui duties to tend to. I’m sorry my clumsiness resulted in us having to take a detour to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame,” you apologize.
Capitano shakes his head, gently rubbing your head affectionately. “There’s no need to apologize. While my duties are important, they’re not pressing matters. We can continue our journey after this,” he replies.
Ifa watches the way Capitano treats you, intrigued by the way you two interact. Ororon has told Ifa about their relationship with you, and it piqued Ifa’s curiosity because, from an outsider’s perspective, how does that work? How can over thirty people share one person? How does the dynamic work exactly? Are they dating each other as well, or do they all share you but don’t care for the others involved?
Ororon nudges Ifa, giving him a questioning look when the two lock eyes. “I’ve been trying to get your attention for three minutes now. What are you thinking about, Ifa?” Ororon asks, raising an eyebrow at his dear friend.
Ifa presses his lips into a thin line, shaking his head. “Oh, nothing! Don’t worry about it, Ororon.” Ifa pats Ororon’s shoulders. “Capitano, if you’re worried, [Y/N] can stay here with the three of us while you’re away tending your duties for the Fatui. It’s best for [Y/N] to rest their injured ankle, and we can keep an eye on them while you’re away.” Ifa suggests.
Silence falls over everyone as you all wait for Capitano’s response. The Harbinger crosses his arms over his chest, staring at the four of you. You can’t tell if Capitano is hesitating, or debating whether he should leave you at the Stadium of the Sacred Flame with Ororon, Kinich, and Ifa. The ice pack on your wrapped ankle soothes the pain of your twisted ankle, making you feel at ease. You want to tag along with Capitano to his Fatui duties, but with a wrapped and iced ankle, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to tag along with your Harbinger significant other.
You gently touch Capitano’s forearm. “I can stay here and wait for your return, Capitano. I don’t want to be a burden to you. What if we do end up getting ambushed? You won’t be able to fend for yourself because I’ll be dead weight—”
“You will never be a burden.” The three men— Capitano, Kinich, and Ororon— interrupt your rambling.
Ifa’s gaze shifts from one man to another, amused by what’s unfolding before him. “[Y/N], are you aware of the power you have?” Ifa mutters, stroking his chin.
You look at Ifa, rubbing the back of your neck with a sheepish smile. “Hehe, what power?” You feign ignorance, looking over at your beloved partners from the corner of your eye.
Ifa raises an eyebrow at you, the corner of his lips curling up into a smirk as he gazes at you with amusement.
You clear your throat before turning to look at Capitano, Ororon, and Kinich. “But in all seriousness, I can stay here and rest. I shouldn’t be moving too much when I’m injured.”
Capitano sighs, unsure of how to respond. Capitano looks at your wrapped ankle, then at your face while you stare at him, waiting for his response. Even if he’s okay with temporarily leaving you at the Stadium of the Sacred Flame to deal with Fatui matters, he doesn’t want you to be in Natlan “alone.” Sure, you’ll have Ororon, Kinich, and Ifa keeping you company while he’s away, but you were looking forward to having some alone time with him, even though he has Fatui matters to handle.
Ororon hums, stroking his chin. “If it helps you ease your mind a bit, [Y/N] can still go with you, but we’ll tag along with you and [Y/N] to keep them company while you’re dealing with Fatui stuff.”
Capitano ends up reluctantly agreeing to Ororon’s suggestion in the end. Before continuing your journey to wherever in Natlan the Fatui business is, you all decide to take the opportunity to eat before continuing the trip.
You stare at the menu, eyes wide. “Everything looks so good! I don’t know what to choose,” you mutter, crossing your arms over your chest while skimming the menu.
Ifa leans close to you, “Why don’t you order one of everything and try them out?” Ifa suggests, looking at you through his long lashes.
You stare at Ifa and then at the menu, debating whether to order one of everything, as Ifa has suggested. If you do, there’s a chance that everyone won’t be able to finish the entire thing, and you don’t want to bring back leftovers.
“Is it possible that you’re scheming something, Ifa?” You mutter, raising an eyebrow at Ifa.
Ifa presses his lips into a thin line, suppressing a smile. You turn to Capitano, Ororon, and Kinich, only to see them stare at you and Ifa. Oh, shit, did something happen? Ifa nudges you and shoots you a look, as if he’s egging you on.
You narrow your eyes at Ifa before pointing at the menu and turning to the other men. “Would it be possible for me to order one of everything on the menu? Minus the alcohol because I don’t intend on drinking.”
Kinich raises his eyebrows at you, leaning back in his seat. “Are you going to be eating everything? No judgment, of course.”
You slowly nod your head. “I’m trying everything! But I also want to bring something back to the estate for the others, you know?”
Everyone sits in silence for a moment, glancing at each other like they can communicate telepathically—it’s not entirely impossible. You all end up ordering everything on the menu and trying out every dish the beautiful Pyro nation has to offer. Because you wanted to try every dish from Natlan, you took one bite of every dish (with different cutlery, of course), and ultimately finished the one you enjoyed the most.
After everyone finishes eating their food, they pack the leftover food and put it in their inventory. Sometimes you forget that you’re in a video game and inventories exist. Now you don’t have to worry about bringing back a large amount of food to the estate and having to deal with unintentionally luring saurians with food.
Capitano turns his back in your direction and squats; you wrap your arms around his shoulders and your legs around his waist. Capitano grasps onto your thighs and adjusts you on his back before beginning your journey to somewhere in Natlan. You rest your head on Capitano’s shoulders, closing your eyes. The amount of food you have consumed was more than you would usually eat, and you’re starting to regret it.
Kinich peeks at you, eyebrows furrowing. “[Y/N]? Are you alright?” Kinich asks, walking closer to you and Capitano.
You close your eyes, nodding. “I’m okay, Kinich. Why’d you ask?” You mumble, cheeks squished on Capitano’s shoulders.
Kinich and Ororon look at each other. While you wait for Kinich and Ororon’s response, you slowly drift to sleep on Capitano’s shoulders. The gentle rocking of Capitano’s pace, the warm sun, and the gentle breeze are lulling you to sleep. Ifa chuckles, shaking his head as he and the others continue walking in silence, afraid of disturbing your sleep. Capitano peeks over his shoulder to get a look at you. For a moment, Capitano’s tempted to carry you in his arms rather than have you cling to him while you’re asleep. But at the same time, Capitano doesn’t want to disturb your sleep by moving you around just to carry you in his arms.
Ifa puckers his lips. “So… tell me more about your relationship with [Y/N]. What’s it like to share a partner with other people?” Ifa asks casually, tucking his hands in his pocket.
“We,” Ororon gestures to him and Kinich, “wouldn’t say that we’re dating [Y/N] per se…” Ororon trails off, scratching the back of his head.
Ifa raises his eyebrows at Ororon’s response, questioning whether Ororon is telling the truth or is trying to deflect. The two men (Kinich and Ororon) have been spending a lot of time with you at the estate if they’re not busy, and for Ororon to say that they weren’t dating you is both questionable and debatable. Ifa notices how Kinich and Ororon act around you while the five of you were at the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. They dote on you, and it’s cute! The not-so-subtle stare, the longing looks they shoot in your direction while you’re not paying attention, the way they would smile whenever you speak.
Kinich crosses his arms over his chest, looking elsewhere. The sight of blush creeping up Kinich’s face makes Ifa smirk. “It’s complicated, Ifa. We have been talking to and spending time with [Y/N], but we don’t know them enough to consider ourselves dating…” Kinich trails off, grabbing the back of his neck.
“Hey, if you guys want someone to be your relationship counselor, I’m here,” Ifa says nonchalantly, nodding. “It’s not too late for me to be part of [Y/N]’s little harem, is it?” He teases, the corner of his lips quirking up.
Capitano scoffs at Ifa’s cheeky comment, not taking his eyes off the trail before him. Ifa raises his eyebrows at Capitano’s response while Kinich and Ororon give each other the side eye. You mumble in your sleep and crack your eyes open, squinting at the sun. You rub your eyes and yawn, snuggling up against Capitano’s shoulders.
Ororon peeks at you, smiling. “How was your short nap?” Ororon asks, stroking your hair.
You smile at Ororon, blinking at him sleepily. “It barely feels like a nap. Like I only closed my eyes and did not fall asleep at all,” you reply, letting out a deep exhale. “I think the food is making me sleepy. Maybe I should walk instead of being carried around by Capitano.”
The men around you vocalize their protests when you try to get off Capitano’s back, but he refuses to put you down. You give Capitano and the others a questioning look while he shakes his head.
Ifa chuckles, shaking his head and gestures to your still-injured ankle. “Did it slip your mind that you’re injured? You’re not allowed to walk or stand on your own until you heal,” Ifa comments, crossing his arms over his chest.
You lightly smack your forehead, sighing. “Right, how could I forget about that?” You mutter. Your face heats up with embarrassment as you proceed to bury your face into the fur on Capitano’s cloak, wanting to die from embarrassment. Capitano chuckles and strokes your hair. The journey continues for another hour or so (you don’t know how long the trip actually is because you’re not keeping track of the time due to constantly falling asleep), and you all finally see a Fatui camp in the distance.
Capitano squats down, letting you get off him. Ororon and Ifa steady you, making sure you don’t put any pressure on your injured ankle. Yeah, you twisted your ankle, and you can probably walk if you had some crutches, but that’s not going to happen anytime soon, especially when you know that Baizhu, your lovely Doctor boyfriend, will not approve of you moving around with an injury.
“We got this from here, Capitano. You can go tend to your duties now,” Kinich says, gesturing for the Harbinger to go on ahead without the four of you.
Capitano nods and looks in your direction one last time. You two lock eyes (well, you technically can’t see his eyes, but you’re assuming you’re gazing into his pretty eyes) momentarily; you nod to the Captain as both a confirmation and reassurance. Capitano walks to the Fatui camp, leaving you, Ororon, Kinich, and Ifa behind.
“We can sit under the tree in the shade while we wait for Capitano, if that’s okay with you guys,” you suggest, pointing at a tree about ten meters from where the Fatui camp is.
Even though the tree’s not that far (to you), Ifa offers to carry you to the tree rather than have you hang around Ororon and Ifa’s shoulders while they assist you to the destination. While the four of you slowly make your way to the tree, Capitano makes sure to keep an eye on the four of you, making sure nothing happens to the four of you (mainly you).
The Fatui Agent clears his throat. “Are you alright, Capitano?”
Capitano nods. “Yes, why did you ask?” Capitano replies, crossing his arms over his chest.
The Fatui Agent laughs nervously, shaking his head. “It’s nothing, sir. Anyway, shall we proceed with the meeting?”
Capitano nods wordlessly, gesturing for the Agent to continue where he left off.
The four of you have no idea how long Fatui meetings typically last, but it sure is dragging on longer than you anticipated. Now you’re sitting in the shade, watching Kinich, Ororon, and Ifa demonstrate their abilities.
You hug your legs to your chest, resting your chin on your knees. “Why did I get the sense of déjà vu?” You mumble, squinting as you try to adjust to the sunlight.
Ifa leans against the tree, tilting his head to the side. “Care to clarify? How does this feel like déjà vu?” Ifa asks.
Kinich and Ororon sit beside you, sandwiching you between them. You shrug, trying to think back to a time when this situation felt similar to the one now. This is the first time you’re in Natlan for this long and with just the men from Natlan, plus Capitano. Why is this feeling so familiar? Then, it pops into your head.
You snap your fingers, sitting up straight. “Ah! It’s because I somehow always end up injured whenever I step outside of the estate. If I remember correctly— I probably am not, when I met Kaveh, I also got injured,” You say. “But I could also be misremembering it. Shit, is my memory that bad?” You deflate, resting your chin back on your knees with a sigh.
Ororon pats your head, smiling at you sympathetically. “I think we should visit Doctor Baizhu after we return to the estate. Not just for your twisted ankle, but for your head as well, maybe,” Ororon suggests.
You stare at the man and press your lips into a thin line. I mean, it won’t be too much of a hassle to get your head checked, would it? While you’re buried in your thoughts, a familiar figure approaches the four of you. Ororon, Kinich, and Ifa immediately stand up, greeting the new presence. Biker boots stop in front of you, snapping you out of your thoughts. You slowly look up: from the shoes to the leather-clad legs, you lock eyes with red eyes. Your eyes widen when you finally come to realize who’s standing in front of you—the Pyro Archon. You push yourself off the ground, scrambling to get up.
Mavuika’s eyes widen, quickly grabbing and steadying you. “Whoa, there! Careful now!” Mavuika chuckles, both her hands on your biceps. “It’s good to finally meet you, [Y/N]. I’ve been hearing great things from Capitano, Kinich, and Ororon,” Mavuika says, looking over at the three men with a cheeky smile.
Your eyes widen, staring at the Pyro Archon with a starstruck expression. The Pyro Archon knows of your existence because of the three (now four) men you hold near and dear to your heart?! Wait, they talked about you to the Pyro Archon? You look at Kinich, Ororon, and Ifa with a questioning gaze. Kinich and Ororon look away, acting like they don’t hear what Mavuika says to you.
Mavuika’s eyes widen. “Ah! Let’s not forget the dear traveler, Aether. You’re all he talks about whenever he visits Natlan,” Mavuika giggles, shaking her head. “Aether wasn’t wrong when he said that you’re adorable.” Mavuika pinches your cheek.
You look away, face warming up under her touch. Today may be the first time you’re meeting the Pyro Archon in person, and you want to make a good first impression, but she’s already pinching your cheeks while spilling information from your beloved partners.
Mavuika’s eyes widen before gesturing for you to sit back down. “Please sit down! I don’t want you to stand up with an injured ankle,” she says, guiding you over to a tree stump you didn’t notice that was there the entire time. After getting you to sit down, Mavuika turns to the others, her hands propped on her hips. “Now, care to explain how [Y/N] got injured?”
Mavuika reminds you of a mom with how she’s demanding an explanation on how you managed to injure yourself. Kinich gives Mavuika the rundown on how it all happened while you awkwardly sit there, not wanting to see her reaction to the dumb reason you twisted your ankle. After the brief explanation, Mavuika exhales through her nose while stroking her chin, nodding. Mavuika turns to you and pats your head with a soft laugh, “Ah, so the injury is due to your clumsiness. Aether said you were cute, and he wasn’t kidding.”
You bury your face into your hands. Mavuika snickers and continues to pat your head, her eyes wandering over to where Capitano stands with the other Fatui Agents. Mavuika sighs before crossing her arms over her chest, questioning why you choose to tag along with the Harbinger. Mavuika is aware of your relationship with more than one person, and she’s not one to judge people and who they date! One thing she does question is how your relationship with around thirty men works out because she could’ve sworn there are at least two or more people who are possessive over you, and it’s not Aether.
Mavuika props her hands on her hips, gazing at you with seriousness. “[Y/N]. Be honest with me, alright?” You stare at Mavuika blankly, confused about what caused her to switch up. “What do you want me to be honest about?”
It’s strange that Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, demands that you be honest with her about something despite meeting each other less than an hour ago. Mavuika squats in front of you and grabs both of your hands, squeezing them. “These men have been treating you right, correct? If not, you can tell me everything and I will handle it myself,” Mavuika says, deadpan.
You smile and gently squeeze Mavuika’s hands in response. “They treat me extremely well! I never knew what real love was until these men came into my life, Mavuika. Trust me, they fill the empty void in my heart.”
Mavuika nods, biting the inside of her cheek as she contemplates. Mavuika sighs and gets up, slowly releasing your hand before stepping away. When Mavuika steps away, you can’t help but notice how close she was to you, so close that her leather pants would brush against your bare legs when she stands up. When did she get so close to you?
Ifa and Ororon look at each other from the corner of their eyes. Kinich looks at Mavuika from the corner of his eyes, almost like he’s judging her by the look on his face. You press your lips into a thin line, debating whether you should say something. You open your mouth to speak, but heavy hands landing on your shoulders startle you.
“Mavuika, what a surprise to see you here,” Capitano says.
You look up to see Capitano towering over you, not sparing you a glance. You place your hands over his, gently squeezing them. “Ah! You’re back! How was the meeting with your comrades?” You ask.
Capitano doesn’t respond. Instead, he continues to stare at Mavuika without saying a word. The corner of Mavuika’s lips curves up, crossing her arms over her chest. Both Capitano and Mavuika don’t speak as they stare at each other for a prolonged time. You can feel the tension rise between Capitano and Mavuika as the silence between them drags on.
Kinich clears his throat. “If you are done with your Fatui business, I think now is the time to return to the estate with [Y/N],” Kinich says, turning to you, “don’t you agree, [Y/N]? We should get you to Doctor Baizhu to check out your injury.”
You nod, getting ready to stand up from where you’re sitting, only for Capitano to push you down. “Yeah, what Kinich said! Since you’re done with your Fatui meeting, we can return to the estate now, right? After all, I do need to get my ankle checked out, and we have leftovers that need to be refrigerated.”
Capitano nods, effortlessly lifts you and carries you bridal style while Mavuika scrutinizes you and Capitano—maybe just Capitano. Capitano turns around and starts walking away with Ifa, Ororon, and Kinich following. The five of you come to a stop when a familiar face approaches your small group.
You wave at Dainsleif, smiling at the man. “Dainsleif! What are you doing in Natlan?”
Dainsleif nods, now standing before your group. Dainsleif opens his mouth to respond, but closes his mouth when his eyes land on your wrapped ankle. Dainsleif crosses his arms over his chest, gazing at you with displeasure. “What happened?” Dainsleif demands, now standing much closer to examine your injured ankle.
“Well, you see—”
“You tripped, didn’t you?” Dainsleif deadpans.
You pucker your lips and nod, looking away from the blond man. Dainsleif sighs for the umpteenth time, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “We’re going to need to put you in a bubble if you ever leave the estate,” Dainsleif mutters.
Your eyes widen at Dainsleif’s comment, rapidly shaking your head in protest. There’s no way in hell you’re going to be put in a bubble if you ever leave the estate! It’s not like you’re against being safe, it’s because—
“Then that will solidify the fact that [Y/N] is, in fact, an Abyss Mage! The bubble surrounding [Y/N] will also confirm that they are a hydro Abyss Mage,” Kaveh says, strutting up to your group with a shit eating grin.
You stare at Kaveh, deadpan. You throw your hands up in the air before slumping against Capitano’s chest, glaring at the other blond man. If you were a cat, your tail would be flicking with irritation. Kaveh flashes his pearly whites at you and reaches out to ruffle your hair, only for you to smack his hand away with a glare.
“Aw, come on, [Y/N]. Don’t be like that in front of our new guest and potential new housemate,” Kaveh teases, poking your sides after glancing at Ifa from the corner of his eyes.
Ifa quirks his eyebrows at Kaveh’s comment, but doesn’t interject. You burrow yourself in Capitano’s chest after hearing Kaveh’s comment. Ifa being a potential new housemate at the estate? You’re not entirely sure if Ifa is interested in the slightest! You peek over Capitano’s shoulders to look at Ifa, only to lock gazes with him. Heat rushes to your cheeks as you quickly duck down and bury your face into Capitano’s chest, ears becoming hot when you hear Ifa laugh. Okay, so it’s possible that Ifa could be a new member of the estate.
Note: Finally! An update after a trillion years! 😭 I swear, 2025 has been nothing but ruthless to me, and it drained me so much that I could not get myself to finish a single fanfic. I have a lot of things in the draft, but I am never satisfied with how they turn out! It's so frustrating. Anyway, my Discord server has officially been reopened! I was supposed to reopen it in early January, but that plan fell through. If you're interested in joining my Discord server, the invite to my Discord server can be found [HERE]! The Discord server invite links will be different every time I post a new fanfic, and these links have expiration dates. Anyway, to all my new and returning readers, keep in mind that I ONLY post on my Tumblr (Genshinluvr), Ko-Fi (Genshinluvr/Aaliah_exo), and my AO3 (Aaliah_exo)! Nowhere else except Tumblr and AO3!
Taglist: @rubyninja1 (I will be making a new and updated taglist very soon 🫡)
Read more of my works on my Grand Masterlist, which contains every masterlist I have created! | Maybe support me by tipping me on Ko-Fi or by reblogging my fanfics! ^^ I will also be posting exclusive fanfics on Ko-Fi as well very soon! I might post all of my stories there, too, but who knows. You can also tip me on Tumblr if you'd like as a way to show support! ^^

