So I’m finally working in a translation of a very cool book that got me out of PTSD like 10 years ago only to realize that it has an official traslation from 2017that is expensive as fuck and you have to buy it online.

Aight, I think I got a Fear Toxin formula headcanon for the Arkham Shadow version of his drug! I tried to build it after pharmacological principles. But take all the information with a big grain of salt as I'm obv no scientist, and this is nothing but pure speculation for funsies! ^w^ ⬇️

Okay so, first we have the Base Compound: Arecoline (video). It's function: it acts as a muscarinic agonist (meaning it's a cholinesterase inhibitors to decrease the breakdown of acetylcholine - which is an important neurotransmitter that plays a role in brain functions, such as memory, and body functions - and increase that acetylcholine in the synapse)!

At high doses, it can cause overstimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to physical discomfort and mental disturbances (confusion, memory loss, agitation etc, the same stuff his patients reported after having been exposed to his drug).

Furthermore, he could have included a synthetic piperidine derivative to enhance hallucinations by targeting NMDA receptors, which causes dissociative states and vivid, surreal imagery.

Another ingredient could be some kind of modified ergot alkaloid to amplify Arecoline’s mental effects by introducing serotonin receptor (5-HT2A) agonism, which could intensify the hallucinations, perhaps even making them grotesque and terrifying (though that's not a given)

Then there is the option of adding an derivative that prevents the breakdown of Arecoline, enhancing and prolonging its activity!

And the idea of including an inhibitor to prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine, ensuring prolonged overstimulation of cholinergic, leading to increased intensity of sensory distortions, anxiety, and panic...

That's about it. I'm pretty sure there are so many other variants that could be based off of Arecolin that would work better though! Not that I'm saying that this one would work, ofc!!

ASH!!! Ash is a worker drone with a love for hands on crafts. They're current goal is to create a little dog drone friend to keep them company. Disassembly Drones peak their interest, they are afraid of them of course, but they also wonder if they are more than tunnel visioned killing machines. Thinks about it often. If there aren't parts at his disposal inside the Bunker he will weasel his way out one way or another to find parts and inspiration for new projects.

SD-River worked with a seamstress when he was a worker drone because of this he now finds great comfort in sewing and dressing up his dead worker drone friends!

Nova!!! I just recently designed them and I consider them my MD sona. I am still working out the details of their origins. The basic idea is that they were a decommissioned DD who was taken and repurposed by a group of ambitious worker drones to be a protector.

-They are a bit bigger than an original DD

-Their horns function like sets of eyes, same as a DDs headband

-Programmed to see WDs as little friends, priority is to protect. (Do they have free will? Who knows)