Synopsis: Jing Yuan is a bird magnet. As harmless as it sounds, it seems to lead to misunderstandings.
CW: Nothing
HC: Reader works under Yukong. Reader is gender-neutral.
Characters: Jing Yuan, Yukong, Fu Xuan, Mentions of Tingyun and Yanqing
Note: Genshin to Honkai pipeline is real omg. Honestly I am not that interested in Honkai Star Rail or any of the Honkai games but I do play it and let me tell you I love this man. The characters in this game do not miss. Already making drafts for a Sampo fic. My one goal is to max them out. Also anyone interested in Aeons fanfic? Just asking. Anyway, please make sure to like, comment or reblog. Interactions with the post lets it reach a wider audience. Requests are also open! Enjoy.
Jing Yuan was used to the attention given to him, it wasn’t shocking to him. An individual of his status always would draw attention amongst the crowds. However, most people tend to divert their eyes or at least make an effort to pretend they weren’t staring, especially when they weren’t supposed to. It was considered a decent thing to do. However you on the other hand clearly did not understand this concept.
The first time he had caught your eyes, he waited for you to shyly look away like most people did, however to his surprise you kept a stern gaze towards him, refusing to move. It did phase him a bit, how strange that you had no shame to look away knowing that you had been caught. He chuckled to himself, that time he gave you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you felt it was more awkward to look away.
However, the staring continued. You stared at him whenever you had the chance. He could feel your gaze burning from the back of his head. How were you so confident? Does he not scare you? Do you not understand authority? Maybe you just didn’t have the shame to hide the fact that you adored looking at him. He tried not to crack a smile every time he did catch you staring. He didn’t want others to know why he was laughing at himself.
It wasn’t a surprise to him, having people fall for him. Tingyun was already making sales from his looks, so it was clear that many people were head over heels for him. Maybe you were just like them, an admirer who was terrible at keeping a secret. He didn’t mind, he was already used to the attention.
—
“You seem to be distracted these days. Is your age finally catching up to you?” Fu Xuan jabbed. Jing Yuan let out a chuckle “ I don’t know what you mean.” He answered, unphased. Documents were piling up and Yanqing still didn’t have a decent partner to train with, he had too many unnecessary things piling up on his head. Fu Xuan was clearly here to mess with him for letting things go on for this long.
“Don’t try to hide, you have been laughing to yourself or cracking smiles out of the blue! Have you finally lost it?” She asked once more. Honestly not what he had expected her to say. He thought she was here to clown him for not finishing his work on time, he didn’t realise he had got caught. She continued. “If so, I’m willing to take your place any day for your ‘early’ retirement.”
Jing Yuan rolled his eyes, looking back at the screen in front of him. “If you don’t have anything better to do you’re free to leave. My mental state is perfectly fine.” Fu Xuan let out a smirk. “It won’t be for long.”
Jing Yuan turned to her, he didn’t want to give her attention especially when he was this busy, but Fu Xuan was not going to stop fishing for answers. Raising an eyebrow he decided to take the bait.“And what makes you say that?” Fu Xuan let out an almost sinister laugh. Jing Yuan could only frown, he didn’t like the sound of that.
“I recently foresaw a future of yours.” The room felt cold in an instant. Jing Yuan was now fully focused on Fu Xuan, who continued to smirk victoriously. It didn’t seem to be serious but it didn’t seem to be a good thing either. “What did you see?” He asked nervously, he tried his best to hide it, he didn’t need to give Fu Xuan any more openings.
Fu Xuan pretended to think, withholding the information rather than stating it at once. Jing Yuan sighed, of course, Fu Xuan would want to have the high ground. “I’ll repeat, what did you see?” He stated once more, a more serious tone plaguing his words.
Fu Xuan scoffed. “You’re no fun.”
“If it involves me then it involves Xianzhou Luofu and its people. I would rather not be left in the dark about this.” Fu Xuan shrugged. “It isn’t something serious. If it was, I would have told you about it instantly. You know I am not one to take my time.”
“Then why hide it from me?” “Because it’s funny.” Jing Yuan sighed. “Just tell me.”
“Don’t feel like it.” And with that Fu Xuan's hologram disappeared. Jing Yuan huffed, how annoying. It seemed that people around him were forgetting what respect meant.
—
Yukong never made physical trips to meet with Jing Yuan regarding any issues on the Xianzhou Luofu. It was a big ship, and it was a waste of time to constantly travel back and forth when they could communicate via holograms.
However it was always safe to bring confidential documents face to face, a third party might cause leaks. To his surprise, you tagged alongside her during one of their rare trips. However, for once, you didn’t look up to look at him. He tried his best to focus on what Yukong kept saying but his eyes kept wandering back to you. Why were you not looking up? Was it because this was the first time you had seen him face to face? However he didn’t like this, he wished you would just look up like usual.
“Tingyuan couldn’t make it?” He asked, trying to focus the shift on you. You jolted up, now nervously looking at Yukong who also was caught off guard. Yukong looked back at you, before turning back to Jing Yuan trying to seem unphased. “Yeah, she was assigned a task alongside the trailblazers. You had assigned her to them.” She asked.
“Hmm, I did? “ Jing Yuan asked in a playful tone. You still didn’t turn to look at him, now just looking down at the floor to not draw any more attention. He couldn’t hold a smile on his face anymore, he was getting annoyed. Why today of all days you decide not to look at him?
He wanted to see your face properly, not in his hologram form. As advanced as things were in Xianzhou Luofu, when he is in his hologram form he can’t see everyone clearly. It was like being stuck behind a screen. Now that he was finally face-to-face with his ‘staring partner’ he wanted to see what you looked like.
“Well, since things in the Xianzhou Luofu are not settled yet, I would prefer if you could hand me documents face to face from now.” Yukong blinked, before realising what he had stated. “But sir, that would take some time, and I can’t always make trips here when I need to take care of my team.” Jing Yuan tilted his head, pretending to be oblivious to his schemes. “You can just ask Tingyuan, or your companion right next to you. If you trust them to accompany you then I’m certain they can help you bring me these documents. Am I wrong?”
His statement finally made you look up. He believed he was ready to face your gaze, but he was being too cocky it seemed. When he had locked eyes with you he almost looked away with how sudden it was. Your gaze was sharp and strong, just as the times you had looked at him before. You had a poker face, attentive to your work since Jing Yuan had personally entrusted you to do Yukong’s work. It seemed the hologram way of communicating had dulled down the intensity of your gaze full of determination. Jing Yuan didn’t expect to get such a whiplash.
He held his ground, he didn’t need any reason to feel shy now. Fu Xuan’s words started to replay in his head, he wasn’t sure why. You couldn’t be the reason for his downfall, could you? There was no way.
Yukong sighed, interrupting the spiral Jing Yuan had going inside his mind. “Of course. We won’t disappoint you. “ She answered. “I’m glad to hear that.” Jing Yuan smiled, his gaze never leaving you as you did the same.
—
It wasn’t surprising that you made most of the trips. He found out that you were new to the job, at least to Yukong’s sector. Since Tingyuan was busy with the trailblazers and Yukong had her duties to attend to, you ended up being the special courier for any confidential documents. Most of the documents were digitised so your trips weren’t common, but Jing Yuan made it his mission to make sure you somehow ended up in his office.
Was this corruption from the higher-ups? Probably, if anyone knew what he was doing they would think he was bullying you but he didn’t mean any harm. He just likes the mini-staring matches you both have. Not many people look at him with such confidence.
It also didn’t seem to be an issue as it seemed that you liked the job. No matter how many times you were told to bring in documents, you always followed through without complaining. Tingyuan tended to ask for bargains while Yukong would straight up avoid making rounds. You on the other hand would be ready to make a delivery in an instant. It was probably due to the fact you were still new to the job, but he liked to pretend it was because you wanted to see him often.
He smiled to himself thinking about it. He didn’t like how much of a narcissist he was. He knew people loved him but having his delusions of someone liking him more than just the ruler of the Xianzhou Luofu must be his breaking point. Fu Xuan was on to something, you must be his downfall.
—
It was like any other day, you made the delivery and you were going to head back to your station. However, Jing Yuan was getting tired of this. It was any day now that the trailblazers would be done with the Stellaron attacks and he would finally have to step in to fix what was left. This means everything would return to normal and your trips wouldn’t be necessary anymore. All these trips didn’t make you both any closer either, you were keeping a distance between the two of you.
He also noticed how you reduced staring, it seems you had caught on the fact that he knew you were staring. He honestly was surprised you didn’t realise it sooner, it wasn’t like you were hiding it. But now whenever he would catch your eyes you would jolt up as if he caught you doing something horrible. If it was in the past he wouldn’t have minded, but now whenever you looked away he felt frustrated.
As the day was going to end as it usually did, Jing Yuan finally snapped. He needed to change this routine you both had created. “May I ask you a question?” He asked. He caught you so off guard you dropped the documents on the ground. Scattering them all over the floor. In an instant you dropped down, to collect the papers off the ground. He followed suit, trying to help.
“Oh, you don’t need to do that sir!” You try not to stutter. You didn’t expect him to ask you anything. You guys never spoke anymore than anything related to work, so the sudden question caught you off guard. “ Don’t mind me, I just wanted to ask a question. I didn’t think it was that shocking.” He chuckled.
You nervously laugh, continuing to gather all the materials before he could get any more. To your horror, he had already collected most of it. However, the piles of paper were now in a mess, completely unorganised from how it was originally arranged.
“You can sit with me and chat while we organise these.” He stood up smiling, mockingly shaking the documents towards you while you tried not to get embarrassed. “My apologies sir.” You mumble, standing up with the little amount you were able to get. “I’ll forgive you if you answer my questions.” The way he spoke was so calm. He was a ruler for a reason, his voice was loud in battle and comforting to his citizens. You instantly felt at ease when he didn’t seem to mind.
“I’ll take you up on that offer, sir.”
—
When he said questions, he meant a lot of questions. He asked why you chose the job, what you liked, your interests, and your hobbies. He was ticking off everything at this point. You of course answered. The way he articulated the questions and the calm sound of his voice seemed to have entranced you. You were certain if he was a lawyer he would have gotten the answers right out of you in an instant. It was no wonder he was in such a high position.
“You seem to stare a lot don’t you?” A question that you didn’t expect. He smiled, eyes closed ready for an answer. Did he catch you off guard? He hoped so, he wanted to tease you a bit, making you realise that your silly little crush on him was already discovered. Maybe it was sudden but with how truthfully you were answering his questions he didn’t expect you to lie your way out of this.
You could feel the rush of blood on your face. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to stare! It’s just…” you cut yourself off. He patiently waited for your answer. What could it be? Did you like his face? Many people did, it was the reason Tingyuan was making a fortune for so many years. Or perhaps you would be bolder and say you liked his body? His clothes and armour enhanced its appeal. Or maybe his hair? It reminded of a lion’s mane to most and Yanqing would always mention how elegant it looked, even after he had spared the entire day. He wasn’t even sure how it stayed in such luscious conditions.
He tried not to tap the table, eager for your answer. He could hear his heartbeat increase its speed, he didn’t realise how nervous he was. What was it about him that you just couldn’t help but look? He needed to know now.
“ The bird.” It was almost a whisper when you spoke. He wasn’t even sure he heard you properly. “The bird?” He repeated, a bit dumbfounded. You nodded, guilt leaving your body but suddenly feeling sheepish. You can’t believe you were going to admit this.
“ You always have a bird in your hair. It’s so unphased I always wondered whether it was tamed.” You continue to say. You watched Jing Yuan stare at you, unable to speak. You took this as a sign to continue. “Well you see, I love looking at birds. Especially since in Xianzhou Luofu, they are quite rare. But you have one always on your shoulder! So when I first saw it I was so shocked. If you don’t mind me asking, could you tell me what type it is? Is it a Zebra finch? A Waxbill? The red beak makes it a bit prominent but I couldn’t see its feather pattern so I couldn’t tell what type it was.”
As you continued to go on and on about the bird, Jing Yuan was trying his best not to show any signs of embarrassment. He couldn’t believe this. He had thought this entire time you had looked at him due to admiration. Honestly, it was his fault for making up delusions on his own but he didn’t expect this. You were staring at the birds that usually landed on his shoulder and hid around his hair. He was so used to it he completely forgot they even stuck next to him while he worked.
A sudden notification came to your phone which made you stop your little bird talk. You read it and immediately stood up an instance. “Oh no! The time!” You almost shout, your worried gaze not looking away from the phone. You look at Jing Yuan sadly, and he could feel his heart was close to bursting. Not only from his embarrassment but also how unhappy you looked knowing that you would have to depart from him.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t organise all the documents in time. I’ll make it up to you next time sir!” You begin to gather your things and head out. As you near the door you turn back to him shouting. “I apologise if this is inappropriate, but I hope to talk to you again!” You say. You take a bow before turning back and running out the door.
All Jing Yuan could do was stare as you left. Suddenly he could feel all the emotions he had held back to save face flowing out. He slumped on the desk, hands on his face trying to cover his face which was completely red. He could not believe this had happened to him.
He heard a little chirp near his ear. He looked to the side, to see his little bird friend peeping at him in glee. “You did this to me.” He grumbled, glaring at the bird who continued to chirp, almost as if it was laughing at him. Sighing, he slumped back on his chair, trying not to think about what just had happened.
He couldn’t help it though. It made sense now, you probably were curious about the bird, trying to figure out what kind it was. He was the one overthinking it, making up stories in his head where you profess your love to him. No wonder Fu Xuan said what she did. She knew this was going to happen.
He sighed, picking up his little friend off his shoulder onto his hand. After making a mental note on finding a way to get back at Fu Xuan, he began to think about you again. He was already too deep into this, he was going to make you like him back. He stroked the bird’s head as it peeped in delight. He looked down at it as it playfully nipped at his finger.
Another idea popped into his head. The last words you said played in his head again as he stared at the bird who danced around in the palm of his hands. He felt a smile creep on his face.
“Well, at least I can figure out what we are going to be talking about next time we meet.” He chuckled to himself, humming a tune alongside the bird. He was already too deep into this, and he was not going to let you go that easily.
He was going to make you look at him the same way he looked at you, one way or another. Who would have thought a love of birds would lead to this?
Good luck!

I literally cannot believe I have to come back and say this, but I’m genuinely sick and tired of this. First off, someone is going around telling people that I blocked them because they don’t block minors and more wildly, that I search through people’s likes to find minors because I’m jealous of interaction ??? 1) that is literally not what I said so I don’t know why you’re twisting my words and 2) I blocked them because they made a joke about a genshin character that rubbed me wrong because it bordered on a sexual assault joke and it made me uncomfortable, joke or not. Lol. This was literally over a year ago and they’re still going around saying it for some crazy reason.
Secondly, I moved blogs because of the insanity of this one—the drama that people keep dragging me into & the pressure that’s coming from my fics. I know a lot of y’all are cool with waiting but there’s just too many people that get nasty when I don’t update and I’ve lost the motivation for it because of it—sorry about that, maybe one day I’ll come back to it but it won’t be for a while. I turned off asks, they went to my comments. I turned off comments, they went to my Ao3 to harass me there, it’s just nonstop. Not to mention the constant stream of hate and discomfort caused by being dragged into a drama I had NO involvement with + on top of what the blog above is going around spreading for no good reasoning ??
This’ll be my last post here, I just can’t handle people’s childish issues and constant need for drama, not ever but especially not during law school. I wasn’t going to come back at all but now it’s starting to bleed into my new blog which was supposed to be a safe space for me to relax during my second semester + I figured I’d give y’all a proper explanation & goodbye.
To the person that I trusted with my new blog only for you to go around spreading it to people, just know you’re literally the worst type of person lol.
To everyone else that supported me on this blog & through my first sem of law school, perhaps we shall meet again one day 🫡

idk if this was a "popular" post or anything, but this is in reference to a post someone made complaining about how "it's hard to find decent new stuff that isn’t just another smau full of poorly written characters that are nothing like their original personalities." and then they list examples of stereotypes that writers often associate with certain characters.
everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and people have the right to complain about things they don't like. i don't necessarily agree with them but I see why she and a lot of other people would think this way.
the problem I have is that she purposefully uses popular fandom tags on her post. #tokyo rev x reader #jujutsu kaisen #genshin impact, etc-- and of course this would reach writers. i could understand this if he was providing a critique, but this was a complaint (and again there's nothing wrong with complaining)
in an edit of their post, they say that being a blank blog "doesn't mean that they can't give criticism as a reader" which ig isn't wrong, but him complaining about not finding good fics while simultaneously not supporting and sharing the ones he thinks are good doesn't help his point.
people have said this in the reblogs of her post, but you can always tell when someone isn't a writer, or at the very least-- doesn't put themselves in a fanfic writers shoes (imo). people write fanfic for fun, they're not looking for "critique" (unless they ask), and they definitely don't want to go to fandom tags, find a person saying they think that the quality of tumblr writing has declined to wattpad level-- and get insecure of their writing and their smaus
i dont write smut or smaus (but I do plan to), so this post isn't rly targeted towards me. but I am a fanfic writer who does this for fun :) I can only imagine how much it would suck if someone said this but replaced the 'smut part' with a trope I commonly write/associate with a character.
i dont exactly know what the point of this post I wrote, but I know it ends with a psa: you have every right to complain about stuff you don't like, but it shouldn't be at the cost of other people's enjoyment in the fandom. complain, but either tag appropriately or don't tag at all.
also don't send hate to this person if you do find her post. they're stating their opinion and I'm stating mine. have a good day :]

Hello! I read a recent fic done containing soulmates, picks being Ningguang, Lisa, and La Signora. It was written in such a fun way and I loved it. What I loved even more, though, was Jean's appearances and continous help to the reader.
Now, I LOVE Jean. Besides Lumine, Jean is my top genshin girl since the very beginning so seeing her being portrayed being so strong and caring (same way I usually think of her, ofc) made me plead if it would be possible to make a soulmate! (or any kind of fanfic honestly) Jean x reader.
Sorry I am a huge simp for her and this is my first ask ever 😩🙏
YAY an ask! I already have a Jean fic that I posted which is also my latest one but here yah go! Thanks for the ask!

Helping everyone was tiring, even so when she see people who has found their soulmates
She who still has yet to find her other half, the person who should own her heart and become her world
The dull gray scene in her view became a normal routine for her, looking at it while doing her work, while doing her commissions and all her endless work
She who only wants to lay down and rest in the arms of her beloved, but alas faith has not given her that chance, all she could do is wait and pray that her beloved will come soon
But little did she know that a commission will be the reason she can see those beautiful colors surrounding her, feel those warm arms wrapped around her
A new beginning in her life something she is looking forward to welcoming in her not so dull life now
Warnings⚠️: A bit Angst at the start but will get more Fluff at the ending, blood
"That should be the last of it, anything else you need help with Sara?" Jean asked the girl at good hunters after finishing a commission by bringing 5 sacks of ingredients to the restaurant
"No, that's everything" The girl said looking at the sacks that Jean brought "Thanks again for all the help Master Jean! Goodbye!" The girl said enthusiastically to the leaving Grand Master
Looking around the scenery was perfect, the air was fresh and Jean could smell the fresh dandelions, the weather was clear there was no sign of any storm nor rain
It was calming, everything was peaceful, but there was something missing or more like someone is missing, Jean let out a sigh and continued her walk towards the Adventure Guild to take up her other commissions
"Hello Katherine" Jean greeted the receptionist with a smile "Hello to you too, Master Jean" The girl replied with also a smile to Jean "Anymore commissions for me? I am quite free for the day" Jean asked hoping to have one that is outside of the city
"It seems we still have quite a few but most of them requires you to leave the city, will that be alright?" Jean gave a nod to which the girl prepared the details of 4 commissions and started to read them one by one to Jean
"There are 4 commissions in total, one of them you have to go at Dragonspine to deliver some supplies they will be needing" The girl said handing a piece of paper to Jean
"Next you have a commission at Dawn Winery, where you are asked to get rid of some monsters that are terrorizing the crops they have planted, the number of monsters are unknown" Katherine handed another paper to Jean
"Be careful with that commission because they might have some back up" Jean nodded and took the paper "Then your third commission, you are required to assist a group of adventurers in clearing the path that goes to Liyue along the borders"
Katherine handed another paper to Jean and picked up the last one "Your final commission consists of going to Starsnatch Cliff and collecting Cecilia flowers" Katherine said and handed Jean the last paper
"Thank you Katherine, I shall be back once I finished these" Jean said confidence leaking to her voice, she was confident but she did not know why
"Take care and Ad Astra Abyssosque to you Master Jean" Katherine said her farewell to the leaving Acting Grand Master, she noticed her confidence and confusion left the girl
The Jean she usually see taking so many commission put up a brave face but she could see her tiredness and sadness, something Katherine pick up when the Acting Grand Master was near
Jean was quick and efficient in doing her work, she finished her first commission in delivering the suplies with breeze and made quick work of the monsters at Dawn Winery
She moved like the dandelions dancing in the wind, swift and sharp, she was then in her third commission in helping the adventurers from both Liyue and Mondstadt
Looking around Jean can recognize a few of them, like the unluck kid Bennett with his friend and Lisa's student Razor, she could also recognize Mona
From Liyue she could see the Crux captain Beidou, the light-blue haired exorcised boy with his friend, she could also see the famous cook from Liyue, Xianling
But what caught her eye the most was the figure covered in a coat, she could not see their face but something in Jean is telling her that the person is important, but before she could make conversation in a blink of an eye the person then vanished
Jean blinked a couple of times but she could not find the person, she was hoping to see their face, the only thing she could see was the dusty gray scenery in front of her
The horns sounded indicating the beginning of the partnership on clearing a path from the lurking monsters at the borders of both Liyue and Monsadt
Jean knew she had to focus, she could not lose that now, she should only think about the incoming enemies ahead, but why is it that Jean still goes back to the caped person she saw earlier?
Shaking her head Jean snapped out of her thoughts quick enough to see a slime attacking her, dodging in time and preparing a attack to counter the slime
After a few hours of the battle it then ended with Jean only receiving minimal wounds, thought the orders were not as lucky like her and received big cuts and bruises on them
Jean was glad it was finished, she then left when she had her minor wounds checked and bandaged, there was one more commission to finish for the day
Travelling to Starsnatch Cliff her mind drifted back to the hooded person once more, she was not able to see if they were at the clinic due to so many people asking if she was fine
Jean was starting to get frustrated, she was curios and her curiosity is starting to take over her now
Shaking her head she repeated the word's in her head 'I have to stay focus on the mission at hand' Jean continued her walk to her destination with the same person lingering and making their mark to her mind
She still wanted to see them, something in her light up in the sight of the person, it was liked she was being pulled why an invisible forced to that person
She was getting restless but she had to focus or things could go sideways for her mission, even if it was a simple commission about collecting flowers, it could still go haywire along the way
Arriving at Starsnatch Cliff, she started to collect the needed flowers to her commission "Alright I got about 10 now , just need another 10 more to finished this" She said to her self
Continuing her walk and collecting the rest of the flowers she then heard a scream, one agonizing and call for help 'Someone must be in danger!' She thought while dropping her things to the side and running to the direction of the scream
There she saw a young girl from Monsadt, Ally she believe, but she could not think long for the girl once again scream for help "HELP! Anyone pls! HELP ME!" The girl was being attacked by a group of monsters, and they were closing on her quick
"Hold on! I'm coming!" Jean shouted and summoned her sword, the monsters notice of her but only some decided to attack her while the rest closed in on Ally
'There are too many of them, I need to make a path so that she could leave but to do that I need to get closer to her' Jean thought continuously but due to the monsters attacking she was having a hard time doing so
She was continuously using her vision to blow the enemies away from her, but the more she used it the more she started to get tired and and the monsters started to make a pattern to attack her
"Pls, help me!" Ally could merely shout once she reached the tip of Starsnatch Cliff, one more step and she could fall to her death, Jean has to move quick
A shadow passed above of Jean and suddenly a sea of flames surrounded her "What?" Confused a figure drop in front of her and another surge of power was released, this time it was a wave of ice and spikes of ice formed
"Dammit! Was I too late?" The new person said and lifted their arm where Jean could see flames form, it was dark and ominous but in Jean's eyes they were beautiful
"Ashes fall!" The person shouted and the black flames shot out of her hand and into each of the monsters present, all continued to burn to the ground and not ashes even remain
The person started to walk to the girl, Jean could see Ally was terrified about what happened, and seeing the person who eliminated so many monsters in a quick short span of time
Jean despite the pain, endured it and walked to the girl first making the person stopped in their track "Ally are you alright? Sorry I was late" Jean said to the terrified girl
"You seem fine now" The person spoke and by her voice she could hear a woman, looking at the girl who has fallen unconscious, Jean looked at the woman
She could not see her face but she could hear the girl took a deep breath, it made Jean confused why did the woman's breath hitched?
"Your name?" The hooded woman said or mumbled softly "What?" It was soft so Jean was not able to hear her "I asked for you name" The woman said once more, a bit louder now
'Ah, right I have not introduced myself to her just yet' Jean stood up and saluted to her "Forgive me for the late introduction, I am the Acting Grand Master Jean Gunnhildr of the Knight of Favonius" Jean said with a small bow
"Jean" She could hear the soft mumble of her name from the woman in front "What a beautiful name" She added "And who might you be miss?" Jean asked the woman
"Ah right, I am Y/N a passing wanderer" The woman named Y/N pulled their hood and jean saw her face, Jean saw the eyes of the girl and a bust of color engulfed her sight
"You are beautiful, those colors suit you the most" Jean could hear Y/N say softly and lowly, once her vision cleared Jean could see her once dull and gray world is now full of color and and beauty
Jean's eyes landed on Y/N, the woman was tall but Jean was a inch or two taller than her, Jean's eyes landed on the woman's blushing face facing the other way
Jean could see blood on her face but her obsidian eyes are what Jean caught the most attracting, looking her over Jean could see blood all over the woman
Jean could feel pride and happiness engulfed her inside, she found her soulmate, the owner of her heart and the one who will be her world
Her Destined Partner
"Please stop starring, I know my eyes are not common to you and your folk and I am covered in blood" The woman asked Jean and in turn made Jean looked away with a slight blush
Clearing her throat she caught sight of the woman pulling her hood up once more, she wanted to see her eyes once more, but hold back her tongue to ask her
She extended her hand to her soulmate "Seeing that we are soulmates, may I ask for a bit of your time?" Jean asked worried that she might have trouble the other person
"Sure" It was simple and straightforward, an answer Jean was content with, so she picked up Ally and returned to where she left her stuff and started her trek back to the city with her soulmate waling right beside her
Arriving at the city Jean lead her soulmate to the church where they drop of Ally to be treated by the sisters and talked with her own sister
"Big sister! Its nice to see you!" Barbara greeted the blonde and went for a hug "Are you here to get treatment? If so I can help with it!" Barbara offered to her sister
"No, I am not hurt at all, we merely dropped off a girl we saw at Starsnatch Cliff that was surrounded by monsters" Jean explained to her sister "I see, but sister yo said we?" Barbara asked
"Ah yes, Barbara I want yo to meet Y/N" Jean moved to the side and there stood Y/N lost in her own world, this made Jean smile and so she tap the woman on her shoulder to get her attention
"Ah yes? Sorry I was distracted for a moment" Y/N said her hood still covering her face from Barbara "Y/N, this is my sister Barbara, I wanted you to meet her" Jean explained and Y/N only nodded
"I am Y/n, a passing wanderer, A pleasure to meet you miss Barbara" Y/N introduced herself "Big sister, why are you with miss Y/N?" Barbara asked after accepting Y/N's introdction
"Ahh you see Barbara, Y/N here is" Jean was looking for the right words, she was nervous of her sisters reaction, but she was cut off "Ohh are you with her so that she could receive treatment? I can see an awful lot of blood" Barbara exclaimed
"Ah no Barbara" Jean said to her "Then what?" Barbara asked "Y/N is my soulmate Barbara, I meet her at Starsnatch Cliff while rescuing Ally from the monsters" Jean explained
But receive only silence from her sister, this worried Jean "Are you alright Barbara?" Jean asked her sister full of worry and concern "YES!" Barbara suddenly exclaimed with a smile, surprising both Jean and Y/N in the process
"B-barbara?" Jean called out to her sister "Yes! You found your soulmate! I am so happy for you big sis!" Barbara gave her sister a hug and Jean returned it despite being surprised by her sister at first
"Ohh I cant wait!" Barbara said after letting go of Jean and turned to Y/N her sister's soulmate "Y/N" Barbara called out to the woman "Yes?" She answered back to the girl
"Please take care of my sister! And if you are comfortable with it may I see your face?" Barbara asked and this left Y/N stunned "I know that I will only be able to see dull gray but my sister can tell me the colors so that I can imagine it on your face" Barbara said with a wide smile
"Or is it too much?" Barbara said hesitantly when she saw Y/N not move and inch "I am very sorry I must have brought up uncomfortable memories to you, please forgive me" Barbara said and bowed
Stunned Y/N waved her hands in a hurry "No! I-it's fine I was just surprise by your request" Y/N said and pulled down her hood to let Barbara and Jean examine her face on Barbara's request
Amazed Barbara was stuck on her feet examining the dull gray color of Y/N's face "Big sister, can you please tell me the color of her eyes? For some reason I find myself more fascinated in them" Barbara requested to her sister
With a smile Jean explained to Barbara the colors she saw on your face "Her eyes are a beautiful color of obsidian black like the night, her white hair highlights her eyes making it look like the Goddess of the Night is looking down on us" Barbara was fascinated
"Woah really?" She asked her sister "Yes her eyes may not be common but they are very welcome, I can see a sea of stars when I look at them" Jean shared to her sister with a smile
Y/N hearing all of these was left flustered by Jean's words and looked away when Barbara looked at her sister and asked more questions 'Shit! Get your shit together Y/N!' She mentally scolded herself
"Well Barbara, that should be all" Jean said to her sister "But I am afraid we will have to go back and finish some things" Jean told her sister with a sad smile seeing her sister deflate
Y/N took this opportunity to pull up her hood once more to hide not only her eyes but also her blushing face "Alright big sister" Barbara looked at Y/N and smiled "Y/N! Please take care of my sister! She tends to overwork herself to the point of passing out!" Barbara shouted to Y/N
"B-barbara!" Jean scolded her sister "Bye sis! Bye Y/N!" Barbara shouted and left them to tend to the wounded once more, stunned Y/N let out a small laugh making Jean looked at her
"You have a lovely sister" Y/N said with a smile and turned around "Ah, yes I am sorry about her once more" Jean apologized to her about her sisters actions
"Jean, its fine" Jean looked at her soulmate "In truth I find it amusing" Y/N added and started to walk down the stairs "Well then , you said we still have one more stop? Shall we?" Y/N extended her hand to Jean once she reached the third step
"Please don't keep me waiting I do wish to spend time with my soulmate" Y/N said and Jean hurriedly hold Y/N's hand and lead her back to her office with a wide smile
"Then I shall be sure not to keep you waiting anymore" Jean stated making Y/N smile, the wind blew away her hood and Jean who looked back saw her smile
"Thank you" Jean her Y/N whisper softly "I'm your soulmate, its my duty!" Jean stated with confidence making Y/N smile more
This was the happiest day of her life
She found her Destined Partner
Well then this is the end of this wonderful request! Thank you once more for requesting thins I had fun making this
Portraying Jean as confident as I can since I also see her as that in game
Jean is actually one of my favorites healer and 5* character in game and I already have her, just need to build her as a good healer
Thank you once again! If you have any request for me to make feel free to send me an ask I will try my best to get them finished and posted! -Mei

PLEASE share those extraneous details you cut from the Lisa whump we need the lore/headcanons
I liked a lot of them, so, sure? XD A lot were embedded in other parts, so I'll post those parts in full with the extra/parentheticals highlighted.
First, not parentheticals, just the easiest things to chop out of a section that was already prose-heavy when I was trying to also convey urgency. Also a potential theme (learning vs. teaching) that I found interesting enough to chuck wholesale into my fic ideas document for later exploration:
"So when Alice designed her Theater, there was enough resin in it for this to revitalize? Like a tree in a Domain?" Jean asks. Even in the midst of the calm that she refuses to let become terror, Lisa feels a spark of pride. She may not be Jean's teacher in the way she is for Razor and Klee, but seeing someone untutored make connections between the information they're given and what they already know will always give her the same joy. "Yes," she says, in the same tone she would to one of those students, "very good.
and
Two years of helping seal Hermanubis, over and over, until it stopped breaking through to overwhelm Cyno and he could develop his own control. She'd done a great deal of research in those two years. Along with all the other learning she'd been doing at the Akademiya, of course. Sleeping two hours a night, working through every meal, walking about with a book in hand so as not to lose a single second in which she might be able to absorb more knowledge.... An unsustainable pace, but one she had sustained for longer than might seem humanly possible. Even then she had eventually burned out. (She sees herself in Jean, sometimes, young and determined and convinced that if she just keeps going, eventually she'll reach the breakthrough point where all the hard work at last becomes *easy*, and all that sacrifice is redeemed by what she gains.) Only after that catastrophic emotional crash had she learned the joys of relaxing, the delights of taking it slow. And the satisfaction of teaching, so much more rewarding than all that learning had ever been. The pursuit of knowledge requires constant sacrifice; *sharing* knowledge demands nothing, only doubles what is given. She had left her notes for Cyrus when she left the Akademiya, and he and Cyno far surpass her now in their expertise on this subject.
I had a whole thing going about "Vision users die young," based in part on a lore theory that I think I picked up from @chrysoula about Vision-users being (ultimately expendable) ways for Celestia to control/process elemental power, but also 50% a dig at the Genshin devs for refusing to give me any playable Beefy Grandpas or Tough Old Women. I pulled it out because all the references for it were an easy thing to rip for pacing:
Very little magic in the modern era doesn't rely on the elements. Even when scholars speak of "old techniques," they're talking about herbalism, which still involves the elemental affinities of certain plants, or tapping the leylines, which remains an occasional if dangerous recourse for those without Visions but had been much more common when Visions were much more rare. They were, before the Cataclysm. (The Akademiya quietly suppresses discussion of *why*.) But there are even older techniques from before the establishment of the Thrones, some still practiced in Liyue and Inazuma under the guise of traditional healing and martial arts, that draw on another source entirely. Her own lifeforce isn't a price Lisa *wishes* to pay. But it is one she knows how to. And it's one Celestia would always have demanded from her, anyway, for that Vision she's so ambivalent about. (People never seem to notice that they've never met a Vision-bearer who isn't *young*. Lisa has done her best to avoid exerting her power, to avoid paying that price into Celestia's coffers. She doesn't miss the irony now.)
(Jean was predestined to die young the moment her Vision appeared, but she'd been taught long before that to accept it as an honor, if in Mondstadt's defense. She would begrudge Lisa the chance to serve more than she would the risk.) (Lisa was predestined to die young the moment her Vision appeared, and she had recoiled from her fate as soon as she realized that truth. She has no desire to rush towards annihilation, even on Mondstadt's behalf.) (Practically, rationally: if they share the work, *both* of them have a better chance.)
(I do headcanon Lisa as the oldest Mondstadt character by at least 10 years, but mid-to-late-30s is far from old, just puts her that much closer to this theoretical fate.)
and (from Lisa accepting Jean's aid, which happened after the paragraph above in 1.0--moving that to earlier in the ficlet was the other major revision between it and 1.5, and was the reason I wrote that post about twisting Lisa's arm yesterday. I couldn't make her first thought believably be "fine, I'll do this solo" without upping the stakes with something like "Klee's stuck in that," which is a method I already used in the last promptfic, and Jean volunteering way earlier was IC for Jean and fixed that neatly). This whole bit's cut material so I won't color-code here:
Finally, just a bit of speculative magical (and "we don't talk about this in front of Celestia"-themed) worldbuilding that made this paragraph way too chunky:
Sumeran seals tend to use threes (for Dendro, Electro, and Pyro, they say; not for certain trio in their past), Liyue prefers sevens (all seven elements at once grant stability; certainly, with all the adepti also in that court, it has nothing to do with two ruling gods and five generals), and Inazuma likes fives (they're far too secretive to even give their justifications, let alone the historical context behind). Khaenri'ah was emphatically locked into pairs (too gnostic to admit the world has three parts), and Fontaine has a terrible, unstable tendency to use just one anchor-point (that Lisa hopes will change now that it's nearly wiped them out). Mondstadt doesn't have a sealing tradition in the first place as far as the Akademiya is concerned, but Lisa knows better. What else are the Four Winds?
#i ripped like 300 words out in total but a lot of them were just filler that slowed the pacing so i'm not bothering with every line#this is the actual Content#asked and answered#fic nattering#the shape of teyvat#the teaching thing is something i've had simmering in the back of my head as a lisa headcanon already#and now i am thinking. it could be a fic. if i wanted to delve deeper into that notion#...not that i need new fic ideas with my current backlog XD

Introducing myself
Well this feels awkward •ᴗ•
I rarely make posts like these on any website but hey I gotta start somewhere, and having a blog was something that always interested me. Be it a hobby or something I can professionaly work with. And I do love yapping. So that's a big plus
Not but fr, who am I you might ask? Why am I introducing myself to the tumblr void?
Truth be told I am a silly little writer. Currently I post on A03 since I am hyperfixated on Genshin Impact, and I love love love writing. In fact I have wrote a couple of series now. Word count can reach up to 150k words. Crazy stuff.
Here are some fics I wrote that you might recognize or enjoy if you feel like looking into them!
A Puppet's Heart series
A series of 3 main books and one extra short fic, focused on Scaramouche x reader, sprinkle of Cynonari, and exploring friendships/tension between Wanderer, Cyno, Collei and Tighnari
Canon-compliant
<𝟑 The main 3 stories:
Lotus and it's Thorns
Blossom of the Divine
The Withered in Bloom
<𝟑 Extras/short fics (be warned that the second one is a smut)
1. Dendrobiums and Mourning Flowers
2. Darling (Don't order me around)
You can read the series here: Click me
A Loving Promise Series
A work-in-progress series, focused on Childe x reader, in which Childe is a bit yandere (ok maybe a lot yandere) and forced marriage is a big thing. Childe's lore is very impactful here, especially abyss stuff
Canon-compliant, will have multiple parts of the series
The Main story:
Ornament of Heart
You can read the series here: Click me
The Ghost of Inazuma
A standalone fic, focused on Kazuha x Kazuha's friend (Tomo) and detective Heziou. In this one Kazuha has a side-hustle as an assassin and things get very heated when the Tenryou comission starts hunting him down. Heizou is among them, of course, as a lead detective
You can the book here: Click me
Ambush and Revenge
A short whump fic centered around Heizou and the dangers of his job. He gets ambushed and hurt, and explores a bit of Heizou's friendship with Kujou Sara
You can read the fic here: Click me
Murder and Drama - A Midnight Case
A short detective fic about Heizou and the Arataki Gang, mostly focused on humor (wow me not writing hardcore angst?? shocker). The Arataki Gang gets framed for murder and Heizou has to solve the case with Itto's brilliant help (Itto lies when he is nervous).
You can read the fic here: Click me
In conclusion
As you can see I write a lot and yapp a lot, and if you enjoy my writing feel free to follow my tumblr blog. I want to write more and am thinking about opening comissions. So if you enjoy my writing style and ideas I would be more than happy to take requests! I generally have a lot of ideas/headcannons and thoughts to share about Genshin and their characters, even if its not related to my fics. Always happy to discuss stuff with people so don't be scared to share your thoughts or questions!
That is all for now! Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction <3

Why you should not trust graphs
I'm working on a little followup to my top video game fandoms on AO3 project, digging into the ratings, relationship types, etc. within some of those fandoms.
Last week I grabbed all the numbers off of AO3 and put them in a spreadsheet, and then left off because I was sleepy. Today I sat down to make the graphs out of those numbers. I went to do relationship types and got this:
That cannot possibly be right, I read FFXIV fic and I've dug into the stats before, I know F/M and M/M are an almost even split.
If I wasn't paying attention to what the graph actually shows and just trusted my own work, or if I didn't know the fandom well enough to know that looked wrong, I could have just thrown that on Tumblr and let everyone marvel at such an odd outlier of a fandom.
What had happened is some sheet sorting I did last week, while sleepy, hadn't worked properly, and my labels got shuffled. The actual spread for this fandom is:
M/M (16863) F/M (13736) Gen (10641) Multi (3273) F/F (3268) Other (3252)
It actually is an outlier! But my graph was just plain wrong because I'd goofed.
Then as I was checking all my data to make sure nothing else got shuffled, I realised that I'd accidentally grabbed the full archive numbers for Genshin Impact when I'd meant to grab numbers only for fic created before Jan 1st. All the numbers for that fandom were slightly larger than they should have been. Two weeks' worth of fic is not enough to throw off a graph in a fandom that huge, but my numbers were not what I said they were. If I had posted those in graph form on Tumblr, I'd have been telling you untrue things, but the difference would be small enough that no one would catch it from the graphs themselves, they'd have to actually check my work.
Please check my work.
If Genshin Impact has 72003 or 71957 works on AO3 with the Chose Not To Warn tag published before Jan 1 2025 is not a big deal in grand scheme of things, but if you're looking at a graph about something serious like climate change or public health, small differences in figures like that and data labeled for the wrong week does matter.
Graphs are a great way to understand a bunch of numbers, but you cannot just trust that they show what they say they show. Sometimes people screw up, sometimes programs screw up, and sometimes people are lying to you on purpose.
Click through to AO3 and glance at the stats yourselves. Ask for sources if the person showing you the graph doesn't share them. Check people's work.

Smug-a-Saurian(s)
Pairings: Various Genshin Men x Isekai'd!Reader
Summary: After the failed tour of Natlan, you decided to return to Natlan to complete the tour! However, you end up bringing something back to the abode. Was it intentional? No. Do you plan on letting it happen? Sort of, but you knew better.
Note: This is a spin-off mini-fic of The Nation of War fanfic! I was going to write something longer, but due to my impending night shift for work (tomorrow), I was not able to. My brain has been in shambles the entire week due to work preparations and the passing of Liam Payne (my 11-year-old self is incredibly heartbroken and in tears). Idk how my new work schedule is going to impact my updates, but we'll have to wait and see :< Anyway! I don't post anywhere else but on Tumblr (Genshinluvr), Ko-Fi (also Genshinluvr/Aaliah_exo), and AO3 (Aaliah_exo).
Warnings: I wrote this with a lot going on in my head, so this fic is most definitely ass 🥲
Word Count: 3k
It’s a peaceful day at the abode, and everyone is lounging in the estate, keeping to themselves and occasionally chatting with one another. It’s a quarter to eleven in the morning, and yet the others haven’t seen you at all today. Your bedroom is vacant, and your shoes aren’t on the shoe rack close to the front door, so it’s safe to assume that you’re currently out and about somewhere in Teyvat. Do they know where you’re at? Not really, but they assume it’s Natlan since Mualani and Kachina wanted to hang out with you today.
“Who gets up that early to hang out with people?” Itto mumbles, waddling into the living room with a dramatic sigh. “I miss my Onikabuto booboo bear!” He pouts, plopping on the couch beside a mildly miffed Scaramouche.
“If I had to deal with you every day, I would leave to hang out with other people at the ass crack of dawn, too,” Scaramouche grumbles, crossing his arms over his chest.
Itto and Scaramouche glare at one another while Ayato sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Footsteps echo throughout the estate as Gorou walks down the stairs, rubbing the back of his head. The tension once present in the living room evaporates as the men wait for Gorou to speak.
About ten minutes ago— it’s probably less than that— Gorou volunteered to check your room to see if there’s a way to pinpoint when you left the estate. The men have nothing against you leaving the estate and abode whenever you want, but you leaving the abode at an ungodly time is something you would never do (unless you have something really important to do, like having to show up to the Akademiya to prepare for your research presentation).
Thoma stands up, approaching Gorou anxiously. “So? Did you find anything?”
Gorou sighs, propping his hands on his hips. “Their bed is moderately warm, so that means [Y/N] didn’t leave the estate at the crack of dawn. However…” Gorou trails off, stroking his chin. “That makes me wonder how they were able to leave the abode undetected.”
Again, the men aren’t against you leaving the estate and abode alone. You have as much freedom as any other person on Teyvat. What they’re concerned about is your safety— totally not because they’re clingy and want to be around you 24/7! However, they can’t really speak on Zhongli and Neuvillette’s behalf, considering the two men became quite clingy (well, even clingier than usual) after the unsuccessful tour around the Nation of War.
Paimon sighs, rolling her eyes. “Don’t worry about them! I’m sure they’re fine somewhere! If you guys are worried, why not communicate your worries with them? Isn’t that how relationships work?” Paimon asks, propping her hands on her hips as she bobs up and down in the air.
Everyone in the room nods, agreeing with Paimon. While they could communicate their worries to you, they don’t want to put any pressure on you after voicing their concerns. Plus, what’s there to worry about? You’re hanging out with your new friends! It’s not like you’re going to be smuggling a wild animal back to the abode or doing some illegal activities while on Teyvat, right?
Meanwhile…
You stand outside the teapot, debating on what you’re going to do with an army of issues before you. You bite your nails and glance at the teapot, then at the Saurian Whelps standing before you, staring at you expectantly. You’re so fucked. You went to Natlan to hang out with Mualani and Kachina to complete the tour of Natlan— of course, Kinich and Ajaw did show up for the first thirty minutes, but they left because Ajaw was being a little shithead that Kinich had to leave earlier than planned.
After hanging out with Kachina and Mualani, you head back to where the teapot is resting. Dakarai is the one to walk you back to the abode because he’s an absolute sweetheart and was eager to spend some extra time with you after not seeing you for who knows how long. However, on your way back to the teapot with Dakarai, you and the Tepetlisaur Whelp failed to notice certain creatures following from a safe distance. When you notice them, it is already too late to try to outrun them because you and Dakarai are surrounded by Saurian Whelps. Dakarai stands before you, curiously inspecting the other Saurians surrounding both of you.
“I don’t think I can bring you guys with me,” you say, tapping your feet on the ground as you try to remain strong in the face of Saurian Whelps.
The Tepetlisaur Whelp tilts its head, gazing at you curiously. You can see a visible question mark appearing above its head. You sigh, rubbing your temples. You’re trying your best to hold in your squeals. The Saurian Whelps are too cute, but at the same time, you cannot bring them into the abode. Saurians are from Natlan, and you don’t know if they can survive in an environment that isn’t Natlan. But how can you not bring them back to the abode with you!? Look at their little faces! They’re literally giving you the puppy dog eyes, almost as if they’re begging you to take them with you!
You turn to look at Dakarai— Aether and Paimon’s Tepetlisaur Whelp companion. “What do I do, Dakarai? I can’t bring them back because I don’t think the abode is a suitable environment for them.”
Dakarai roars in response.
You shake your head. “I don’t know if the abode is suitable for you either, Dakarai. But I guess we won’t know unless we try, right?”
Dakarai roars again in response, flailing his arms around cutely. You hold back a squeal and pat Dakarai’s head instead, hoping that’ll stop you from wanting to bring him into a tight hug. The other Saurians around you and Dakarai roar and whine in response, almost as if they’re demanding you to give them attention.
The Yumkasaur Whelp hops toward you, tilting its head to the side with a questioning gaze. “?”
You shut your eyes and turn around, hoping that will make you become invisible to the eyes of the Saurian Whelps (it doesn’t). Surely, you can enter the abode without the Saurians trying to go with you, right?
The warm sun of Natlan beams down at you, heating the back of your head the longer you have your back facing the Saurian Whelps. If only Mualani, Kachina, and Kinich were here with you, then maybe they could lure the Saurians away. Unfortunately, it’s you against the world and the Saurian Whelps. Of course, Dakarai is with you, but you’re sure that he wants to come along with you to the abode.
“Fuck it!” Without thinking, you touch the teapot with your eyes closed, not wanting to see the outcome of what you just did.
When you’re finally in the abode, you open your eyes to see the beautiful estate where you and your beloveds reside. You nearly sigh in relief, glad that you’re finally home and can finally take a nap after who knows how long you’ve been gone. You stretch as you walk to the front door of the estate, listening to the birds chirping in the distance.
Just as you reach for the doorknob, the door swings open, and you come face-to-face with Diluc, who sighs in relief when you two make eye contact. Without hesitating, Diluc pulls you into his arms and buries his face into your hair.
“Welcome home, angel. We’ve been worried about you,” Diluc whispers into your hair, tightening his arms around you.
You peek at Diluc, wrapping your arms around him. “Sorry for worrying you and everyone else. I was in Natlan completing the tour with Mualani and Kachina!” You say, pulling away from the hug. “Kinich and Ajaw were also there, but they left early because Ajaw was being mean.” You scratch the back of your head.
You and Diluc walk into the estate, where the others are waiting for you. The minute twenty-seven pairs of eyes land on you, everyone stands up and nearly lunges at you. The first person to get to you is, of course, Childe. The man has his arms wrapped around your shoulders, rubbing his cheek up against yours.
“Snookums!!! I haven’t seen you at all today, and this is how you greet me!?” Childe exclaims, pouting at you.
You pat Childe’s head, letting him cling to you. “I didn’t even get to greet you today, Childe. In fact, I barely entered the living room, and you’re already on me.” You reply, poking his cheek.
After coaxing Childe to release you from his iron grip, Childe reluctantly releases you after guiding you to the couch. Zhongli walks over to you, handing you a cup of tea. You mouthed a ‘thank you’ to Zhongli before taking a sip of the warm drink.
Heizou sits across from you, bouncing his right leg with excitement as he leans forward. “So? How was Natlan? Did you see anything cool or interesting there?” His gorgeous eyes shimmer with curiosity.
You nod, taking another sip of your tea as Neuvillette holds out a plate of macaroons toward you. You take a pink macaroon from the plate and take a bite of the sweet treat. Now that you think about it… you didn’t have breakfast before leaving for Natlan— nor did you eat anything while in Natlan. Then again, you didn’t feel hungry because you were so focused on exploring the new region with your new friends.
You eating one macaroon ended up being the entire plate of macaroons. Neuvillette looks almost horrified as he watches you scarf down the sweet treats within five minutes. Wriothesley chuckles and pats your head, watching you happily sip your tea afterward.
“You’re quite hungry, aren’t you? Don’t tell me your tour guides didn’t take you out to eat,” Wriothesley teases, wiping the crumb from the corner of your mouth with his thumb.
You lick your lips and press your lips into a thin line before answering, “They didn’t, but that’s because I was so engrossed in wanting to explore the region that I completely forgot about needing to eat. But! But… I wasn’t feeling hungry at that time.”
Xiao suddenly appears beside you, his eyebrows furrowing. “You didn’t see that Kinich person, did you? I don’t like him,” Xiao states, crossing his arms over his chest before turning his head away from you.
You blink at Xiao, unsure of how to answer him. You technically did see Kinich, but again, it was only for a brief moment because of Ajaw’s lack of behavior.
“Kinich and Ajaw were at the tour, but they left early! It was just me, Mualani, and Kachina! Oh! And Dakarai!” You reply, nodding.
Xiao huffs, still not pleased to hear your response. Ever since the day of the failed tour around Natlan, Xiao has been voicing his distaste for Kinich’s relic companion. More so, the relic’s unnecessary and rude comments are aimed at you. If Ajaw isn’t making fun of you, he’s making fun of the men and their taste in a partner— or the lack of taste. You appreciate the men coming to your defense, but Ajaw’s comment doesn’t hurt you as much as it should. The relic reminds you of a younger sibling who loves roasting their siblings. Or the spoiled youngest child who gets what they want no matter what— that is what Ajaw reminds you of.
“Anyway, I’m finally home now, and we can relax in the living room together!” You say, placing the half-empty teacup on the coffee table.
You lean back on the couch and yawn; the urge to take a nap is slowly taking over. Before Childe can get the chance to have you snuggle up against him, Lyney tugs you in his direction and has you resting your head on his chest. Childe grumbles, shooting a glare in Lyney’s direction, only to receive a shit-eating grin from him.
Tighnari and Gorou’s ears twitch at a strange sound. The two men lock gazes, not saying a word. Everyone in the room is migrating to where you’re sitting while both Tighnari and Gorou remain standing in their spots. Gorou points at the entrance, wordlessly asking if Tighnari heard the same thing as he did. Tighnari nods, confirming Gorou’s suspicion.
You peek from Lyney’s chest, rubbing your eyes with the heel of your hand. “Tighnari? Gorou? Are you guys okay?”
Gorou and Tighnari stare at you. Tighnari smiles and nods. “Yes, we’re okay! But do you guys hear that?”
Everyone falls silent, trying to listen for whatever Tighnari and Gorou supposedly heard. Coming from the entrance of the estate, if you listen closely, you can hear faint scratching. It’s almost like something is trying to burrow into the floor of the estate but is unable to. Then, the sound of a familiar roar snaps you out of your sleepy haze. You sit up, looking around frantically at everyone in the room.
“Oh, no. Don’t tell me…” you trail off, getting up from the couch and making your way to the front door.
Dainsleif raises his eyebrows at you. “[Y/N]... do you have something you want to tell us?”
You nervously laugh, “I have no idea what you guys are implying.”
It’s a lie. You actually do know what they’re implying, but you’re really hoping that whatever you assume is trying to burrow under the estate is the complete opposite of what you’re actively trying to avoid.
Before you can reach the door, Al Haitham wraps his arms around your waist while Kaveh walks to the door to see what the commotion is. When the door swings wide open, all you see is a small army of Saurian Whelps at the entrance.
“Dear Archons…” you whisper, covering your mouth.
Kaveh looks at you with wide eyes. “Did you smuggle Saurian Whelps into the abode!?” He demands, crossing his arms over his chest. “Is that why you were out in Natlan for so long?!”
Al Haitham leans over and stares at your face for a moment. You can’t help but feel like a specimen being examined by scientists with the way Al Haitham’s looking at you. Archons, you can just die right now.
Al Haitham sighs, shaking his head. “Given their facial expression, I highly doubt they smuggled Saurians into the abode. However, it seems like [Y/N] was very aware of the Saurian Whelps following them to the abode.”
You hear a small roar coming from the entrance. Your head perks up, and you see Dakarai at the entrance. When making eye contact with you, Dakarai shakes with excitement and waves at you before barreling past Kaveh and toward you.
“Dakarai! It’s good to see you again!” Paimon exclaims happily, waving at the Tepetlisaur Whelp.
After seeing Dakarai enter the estate with ease, the other Saurian Whelps follow not long after. The Saurian Whelps surround you and Al Haitham, roaring and mewing with excitement. You go limp in Al Haitham’s arms, sighing in defeat.
So much for returning to the abode without the Saurians coming along; it’s not like you’re against the Saurians becoming residents of the beautiful abode that you share with the loves of your life. However, the people who do mind are your beloveds, and seeing the looks on their faces is concerning.
The majority of them look baffled, and then there’s Zhongli and Neuvillette. While they’re both masters of masking their emotions (most of the time), you can see slight annoyance on their faces. The once clear sunny skies of the abode have quickly turned to a dark gray sky with thunder crackling in the distance.
Kaeya snorts, shaking his head. “Perhaps [Y/N] wanting to complete this tour around Natlan is another excuse for them to see the Saurian Whelps,” Kaeya teases, pinching your cheeks with a smirk.
Zhongli pinches the bridge of his nose. “We need to have a serious conversation about smuggling creatures into the abode, dearest. While I understand that is not your intention, you still manage to unintentionally bring a wild animal to the estate.”
You open your mouth to protest, but seeing the looks on other people’s faces makes you shut your mouth. The thunder in the distance grows louder and louder with each passing minute. You look at Neuvillette, who casually tucks his hair behind his ears, trying to act nonchalant about the entire situation.
You squeak, “Neuvillette?”
Neuvillette clears his throat. “I agree with Zhongli. We need to have a serious conversation about this situation. While it’s not your intention to bring back fifteen wild Saurian Whelps to the abode, they are here illegally.”
Oh, shit. For once, Neuvillette isn’t calling Zhongli Deus Auri. You’re fucked. You’re going to get scolded by Zhongli and Neuvillette for unintentionally smuggling Saurians into the abode. The Saurian Whelps whimper, huddling close to you while shivering with fear the longer Zhongli and Neuvillette furrow their eyebrows.
You raise an index finger. “Before you guys scold me for something I didn’t do intentionally… can we pretty please keep the Saurian Whelps? Maybe we can get a license? I don’t know how it works in Natlan, but I can do my research, and then maybe, just maybe, we can let them live in the abode?”
The glares you receive from Zhongli and Neuvillette are bone-chilling, sending shivers down your spine. You sigh in defeat, pouting. You slowly turn to the Saurian Whelps, trying not to melt under the puppy dog eyes the Saurian Whelps are giving you. So much for trying to convince your beloveds to let you keep Saurians in the abode.
“If I can’t have Saurian Whelps in the abode, then can we have Ajaw instead?” You joke.
“Absolutely not.”
“Are you crazy?”
You pat the top of Dakarai’s head as he continues to examine his surroundings. If you can’t have an army of Saurian Whelps in the abode, will they make an exception for Dakarai? After all, he is Aether and Paimon’s Saurian companion.
Note: I just fell to my knees. hiii aphe i wanted to ask this before i lost the courage so here goes lol
i rlly wanna start writing fics with canon characters and maybe try joing the painfullg small platonic genshin x reader community, but im both for some reasons too embarrassed to write (dont ask i genuinely dont know why, and its only for writing, i love sharing my art) and im not too sure where to start. so i was wondering if you had any advice on how to start writing/tips for writing in general?
HI HELLO of course i have tips 🤭🙏 i won't ask why you feel that way, but i will tell you that feeling like that is really common among emerging writers. it's something i've seen quite often so you're definitely not alone in feeling that way! now, as for my advice...
even if you think it's bad, do your best to get all your thoughts out and onto your page or document. get a beta reader if you're especially concerned about conventions (but don't stress about it too much). this is the phase of writing that i like to call the word vomit phase; nothing makes sense to anyone other than you at this point and that's exactly how it is meant to be. it's important that you don't fixate on your sentences too deeply in this beginning phase because then you might lose motivation, so worry about corrections later down the line in editing.
figure out what point of view feels most comfortable for you. especially important if you plan on joining the reader-insert community. are you a second person pov ("you/yours") kind of writer, as most are? or do you prefer third person pov ("they/theirs/she/hers/he/his")? it just kind of helps to know what you feel most comfortable with, i think, because then you can practice with that and later work on venturing outside of your comfort zone.
write often. one sentence or one hundred sentences a day. it doesn't matter, but write, and do it often. don't feel pressured to actually finish anything all that often, but make sure you're at least adding a few words here and there in a project of yours as often as possible.
read often. this is equally as important as writing often. identify what you like the most about others' writing styles and try to reflect that in your own writing. no, it isn't copying and yes, it is perfectly acceptable; this is how the most talented writers (and even artists in general imo?) learn—through observation. anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about fr. 🙏
try to join networks once you're more comfortable posting your writing. hypocritical ass tip, to be honest, because i've recently been having a shy streak making it hard for me to work up the confidence to join new networks... but nevertheless, do as i say, not as i do. networks are a good place to find community and you might even find people who are willing to offer constructive criticism that helps you improve!
have patience and keep practicing. you may or may not be satisfied with the quality of your writing at first, and it's okay if you aren't, but it's important to not be discouraged by that and to keep working at it. there may also be periods where you just don't like your writing at all; it happens to the best of us and it's important to try not to get too frustrated with yourself over it.
character studies are important. get to know the character or characters you are writing for. it's good to look at voice lines or dialogue to see how they talk and act. it helps a lot, i think! and it helps even more to explore their character in your writing. what motivates them? what are they afraid of? why are they the way they are? important questions to answer, and answering them will help you get to know the character you're writing about.
overall, posting writing is just like sharing art. you'll have to have patience when it comes to finding your target audience (...it has taken me FOREVER and my "target audience" is lowkey just my mutuals tbh) and finding your people, but you will eventually.

When your boss and his "friend" are too lovey dovey
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Pairing: Tartaglia | Childe x Zhongli
Premise: In which, Ekaterina makes the mistake of posting about her boss and his "friend", and the entire Liyue goes crazy
A/N: This is a social media au fic cross posted from my ao3! which you can read here
.
chapter 1
.
Ekaterina . @ katyaaa
My boss and his “friend” better hook up, or I’ll seriously kill someone. How is it possible to not notice the heart eyes your “friend” looks at you with, for like every time you talk??!?? 2 years. It’s been 2 years since both Master Childe and Mr. Zhongli have been dancing around each other. 2 YEARS!!!!
And just now… You literally won’t believe the level of PDA I had to witness. Mr. Zhongli lent his coat to Master Childe because his official uniform is too “risque” and “insufficient” for Liyue’s winter.
It’s not even 9 am yet… I need coffee for this shit.

Ekaterina stares at her phone in horror as the notifications from her socials go blasting off every- freaking- second. Not to mention, the weird, suspicious and vague “mission” about digging more information on her boss and his “friend”
Ugh. Why is she the one who has to suffer?
.
chapter 2
.
First thing Ekaterina does is to mute her socials. The constant pinging of the notifications started to annoy her and it might overheat her phone too.
“-terina”
She shouldn’t have posted about her boss. Worst decision she ever made in her entire life- well… not exactly the worst but definitely ranks up high somewhere in the regrets list.
“Ekaterina?”
But to be fair, it was getting on her nerves recently, since Mr. Zhongli got very bold with his affection towards Master Childe recently, and well… her boss being the oblivious and dense person he is, hasn’t even noticed the advances, and instead he just shoots his “friend” an extremely blushy smil-
Woah —
Something- no - a pair of hands grab Ekaterina’s shoulders and shake the living soul out of her body. “Oww.”
“Katya! Come on! I’ve been calling your name so many times now. Where is your mind at?” Nadia, one of her colleagues and friend, stares at her with concern.
“Sorry,” Ekaterina replies, pushing her hair back. “Was thinking…”
“Is it the new mission?”
“Yeah.”
She shoots Ekaterina a pitiful look before handing her a cup of coffee. “Better start the hustle then. Call me or the others if you need help. And boy, we have a lot of work cut out for us.” Nadia ushers her away to her office, “Go, go, time is mora. Don’t waste it.”
With that, the door to her office closes. Ekaterina places her coffee on the table and pulls out her chair, before remembering to check her phone.

Back to regretting my life choices, I guess.
It took about a week to stalk gather intel on Master Childe and Mr. Zhongli’s time together. Stacks of brown envelopes and manila folders, labelled as “CONFIDENTIAL : FATUI ONLY” covered the entire top of Ekaterina’s dining table (scouring over reports about a harbinger’s rendezvous with a funeral consultant during working hours would have been too much on the nose)
The mission became a joint effort between her and other agents working at the Northland Bank. It was found out on their first day, that it wasn’t an easy task observing their extremely lovey dovey targets… The PDA displayed by them was too much (it was lethal to the agents’ health to watch them longer than an hour).
As the mission is classified to be confidential, and specially ordered by her majesty, Ekaterina and the agents couldn’t take any risks to get information leaked about whatever the heck they were doing. So, everyone opted for hard copy reports which could be destroyed once it fulfilled its use.
But no one expected it to be a massive headache as Ekaterina and her colleagues went through each one of them.
“When will this end?! There’s too many,” Felix breaks the silence with a groan, then slams his head down on the table.
“I feel like I’ve already read the same report a million times now, just worded differently.” Vlad rubs his eyes with a heavy sigh. “Every single day, they eat lunch together at Chef Mao’s, go to Yun Jin’s plays, or sometimes to Third-Round Knockout and finally crash at either one’s home for dinner, did I get that right?”
“You’re correct, except for one thing. Everything and everything is paid by Lord Tartaglia,” Felix responded, seemingly recovered from his exhaustion.
Everyone hums in union.
To be fair though, the mora used by Master Childe on his outings weren’t really his, but Lord Pantalone’s. Hell, even Ekaterina would exploit 9th Harbringer’s mora (if she had a higher standing in the fatui, of course)
“Lets not forget these.” With the most deadpan expression, Vlad tosses pictures of the “dates” their boss and his “friend” had, but many many cropped pictures of Master Childe’s chest framed perfectly by his leather harness, stood out from the stack.
“Who took these?” and “Why?” was left unsaid amongst them all.
Nadia choked suspiciously on air just then. Nervously shifting her eyes around.
Thinking to save her friend from embarrassment, Ekaterina tries to change the subject. “Ahem, anyway, since all the reports are basically the same, let’s just summarise it.”
“Umm something along the lines of … Master Childe is a sugar daddy for Mr. Zhongli and they act like a married couple?” Felix says while rubbing his chin in deep thought.
“Let's… At least try to rephrase our wording, not so straightforward.” Vlad smiles, or at least tries to.

Meanwhile, in the privacy of Zhongli’s home, an elegantly written note addressed not to Zhongli, but Morax, materialises right in front of him.
“You shameless old dragon, get your broke ass to Snezhnaya now! We need to talk”
Never in his life did Childe feel as nervous and scared until today. He was shaking in his boots as he looked back and forth between her majesty and Mr. Zhongli (alternatively Rex Lapis, as he just found out… but that can be discussed later). He didn’t think that he’d get summoned by The Tsaritsa nor did he expect Mr. Zhongli, who was supposed to be in Liyue doing his job, to be invited to her majesty’s garden for tea.
Tea? Nope this isn’t tea, this is basically an interrogation session!
“Now, let me get this straight. You gave the boy a pair of marriage chopsticks and he accepted it?” Tsaritsa raised her teacup to her scowling lips slowly.
Hold on, wait a minute… Marriage chopsticks?
“That is correct–”
“And you thought that my youngest, born and raised in Snezhnaya would understand the meaning behind this act? You didn’t think this through did you, Morax? How embarrassing, I suppose Barbatos is still right, you ARE a stone blockhead.”
Mr. Zhongli coughed discreetly to disguise his embarrassment, before taking a sip from his cup, “Now please, Tsaritsa, there’s no need to chastise me for it.”
“I must, with how you shamelessly court my youngest Harbinger without my knowledge.” Tsaritsa’s eyes narrow down at Zhongli, like a mother ready to scold.
Childe watches the entire exchange in shock– courting ? Mr. Zhongli and courting ? Just what in Celestia is happening ? He must have looked like a dumbfounded monkey, staring at them, until her majesty’s words interrupt his inner turmoil.
“Well,” she says curtly “Has the wedding date been set? If not, I shall take care of it.”
Sputtering and hacking on his tea, Childe replied, “W-What!??”
.
Bonus scene
“Lord Tartaglia! Congratulations, we heard you’re getting married–”
“My my! What good news! I can feel the tears of joy in my eyes already”
“How shocking… It feels as if just yesterday you were but a little boy running around the palace”

Can I ask your top favorite fics that you've written (feel free how much that you want to list)? Why they're special to you? Is there a specific inspiration when you wrote them? Thanks 🌻
okay, finally answering this. this made me realize I have 39 fics on my AO3 already. how time flies...
gonna go with a 5+1 trope here. 5 favorite fics I've written + 1 that hasn't been posted
staccato (twewy) - sometimes there are themes, motifs, tropes, etc. that a writer will come back to over and over again. if you're lucky, you can pinpoint which piece of writing started all of this, and what every other piece of writing written since then is responding to or conversing with. this is that fic for me. this is old. it's from 2012. it's what got me started writing more experimentally. yeah I can write a straightforward story, but I also really like writing non-linear stories with unreliable narrators and ambiguous elements (either something to do with identity/memory/time messing up the narrative; for staccato's case, it's memory). it took me a while since writing this to actually understand that's what I like writing though, but this is definitely the seed from which my current writing style sprung from. for that reason, it's a very special fic to me. it's formative to my writing journey.
[h]eretic (nier automata) - (david lynch voice) "the film is the talking" but apply it to fic. it's 374 words. someone commented, "I like it when a work is short but gets to the point. This was powerful." so I accomplished what I wanted. this is my hemingway six-word story flash fiction moment 👍
time is a vinyl record (genshin impact) - I haven't continued this because it's a high effort fic to write and I just don't have the writing stamina for it right now. you can see how I'm very excited about it though. I like it because I get to play around with formatting a lot, to the point where I now maintain a separate workskin demo for formatting fics. so I enjoyed that process of it. it's also got time travel shenanigans, science is magic is science stuff. it's easier to show you pictures of why this fic is so high effort for me (see below). it's a "mixed media" fic, and requires three levels of research (travel research, because the characters travel the world. science research, because it's got spacetime shenanigans. and archival research, as in "what do archivists do and how do they archive"). so yeah. high concept, don't have the brain space for it yet to continue, but I'm very fond of it.
the gardener who only collects seeds (genshin impact) - another time travel fic. time loop one, to be precise. this is the fic where, as I was writing it, I realized, oh. this is staccato all over again. the plot is different, the fandom is different, but stylistically and thematically, it's staccato in a different font. or rather, the refinement of the je ne sais quois that staccato started. this will keep happening in other fics, such as in re:flect. re/fract. (which uses identity issues instead of time travel as the ambiguous narrative element). everything goes back to staccato. that said, a longer postscript of gardener can be found here if you want to know how it was written/conceptualized/etc.
AZAZEL (danganronpa V3) - I usually write for small fandoms or rare(ish) pairs (relatively speaking), so this is the first time I posted a fic where it got so many comments and kudos so fast (relative to my other fics). I didn't think people still regularly check the saiouma tag in 2024? so the response just blew me away. I enjoyed writing a casefic from my experience writing another fic that's not on this list, so that's what compels me about writing azazel. the mystery writing. but also! I am a huge fan of role reversal fics because it really pushes the envelope with character arcs, and this is kinda like that. I'm a slow writer, but I'm still writing the second chapter. additional thoughts on themes, etc can be found here. also, I guess this fic felt like a milestone for me, because I finally got over my word count worries. it's my fic, so I get to say it's totally okay to post 20k words for one chapter. and I'm currently of the mindset that each chapter of this fic will probably have around the same word count. if anyone reading this is a reader of azazel, uhhhhh. that's partially why I'm slow to update, but I'm also just slow in general.
+1: The Halting Problem (sgdlr): you said "written" and technically I have a WIP that's partially written (16k words and counting). it's just not posted. that counts, right? this is my favorite fic to write atm. the halting problem is a set of two fics (RE:cursion and async/await) that make up one whole story. they're being written in such a way that you need one to understand the other. I think I can't really post either of them until they're both finished/complete. moreover, I decided to use both fics as my testing ground to see if I can write interactive, choose-your-own-adventure stories. I just think those are neat! so I wanted to try them myself!! and I think lc is perfect for that kind of story. if you've played a cyoa game before, you know how this goes. and yes, you can do this on AO3 (with limitations)! it's been really fun seeing the many ways you can use "choices" as a storytelling device, aside from just making branching paths in a narrative. I feel like, in spirit, this belongs to this list, although yeah it's not posted yet. I cannot promise that it will be. I highly doubt that it will be finished, in all honesty. it's kinda ambitious lmao, and waaay above my skill level. but! in the moment, I am having so so so much fun with it. and that's what matters in the end. the conceptualization and writing process for this fic just feels really different from the others because of it's narrative structure, and I'm kinda learning a lot about my own writing process along the way.

Hi, if you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 7 (or top 10) favorite media ever (can be book, anime/manga, tv series, movies, games, etc)? Why do you love them?
Also, can I ask your top 10 favorite characters ever (from any media)? Are the characters that you can relate the most, in your pinned post included in your top 10 fav characters? Sorry if I ask too much, thanks if you want to answer....
Of course I don't!! Thank you for the ask ♡
First and foremost, I am a huge consumer of fictional media: I read, watch, and am (more or less actively) involved in a ton of fandoms. That said, I'll mention the ones I return to most often, even without being prompted by fandom content like edits, fics, fanart, and so on.
Here's my top media [the order is random] :
Harry Potter with a special mention to the Marauders era, because I've completely lost mind and soul to that fandom [I’ve even cosplayed Remus a couple of times]. I’ve also read most of Rick Riordan's sagas, although I grew up with Harry Potter, so I suppose that's the one I’m most emotionally attached to [despite my deep-rooted disagreement with and disgust for J.K. Rowling's opinions]. To this day, I think it’s the fandom I’ve read the most fanfiction of
Tolkien: anything that wonderful human being wrote. The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, other Middle-earth tales. I’ve watched the movies an infinite number of times [yes, I am that nerd]. I may or may not also own a replica of Aragorn's sword.
Anything Sherlock Holmes. I’ve watched the BBC series, old movies, read the books—basically anything I could get my hands on.
MXTX novels. I started with The Untamed and completely lost it (specifically my dignity, given this endless list of fandoms). I’ve read the novels, manhua, and watched the donghua of MDZS, SVSSS, and TGCF—with MDZS undoubtedly being my favorite. I’m currently planning a Lan Wangji cosplay. Other honorable mentions along these lines: 2ha and Word of Honor.
Genshin. I play video games often, but Genshin is one of the few I’ve played consistently over the years. I also love the characters and the story. That said, I don’t agree with some of the company’s policies, but the fandom-generated content is often of amazing quality and is what keeps me attached to it.
Marvel and DC universes. I know some people might kill me for grouping them together, but I’ve followed both, especially back in high school. I’ve seen almost every Marvel movie, while with DC, it’s mostly been Batman and animation. Gotham is one of my absolute favorite shows [don't get me started on Batman villains]. For Marvel, Loki and Spider-Man are def my top picks.
Studio Ghibli. I watch a lot of anime [of course, duh], and I’ve cosplayed a few characters [not as many as I’d like, I admit]. But I’ve always had a strong emotional attachment to Ghibli movies. They’re still one of the few things that help me calm down when I’m anxious or stressed [which, sadly, happens often]. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched them.
Japanese BL dramas—I’ve watched a lot, as well as some Korean and Thai ones, but the ones I’ve rewatched the most have always been Japanese (not sure why that is), but I’ve enjoyed and would rewatch many of them. If I had to name the ones I’m most fond of, they’d be Cherry Magic, Kieta Hatsukoi, Utsukushii Kare, Absolute BL, and Bokura no Shokutaku.
TMA. I got into The Magnus Archives fairly recently compared to everything else. That’s mainly because I wasn’t used to listening to podcasts before TMA, I only stumbled upon it because of a TikTok audio. Also, I love anything horror. I fell in love with the story, how carefully it was constructed, and the characters.
Cinema [yes, I know it’s a very broad category]. I’m a cinematophile. I’ve watched a ton of movies—old ones, really old ones, every type and genre. Photography is one of my passions, so that made me a fan of cinema as well. I love the technical side, the history [I chose cinema history as an elective], and everything that comes with it. There are so many movies I love and consider masterpieces, but if I had to name a few I'm particularly attached to, it would be Call Me By Your Name, the Indiana Jones saga, and any Wes Anderson film.
I know you told me 10, but I'm sorry and hopeless. Anything Dark Academia coded: The Secret History, If We Were Villains, Dead Poets Society, The Goldfinch, Maurice, Dorian Gray, The Dreamers and so on
I picked the ones I’m most emotionally attached to, either because I’ve followed them since I was a kid or they helped me through tough times. There are so many more I didn’t mention, like Good Omens or The Witcher, and many webtoons, and anime which I’m just as into, but they didn’t make it to the list.
My top 10 characters:
Remus Lupin and Regulus Black [I have no words to express how much I love and relate to these two]
Snufkin [I am him, he is me, we are]
Wei Wuxian [I would let the world burn for this man, tough, as you might have guessed, my character is more aligned with Lan Wangji's, so it comes with the personality ig]
Thranduil Oropherion [he's the elven king of wood and stone, and he's very loud and daddy about it]
Milo Thatch [he's (excitedly) into history, archaeology, and linguistics, and we both give the you-really-do-not-want-to-get-them-started nerd vibe.]
Jonathan Sims [if on a good day I'm Milo Thatch, on a bad one I'm Jon], also I love how in some fics he wears long skirts, paranormal fear avatars can't be bothered with gender norms.
Newt Scamander [I find him very relatable. His stress in social situations and preference for animals or plants got to me. Also, he's so passionate and caring, love a good example of healthy masculinity.]
Suguru Geto [nothing to say on this, I love this man]
Loki [look, I have an issue with dramatic, gender-defying villains AND mythology, it was inevitable]
Sun Jing from Tamen de Gushi [I wish I was as cool as her, I love her so much]
Generally speaking, I tend to like morally grey characters, villains with redemption arcs or byronic heroes with a complex history who, in the end, try to do the right thing, even at the expense of self-sacrifice. Not in a selfless "it's the right thing to do" hero-complex kind of way, but more in a "I think I'm worthless and expendable, at least I'll try to do something good," angst, hurt/comfort kinda way.
I hope I answered all your questions, but if you have others, or you just wanna chat about it, just dm me!
